My wife and I love the food at Christopher’s, and we often marvel that there are so few patrons there. I may have discovered the cause. On two separate occasions, nearly six months apart, I used the men’s room only to discover the most filthy restrooms I have ever seen. Having worked in the industry, I can confidently say that the urinal hadn’t been cleaned in months. This was the case on both visits. There won’t be a third.

Last night was our 3rd time there and it didn’t disappoint so it wasn’t a fluke and there is a good, locally-owned restaurant meant! The service is nice – seems like the wait staff has been there a while and takes pride in the restaurant and wants you to enjoy their place. I had the short rib pot roast which is really great and filling – that perfect homemade taste made better. And my husband had the seared duck breast which he thought was great also though the sauce was a tad salty. We both cleaned our plates! The herb butter that comes with the warm rolls is so good we use it all to slather our bread… every time. Earlier I’ve calorie splurged and had the macaroni and cheese which was killer – smoky with Gouda and penne. My husband has had the steak stroganoff which is great also and I love the grouper. It would be a 5 star but the wine prices are ridiculously high. I would expect to pay that markup if there were a view of the Potomac or the Bay but not for the restaurant’s location in a small strip mall between a nail salon and liquor store. I believe they don’t switch out menus for the season which if that is the case, it’s too bad because many of the dishes are cold weather comfort food that I think may be too heavy for me during the summer.

Everyone I send here is shocked that it exists! Excellent food, great friendly staff and love the atmosphere. The portobello appetizer is fantastic and I always struggle between the duck and filet. Mac and cheese with smoked Gouda and ham is also a must. They never disappoint and the food is consistently prepared!

I love this place and frequent there often! The food is amazing. If you order the veal or steak, you will not go wrong. Almost everything on the menu is excellent. Like with many restaurants, Christopher’s service ranges from ok to excellent depending on who you get as a server.

Service from another dimension! The first time I dined at Christopher’s it was a great experience, so I thought it would be a perfect place to have a group dinner. The reservation was made for 5:30pm on a Saturday for a party of 40 ppl. People started to arrive at 5:15pm and I got there and 5:30pm. By 6:00pm most of the party arrived. The first thing I noticed was that there was one waitress taking drink orders for the entire party and one additional waitress helping to serve. So I asked politely if she was the only one serving our party for the night and she answered me dismissively and said I will try to do my best… in other words yes. Long story short we did not get bread or even our salad till 8:00pm. The entire party was unhappy and wondered what took everything so long. Food was mediocre and every time we asked to talk to a manager they said he was cooking and too busy. Christopher is the head chef./Manager/Owner. He never came out to address any of our concerns and what made it even worse was that he left early without addressing our party. None of the staff showed concern for the issues we had and were dismissive and rude. I don’t usually pull the race card but it was obvious that the white customers in the front of the restaurant were catered to and served by more than 4 waiters while the majority black party in the back of the restaurant was forgotten about. By the end of the night I felt disrespected and unsettled. What makes this situation so bad is that I made this reservation almost 3 weeks in advance and paid a 75 $ deposit for the space. They had plenty of time to arrange for extra staff to work the party that night. The only compensation we received was $ 4 off of every entrée meal and of course the manager ducking out early so he didn’t have to deal with a room full of angry people. Please do not support this business if you agree that all human beings, no matter their race, color, or creed should be served equally. Sorry but sorry. It was just that bad! Note to manager: Christopher I would like my 75 $ reimbursed. I will be making calls to make sure this happens immediately.

I attended a friend’s vision board party here and it was perfect for a group event. The service was superb. Our servers were very attentive and accommodating. I really enjoyed my meal. I had the crabmelt on a English muffin with fries. It was two crabmelts on each muffin. The lunch portion was just right and the homemade fries were tasty. The prices were great too.

It’d been awhile since is been here but enjoyed the visit back. We had the barbeque pecan crusted salmon and baby back ribs. Both dishes were delicious, the barbeque sauce was especially tasty. Also had the cream of crab soup. It was a little on the thick side and lacked a little seasoning but it was chocked full of lump crab meat. Glad we stopped in dinner, would recommend for dinner to anyone who wants a good meal in a nice atmosphere. It’s still shocking that this little gem of a restaurant is tucked away in a small strip mall.

This was our first visit here, we share a spinach salad it was suppose to have a warm dressing on it and for a spinach salad usually the dressing is a little sweet this dressing was very bitter. My wife had the pot roast with mashed potatoes peas and carrots it was very good tasty and very tender. I had the cowboy steak with mashed potatoes and fried onions and a balsamic drizzle. The potatoes and onions were very good the steak was cooked perfect but it wasn’t very tender and the balsamic drizzle was very bitter. The steak also had a lot of gristle in it if we do return again I would have the filet it only $ 2 more. The service was great the only complaint that I would have is that our waitress was constantly touching her face and hair then delivering food and drinks. The location is fine and easy to get to.

