Food was great!!! I was there for Dinner one day and breakfast another day. Will make this a regular. Burger was lightyears ahead of typical diners and eggs benedict was great. Pancakes and French toast looked awesome too. Will have to go back and try those. So happy to have this place in Ossining. Very inexpensive also.

Great service with a friendly staff. The Tree Hugger veggie sandwich on thick multigrain bread and the Shrimp Po Boy on Chiabata Bread with a side of unique green bean fries were very good. The coleslaw and the food presentation was nice. They should move to homemade natural cut French fries from the frozen variety. Adding draft beer and a short wine list would be nice.

I came here with my girlfriend this morning, this being our first time. We were given our choice on where to sit, and was greeted immediately upon sitting with water, and a fresh pot of coffee. After a quick look through the menu, I went with eggs benedict, and she with the cinnamon pancakes. While we waited, I got a chance to take in the atmosphere. It feels like a modernized 50s joint. I love it. The food arrived within 10 minutes, and I thought the plating was done well. The food looked fresh and appetizing. After the ceremonial instagraming of said plating, that we all seem to do now was finished, we both dug into our delicious meals. And they were delicious. My eggs were poached perfectly, as if Alton Brown himself cooked them. The English muffin felt fresh, as if it were baked this morning. The hollandaise sauce made the dish. There was a modest portion of home fries on the plate, with onions and peppers, and that’s exactly the portion I prefer. My girlfriend’s pancakes looked wonderful, and by the moans of joy coming from her side of the table, I could see they tasted the same. The serving size was large, and she could barely get through half of it. Her bacon was slightly crisp, and freshly cooked. It did not look reheated. Our server came by multiple times to see if we were ok, and offered to refill our water and coffee each time. I did not feel rushed, as if they wanted to turn a table, just that they cared about our dining experience. This is definitely going to be a regular place for us when it comes to wanting diner food. I look forward to their lunch and dinner service.

Somewhat above average for a diner. Nice vibe. Good service. Food came fast. Some actual effort was put into plating and the crockery. Nice menu with some interesting and different options — not the typical diner menu with a bazillion options. We spoke to the manager for awhile, and the chef comes from a restaurant background. All the tables are given a complimentary bucket of popcorn, which was a nice touch. I had am omelette which was pretty standard diner fare, but the home fries were better than average. She had a Motzo ball soup which was a little plain, but decent. The kids had a typical kids meal(one chicken fingers, one cheeseburger). Both their meals and fries were slightly above average. For dessert one kid got some ice cream, which again, some effort was put into in terms of presentation. The other kid got a standard diner cookie, which for once was smaller than his face. Don’t get me wrong. It’s a diner. Not fine dining. But if that’s what you’re looking for, this one is decent(or sucks less, if you will)

Been here twice now. Service and food has been great both times. Nice to finally have a good diner in this location.

Trying way too hard, and forgetting the more important parts. They were out of two things on the specials menu at 7pm… not a good omen. My party tried four different things, none of which were anything to write home about, or even return for. The portions are small considering the prices. We were seated in some back left forgotten corner, with a waitress who was much less than attentive, not to mention lacking in personality. She couldn’t even remember to fill up my water glass until being reminded a third time. No excuse either, as it wasn’t overly crowded. The food was edible, but not terribly enjoyable. The shoestring french fries we’re cold by the time they got to the table. Much of the food lacked flavoring, even when I ask for jalapenos on my sandwich, I got three 4⁄4 slices on the entire sandwich. They put up new lighting, and got new booths, which along with a new menu had alot of opportunity for greatness, but alas it failed. They’re still very new, so I’ll give them another chance in about a month.

Four stars right now, because I’ve yet to try breakfast. I’ve been twice for dinner and it’s been very good. The service is great. very attentive and friendly. Food — fresh and delicious. I had a berry good turkey panini and a chicken pecan salad(or something like that) salad the two times I was there. Really really good ! They give you popcorn when you get seated which is nice. I can’t wait to try the Tiramisu french toast. That’s next on my list. Really good place! My favorite diner in the area.

Just went yesterday for the first time since it opened. I got a Veggie & goat cheese wrap. It was beautifully done, and absolutely delicious. The presentation was beautiful with the fries in a silver cup and a side of red cabbage cole slaw. Their menu is also huge so if they can maintain this high quality of food for everything they make, they will do great.

Don’t bother. Wait for food.(Simple breakfast order for 2) exceeded 40 minutes. Table was wobbly, food was okay — pancakes were just okay, bacon greasy, eggs cold, never bought toast despite 2 requests. Wait staff really trying seems as the kitchen might be the problem. Also back room was very noisy could not carry on a conversation Overall disappointing experience. Will not return

It’s a 3 ½ star. Staff was nice and place was clean. I like seeing places busy that’s always a good sign. We went at lunch time and were seated right away. Allie was our server and she was pleasant and attentive. Food was good. It’s was typical of most places in Ossining, both good and bad parts but nothing worth mentioning since they have just opened. I’ll go back to try breakfast. And it’s not that I wouldn’t go back for lunch but I wasn’t that wowed to have to go back for lunch or dinner type foods. I will say this. Serving frozen fries and onion rings is lame. I expected fresh cut but got frozen and for 30 bucks plus tip for a burger and sandwich I expect fresh. Something to consider. Returned for dinner a few nights ago and again I’m not overly impressed. The burgers were dry and over cooked. The chili lime dressing for a salad was tasteless. Service was slow and a bit sloppy… I’m confident that they will do better. I will still go back for breakfast and give another update.

