Fun spot for a quick drink and some live music. kinda musty-needs some serious renovations and it would be an awesome place to hangout after grabbing a slice from fellinis!

At first glance walking in the place was nice, friendly bartender and advice on some of the beer selections… As we sat down after getting some drinks, one from our party noticed the bartender taking bottles from the bar and going in the back behind a curtain, then going into a closet by the restroom door, coming out with a large bottle, going back behind the curtain and than reappearing behind the bar with the liquor bottles full to the top. We joked about it and continued with our conversations and got more drinks… We only thought«what if they refilled the liquor bottles with cheap crap» but it was just funny conversation. About an hour later we were gathering our things and I saw the bartender go into the back with a bottle of Crown Royal and another upper shelf comparable… Than through the he curtain I saw her filling both bottles with a 1.75 liter plastic liquor bottle and then come back out with the Crown Royal and other bottle and put them back on the top shelf… Yes, I actually stood there standing at a weird position and watched her for so long that some people sitting at the bar started staring at me trying to figure out what I was looking at… Completely confirmed… The other people of my party nudged me and said«what are you looking at? Let’s go!» I told them what I witnessed, confirming what we joked about and they saw her going back and fourth throughout the time we were there… Will never go back, it is too bad… Nice little place for ambiance… We left to another location near there and stayed at the other place for a couple hours and as we were heading back to the car this place had a huge crowd watching a live band… I don’t think any of those people knew they were being duped into paying top shelf prices for low budget liquor in name brand bottles…

Oh, Powers. Looking for a small getaway in Warwick? Try this place out. It’s been around for a little bit and as such has developed a reputation to cater to certain patrons, however, I can assure you this is not true. I’ve found Powers to be incredibly welcoming to all who walk through its doors. It’s a smaller bar but not too small. Long bar that lines one of the walls can appropriately accommodate most if not all patrons. Come early in the night to snag a set of small black leather swivel chairs and a small table. Sometimes with a group of three or more(and depending on staffing) they will take your order from your seat but for more immediate service I recommend just going to the bar and ordering drinks there. They usually have good weekend drink specials. Be sure to ask for the complimentary popcorn! One of the things that keeps me coming back to Powers is the live music.

I was up from Baltimore to see friends. They took me to Power’s on a tue night for some live music. I was told they do a lot of good acoustic acts. Although there was a small menu, We didn’t eat so I can’t say anything either way about food. It’s a small bar with a loungy feel. Some couches and small tables. They have a decent draft list w about 10 beers on tap. They do a lot of nice cocktails. Our friend had a fresh strawberry cocktail called a Tini Bikini. It was super cool. I’m a music guy and that’s why we came here. They do music most nights it appears. I was told the bar manager, who was our fabulous bartender this night, books a lot good acts. Kudos to her for supporting live music. This particular night they had Acoustic Karaōke. You picked a song and sang w a live guitar. Super cool bar. Hopefully get to return

What a great vibe this place has. They are doing all the right things which makes it easy to fall in love with. The beer selection is fabulous. You can find local beers, micro-brews, and even some odd and interesting additions to the list. The beer list is constantly being updated and the prices are conservative. Beer not your thing? Even the mixed drinks are affordable. Try a handcrafted cocktail — I recommend the Blueberry Lemon Drop Martini, but every week there is a new and fun special to try. The drinks are a nice blend of booze and mixers so they aren’t overpowering, they are made fresh to order, muddled, shaken, measured and poured perfectly so you get creative and fresh with one sip. They recently added a food menu that boasts great portions that are as equally as cared for as the beverages. I’ve enjoyed a Caprese Salad while ogling a gooey artisan grilled cheese sandwich next to me. Even the personal pizzas are a tease. While you’re enjoying your delicious food and drinks you can also experience their phenomenal local entertainment — live acoustic karaōke, acoustic duos, and trios. They host high energy acts that don’t kill the mood if you’d like to chat with friends and family in their cushioned chairs or on their comfy sofa in the corner. Or maybe you want to sing along and dance? Go ahead! It’s encouraged. Don’t worry, sports fans, the games are shown on both their large screen TV and the TV above the bar. The waitstaff is also wonderful — I have been dealing with Angela and Jasmine since I started going there and they consistently exemplify professionalism with a great personal investment in their customers. They will know your name and your drink if you make it a regular visit. This place is definitely a hidden gem.

I very rarely give anything 5 stars because to me that means it is perfect! But I must say… Powers is pretty close! Hands down one of my favorite local spots! Angela is an awesome bartender! If you order once… she will never forget you! She is so attentive even with a full bar! Some awesome live music on Thursdays and the weekends! Oh… and the perfect bar snack(popcorn) will always compliment your drink! Powers has become a weekly go-to!

Great bartender finally. Angela is amazing, fun, personable and professional. Beers on tap varied, flights for craft beer tasters. Great live music every night including the Tuesday night acoustic Karoke.

Powers had added a creative dimension to its already comfortable atmosphere. Contemporary art, sculpture, photography.(full disclosure: two photos are mine). Of course, the draft beer assortment is great,(wife loved Heavy Seas Loose Cannon IPA) and the martini list is creative.(I can only vouch for the Fred & Ginger.) RI Calimari is very tasty, and the hummous plate is wonderful! Nightly specials and discounts make Powers a good place to visit and a great place to return to!

