Excellent Sichuan cuisine. Takeout took 10 minutes. I got Water-Boiled Fish(水煮鱼), a classic Sichuanese dish, plus Sautéed String Beans(干煸豆角) and steamed rice. Everything was perfectly prepared, inexpensive and packed properly(really important for the Fish, I have been to places where everything is a mess by the time I got home). This will be my go-to Sichuan place from now on.

This place is really good for someone who can’t eat touch spicy but like to eat spicy for the heck of it :) I think I like all their dishes especially the dry noodles. Place is also very clean.

Awesome place… highly recommended. They have good sichuan food at a very reasonable price. The food here is not too salty or heaving like other places. Highly recommend. Good service and owner is very nice.

Best sichuan food near Santa Clara. It has a very traditional taste. NOT American Style.

5÷29÷16: Firstly, this place ISNOTNOTNOTCLOSED. I know Unilocal says it is, but obviously it ain’t cause I just ate here a few days ago. I didn’t notice the day of, but the next day I did see the«closed» banner next to the restaurant’s name on Unilocal, and that people have reported it closed, but it’s not. But that said, it really should be. This was some of the worst Szechuan food I’ve had up here, and they also made a huge mistake on the menu(see below) – not the very worst food, but close to it. Also, it took a long time to get our food, and they served the famous Szechuan appetizer last, and very late. Just was a crappy dining experience overall… 1. Beef Combination $ 6.99: This would be the standard Szechuan appetizer that everyone always gets. Can’t really eat at such a place without getting this. And normally, restaurants know that this, if there ever is a Chinese«appetizer», this would be it, and must be served first. Well, you guessed it, served dead last. And not just last, like 10min after we got all the other dishes. Wtf. Alright, besides that, it didn’t taste as good as others I’ve had. Can’t remember specifics except that it wasn’t good. 4⁄10 2. Szechuan Special Bowl $ 9.99: THIS one was probably the most egregious of the meal. So, they thoughtfully included a picture of this dish in the menu that looked gorgeous, EXCEPT it looks absolutely nothing like what was served. And we’re not talking the difference between say a Big Mac on McDonald’s boards compared to what you get – I mean ITISNOTTHESAMEFOOD. What was shown was sliced roasted beef piled into a round mound, sitting in Szechuan soup and topped with peppers. Great. What did we get? Some housemade spam meat, and soggy fried Chinese-style ribs in a light broth sauce. Zero resemblance. So I called the waiter over and asked what I ordered(thinking maybe I made a mistake). He came back with the menu and pointed to, yes, the Szechuan Special Bowl of sliced roasted beef in red Szechuan soup. I was shocked. Floored… Never saw such a clear case of false advertising! Well, as for how it tasted, I guess the spam actually was pretty good. The fried ribs were completely soggy though. Anyway, not sure how to rate this one since it was all messed up, so I’ll just leave it as 0⁄10 3. Sliced Beef w/Vegetable Chili Pepper $ 8.99: Sauce sucked. Not spicy. Not numbing. No thick layer of red blissful oil. Weaksauce. Beef was typical over-marinated stuff. 3⁄10 4. Fish Fillet w/Vegetable Chili Pepper $ 8.99: Fish itself was standard, like most places. But like the beef, the sauce sucked. 3⁄10 5. Dry String Beans $ 7.99: The beans were overcooked and no longer crunchy, but I guess the flavor was fine – cooked in the standard way. 3⁄10 So, don’t come. It’s not closed, but if people have taste, it will be soon. 1⁄5 #szechuan #sichuan #chinese

The best Szechuan flavor I have ever ate in my 2 years in the U.S. And this is my first time leaving a review because it is so good.

Ordered two dishes: Szechuan Fried Pork and Dry Fried Shredded Beef. Neither dish looked liked their pictures on the menu; in fact, they were nearly identical in appearance. The main ingredient of both that day was celery – as if the chef had no other vegetables available.(But the restaurant is located next door to a fully-stocked Lion supermarket.) Both dishes were steeped in chili oil – not a bad thing, perhaps. The main distinguishing ingredient was that the beef dish had numerous peppercorns to the point of overkill. 3 stars for the mala here; maybe we just didn’t order well? Note: this is not the Sichuan Chili(or now Chef Z’s?) that replaced Chef Ma’s.

I do not eat Szechuan food much and was a bit traumatized by Da Sichuan in Palo Alto so take my review lightly. We tried a few different dishes and we thought the duck pot was the best. The spice level was perfect even though it appears there are a lot of chilis tossed in there. If they were a bit lighter on the salt it may have bumped up to 4 stars for me.

