I really like this place! I’ve only gone for breakfast twice, but I love it! I plan on going for lunch soon. I’m glad I found Grumps!

Went for breakfast this morning. Ordered the Chicken biscuit with gravy and western omelette for my son and myself and 2 scrambled eggs for our dog(we sat outside) we loved everything! The drink situation is perfect at Grump’s too… It’s a bar style so whether you order cold or hot drinks you can fix it your way. I got hot tea and had the choice of swanky tea or a good old Lipton milk and cream in pitchers and flavored single creamers. I hope they keep the drinks that way forever! There was a super nice man there that was so friendly and immediately brought our dog a sparkling bowl of ICE water! I can’t wait to go back! Loved it!

The Good: Good food, casual fun atmosphere, friendly staff, good food, Great Cinnamon coffee! The Meh: Omelettes are overcooked, unless you ask for them soft. I still order them. Some of the dishes are pretty bland. Gotta test drive them. YMMV Some things are pricey. Check prices on what you’re ordering. Eg: a menu omelette may be about $ 8 – 9, but if you say build your own, you changed menu items to a $ 12 – 13 item For those who don’t like the service model where you get a table assignment, order and pay at the counter… Grow up. It’s just an efficient service model. Many restaurants are moving to this model. As always, YMMV

Went there on a Saturday around noon. Got to the counter and the cashier asked what table I was in. I explained that I did not know. Apparently the host was supposed to assign us one but didn’t and we couldn’t get his attention. So we just picked a table and had horrible service. The waitstaff only came by to give us food and that’s the last we saw of them. We waited for our drinks, only to be told when our food arrived that we were responsible for getting our own drinks. The food was bland. I got a BLT. Nothing spectacular. Soggy fries. The waitstaff were distracted and not attentive. My young son was confused by the trans-friendly bathroom signs which was awkward for me to explain to him and wasn’t an experience I wanted to have just trying to eat breakfast. Perhaps the waitstaff could at least try to be helpful and attentive, and some non descript unisex signage on the bathrooms rather that some political statement would have made the experience better, but I doubt it. Won’t be going back. Many better options in the area. I suggest the Nautilus Diner just down the street. Or McDonalds for that matter. Better food and service for a better price.

I’ve eat at the Annapolis location a dozen times or so and have always gotten breakfast or the chicken and waffles which are great. Someone told me they read grumps was rated as having 1 of the best burgers in Annapolis so I was in crofton and stopped in and got the bacon burger. It was huge juicy and delicious, to the point of being hard to not get it every time even though I like their biscuits and gravy also. The only problem was the burger was so big the bun was a little to small to hold it. Also do yourself a favor and add the sweet potato fries for an extra buck you’ll thank me later

Oooo I love breakfast food and therefore I love Grumps. Their cinnamon coffee is absolutely wonderful. I typically get the Bayridge Benedict which is pretty much a crabcake eggs benedict. The creamy potatoes are delicious and so is the sausage gravy. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Prices are a little on the high side but well worth it. It’s a fun little place to have breakfast or brunch. I highly recommend it.

The main problem was that the cashier took our complete order including cheese for the eggs and a side of fruit. However, the only things on the check were my pancakes, fruit, two coffees, and an OJ. My husband’s order was completely missing. He took a few bites of my food but decided not to re-order. The service was otherwise fine.

Coming in hot to update my last review. Grump’s has really gotten it together and I have had two great meals in a row! The corned beef hash was great as well as the one, one and one where I had an egg, sausage and a piece of French toast. They also have really good coffee. The staff is nice and friendly and I’ll be incorporating them into my various morning routines.

If I could leave ZERO star, I would. I am very disappointed in this place. When I walked in, Braeden/Brandon, the receptionist, asked me to wait on the side because I was waiting for my husband to park his car. At the mean time, three groups walked in, and the receptionist let all of them get in the line while I had to stay at the entrance and wait for my husband. I told him that my husband would be in any minute, but he insisted that I have to wait on the side due to restaurant policies. I love to support local business but I cannot deal with rudeness and unreasonable policies. We left at the end. BTW, I wonder if they actually clean up the floors and the quirky animals.

