We wanted to try something different from our usual Chinese joints. I’ve been here before several years ago and it was pretty good. It’s still pretty good. Nothing special, but OK. We dined in and the décor was, shall we say, functional. Service OK, prices fair, and portions adequate.

The first couple times we ordered from there(over the last 9 months) it was pretty serviceable food for what it is… cheap take-out Chinese food. The last 2 times though have been stomach churning and tasteless. Most notably the last time. One of the more expensive items, the«Chef’s Special» General Tso’s Shrimp was straight out of a horror movie. A gummy, gelatinous mess of undercooked breading and overcooked shrimp(Think the final scene in Eraserhead). After attempting 2 bites we decided to venture no further and focus on the veggie lo-mein was was basically some noodles that were seasoned with tap water and a couple vegetables thrown in. Our final verdict was«I think we need to take a break from Hibachi for a while.»

Pleasant surprise! We’ve been looking for a local Asian takeout place and none have even been worthy of a second try. Based on the Unilocal reviews, we gave this one a shot yesterday. We placed a decent size takeout order(enough to feed 4 adults/2 teens). The woman who took the order over the phone sounded very busy since she put me on hold twice to answer other calls. Never-the-less, she took my order and promptly gave us a total and a 20-minute quote. We arrived about 15 – 20 minutes later, and ended up waiting another 10 – 15 minutes for the order. While waiting, it was clear that this place thrives on carry out business as there were no customers eating inside the restaurant despite plenty of room to do so. Upon further inspection, it almost looked like they weren’t interested in having customers stay to eat since many of the tables were occupied by miscellaneous items. The food was very well priced, $ 56 to feed the group I earlier mentioned. I had General Tso’s chicken, which was just the right amount of crispy and sweet, but not spicy enough for me! It was still very good! Others with me had Shrimp & Broccoli and Beef Egg Foo Young… no complaints! My wife had vegetable Mei Fun, which she liked a lot! The kids ate sweet and sour chicken and chicken fried rice, which was all eaten, so that’s a great sign! I did try the vegetable egg rolls and echo another comment that they tasted a bit strange. Probably the only true negative thing I found with the food. The wait for our food was not as quoted, but in the end was worthwhile! I love a great General Tso’s chicken and this one was almost there. I’ll be ordering up a spicier version from this place again in the near future!

6:08pm — called and placed a deliver order. 7:10pm — called to see how much longer it would be. «Driver just left, it will be just a few mins.» 7:40pm — still no food. Call. «Oh! You are on Quincy Ave? I gave driver wrong address. He will come there now. I said, «um, he left with my food almost 45 mins ago… It’s going to be cold.» Her solution: «The next time you order, I can give you a full credit.» Me: «Absolutely not. Please cancel my order.»

Singapore Mei Fun is the only thing I’ll ever need to order ever again. It is awesome. Spicy and spicy! Great noodles. Loaded with shrimp, beef and chicken. The steamed dumplings are also delicious. Well done folks. I’ll be back for sure!

My boyfriend and I went to dine-in for a late dinner last night. The overall impression of the interior is that it’s a takeout only place as it’s small inside and not really decorated to be a dine in resturaunt. However I will say that what they lack in presentation they more than make up for in flavor, quality, and quantity. For a resturaunt that is most likely 90% delivery/carryout I would highly recommend you go for dine in as the food is made to order and it comes out steaming hot. I can’t tell you the last time I dined in for Chinese and it was so fresh, and so heat hot I couldn’t eat it right away. You rarely go anywhere even 5 star restaurants and have piping hot food. We ordered chicken egg rolls, shrimp egg rolls, crab rangoon, beef fried rice, and crispy beef. They were all delicious and so fresh. For being a corner resturaunt, I will definitely be coming back for dine in.

I had the shrimp egg foo young, egg roll and California rolls. Everything was well made and tasty. Sushi at Pick N Save is better, though. I thought the egg foo young was balanced and flavorful and had a good gravy. Delivery within a half hour. I will be ordering again.

A true hidden gem. Expectations were set low I mean it’s Cudahy what do you expect. However this is one of the better tasting chinese restaurants I’ve been too. They use a variety of fresh veggies which is a huge plus. Portions are great and prices are even better. From the cabage, mushrooms, celery and everything in between its absolutely delicious. Wonton soup and veggie low mein are my go to options here.

