Sadly Tavern we will have to part ways with the exception of brunch. The slow but friendly service I can overlook, and have for years. However the prices have gone too far up and the quality too far down. Last night-1 beer, 1 burger, 1 shrimp po’ boy(which was three small shrimp in a huge balloon of deep fried mushy breading), two kids meals. $ 80. Fries were good. I would go again to have a beverage or maybe nachos, and definitely for brunch but dinner with the family no longer.

This is a favourite among the locals which offers traditional American/Pub food as well as some unique specials. Although I did not particularly enjoy the dish I got, I feel inclined to give the Tavern a good review for its unique menu, good atmosphere and good food. It’s definitely«cozy»(i.e. small) so I’d be hesitant to come in on a weekend night! I ordered the Apple Cheddar Turkey burger, and although the burger itself was juicy and well seasoned, I had to eat the sandwich disassembled. I like the idea of the apple/cheese combo, but the burger was lacking some sort of sauce to tie it all together. The thought of putting ketchup on it was a little unsettling. Regardless, the burger itself was clearly well-cooked, and the chips and fries are great. I recall coming here other times and enjoying the food here, so I just think this dish in particular needs some work. Or maybe I’m just being picky! The bar has a good amount of seating and a good selection of beers. I had the Bull and Barrel Blueberry Ale — delicious! This is a great place to sit by the bar with a friend or two and have a couple drinks and indulge in some burgers, fries or wings.

Always crowded. Great brunch and good wings. Drinks are a little pricy. Always full of locals. Very limited seating and there is one waitress who works very hard.

I have been brown bagging it all week and was in the mood for a good burger. This place did not disappoint. Perfectly prepared medium rare with cheddar cheese and a very generous portion of mushrooms. the fries were hot and crispy. I am totally happy with today’s lunch. will definitely go again. I ordered take out, they said 20 minutes, got there in 20 minutes and it was ready to go. all in all a very good experience!

I got the artichoke spinach turkey burger. Great. Lived the homemade mayonnaise. Staff were great. Peanut had the brownie and ice-cream in a dog dish.

Great find on Unilocal,if your heading up to Jack O Lantern on a chilly night, stop in for a Goose Island and a bowl of Lobster Mac and cheese. Friendly staff, and I always like when the owner of an establishment greets tables and asks how thing were. Enjoy…

Buffalo mac and cheese…. A layer of chicken on top of some mac with buffalo sauce on the side. I shouldn’t have to assemble this shit myself, stir it in for me yo. However still a four star because once all provided ingredients came together to create the megazord, it was delicious as f.

Low star rating because it so cramped inside, go early to avoid the crowds(20 people would make a crowd). Lots a parents turning up with kids and waiting in whatever space they can find for a table, it makes for uncomfortable seating with everyone seemingly standing over you. Mainly the food is not bad, i did have a bad meal once but it didn’t put me off going again. The cramped conditions put me off going again. Parking is dicey and the area is generally bad to drive past, narrow road, cars parking and people crossing. They advertise beer on tap, but i never thought much of it. There are much better places to go if its all about the beer. I know they are not going to turn away customers and if they want to cater to families then of course they would, but this place is crying out to expand. With a larger place they could be on to a winner. One thing that always give me a chuckle is the caller id that comes up on the TV screen when anyone calls.

Favorite local spot. Delicious food, super friendly/accommodating staff and tasty drinks specials. Their wing game is very strong — as well as their buffalo-style-anything game.

This place was OK, beer selection was not great, had some wings and I think a turkey burger, space is cute, The Lobster roll was pretty good but note worth the price, overall just OK.

Small, unassuming joint but has great burgers on a nice toasted roll. My husband, who is a wing connoisseur, gave the buffalo wings a big thumbs up. There is a choice of mild, medium or hot. The french fries were also good, very crispy the way I like them. If you are looking for good comfort food at reasonable prices, check it out. Keep in mind it is small so if you go during peak serving hours, there may be a wait.

It’s cosy and quaint. Staff nice and attentive enough without being in your face. Pizza tasty. A characterful place that feels like it’s been there forever without seeming outdated. Can be noisy as it’s small and popular but a lively atmosphere.

Came here on a Summer afternoon. Found this place on Google map. Wanted to find a nice place not from the Croton state park and lucked out. They had outside seating which we really wanted. The waitress was very sweet and helpful. I got the crab corn chowder which was so rich and creamy! Then got me a burger with fries which was very tasty as well. My girl had the spinach artichoke turkey burger that was also quite good. Service and price was good. Hope to come back here someday!

Everything was spectacular. Packed so I called for a table. Anything lobster or Mac and cheese related is sheer perfection. Margaritas are lethal. Service is amazing.

We stopped in for a quick bite, with my family, the food was great, the service was excellent, the lobster roll was prepared great, you get your money’s worth. We will definitely come back again. we sat outside and enjoy the beautiful evening. Great spot and a good bar if you want to go inside and have drinks too.

Great Burgers — lean & juicy & Tasty Fries– perfectly cooked! Love the lobster roll(without the bread cuz I’m gluten free) & my wife lived the Mac-n-Cheese. Sadly, the bathroom is a «sty» — it wouldn’t cost much to freshen it up & clean Better. Also, it does not cost much to keep some Udi’s Gluten Free rolls in a freezer & charge $ 1 more for those with food allergies.

Cozy spot that’s 50% restaurant and 50% bar. Small but diverse menu, filled with fantastic comfort food like burgers, calamari, lobster mac ‘n cheese, and hearty desserts. Also features some«craft cocktails», like the Moscow Mule in a traditional copper mug. We enjoyed everything we had, and received very friendly and attentive service. All food was«good» to «really good» but, aside from their burgers, in three visits now I haven’t found anything that’s «great», and I have tried or shared much of their menu by now. Their wings, or at least the«Jack Daniels» ones I recently tried, really weren’t that good at all; however, their thin crust personal pizzas are delicious. Their seedy restroom screams«sexual assault».

We were a party of 6 and the service was impeccable. We got a table just in the nick of time. With in minutes it got very busy around dinner time. We had wings, Lobster roll, Lobster Mac & Cheese California pizza pie, Grilled chicken over the Crazy Craisin Salad and the Shrimp Po Boy Sandwich. EVERYTHING was fresh and tasty. Highly recommended.

This off-the-beaten-path spot is an odd combination of the old world neighborhood tavern and a bit of the modern trend toward high end food(not quite a gastropub as it does not cater to craft and/or high end beers and cocktails). Last night’s menu special was a perfect example of the high end — filet mignon for two with a bottle of red wine. Or, one could go in the direction most of our party did — we started with some hot wings, which were large and juicy, crisp on the outside and just hot enough. For main courses we enjoyed — a lobster BLT with sweet potato fries, and two(2) had cheeseburgers with standard fries. All the plates were swept clean. I changed course a bit and opted for the personal«Farmers» pizza — spinach, red peppers, goat cheese, roasted garlic and EVOO(which I altered slightly by adding hot sausage). Delicious! I have to admit, the food here is terrific for bar food — burgers are big and juicy, toppings are plentiful, and the fries are magnificent — served in folded over mini-paper bags. Service has been consistently good and the staff goes out of their way to please. You can go high end here, or roll up your sleeves and get extra napkins. Either way it’s a good deal!