Fantastic food! Good service, excellent choices on menu. They have some of the most unique items I have seen(my perspective) and while I didn’t find it quite spicy to my taste it may be for most. We ordered Sichuan Tengjiao Fish Filet 川味藤椒鱼片***(yummmm), $ 9,99 Vegetarian Mapo Tofu 素麻婆豆腐(more yummm) and suteed string beans. Have to go there again to try other fish, crab and chicken dishes and chowmein… oh my mouth waters as I write this. One bad. too much MSG or salt. I think MSG. So I am going to remember to request to go easy on that :-)

Not a lot of Chinese restaurants are truly sensitive to a vegan’s dietary demands. The restaurant staff however took genuine interest in knowing about the assortment of vegetables I was after in my entrée. They prepared it exactly how I wanted, in fact even better. The portion size was generous too. The store ambiance was pleasantly peaceful too. Will visit again.

I really wanted to order the«spicy fish» cuz what my experience from CBI kitchen in Milpitas was really tasty, depth and delicious with quality but my friend don’t like it cuz he’s from Taiwan! Service: get to the point and efficient! 1. 蒜泥白肉的sauce 最好吃, but the 白肉没CBI kitchen 好吃, 白肉quality low, thick slices! 2.夫妻肺片weird, some spicy beef, friend said, it’s not that good! C 3. 破蛋豆腐 home made taste… c 4.蒜蓉排骨 F

I LOVED the Twice Cooked Pork, The Pork Ribs and the Green Beans we ordered. Everything very authentic and not at all«Americanized» with goopy sauces and sugar… Perfectly spicy. Service friendly and attentive. The only thing that could make it better would be to bring down the lights a bit… I felt like I was entering the mother ship when I went in — the white lights were blinding and with the nice clean white interior it made it all the more bright! It did look very clean but I could have done with a dimmer atmosphere :) Will DEFINITELY be back — but might bring my sun glasses next time!

We ordered: — 蒜蓉大豆苗 highly recommended — 蒜香排骨 garlic sauce ribs, too dry — 豆豉烤鱼 just ok. Flavor isn’t strong enough. — 老四川腊肉 too salty. — Rice is one of the best in Bay Area! We’ll come back, but will try something else.

3.5 stars. Tasty authentic Szechuan food, for good prices, but not the absolute best in the area, imo. Fear not of badly-translated Chinese-to-English menu items — they have pictures in the menu for everything here! The Fish Filet with Vegetable Chili Pepper 水煮鱼 was spicy and tasty, packed full of chilis, but I was a little disappointed that it didn’t have wood ear and also more fish in it :(That’s one of my favorite parts! I prefer the 水煮鱼 at JX Cuisine on Lawrence… The Mapo Tofu is hot, hot, hot — delicious, but could be better with just a dash less pepper. The Yangzhou Fried Rice was very good. I like that they don’t skimp on the meat and shrimp in the fried rice. I will def come back to try some of the other items sometime.

We had the baked fish on Thanksgiving Day! They were open until 3pm. The fish was really good, comparing to other baked fish I had in the state. And the portion was big enough for three to share. Would like to come back whenever I crave for spicy food!

Tasty and spicy food all around. We got a bunch of dishes. Some of them, however were way too salty – even for Szechuan food. It kind of burned out my tastebuds halfway through. Still, I’m sure none of the leftovers that are in my fridge right now will survive more than a day :) They won’t take a multiple credit cards for some reason. I mean, we ordered $ 70 worth of food, the least they could do is pay the extra 30¢ worth of credit card fees. I find it particularly insulting when they tell me that«the machine won’t do it.»

This spot has good Szechuan flavor with a nice kick and very good service. The menus are large and full of pictures for those of you with eyes bigger than you stomach. My buddy and I ordered the Ma pao tofu, salt and pepper fried ribs(see pic), and the twice cooked pork(see pic). Gotta say that their ma pao tofu was excellent, great flavor and pretty spicy, this was our favorite of the three dishes. Next up the twice cooked pork served with cabbage to cut the salt, good flavor but not as tender as Spices in SF. This is the first time I’ve had twice cooked pork with cabbage as I’ve only had it served with green onions, nice change. The salt and pepper fried ribs were good, but it would have been better with a sauce to keep the goodies stuck on the ribs, but then i guess they wouldn’t be salt and pepper fried ribs haha. Our waitress, think she may have been the owner, but she was great. I also love it when they box up your leftovers for you, such a nice touch. Looking for spicy in this neighborhood, its here.

I don’t like spicy foods and can barely handle them, so the name, «Szechuan Chilli», definitely gave me a scare. After a string of past experiences, I was convinced that Szechuan chefs do not understand the concept of mild. So I pleasantly surprised when my stomach didn’t turn inside-out by the end of the meal. In fact, the 5 or so dishes we ordered with mild spiciness were actually mild. Rest assured, you can still dial it up to recklessly spicy if that’s your thing. As for me, I was pleased to have survived the meal without any issues. In addition, the dishes were all delicious.