Powers Pub is fantastic! I recently held a private birthday party here and it was nothing short of PERFECT! The owners were fantastically accommadating and allowed me to choose everything from food, dj, to decorations! This pub is adorable and always has something going on from live music(ecclectic in taste — jazz, 3 peice band, dj) to pub trivia!.its a local neighborhood joint with a NYC feel!

Powers is a great neighborhood bar. It is like Cheers, everyone knows your name. Amy, the bartender, is much more than just a beer slinger. She has become a friend, as has Chef Donna. The food is not your average, heart burn waiting to happen, pub grub. Donna cares about the food she serves and makes everything to order. The hummus platter, risotto balls, and specialty pizza creations are tremendous. This is a great place to kick back and relax with friends, sit at the bar to watch a game, or get acquainted with one or more of the friendly regulars. There is trivia on Tuesday nights, and live music on the weekends. I love Powers, and so will you!

Over all, I like Powers Pub the atmosphere is casual, small, inviting, dark and apparently not great lighting for taking pictures. The bartender, not so personable, not even a smile. whoa, but she’s efficient like a robot and great service, the owner is much more outgoing in personality. I like their choices of wine, I met with friends and friends of friends and there was a DJ that night that I was not enthusiastic about. Melodic time-warp. They have pretty even keeled menu, the basic and some interesting specials, one customer suggested the beef stew, but nah, but I like that they have a soup on the special board, that’s rare. We ordered the calamari with fries, which was tasty, the balsamic redux was a bit much, just enough on there, but I swear the first bite tasted like an onion ring, not a lot of flavor of squid coming through, the batter is a bit too much and salty. Aside was a cup of red sauce, which was awesomely delicious. Once we got to the bottom, squid sat in a fair amount of oil in the bottom of the bowl, along with a lemon wedge. So, although the squid was not oily, some of the goodness was lost, because you would’ve already finished the dish, by the time you got to the oil. The fries were good. The chicken wrap seemed popular with sweet potato fries, that were tasty but adding more sugar to sweet potato fries is kinda brave, it didn’t work. The buffalo chicken tenders, my favorite bar food ever was spicy, a bit too brightly orange and the side of fries sufficient, unfortunately the salt factor combined with the tenders’ sauce and the salt and old bay seasoning(didn’t know) on the fries, I had a hard time eating and I am not a big fan of blue cheese on my spicy chicken but I had to do, just to cover up the saltiness of the fries and chicken. Old Bay is a strong seasoning and it also appeared the cook was just seasoning way to close to the bowl, some fries were rife with seasoning and some had none. In the end, after more water and wine I had a great evening, Maybe when I return, I“ll ask for the sweet potato fries, lightly seasoned with Old Bay, lightly. I recommend going, I definitely recommend eating here it is that kinda place where people can sit and eat dinner and not feel guilty about it, because its cozy at the bar as well as tables.

I’ve been a bunch of times and it’s always been OK. I’ve never had a bad experience but at the same time it’s never been awesome. I feel kind of blah about this place. Sometimes it is so quiet in there it’s almost uncomfortable. Other times it’s so loud you can’t talk to the person next you.

Wondering what happened to this place. Brought a friend visiting Providence for the first time. I thought we could show her Pawtuxet Village and a little gem called Powers Pub. What we got was a smile-less, unwelcoming bartender who made our drinks with little or no acknowledgement. It was a Saturday night, a dozen people in the place should have been enough to have received a more welcoming experience. We waited some time for her to come by and make us another round, but it took so long that we decided to head out to another spot downtown. Its too bad because I really like this place.

The Pawtucket Village needed this place. The food is Yum, Yummy, Yum. I avoided eating here for a while because I was expecting run of the mill«Pub Grub» The food was not only a great value, but DELICIOUS!

This place gets 5 stars for the live jazz music and drinks. But for the love of god could people stop making out and straddling each other in this place! They loose 3 entire points for just that alone, which is too bad because it has to do with the crowd and not the place in anyway. So really, what is with the raging hormones the patrons possess? That’s my only qualm..

Had to update as I finally tried some of the food last night, warning, this is based on one dish only. When they first opened there wasn’t much in the way of a food menu, but they seem to have it pretty solid now. I tried the BBQ pulled pork pizza, and it was really great. Not too much meat, a lot of flavor, on a nice thin crust cooked perfectly. Lots o’ cheese. At 11 bucks I was able to split this with my man and be full and very happy. I can still smell it on my coat today and it’s driving me mad! Had a long island iced tea that was pretty awesome too. Service has improved, and I can say with absolute certainty that I’ll be back many times to try some more food.

This place was recommended to me from a friend who lives in the village… It’s a true hidden gem! My boyfriend and I visited for a drink around 10pm on Saturday night… The place was fairly full, had a fun vibe and a 3 piece live band was playing. Powers seems to have a bit of a crisis-of-character going on, but don’t get me wrong, this is not a criticism: What I mean is, on the one hand, it feels like a «locals» marina bar down by the harbor(bunch of guys drinking beers and watching a game on the flat screen), the next minute, it’s a dark, live music venue, and then, there’s the gay vibe(all female staff, feminist nude paintings etc)… Some how, these 3 disparate personalities are actually working well with one another. I hope it can hold on to the eclectic feel as if Saturday night was any indicator, the chemistry in the place was fantastic and everyone seemed to be having a wonderful time… FYI, they make a mean and tasty Long Island Iced Tea!
