So disappointed … Ordered for the second time. First time was pretty good so gave it a second chance tonight. Ordered at 530 pizza arrived at 715. Pizza was cold. Not even remotely warm. We had to reheat. Furthermore half the pizza was smooshed to one side of the box. Not happy. They ruined national pizza day for me.

This place continues to serve the best, most authentic NY-style pizza on the Westside. Every time we make the mistake of going somewhere else, usually because we’re hungry while elsewhere, one of us will say, «Wish we’d gone to LaRocco’s.» Both sauce & crust are first-rate.

The Whitestone pizza from here is my second favorite New York style pizza. It is ridiculously yummy. With mounds of delicious ricotta cheese piled on top, this truly is one amazing pizza. And if you don’t want to order a whole pizza(which I can’t imagine why you wouldn’t), they offer up pizza by the slice. As soon as you order up a slice or two, they slightly toast it so that the cheese is all melty and the crust is perfectly crisp. Mmm mmm mmm. Wish I had a LaRocco’s close to where I live.

Truly one of LA’s hidden gems for those who love a thin slice of pie. NY style flavor, NY style atmosphere.

One of very few places in LA that make calzones. Great pizza for LA, too! Closest to a NY slice I’ve found here. Great with ranch or hot sauce to dip. Although, the ranch doesn’t taste like they make it there. If they added some real buffalo wings with homemade blue cheese it would have everything an east-coaster might expect. Could maybe stay open later. At least on a Saturday!

I had a slice of sausage and pepperoni pizza here that was part of a delivery for an office lunch. It was surprisingly good, certainly one of the best slices of NY-style pizza I’ve consumed in LA at this price level. The only negative was that it was a little on the oily side that I had to dab away with a paper napkin. The garlic knots were great too.

I’m so glad that LA, and in my backyard nonetheless, has a pizzeria offering a truly authentic New York slice! I’ve had lots of NY-style pizza in Southern California but nothing beats New York and I’m not just being a snob about it. No one seems to get the crust or the sauce right… but LaRocco’s nails it. I popped in for a cheese slice last weekend, and was pleased that the crust was thin but perfectly crunchy on the bottom, and the sauce had a robust tomato flavor and lots of it. They have a 2 slices plus a drink special daily for $ 7, but I’m glad they still sold me a single slice for only $ 3 because I wanted a quick meal on the run and couldn’t sit down and enjoy it. They gave me the option to take it to go in either a box or paper plate(another good sign of authenticity) so I got it on a plate so that I could walk and eat, folding the plate and pizza with each bite. It’s semi-confusing that this place is located almost directly next to Rocco’s Tavern. Which came first??? I can’t wait to go back!

Yummy pizza about three dollars a slice! I even threw in some free bread balls for being our first time here. Love this place

On par with another West LA pizza gem — the Coop. This is a great slice of New York style pizza! I love their outdoor seating. They have great lunch specials and pitchers of beers for those that care to indulge. Yum! Love this place. Oh and try the garlic knots.

Pizza is love. Growing up, it would always signify a childhood highlight. Birthday parties, holidays, events at school. Whenever there was a celebratory occasion involved, you knew pizza wouldn’t be too far away. That’s why we all love pizza. Reciprocally, pizza should be made with love. You will not find a better pizza joint on the west side. I don’t know if this owner ships in dirty NY water from the East River or what, but whatever he is doing to make that pizza dough is working. I find myself coming here once or twice a week. Whenever its time for a cheat meal, there’s no other place I’d rather be. I recommend indulging yourself in a slice of the very-not-kosher, un-holy trinity of delicious pig products found on «the Bronx». Order a slide of Garlic Knots and slip into a heavenly food coma. Atmosphere is quaint with no bullshit. It’s a legit pizza place — and not one of these ridiculous build-your-own blasphemies that are popping up all over Culver City.

I tried LaRocco’s Pizzeria for lunch a couple of days ago when I was working in Culver City. LaRocco’s Pizzeria is a small place that is tucked inside main street opposite the Grand Casino Bakery & Café. At the peak lunch hour the entire restaurant was empty with only 2 other people inside. Coupled with the $ 6.99 two slices plus drink special that was prominently advertised outside the restaurant made me question my decision but I decided to try it out anyway. I got a slice of white stone pizza(which has ricotta, mozzarella, parmesan cheese and fresh garlic) and I think Puttanesca pizza but I’m not sure. Despite the cheap cost and near empty restaurant, I can report that this place is legit. I mean really good pizza. The whitestone was clean and crisp. The Puttanesca was one of the best vegetarian pizza’s that I’ve had. Both pizza’s were New York style but without the associated grease. Both the pies did not wilt when lifted due to the correct thickness of the crust. Sometimes you find hidden gems by accident and LaRocco’s Pizzeria was one of those times. Price wise this has to be the cheapest meal that you can have in Culver City. This is one of the few places that I’ve been back to during my short work stint in Culver City. My only complaint would be that they don’t have chicken as topping for the pizza so I’m forced to stick to their vegetarian options.