Whoohoo, this place stays open until 10pm and offers delivery! Love that orders can be placed online. The food arrived promptly, was hot, good sized portions, and was correct. Veggie Lo Mein tasted exactly as expected, and my husband seemed pretty happy with his Kung Pao Chicken. I am super excited about all the Vegetarian«Meat» options offered and can’t wait to explore their menu further. Would definitely order from here again.

Ordered delivery online, and I do not live far from the restaurant. I’d ordered 2 beef chow mein combo plates. I was quoted an arrival of 45 minutes after my order was placed. An hour and 20 minutes after ordering, I called the restaurant only to be told that«The food is almost ready. The food is ready. Sorry.» An hour and 45 minutes after I ordered, the food finally arrives. The egg rolls tasted strange(slightly…fishy at the end?), the rangoon had no crab, and little cream cheese(though that had plenty of sugar in it), the chow *MEIN* had no noodles whatsoever(not even the little crunchy fried things), and the chicken fried rice was very, very bland. You do get a reasonable amount of food for the price… granted, it’s not very good, and you’ll have to wait over double what you’re told. Will never order again.

I get delivery from Hibachi almost once every 2 weeks. The delivery guy is normally really fast and the food is phenomenal. I’ve never picked up and don’t even know if you can eat there, I’ve always done delivery and have never been disappointed.

I’ve ordered from here for delivery a few times. Most have gone well. One took over an hour and a half and a call to the restaurant to be delivered. This wasn’t usual for them so I let it go, but would have liked something to be done, coupons for next time, extra rice, etc. This is by far my favorite Americanized Chinese restaurant in the area. It hits the mark when looking for good crab rangoon or potstickers. The orange chicken is my personal favorite. I’ve tried a little of everything off the menu and it’s all been surprisingly delicious. I can’t speak to the atmosphere of the restaurant or any location related details, but the food is by far the best and I would highly recommend it for delivery if you live nearby.

I’ve finally found a good Chinese takeout spot. I ordered the Mongolian beef(very spicy) & chicken lomein, both were great. The lomein was my favorite tho. I’ve been looking for some good Chinese takeout and I’ve tried a few, and never went back to them, this one is definitely it for me. Oh and you can order online, and pay cash when they deliver! Quick delivery too & everything was hot.

I’m giving Hibachi 4 stars, but it’s being graded on a curve because of the abysmal Chinese take-out options available to me. This is to say Hibachi is pretty damn solid in my book. I’ve overlooked this place for some time, but it started gaining a good reputation amongst friends which was enough reason for me to give it a whirl. And I’m glad I did! Nothing earth-shattering here, but I’ve come away now with some really satisfying meals when that familiar Chinese craving hits. I especially like the Crispy Beef, the Wonton Soup, and the Chicken Fried Rice. They have online ordering which is a bonus, and delivery is prompt and friendly. Nothing really bad to say in my experience… I’m excited to have found this place!

We order take-out often from Hibachi Express. We are always pleased. Love their egg foo yung; it is never greasy. We love their won-ton soup; very light and delicious. We also order the shrimp and vegetables often. The shrimp count is numerous and a good size. The service is excellent and very friendly. Highly recommend.

