Service was wonderful. However, the food just didn’t impress. Restroom had no soap which led me to believe the employees may not have been washing their hands.

Only a 4 star rating only because my party was seated next to some know it alls from New York were«everything is better». If you put gold on the plate in front of these folks it would not satisfy them. Once again, snow birds looking for a free meal or just complaining about everything. Anyway, I consider Pecks old Florida on the Gulf of Mexico fish camp. If you like seafood this is the spot. Nothing fancy except good service and excellent seafood. Beautiful outdoor seating area looking at the Gulf of Mexico can’t be beat. Indoors this time of year is crazy most nights and especially weekends. The mostly young staff hustles to be of service but the kitchen only churns out the food as fast as they can. The snowbirds who have to be in bed by 8:00PM or else get very upset and complain but when the food arrives it is seafood paradise. Tonight I had the special which was stuffed grouper which I blackened. Big portion of correctly prepared real gulf grouper with hush puppies, potato and slaw. Outstanding! Certainly worth the zig zag 9 mile drive West of 19 to get to the restaurant.

We met friends for dinner with a 5:00 reservation. Quite a beautiful setting and way off the main road. The food was excellent and service as well. I asked a question about one of the sides and the waitress comped it for us to try. By the time we left, the restaurant was packed and people were waiting in line. Definitely go early and definitely make reservations.

Great seafood and service. Grouper was outstanding. Peel and eat spicy shrimp was delicious. Nice atmosphere on the water. Our waitress warned us about the bugs as we wanted to sit outside Andover us inside to make us more comfortable. I’d come back!

After reading the reviews of others, I had high expectations. One reviewer said it was a «hit or miss» when going there. We got there on a «miss» night. The atmosphere was ok. Sort of diner-ish and dimly lit(it was after dark when we arrived). But it looked clean. The place appeared to be run by a bunch of 20-somethings who were rather unpolished and more interested in themselves than providing good service. Did not feel terribly welcome but no one was rude. Hubs had the clam chowder, said it was good. We had an order of onion straws, have had them elsewhere just as good. Service was slow. I had the almond crusted grouper that other reviewers had raved about. It had potential but had been over-fried and was dry. The shrimp sauce(what there was of it) was very good, I wish there had been a suitable serving of it. Hubs had the surf and turf special. The«prime rib» was thin and parts of it were too tough to eat. The lobster tail was good but no dipping sauces or drawn butter were served. Coleslaw was good, homemade and fresh. Fries were your average fries. All in all — it was okay but not all it was cracked up to be. Like I said, maybe we were there on a «miss» night. We won’t go back.

OMG. OMG. OMG. I *LOVED* BEINGHERE! Note that I didn’t just say I loved the food(I DID!), I said I loved being here because sitting outside, having lunch while overlooking the water, out in the middle of nowhere(it really is), it’s so, so relaxing. I think I had three orders of Grouper bites. YUM! The almond-crusted Grouper is definitely a specialty of theirs. It was AMAZING. I also ordered shrimp, which was meh, but to be fair, it was just shrimp in a garlic sauce. So, a plain dish, my fault to order it. Sit outside for a few hours, drink a bunch of beer, eat some unhealthy food, and enjoy life here.

THEBESTRESTAURANTEVER. If you go, Ask for Breigh she was super awesome! I didn’t even need to look at the menu, she sold me just with the daily specials! After we finished ordering she said«okay so I’m gonna get you guys started with some fish net onions«my wife and I looked at each other and were like«sure!» — BOY are they great! The food came out so quick, and it was Hot! I got the Stuffed Grouper(which is my favorite seafood dish of all Time) with 2 crab cakes topped with shrimp and an underlying sauce that I basically wanted to Lick off the bowl when I was done! My wife ordered the Sea Food platter, and she said it was amazing. The best way she could describe it was that if you’ve never had a fried oyster this is the place you want to try it! After We devoured our dinner I was so stuffed, but Breigh sold me on Home made Key Lime Pie — totally worth feeling extra fat for. All in all PLEASE go enjoy this amazing food. SOGOOD. #wewillbeback

I’m surprised people find this place. It’s in the middle of no where. We kept driving and I swear we were going to meet up with Tattoo from Fantasy Island, & hear him say, Da Plane, Da Plane! It took about 9 miles off of the street where we were on to finally run into it. It’s right on the water! The view is priceless! This is a seafood and crab farm is what it’s called! Hence, I had to get the crab. Crab is something I’m not versed on. I don’t get to eat it often! It was so good! It was cracked for me, but I still had to use the claw crackers. It had a good flavor, and I was just a mess with my hands when I was done. My hubby had the fried chicken. It was only 2 small pieces! He was pretty disappointed! Reviews consistently say good food, bad service! They need more help. The server who took care of us did the best she could considering she was the only one outside. She was running around with her head cut off. So I’d rather not complain about the slow service! They need more help!

