I love this place– the food is full of flavor! My go-to order consists of the cumin beef, which is pretty spicy(and oh-so yummy!), and the Chengdu dumplings, which have great flavor, but(in my opinion) are not spicy despite the chili symbol on the menu. I have not tried too many other items, although I plan to branch out as I go back because many of the other dishes look equally appetizing. The service is always really good, which I definitely appreciate.

What a quirky restaurant. This place is located inside what I recall is the old Lion market grocery store alongside some other food vendors and a clothing store. Seating is open and commingled with the neighboring food restaurant. We ordered the dry fried beans, Mapo tofu, Dan Dan noodles and spicy dumplings(with corn inside!). Upon being seated we were served some complimentary bowls of hot and sour soup. The food came out quickly and our waitress helped to suggest some menu items to us to fill out our order. Overall our food was not too spicy which was good for us. For some dishes you can specify the level of spicy and the chef is happy to adjust it. The Dan Dan noodles are good and probably my favorite. The noodles are firm and chewy. I also loved the dumplings with corn because… corn! Other items were also good and I’d consider re-ordering them. We ordered four dishes for four people and the total came to $ 30.

This place looks kinda janky because it’s in this super weird Asian strip mall building, but I LOVEIT sooooo much. I come here a lot when I don’t feel like cooking and just want to eat something quick. Most of the time I just order togo. All the food is really authentic because the people who work there are actually from Sichuan or Chengdu. Everything I’ve tried on the menu is fucking tasty :). –Dan dan noodles: I get this every single time. These noodles are amazing… the texture of the noodle itself and the flavor of the sauce. It’s also super cheap. Forgot the price but under $ 10. –Chengdu dumplings: The sauce is soooooo good! It’s sweet and spicy at the same time. These are interesting dumplings because they have corn and meat inside. –String beans: Not sure what they’re actually called on the menu but DAMN this makes me eat lots & lots of veggies. It’s so tasty omg.

This place is awesome! It’s a great place for a quick bite or even a sit down. It’s located in this small Asian shopping center near the back. There’s a little kind of food court before you get there, but this is a hidden gem. I usually order to go, but have sat down to eat several times before. The restaurant, if it can be called that, is an open one, more like a food court stall than anything. But there is plenty of seating there, and the utensils, napkins, and plates are already set up nicely. The lady who is there is such a nice and sweet lady. When I first came here with a friend, I just used the Unilocal reviews to figure out what to order. Dan Dan noodles(yes!!!) and Chengdu dumplings(also yes!!!) are definitely the most popular for a good reason. They tend to be on the spicier side, but well, the name of this restaurant kind of let’s you know what’s up so you’ve been warned. The lady actually helped me and my clueless friend mix the dandan noodles when she saw that we were just trying to pick it apart. Not a place for a fancy date or anything, but definitely a great place to stop by for that time you want something quick to go to watch Netflix at home(yeah, the chimes take-out kinda food) or for casual chilling with close friends.

Food: D23 spicy fish filet, D6 spicy fried chicken, chengdu spicy dumplings and the daily green vegetable(A tsai). Fish filet — too spicy for me fried chicken — too greasy vegetable — too salty but fresh white rice — mushy(too much water). chengdu dumplings — the tastiest item here. Filled with ground pork and corn it was smoky and flavorful and the spice level was just right for me(not that spicy) We’ll be back for the dumplings and weekly lunch special.

I found this place on Unilocal while searching Chinese restaurants near me. OMG, why didn’t I find this place before? The food is amazingly awesome at such reasonable prices, it’s a gem! The Chengdu dumplings are really yummy, I shamelessly scooped up and finished the sauce it came with and didn’t leave any on the plate :-) The fish noodle soup is to die for, literally! I can’t wait to go back and try the lunch specials and some of the pork dishes — the pics look really appetizing… The fried Tofu and vegetables was good too.

So many yummy dishes! My favorite is the dan dan noodles! Also, big fan of their twice cooked pork and green beans. The appetizers were the only disappointing factor, but definitely would come back for the noodles!

O.M.G! The Chengdu Dumplings are amazing… It is inside a tiny mall with a few restaurants and a few stands of people selling goods. We got the lunch special with Mongolian beef and broccoli chicken. The chicken was not very good and the beef wasn’t that great either. The dumplings are worth going there though. I am probably going to be addicted and get these often for Lunch. They are $ 6.95 for 12 and well worth it!

I recently discovered this mom and pop shop located inside an Asian shopping mall plaza. The location is a bit awkward, and the place is not really like a typical restaurant since you have to walk through a mini plaza to get to Sichuan Chili. But once you get there, you will definitely enjoy the food. I highly recommend the following: Chengdu Special Dumplings Dan Dan Noodle Tomato and Fried Egg Noodle Soup This place can get very busy and sometimes service can be a bit slow, but everyone’s very friendly there and the food is worth it!