Last night was our first experience with Hibachi Express. We’ve lived in the area for just over one year; and until now, when we’ve wanted to have Chinese food delivered, we have defaulted to another restaurant, which was much easier to see, since it is prevalent on a main drag. We’ve never been particularly pleased with their food, however(which will be the subject of another review). Last night we got that familiar craving for Chinese food, and I felt determined to find an alternative. So I located Hibachi Express here on Unilocal and read what some folks have had to say. Like many restaurants, the reviews were mixed; but some of the negative remarks had to do with the interior of the restaurant, and our intention was to have the food delivered. To be candid, I don’t care much about the décor of the place, as long as the food is prepared hygienically and it tastes good. So I disregarded some of those comments and gave it a shot. I ordered the Mongolian Chicken, with medium spiciness. My wife ordered the Curry Chicken, making no specification as to spiciness. I placed the order via Hibachi Express’ website, which was easy to navigate(a definite«plus,» since there’s no language barrier regarding order accuracy). I had the option to pay the tip online, which I did, and I was given an estimated arrival time of 45 minutes out, which was acceptable to me. 25 minutes later(wow!), the order arrived. The delivery man was pleasant and the food was PIPING hot(almost too hot to handle). All of this was a good sign to me. Better yet was the food — both entrees were absolutely delicious, and the portions were large enough to provide leftovers for 1 or 2 more meals(something I value). My wife went so far as to remark that this might have been the best Chinese entrée she has ever eaten — and that is saying a lot! This may be stating the obvious(and I wish it weren’t), but there was no «mystery meat» in either dish. This is one of my problems with some Chinese restaurants — the meat is very heavily battered, then deep fried; and when you cut it open, you wonder whether you’re looking at chicken, or pork, or soy, or cartilage, or skin, or fat, or who-knows-what(?). Even the thought of it turns my stomach, and when it finds its way onto my plate, I lose my appetite. Happily, there is no such problem with Hibachi Express. I presume the meat is frozen(to maintain fresh meat and seafood would be almost impossible), but it is so good, it might as well be fresh. And the seasonings were marvelous. Often, I find I must add soy sauce, chili paste or Sriracha to a dish, but my Mongolian Chicken was absolutely perfect the way it was. Some might find it heavy on the onions, but I like it that way — if you don’t, make a note to specify a modification when you order this dish. In short, we have no complaints about Hibachi Express, but only high praise. Note, this is the first and only time we have patronized this establishment(so far), and I will update this review if our next experience should be different in any way. Now, go to and place an order!

I gave this place 4 stars, not simply based off the food, but off of the fact that compared to all other Americanized Chinese food places here in MKE, this one hit the spot. And this will be our go-to Chinese from here on out. With that being said, we ordered online. Simple, easy, fast. Food arrived in about 45 minutes, which the site tells you that it’ll take 45 minutes. I don’t have a problem with this as long as the food is hot/warm, which it was. Prices are as expected. Delivery guy was nice. On to the food: they don’t offer pork. Now this is the third Chinese place we’ve tried. 2 out of 3 didn’t offer pork. WHY is that?! Pork is our go-to protein. Honestly? That was pretty much the only gripe that I had with this experience. We ordered the dinner General Tso’s and Sweet and Sour. The portions are a good size and flavor was spot on. The chicken In both our meals was cooked/fried perfectly. An egg roll and 2 Crab Rangoon came with the dinners; both were good and not greasy. The egg roll at first bite was odd but then as the flavors melted together I quite liked it. Add duck sauce and it was pretty good. The dinners also have a side of chicken fried rice. The rice was a tad on the dryer side, however good. Surprisingly the chicken pieces are big and tender. We also ordered a large side of Shrimp Lo Mein. All the shrimp was on the bottom, but it was good, none-the-less. Like I said. We had a good experience. Will continue to hit this place up for our Chinese cravings. It’s worth the shot. The pictures aren’t that great because it was dark and the flash made it seem funny. Meh.

Great online service, delicious food! Ordered online instead of calling and received request promptly and food was as ordered and delicious! Only criticism is the sushi was sandwiched with hot food so it wasn’t cold and no utensils. Delectable noodles for a great outdoor dinner! Would order for go-to Chinese anytime.

Heard some decent things from friends who had been here. So I decided to stop in for a quick carry out lunch. The place inside left a lot to be desired. Is the restaurant a place for storage? It sure looks like it. The cook was making my food in flip flops. In terms of the food, the sesame chicken was dry, but the rice was alright. The eel roll that I purchased was missing two pieces of eel! Pretty disappointed.

When the restaurant came under new ownership last year, it quickly became our favorite Chinese option. The fact you can get a limited variety of sushi rolls is also a nice option. You are hard-pressed to beat the value of their lunch or dinner combos– a huge entrée, side of chicken fried rice, crab rangoons and an egg roll– all for 8 or 9 dollars. The quality is great, you can tell everything is made to order, and the people who work here are beyond friendly. This is the perfect example of how looks can be deceiving.