No doubt a true hidden gem in Crofton. One of those if you didn’t know exactly where this place was you couldn’t find it. Even GPS has trouble. There’s a Dunkin Donuts and an Exxon gas station near by. Parking lot is small and crowded most weekdays. Now the food is spectacular. The service is better than most. It’s a shame the location is poor, otherwise this would be a perfect spot.

Showed up on a Friday evening without a reservation and were treated like royalty by the hostess and wait staff. Cowboy steak and a nice bottle of red wine, prompt service, what’s not to like.

I came here with a friend and we had a good time. Service was good, food came out quickly. We were there on a Tuesday night around 6pm and the place was virtually empty. I wonder if it moved to a different location as a stand alone establishment instead of in a strip mall, would it be more busy? The food was good. We had the crab dip as an appetizer and it was delicious. My friend got the salmon which she commented was very good. I got the champagne chicken which was ok. We were too full to order dessert, but we would have liked to if we could make it fit!

This is truly a hidden gem. Located In a strip mall next to a nail salon and liquor store. I’ve honestly passed by this place several times without even realizing . Downfall: Took my guest and I nearly 10 mins to be served a menu and be acknowledged. After we received service there were not further complaints. The crab dip is a must try! Served with bruschetta, this item is nice size for sharing. Bar specials include Monday — Friday happy hours from 4p-7p. House Wine at $ 4? Why the heck not ?! Count me in ! I will absolutely return.

I’ve only been there for lunch but… Their daily special soup, a cream of celery, is the best soup I’ve had in a restaurant in 20 years. It was so good I ordered their cream of crabs to try… which was one of the top five cream of crabs soups I’ve ever had… but not as good as that celery soup. This is a place we’ve been curious about going to for 12 years every time going the dunkin donuts. Looking across the parking lot I had thought is was a bar that served food… and then walking up to meet the wife I’d dropped off… I thought this is too fancy a place to go as we are dress, just out running errands… But I’m glad we took the chance and went anyway. Our server Caressa, or Claressa… was very attentive, willing to admit she didn’t know but would find out for us per specific ingredients/allergy info… I had Russian roast beef sandwhich which was excellent, much better than I expected… the bread grilled to perfection, sauce and unbelievably tender given how thick it was. Only not perfect things… French fries were disappointment in contrast to everything else and… the«curly Q» script of the menu does nothing to add to their look and is difficult to read. I feel the same way about their web page and any attempt to get people there… but as Kristen P said, sad for them great for me. Again I’d like ability to give half stars…4.5

Recommended by 5 stars. Friendly, professional staff who are mostly females and all wearing black attire which gives a high end feel to the restaurant. Food was above and beyond my expectation. I ordered ribs that was great and it came with mash potatoes which was unique and tasty. See the image. You must try it to know what I mean.

First time coming here and it was Easter Sunday. Got seated right away, not very busy. Ordered the steak stroganoff. It was very good with a lot of steak. Ordered the peach bread pudding for dessert, delicious! Overall nice place. Service got a little slow as the meal progessed but staff was nice.

You’d never know this place was here. Sad for them, great for me. But also sad for my wallet… Christopher’s is fine dining in a not so fine location. Know that, remember that, and expect to see that in their pricing. However, they do often have coupons floating about the interwebs, and though they don’t save you much, they’re better than nothing. We started with a Spinach Salad to share — reasonably priced, and with dill havarti and a bacon vinaigrette, how could you refuse? Delicious! My mother then ordered the Maple Glazed Veal Tenderloin which came with zucchini, smoked mozzarella risotto, spicy pecans and shoestring sweet potato. So, so good. I ordered the Blackened Red Snapper, which came with char-tomato salsa, aioli, fried leeks and mashed potato, though I switched out the potatoes for some sort of vegetable thing, which though I don’t remember, I polished off. In fact, we practically licked our plates clean. Everything was just amazing, and if it weren’t for the above-entry-level-job-salary price point, I’d be here all the time. …Happy hour menu, Christopher’s? Food: 5 Drinks: 4 Service: 5 Value: 4

3.5 stars Located in a random strip mall in Crofton, can’t say it is really easy to spot from the road. On this particular night, the sign was not lighted. I believe that you would pass it if you didn’t know where it is. I believe the name of the shopping center is Rte 3. The interior of the restaurant is nice, I think it would be really nice for a date night, nice size bar area, pub tables, dining area is really comfortable. There is enough space in the back to have nice sized private parties. Can’t say I wouldn’t consider this place«fine dining» as it is described on its website. For an app I had the crab bruschetta. I mean that is what it was called, I wouldn’t call it that though. It simply reminded me of a crab dip. I think that the tomatoes were an after thought, as there was a small amount on the side of the dish. The dip itself was delicious, there was plenty of crab to go around. For dinner, I got the braised short rib beef pot roast with baby carrots, pearl onions, peas, and truffle mashed potatoes in a Merlot sauce. This meal just reminded me of home. It was really good, the portion was plentiful, the meat was seasoned and cooked nicely. I can’t say that I tasted anything that resembled truffle oil, butter, or what have you in the mashed potato but they were still good. I would venture out to try some new things.