Pros: interesting location with great view and nice scenic ride Cons: service terribly slow — unacceptable because it was 5:00pm and only one other table on deck with us(took 2 hours from time we arrived to time we finished eating); bugs on deck bit us all over; bugs even got in drinks and food; never got refills on water; had to ask for silverware(one table already asked and waitress had to go find one inside, then we asked and she brought back one; she had to go back and track more down); did not have famous crabs they advertise; food was mediocre at best; garlic shrimp had weird minced garlic taste(did not use fresh pressed garlic); shrimp tough; son ordered Caesar salad with meal and it was brought after main entrée Definitely not worth the drive

Had the fish sandwich with fish of the day grouper. Delicious. Coleslaw was extremely good and hush puppies were small and crisp, just as I like them. Fishnet onion rings with horseradish sauce to die for! This was our first time, but we will be back!

I have been coming here for YEARS — since it was a scary place. It just keeps getting better and better. When you’ve been to a place as often as I have, over the length of time that I have — it can be hit or miss. Today was wonderful making up for the costly experience at Vintage on 5th last night. Sunday lunch we took a nice, unhurried drive down«real Florida» scenic road. We started with complimentary onion straws that were instantly inhaled. With sauce, without sauce– they were fried perfection. Hubby had the lunch portion of fried shrimp with cole slaw and onion rings. Others had the fried grouper sandwich with French fries and cole slaw. The fried shrimp were outstanding and looked nothing like a lunch portion. The meal came with huge, 3 bite shrimp– very clean, butterflied and lightly fried to per-serious-fection. The slaw was finely minced in a mayo based dressing. It was very good. The onions rings were OK but get the straws. The grouper sandwiches were fall off the bun big served on a brioche bun. The fries, skinny and good. Now — for my work of art — the almond fried grouper. Nice piece of fish that had a coating of flour and ground almonds. Flakey, moist. Perfection on a plate. You have got to try this out of the way slice of old Florida.

Searched in the area for seafood restaurants that were open late, as we had just watched the sunset at 8:30 pm from a nearby pier and needed a place open past 9 pm. After driving for 20+ minutes on what may have been the most winding swamp road, we finally got there one hour before close at 10:00 pm on a Wednesday night. There were some patrons but plenty of seating. Our waitress could not have been more nice. She brought us free hand breaded onion straws they call«fishnets». Yum. Other than that, we had: –New England clam chowder: coulda fooled me, thought we were in Boston. Not too thick, not too thin, full of juicy clams that didn’t taste fishy at all. More clams than potatoes… My preference! –crab stuffed mushrooms: pretty solid, wish they would have been a tad warmer –fresh catch which today was the grouper: bf had it blackened. He doesn’t even like seafood yet gobbled it all down. It tasted very fresh not fishy at all. The seasoning was flavorful but not too spicy. –almond crusted grouper: delicious. The almonds were a nice contrast. It was fried and with a rich sauce on top and therefore very filling. This could easily be split between two people. –coleslaw: this side is never usually the star of the show but something about this blend was magical. As homemade as it gets. –other accompaniments like fries, onion rings and hush puppies all great. I’m surprised that the reviews aren’t better. We had an awesome experience! Food came out quick and service was great. Wish there were more places like this near our neck of the woods. We feasted for $ 50. Can’t beat it.

Peck’s has a great waterfront Tiki Bar dining area with a great view. We ordered the crab cakes and two orders of the fried oyster«burgers». The crab cakes had a good amount of crab and nice texture and seasoning. The oyster burgers were very good as well, with big portions of oysters fried so they were juicy inside with a nice crunch in the coating. The fries and onion rings were good, but cornmeal hush puppies really stood out. Normally I end up not eating hush puppies, but these were very flavorful with the cornmeal and spices. The servers were excellent, and attentive. The food was very slow to come out, especially for most of it coming from a deep fryer. Peck’s is out in the middle of nowhere, but if you’re in the area it is worth stopping in.

Man nehme den Catch of the Day.

Came here with my fiancé’s dad who was ranting and raving about it. I got the crab cake dinner which was good if you like the taste of week old leftover thanksgiving stuffing with no crab. There are better hole in the wall places with fresher seafood around.
