Apparently they dont serve white people. Waited about 10 minutes with wait staff walking by constantly and tending to all the Chinese tables. Didn’t look at me once. Shameful. Really doesn’t feel good.

Had the spicy boiled fish and eggplant with pork. Both quite excellent. A lot of flavor, but not TOO spicy. Also, good atmosphere… rather quiet compared to the usual Chinese places. Service was very good…

This place always seemed pretty empty, so I always thought it wasn’t much too look forward to, but I was pleasantly surprised after dining here today. It was pretty empty today(which is a plus in it’s own respect, as there was no wait!), which made for a nice and quiet meal. Plentiful items to choose from on the menu, and all for a very decent price. We tried a bit of everything — beef, pork, shrimp, tofu, and fried rice — and everything was well-made, tasted great and of a solid portion size, especially the sauteed shrimp! A whole plate of sauteed shrimp for only $ 12.99(and no cabbage or other filler vegetables on the bottom to make it seem like you get more)? Count me in! Spiced tofu(cold appetizer) was a bit different from what I expected(less soy sauce than other places), but still good and cheap! Black pepper beef was awesome, with lots of sauteed bell peppers and onions to pair with the tender beef. Very good amount for the price. The salt and pepper pork was also very well made — all the pieces had the bones removed, and there were a few slices of jalapenos to add flavor(but easy to pick them out too). Sausage fried rice was a very decent portion size for $ 8.99 — we split among 4 people and still had some left over. Only drawback is the sausage is the harder/tougher dried kind(HK style?) instead of the Taiwanese style, but overall, still a good dish. Bean curb wrap came with 5 pieces over a bed of bok choy. Tasty and worth a try, but the meat was definitely more worth it! They also have family dinner with preset menus, but if you’re not in a rush, I think mixing and matching your own dishes is the better way to go. There’s a lot of large round tables here, so it would be a great place to do family gatherings/celebrations, etc without feeling overcrowded. The foot traffic is pretty light here, so I imagine it also wouldn’t be overly noisy either. Service was great and they even gave fortune cookies with the check. :) All in all, good quality food, spacious seating(especially for a Chinese restaurant), good service and very decent pricing. Definitely recommended!

Fantastic Chinese food. Very authentic. We had chili chicken, boiling fish with assorted veggie, bean curd wrap, and stream pork. Friendly waitress, very helpful on suggesting great food.

I guess they are in the high end side of the Chinese restaurant. Clean, friendly and quiet. Food is about $ 1 – 2 more pricy than my neighborhood(east San Jose), but I’m willing to pay this extra for the overall eating experience. The servers are very friendly. I took my 9 months twin sons to the restaurant. After the lunch, the server offered me to hold 1 boy to my car so that I don’t need to open the big stroller and fold it to the trunk. It was really helpful. I think I will come back again for another relaxing lunch.

I hate the fact that it closes on Tuesday. However, that is not why I gave it one star. The portions are too small. It’s not worth the price. If you want to to-go your food, ask to put the food in yourself. I feel like they do not put in all your food and sauce for whatever reason.

Excellent services, the owner of this restaurant is enthusiastic. There are several big tables for dozen people. Grab a green onion pancake here, It’s always the popular one. By the way, the owner sometime serve some authentic Szechwan spicy foods for complimentary. I can’t wait to get some in next time.

I came here with my friend for Sunday dinner. we ordered beef wrap, pork hock, and pea sprout from its Unilocal photos. they are all good. pork hock is my favorite, but it is too much for two girls. we have to pack half to go.

Lan’s garden is a nice quiet place to go to for a meeting! The environment is clean and just feel really comfortable, not to mention the customer service is way above the regular Chinese restaurants. We order the beef wraps, garlic green beans, and pearl pork! I have to said beef wraps is one of my favorite. I will always order this if I come the next time! I wish the portion could be a little bigger because you will want more cuz it’s so good!

We love this Restraunt ! The food is prepared with quality, the service is good. Definitely a good place for family and friends gathering. Highly recommend for group dining. Our family favorite is the chilly wonton, pot stickers, walnut shrimp, Sichuan chilly chicken, beef wrap pancake and steam fish!

Came here with my family, we are not disappointed! The food and service really speak for themselves, Our favorites: Chicken lettuce cup: seriously, this is the best lettuce cup I ever had. Kung pao chicken: it should be called«Kung pow chicken», the incredible spicy taste experience will smack you upside your head. Mongolian beef: in all of the world, lan’s garden has, hands down, sliced tender beef filet sautéed with Ginger and scallions in a savory seasoned sauce, it’s just YUMMY The food was scrumptious, i started with hot sour soup and egg rolls, stuffed with my belly full of Chinese goodness and then rolled out of there. I really look forward to come back there and try some new stuff !