One of our favorites in the area. Had a great lunch here today. I’ve had both breakfast and lunch here and tried a bunch of different things, and the only thing I didn’t like was the veggie omelet.(That may just be me because I’m weird with eggs and omelets sometimes.) Some favorites are: wings, turkey melt, French toast, cat head biscuits, and my hubby really likes the Philly cheesesteak grinder(can’t speak to that because I don’t eat beef). Their cinnamon coffee is one of my favorite coffees, ever. Grumps has a really lowkey vibe, with staff wearing pajamas. Clearly this vibe isn’t for everyone based on other reviews. The atmosphere leaves a bit to desired as you have to order at the counter and get your own drinks. But if you can handle doing that, the food is so worth it!

Went for the first time for breakfast yesterday(05÷04÷20160) Loved the laid back, beach theme and the host/server was very friendly and made you feel welcomed(unlike a lot of places) Sorry that I didn’t remember his name. While I really wasn’t a fan of the country fried steak, the biscuits were fantastic. Nice and warm with a buttery crisp bottom. Eggs cooked to perfection. I loved the OJ. Will be going back to try lunch next.

After 3 terrible breakfasts I have to revise my initial review. If you like soggy waffles, generic instant oatmeal, and Kraft singles in your omelette this is the place for you.

Food was okay. The crispy potatoes were not that crispy and they were salty. You could see the salt crystals on them. Also the waffle was hard. I had to use a lot of syrup to soften them up and I don’t really like a lot of syrup. The chicken and waffles dish I had was just okay. I had to add hot sauce to the chicken tenders and I am not a huge hot sauce fan. Overall it was just okay. At least I tried it.

Reasonable, solid breakfast food. Check it out. This place is open when you need it to be. Good fast breakfasts, it’s the most important meal of the day. At one point everyone wore pajamas, I recently went in and they have ditched the pajamas, in my opinion that’s good. Food is reasonable, I’ve eaten here about 5 times, at least 4 of those times were above average. If your in the Crofton area and need breakfast, this should be on your list.

The best way to describe this place is great idea, bad execution. The vibe is nice and casual. And seems like it would be friendly. The employees where pajamas. Jimmy Buffet is playing. There’s even a sign warning you they play Jimmy Buffet. We were really happy to find this place. And then it went down hill. I ordered an omelette that wasn’t exactly one of the offered versions on the menu. The young man taking our order said«OH, you want to do a build your own omelette?!». Seemed like a weird question but I said, «I guess?». I changed one item in the omelette. No extra items, just a change. The omelette went from $ 8 to $ 12 if I changed anything. A 50% increase in cost to substitute what was actually a cheaper item than before? When I asked why that was, he seemed annoyed that we had the nerve to bring it up. Well, the omelette came out overcooked and the«crispy potatoes» were anything but. And they weren’t very warm. They may want to move the pan of pre-cooked food closer to the warmer. The other dish was an omelette that was floating in oil when it came out. The irony was it was an egg white omelette. So much for going healthy! Ugh!

My check-ins are starting to tell on me. Grump’s is my new home for weekend or off day breakfast. I haven’t done lunch or dinner here just yet. Grump’s does great with its breakfast service. They have an extensive menu with lots of choices and specials that I don’t or won’t cook at home. Today I’m having Bayridge Benedict(an eggs Benedict with lump crab meat) which is plenty good and tasty with lots of crab. The food comes out fast and hot which is always a plus and the coffee bar is self serve and straight forward(no pumpkin café latte thing i.e.). Grumps tries to distinguish itself from others with a little quirkiness. The staff is dressed casually in pajamas pants which some don’t take to but doesn’t bother me at all. You also order and pay for your meal before you sit which can be a hassle if you like to study a menu or add to your meal later. All and all Grump’s is great for breakfast and I suspect lunch and dinner. Oh yeah and their wifi works.