Décor: Simple yet clean and bright. Rear seating areas has nice view of nature toward Hudson. It would be good for a small party. Service: Friendly and accommodating. Server was patient and went back to kitchen to follow up on a question about ingredients(allergy). Food: Delicious, fresh, twist of chef’s originality on classic diner food. I had the French Onion Soup(full-bodied, not too sweet); Cranberry Chicken Salad with a side of onion rings. Filling-to-bread ratio could have been more generous but overall a superior sandwich. Onion rings were crisp and not greasy. Don’t bother with ketchup– they taste great just the way he kitchen makes them. I would come back. I hope this place overthrows the restaurant karma of the previous diners at this location. This place is hands-down better than he other area diners.

This morning, we decided to return here for breakfast and were not disappointed. I had some french toast called Banana Frankie and words cannot begin to describe what my taste buds are experiencing. If I were on death row, this may be the dish that I’d have as a last meal… OMGOSH, this is so delicious. Eve had Veggie Omelet and was experiencing a burst of flavors herself… she commented on the fresh ingredients, how they must have been harvested locally this very morning or something like that. She wants to meet the chef who crafted these dishes… I wouldn’t mind shaking his hand. Wow. The waiter Mark did not miss a beat… my coffee cup never went below halfway point. His service and skills demonstrate his experience. I’m glad we returned for breakfast and encourage you to try it out too…

OK. went back to try it again. We had spinach pie and pancakes. The spinach pie special was good and priced OK. The pancakes were nothing special. I do not understand why the cooks around here can not take the time to fold in the egg whites. So I guess this place is OK… it’s a diner. .not a great one, just a normal diner.

I’m giving this place 4 starts because I’ve only been here once*** We ordered a cheese and bacon omelette, sweet potato pancakes and a Tex mex omelette. Everything was great! The service was amazing, very attentive staff. We will definitely be coming back for lunch! The sweet potato pancakes were awesome, very light, fluffy and unique.

I give them credit, this location has historically been a difficult void to fill, as MANY diners have come and gone here before DD’s. With that being said, I really enjoyed my experience, the place has a new-age Americana diner feel to it, but the menu is fairly concise and it seems to offer classic fare, and some healthier, trendier options as well. I ordered the sweet potato pancakes(with sliced bananas on the side) and while it wasn’t necessarily the most gracefully plated dish, I was really quite surprised by how delicious the pancakes were. The servers were attentive, they continually came over and offered refills on our waters and my coffee. The person at the register was also quite friendly and overheard me complaining about being cold(more so from being outside than it being chilly in the diner), and actually turned on the heat for me, a kind gesture! Overall the portions, service, and prices were fair, I left full and satisfied with what I ate, so really no complaints. The experience was lit and I’m definitely going to come back and devour some more pancakes.

So living in Croton and kind of limited to where to go out and eat, we got excited when a new place was opening up in the area. Tried this place on Saturday because of all the hype about this new age diner opening. First, the parking lot had narrow spot making parking and pulling out difficult. As were were being seated we noticed that the booths were nice and comfortable. We ordered one of the specialty burgers, as we waited we got some popcorn complimentary but was wondering where the movie was. Secondly, while our server was nice, not very knowledgeable of the menu and seemed disorganized. Thirdly, the burger was very greasy and just fell apart. Also, was unsure of what ketchup I was using since it was in a plasic red bottle. I will give this place two stars and will try again since they are new. But for now — dissapointed.

They just opened. The service was nice. The bacon is delicious. The coffee is very good. I asked for eggs over easy and they were too well done. This is a common mistake. There were a couple of other things wrong too but not anything unforgivable and they made it right quickly. There was a mean old man in the booth next to me who kept going on about how he sent his eggs back twice for not being well done enough but I believe he is just that type of pain in the ass. I’m truly hoping that service and quality will improve because it’s a nicely renovated space and is convenient to the neighborhood. And so I’m wishing good things for DDs I’ll weigh in again after they have a few months under their belts to see if service and quality of listening to customer instructions improves. The price is par with other diners around but DD’s has a lot of work to do if they are to compete with the long standing places North and South of them. I guess what I’m trying to say is What are you going to bring DIFFERENTLY to stand out from your competition and keep from closing like the last several places in this spot? Time to step things up a bit DD But I’m rootin for you. Good Luck!

Really glad to see this place open. the food was great, portions sizable, and the service was excellent. Basically like a modern interpretation of classic american diner. However, unlike many diners, the menu isn’t 200 pages, the food is prepared and plated nicely and the grease is kept to a minimum. A welcome addition.