This is pretty much the same as the Potsticker King it replaced, except the food is a little bit better. It still serves potstickers(optional: that or spring rolls) with the lunch special, except that they’re a little less doughy and more crispy. The Mongolian beef(or lamb, which they also still have) is lighter and tastier than before. Weirdly slow service on my latest lunch visit. To their enormous credit, they warned me of this when I ordered, and brought the soup pretty fast. Still, when 15 minutes later they come to take the soup bowl away and say my order is about to come, I don’t expect it to take another 8 minutes after that. This only happened once, so I’ll definitely try again. General rating: a good neighborhood restaurant.

Lan Garden replaced the longstanding ‘Potsticker King’ space and it seems like they picked up where Potsticker King left off. The interior didn’t change and the menu looks the same too. The food here is average; nothing too wow-ing or mindblowing. They have some good dishes like their Orange Chicken, Garlic Eggplant, Green Onion Pancakes, etc, but I would pass on their Hot&Sour Soup(too watery and not hot or sour enough) and Oyster Omelette(not gluttonous) This place is a nice option if you’re wanting to eat with a large group as they have many large round tables. And the service was friendly and really prompt in refilling our water glasses. The food also came out really quickly which is always a plus.

We decided to give this place a try after recommendations from a friend — she had suggested the spicy wonton(appetizer) and the green onion beef roll. We got that as well as the honey walnut shrimp, garlic string beans, basil eggplant, fried egg fried rice, pot stickers and salt and pepper fish. Everyone in the family picked so it was a mix match of various things. Highlights — the spicy wonton! AMAZING! I almost order another but knew we had too much food. LOVED the eggplant and garlic string beans! cooked perfectly — not over cooked and I loved the fresh basil that came with the eggplant! Also another winner was the honey walnut shrimp. the shrimp were HUGE and so meaty! Cooked perfectly with the sweet crunchy walnuts! I loved the salt and pepper fried fish — tender crispy«meaty» fish — so light and flaky. Issue was the salt and pepper weren’t evenly distributed so my daughter had a bland one and I had an overly salted one… What was so so was the green onion beef roll… I loved that it wasn’t overly oily but it lacked flavor — maybe needed more sauce and veggies? Also the fried rice was just okay — didn’t get very much but it worked… Service was great but then again we were there at 5:40 on a Sunday — we had brunch only and was starving! All in all I’d try it again and try a few more different dishes…

Unfortunately the longtime restaurant, Pot Sticker King, closed as of October/November 2015. At the same location, a new restaurant(new owner, new menu) has opened under the name Lan’s Garden, which I have been to twice. For lunch I had a large bowl of wonton soup that was bland and not at all tasty; the prior restaurant’s wonton soup was quite good so I am guessing that there is a new cook. On another day I had honey walnut prawns that the waiter served without any walnuts; and he did not explain or apologize! The new restaurant has reduced the lunch menu, has increased prices a sizable amount, and the food is not as good. I will not be eating there again. Oh, and the number of people eating at Len’s Garden is a lot fewer than at Pot Sticker’s so I think they have lost a lot of customers.

Came here for lunch today b/c One Pot wasn’t open… oh goodness, where did pot sticker king go? Pot sticker king was SO much better. It’s gone absolutely downhill. Service was friendly but the food was very mediocre. We ordered the mongolian beef, mapo tofu, and stir fried veggies lunch special. They all came with hot and sour soup which had way too much pepper in it and was sour but still lacking flavor — definitely not a good hot and sour soup(I’m a hot & sour soup connoisseur, it’s my thing ;) haha) Mongolian beef was not bad! Mapo tofu was absolute flavorless. Veggies were tasted as if they had been dunked in soy sauce and brought out to the table. The pot stickers were nowhere as good as Pot Sticker King’s too. They tasted more like pan fried dumplings rather than pot stickers. Overall, I definitely won’t be back. It wasn’t TERRIBLE but it’s definitely not somewhere I’d come to voluntarily. If you’re looking for good chinese food, head to Hong Fu or Joy Luck. Way better than here.

Came here for lunch here today in the rainy weather. I ordered the green beans with beef and rice. As this is a lunch special, it only cost 12 bucks with soup and pot stickers. The food tasted awesome. The greens beans were fried well and the beef was flavorful. The portion was also big enough for me to split into 2 meals which makes it really worth it. Would definitely come here again.