THEGOOD: Food is good. Kids are cute. It’s v local THEBAD Prices are outrageous and they are Nazis about substitution. THEWORST: The flow into the resturant is the dumbest thing I have ever seen!!! You enter the restaurant and you are given a number that you have to remember at the register… If there are others in line not knowing what they want you MUST wait for them because they will not allow the line to floor out of sequence. In fact if the considerate ppl viewing the menu allow you to Butt the cashier will instruct you to resume your place in line because you can’t be seated out of sequence. It sucks to be me because I am standing behind 4 couples and 1 family who have never been here before and all are browsing the menu. Good thing I am using the time wisely(on this post). :-(

The concept is order at the counter and they bring your food out to you when it’s ready. The staff was very nice and it’s a cool place with fun signs everywhere. Food also came very quick. I can only comment on the breakfast food(not lunch) but it was pretty disappointing. Chocolate milk was chocolate syrup just stirred in. Grits were really runny and seemed like instant grits. Didn’t love the sausage, it was very maple-y. Eggs were okay, kind of dry. Nothing terrible but also not something we’d come back for

You had me at «Breakfast All Day.» Actually — you had me at «Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner All Day.» You heard me. You want a Burger and fries or Crab Cake sammie at 7:00 a.m. No one will judge you here. You want bacon-stuffed french toast at 5:00p.m. Have at it. Just march your little self up to the counter, place your order, have a seat and wait for the magic to happen. This place isn’t fancy, rather relaxed and causal… so much so that the uniform for staff is actually pajama pants! lol! What they lack in ambiance they full make up in quality food and interesting menu items, always made with the best ingredients and more times than not, locally sourced. I’ve passed by this location for months and just went in for the first time last week. By the end of the week, I had gone back another time. Safe to say, they have a need regular patron ;)

This has rapidly become our go-to breakfast joint in Crofton! We are huge fans now, though it wasn’t a sure thing at first. On our very first visit, we had extremely hot and fresh sausage gravy, with a steadily declining temperature over the pantheon of remaining dishes. But, this was also very shortly after the place opened, and you could tell they were just trying to nail down the timing. By now, I think they have it in place. This is a well-oiled machine now, and the food keeps on getting better. They very clearly advertise that they use Boar’s Head brand in their meats, including breakfast offerings. I’m very okay with that. First of all, it’s a pretty top notch brand, which people trust and enjoy. Second, they are up front about who their supplier is, which I also appreciate. No mystery here. The food they make themselves is actually better(i.e. bacon-stuffed waffle, cream hash potatoes), and their cinnamon coffee is really good! I’m personally a huge fan now of the«Cat Head» biscuits and gravy. They are as advertised: about as big as a cat’s head! The sausage gravy is so delicious… homemade(clearly), very herby without being overpowering, savory, hot, creamy, sausage-y, just all around perfect. As far as the kitsch is concerned, I kind of enjoy the minimalist approach. They have some fun signs around, which are enjoyable to read. The table markers are rubber duckie type toys(pink pigs, crabs, ducks, etc.). And the mugs are a cacophony of local donations. We left some with them a while back; now when we visit, we feel like we are saying hello to family members who have moved out and are enjoying their new lives in a re-purposed setting. Kind of corny, but it’s fun. I like the setup, too. You tell the person at the front if you are there for breakfast or lunch, and then dining in or takeout. Then, you get the corresponding menu, and you walk up to the front to order. Meanwhile, they prep your table. You order, pay, and wait for the goodness to arrive. Oh, almost forgot, local bread, too. From Ottenburg’s. Very good stuff! Definitely our go-to breakfast place in Crofton. One of these days, I’ll get around to trying all the lunch stuff that folks rave about, too(wings, burgers, etc.). Right after I finish off another order of Fried Chicken + Waffle + Gravy!