This place is inside a Asian Mini mall, like a food court style restaurant. about 15 tables with one waitress, but she is super fast and friendly. I ordered the Chengdu Dumplings and Shredded Pork in hot garlic sauce. The sauce for Chengdu Dumpling is freaking awesome, I loved to mix it with the rice. The dumpling itself is good, although I’m not a big fan of the corn inside. The Shredded Pork is just outstanding. FYI, it does have garlic, so be prepared for the«minty» breath afterwards. I can’t wait to come back!

This restaurant is in a food court like setting with other businesses inside the building. So if you’re looking for a store front with their name on it, you won’t find it. Instead, look for a large entrance to a part of the building that looks like a combination of food court and shops. I’m normally fussy about the Chinese food and won’t like anything that has MSG. Even though the menu didn’t say anything about NOT having any MSG, their food tasted real with very good flavors and not loaded with chemical stuff. Most dishes were not as salty as those from most other Chinese restaurants, and the portion and the quality of food was great. While there was only one server servicing the entire area of the food court, she was polite, efficient, considerate, and friendly. The place was pretty packed when my friend and I arrived, but she quickly cleaned up one of the tables, sat us down, and immediately brought some hot tea along with the menu. So we didn’t mind that it took a little while before she actually could take our order. Between the two of us, we had four full size dishes with good serving of brown rice. That came out to a little less than $ 32 before tax. I can’t think of any other Chinese restaurant in the area as authentic and good as this place. Actually, I’m really happy to have found a place where I can go have some good Chinese rice noodle dishes as well.

Alright, here it goes, Sichuan chili gets a 5 stars update! This is officially my favorite and best Sichuan restaurant in the south bay! Traditional authentic taste of Sichuan at the best value for money ever, friendly staff giving great recommendations and introducing today’s special dishes. Set lunches are a real deal, free Suan La soup(hot and sour soup), rice, and a large dish of meat or veggies. They can accommodate the level of spiciness. The fish noodle soup is exceptional. Ma Po sauce is perfectly seasoned. Dumplings are amazing. You can ask for«today’s fresh vegetables» any style. Make sure you check all my photos for this place! Every dish I had there is delightful! I am a huge fan! They now accept credit cards over 20 $.

Thanks, once again, to my fellow Unilocalers. Sometimes I need to be hit over the head with the clue stick, and this time it worked — eating at Sichuan Chili has made me a richer person. I have not had Chinese food this good in a very long time. Before going today I scanned the reviews again, and made a list of the most repeated must-haves: the Dan Dan noodles, the Chengdu dumplings, and the boiled fish in hot sauce. We ordered all 3 items — with brown rice. it was more than enough food for two people, and they were probably having a good laugh watching us shovel it in. OMG — it was hitting every flavor note perfectly — spicy, salty, sweet goodness. The cabbage(or was it Bok choy?) in the boiled fish in hot sauce really wow’d me – totally unexpected. I’m hooked, and will definitely go back to try more from the menu. Sichuan Chili is a small slice of Heaven!

This is my first exposure to a real Szechuan food and I’m hooked! I got their famous Chengdu dumpling($ 6.95) during two of my visits, and yes, they were as impressive as billed: thick-skinned dumplings stuffed with sweet corn and juicy pork. All soaked up in a perfectly balanced blend of chili oil, green onions and sesame seeds — The whole bowl struck the right kind of spicy, salty, sweet and smoky! The boiled fish fillet in hot sauce($ 10.95); I love this fish dish! It was filled to the brim with red chilis in a pool of red oil and looks scorching hot, but in fact it’s tamer than appearance. The rice noodle underneath were a great replacement of rice and it was toothsome. Every single thing we ordered were absolutely delightful. Not to mention, the Service was beyond accommodating. The lady who runs the tables were very kind. She made sure that the spiciness was to our liking. Cheap, delicious and a true hole-in-a-wall gem — I’m a fan!

The Good: + Chengdu style steamed dumplings: sweet corn filling smothered in mala chili and sesame oil; i’d order this as this is one of their specialties + excellent taste, portions, and value on the Sichuan boiled fish; the fresh fish was swimming in mala oil above a bed of bean sprouts and cabbage + excellent flavors and noodle consistency in the Dan Dan noodles + quick and polite service + direct, easy to navigate menu The Not So Good: — wished the dan dan noodles had a more generous serving of ground meat — hole in the wall location inside of a strip mall food court may be a turn off to some, but I personally love hole in the wall places since they seem to focus more on the food than on the extraneous factors The Bottom Line: Sichuan Chili has a very straight forward menu with many of the classic Sichuan staples. The flavors were very authentic, and we were really pleased with our dinner. We made the drive to this location from Mountain View and we thought it was well worth the trip. The focus here really is on the food, and not on the service. The service was polite, and all our dishes had a very home style feel which made me reminisce my mother’s home made cooking.