We couldn’t decide on dinner, Chris had been there before and had their $ 7.00 Special; Slice of Pizza, Salad, Greek or Tossed, and a Soda. There were about 12 different styles, all thin crust, my favorite, I don’t like thick crust unless I’m in Chicago. I opted for the Pepperoni, Meatball, and Mushroom. I asked for Jalapeños to be added. Of course it’s not the same, they didn’t blend into the cheese. FYI: I don’t care for Pepperoni! The best part of the visit was meeting the owners; Sue, George, and Paul. We had a great conversation after dinner, outside enjoying the lightning over Culver City. I’ll go back, try other styles and I hope they are there for conversation.

Delivery service decent at best. Going there makes the experience significantly better. This place is a hidden gem. Park at the structure next to Bank of America(which is free for the first two hours) and walk through the alley. Garlic knots are amazing and only $ 2. I usually buy like 30. Give you plenty of sauce. You could honestly get full off of that alone. The pizza is delicious and pretty big for what you’re paying. Authentic NYC style pizza. Family friendly.

Garlic Knots for less than $ 2!!! Yes! This is my favorite pizza spot I’ve found since I moved to LA last year. They have fantastic New York style pizza with authentic Brooklyn style toppings. My personal favorite is the LaRocco special pizza which comes with pepperoni, meatballs, mushrooms, and a touch of garlic. They have several delicious vegetarian options as well, gotta love the Puttanesca! Spinach e Pomadoro is to die for! My favorite thing to do is to go to the restaurant itself and get one of their deals where they have either two slices of pizza with a soft drink for $ 7, two slice of pizza with a draft beer for $ 8, or one slice of pizza and a salad and a soft drink for $ 7. Delivery is always a great option two, but the pizzas although large, are pretty expensive, We are talking at least the $ 20 range or so to feed 3 people. One downside to this place, is that sometimes they get a little excited about toppings and the pizza can get a little soggy. It’s hard to find the perfect balance, but it doesn’t take away from the flavor, just grab a fork and eat it while it’s hot! It disappoints me that LaRocco’s seems to be consistently empty compared to Rocco’s Tavern next door. The pizza tastes so much better at LaRocco’s. The obvious reason though is likely because LaRocco’s doesn’t have televisions everywhere and happy hour deals. Gotta love LaRocco’s!

I’ve been meaning to update my review for awhile but have been busy. After my initial review posted, someone from LaRocco’s called and left a message apologizing for the rude girl who answered their phone that day our order was delivered late. I really appreciated the call. We do really enjoy their pizza and to be fair, we probably will eat there again. Their pizza is very delicious(1 star). They did call to make up for the rude girl on the phone(1 star). When we’ve eaten at the restaurant or ordered pick up, we haven’t had an incident(2 star). So I’ve modified my review to 4 stars. I don’t think we will order delivery any time soon as we do lead a busy life with kids and when we’re told the pizza would get to us in 30 – 40 minutes, we don’t want to be waiting over an hour for pizza we end up having to reheat. Especially when the kids are starving by the time the cold pizza arrives.(Minus 1 star because I don’t feel I want to chance their delivery service again). I hope whoever that girl was changes how she treats customers on the phone. I get things can get busy at work but she can at least apologize if a delivery went wrong instead of making sarcastic comments.

This pizza arrived when we were working late and starving. It was a large order and they accommodated. Not sure what was ordered for us but looking at their menu, I would have preferred an option like The Puttanesca to the variations we had which can be summed up as Meat, Meatballs, More Meat and the ever popular Did We Mention We Have Meat? I blame whoever on our team ordered it. Sauce and cheese were good but the topping overload made the crust soggy. A little too heavy for my tastes, although the ones I managed to snag with vegetables seemed good. You just really have to be careful when your slogan is «A little slice of New York.» Good? Yes. New York? C’man!

Came here because I am still trying to find a great NYC style pizza… parking is hard here, its either going to be street parking or garage parking. once you find parking, the pizzeria is very small inside. i ordered the 2 slice pizza combo which comes with a drink. the pizza tasted okay, it was a bit on the cold side, they reheat the pizza into the oven, so not fresh. overall, it was a-okay. it did not wow me, and the combo was about $ 7 with tax. OVERALL: was not surprised by the pizza, not sure if i would come back. my search for a great NYC style pizza continues…