Hats off to Jun and Sichuan Chili! I cannot say enough praises. We dined here for lunch, and asked our waitress, Jun, for pricing and catering options to surprise my mom for her 60th birthday the following week. We gave her a general idea of what we’d like to order, and were instructed to call her the day before the party to finalize the order. Jun made suggestions of what dishes she thought would«keep well» over the several hours between pick-up and our party time, and even made further logistic recommendations for the day of. We were able to select 6 items from their«3 for $ 22» deal, and they pretty much multiplied price and portions by 4, coming to $ 187 to serve 20+ people. They included rice and even threw in an extra tossed cold noodle dish. We had tons of leftovers for guests to take home, and had enough for several more meals ourselves. When I came to pick up on Saturday afternoon, Jun told me she had gone to Costco early in the morning to pick up several stackable cardboard boxes to hold each party tray so they wouldn’t spill in my car. So thoughtful! She had everything ready to go on a wheeled cart, and helped transport everything to my car. What wonderful service and for Jun going out of her way to make it an excellent experience!

A-ok experience as a whole here, good food, very strange dinning area. I’ll list what we had and its respective rating DanDan noodles: 4 stars! lots of flavor, wish there was more ground pork Chengdu dumplings: 4 stars, good sauce Chongqing Chicken: 3 stars pretty standard Twice cooked pork: 2 stars lacked flavor, much better at other places. The atmosphere is just really run down, like if you put this kitchen in a small hip location then it would thrive. Its located in a old kind of indoor business park, surrounded by small offices for optometry and such. Order take out and enjoy at home perhaps!

I tried their Chengdu Dumplings and Chicken Cold noodle this time and loved it! Chengdu Dumplings — the sauce make them really yummy Chicken Cold Noodle — love the chewy noodles. Love that they have a mix of thin and thick noodles. Love that they use dark meat for the chicken. Love that the cucumber is crispy. The sauce seems to be missing something, so I use the dumpling sauce added some sesame sauce and it is super addictive. Dan Dan Noodle — similar to the Chicken Cold Noodle but with minced meat(not sure if it’s pork or chicken) and a different sauce. I prefer to add the dumpling sauce to this sauce for more flavor. Beef and Honey Tripe — yum as well! The beef is flavorful by itself. The crispy celery compliments it well. We can’t take too hot, so we pour out most of the chili oil. They do an exceptional job packing Togo food. Will be back for their noodles, dumplings and appetizers.

Surprisingly good! Chengdu dumplings — really delicious. Everything about the dumpling including the corn inside and the sauce it was served with all worked together very well. Sweet and a bit spicy. Dan dan noodles — the texture of the noodles was a bit chewy, just slightly softer than al dente. The noodles were not swimming in any red sauce at all, but boy they had some kick to them. Spicy fish soup — came with noodles which we did not expect. It was not bad but not as good as the other two dishes. No wait when we arrived on a Sunday night just before 6:30 pm, but the place quickly filled up afterwards. Only 2 servers were working so there was a bit of a backlog.

This is where the proverbial«If I could give 6 stars, I would» comes into play! Let’s get things straight, this isn’t your fancy schmancy PF Changs kind of restaurant. You’re not gonna find well-dressed waiters wearing a tie. You’re not going to order a fruffy drink from the bartender. What this place is though, is that little Chinese joint that will serve you some of the best food you’ve ever had… EVER! A little about the location. It’s in the old Chef Ma location. Or, so I’m told. Never been, so I couldn’t tell ya. Basically, it looks like an old grocery store that was turned into a Food Court/Mini-mall. You will see a sign on the outside with the name. Go thru the automatic doors and walk to the left, «almost corner.» You can either place your order at the register or have a seat at one of the tables. Now, before you order, it’s a cash-only restaurant, so be wary. I’m not the type of person to carry a lot of cash with me, but I am the type of person who always seems to order too much! Now, on to the food… The first thing you NEED to order is the Chengdu Dumplings. Crap, wait. Actually, the thing you need to know first is that this is Szechuan food. Expect A LOT of red peppers near the item descriptions on the menu. Some items even have 2 peppers! Anyway, back to those dumplings, order them. In fact, get 2 orders. Doesn’t matter if it’s just yourself, just do it! They are that good. The dumplings are delicious on their own, but with that spicy/savory sauce, it is magic! Don’t forget to stir them with the sauce before eating. Next, you should also get the Dan Dan noodles. A little spicier than the dumplings, but almost just as good. While the sauce and spicy pork is delicious, I love the chewiness of the noodle. These 2 items will help you get started and is a good preview of the delicious meal you are about to have. I won’t get into the rest of the items, but everything I’ve tried here so far has exceeded my expectations. And those are high to begin with! The lady who always helps me is super-friendly and speaks English just fine! They have a TV that plays Chinese shows, but unless they’re showing people making or eating food, I don’t care!

Tucked away in the corner of a Chinese strip mall, I been frequenting this place for several months now and finally got round to reviewing it. Unpretentious setup, well sized food, good value — what else can you ask for? Their noodle dishes are one of the best in the area, especially their Dan Dan noodles if you can take the heat. Their dishes are extremely well seasoned and keep true to Sichuan cuisine, perhaps they havent had garner much of a following due to its location. The owner runs the restaurant by herself so service could be slightly slow if it gets busy, nevertheless she has always been extremely attentive and has always been kind enough to explain all the dishes. This gem of a spot is still not on most ppl’s map so try it while you can:)
