Quality meats, variety of broths, long waits, and NOAYCE. *sad violin* Pros: Quality meats, large slices Various broth options Friendly service, you go Bryant! Will call you when ready! Cons: NO All You Can Eat! MADNESS! Long wait, small establishment Recommendations: Black Angus beef Sukiyaki broth Spicy kimchi broth Skip: Miyazaki(go to a steakhouse for this) Sukiyaki broth was the favorite amongst our party of 3, a bit sweet and definitely the most flavorful. House Traditional lacked flavor, much sad. Spicy kimchi was mildly spicy, great for those who want a little kick but not cry their way through the entire meal. Black Angus tasted the best, compared to the Miyazaki and Kobe. Each entrée comes with rice and a plate of vegetables. What a great first impression of Cupertino! I like! Reminds me of Asia. So many Asians everywhere! Plus, this plaza has ALL the goods. Japanese market for my Asian snacks, crêpe place next door, poki bowls, etc. Plus plus, they’ve got nice weather down here.

NOAYCEOPTIONHERE. BEWARE: Try to cook as much as you can before your soup bases boils away. When you need to refill your soup bases, all they do add water to each side of the pot. Which really waters down the taste of the broth :( – BROTH/MEATS/VEGGIES – Both times that I have visited, I got the sukiyaki and spicy kimchi broth. The broths were decent, I especially liked the sukiyaki! Likely my two staple soup bases when visiting this spot. I have tried the Kobe beef and the Black Angus Prime beef. I appreciate that their meat quality is better than the average hot pot places. You can taste the quality of the black angus prime, but I would stick with Kobe beef next time due to the pricing difference. Both are very yummy and would be great meat choices. I like the thickness of each slice! I’ve been to spots where you pick up the raw slices with your chopsticks and it gets torn apart. Yay, brownie points for One Pot for slices and meat quality ^__^ Yes, you order comes with a medium size of veggies, so don’t forget to take this into account when ordering the sizing for meats! – SIZING: REGULAR, LARGEORSUMO – During my first visit, our server couldn’t really estimate how many slices is given per size. She guessed the regular was only 5 – 6 slices, which caused us to over-order for our appetite that night(thinking each plate had less meat). I got the large, which was roughly 10 – 11 slices. My friend got a large and she got 12 – 14 slices in hers. So that means the regular size is likely ~7−8 slices. Their version of gomae isn’t a favorite of mine because it’s super gritty T__T! Super sad, because I love gomae sauce!!! But the ponzu sauce is on point, especially when you add a bit of the green onions and garlic ;) – SERVICE – The service is okay, the two times I’ve been here, the servers want to quickly get in and out after ordering. After they or the food runners give you the food, you don’t really see your servers until it’s time to get your check. I would return, but I’m still on the hunt for the perfect shabu spot!

Craving for shabu? This place will get the job done! They’ve got 3 different sizes: medium, large, and sumo. I went with sumo because the waitress told me large only came with 9 pieces of meat, but it turned out to be like 12 – 14! So honestly, if you’re not a huge eater, medium or large will be enough. We went with the sukiyaki and spicy kimchi broth which were both just average to me. The meat is definitely slightly better quality than your average hotpot/shabu place. It also comes with the complimentary plate of veggies and a bowl of rice! I was so full near the end that I couldn’t finish the veggies ’cause I had to stuff down the rest of my meat. I personally really dislike being overly full which is why I say choose your order carefully based on how hungry you are! Service was OK, nothing too memorable. And as with many shabu/hotpot spots, getting more«broth» just means diluting it with water.

Got here on a Sunday morning 15 minutes after they opened and had no wait. My boyfriend and I got an order of the Black Angus and an order of the Kobe Beef. The Kobe Beef had more fat and was thus had more flavor. The vegetables were fresh and both the House Special and Spicy Kimchi broths gave great flavor to our meals.

Had lunch here with a friend on a Saturday, and surprisingly, got seated right away. Ordered the Black Angus and Kobe Beef with the House Special and Sukiyaki broths. I’m not a huge meat person, but I kept adding beef to the pot. I’ve been disappointed by broths at many hot pot spots, but these were full of flavor. You choose a package(i.e: beef, mushrooms, seafood), which comes with veggies, rice, a soy sauce, and a nut sauce. I actually prefer this to the all-you-can-eat style because I left feeling satisfied, yet not stuffed. Not cheap, but prices are standard for hot pot.

One Pot was extremely, incredibly, amazingly… average. The only thing that stood out was the broth(I got the soy milk and miso base) which was actually quite good. Everything else is pretty forgettable, not in a bad way, it was just exactly what you would expect from a hot pot place. The beef was advertised as «Kobe beef», but in all honesty, I couldn’t really tell the difference between normal beef and Kobe. It was tasty, but sitting here 10 hours later writing this review, I’ve already forgotten what it tasted like. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some hot pot, and this place was pretty good, but for $ 18.99 for a regular portion, which was just a little bit less than filling, I think it’s a bit pricey for what you get. Maybe I’m expecting too much after having been to some all you can eat hot pot places that were comparably priced. At the end of the day, hot pot is hot pot, and it’s delicious so you can’t go wrong(especially with the soy milk miso soup base), but I’ve had better.

Personally, I’m not a fan of shabu shabu. Maybe it’s because I’ve been spoiled by great Vietnamese hot pot and I’ll never stray from that. My cousins and I were famished after our adventure at the Pace Gallery in Palo Alto. They decided on hot pot and we drove to cupertino! We ordered the tomato spicy and the soy milk broth. I wasn’t a fan of any of it. The beef was sliced too thinly and the fish cakes tasted more like flour. The lamb was alright to be honest. It wasn’t as fresh to me. The veggies were minimal, it was more of a garnish because it was so little. I liked the miso sauce more than the soy sauce based sauce! It was so good, that I can pour that suace on the rice and be satisfied with my meal. But the point was to eat hot pot not the sauce. I probably will not come back here only because nothing stood out for me to really enjoy my meal. Parking is crazy sometimes so be careful!

4 stars for the food. Service was okay. Was ignored or waited longer than most other tables(for some reason) to get service after seating. so it was more on us waving waiters down for napkins, refill on waters, but they were quick to take some empty plates always. When we did get a few minutes of our waiter’s time when he took our order, he was knowledgeable it seemed like, of the food they had. Though there were a good amount of waiters in the small store, idk why he took so long to get back to us or not even bother to check on us at all. Again, we had to wave them down to ask for things, even our bill. The soup we ordered was the kimchi and we told them to make it extra spicy but don’t bother cause they’ll just throw in a bunch of dried pepper flakes(not what we expected). That didn’t add onto taste or even spiciness so I ended up scooping them out. They do have chili oil and powdered red pepper on the side as well as green onions for extra add ons to the soup on the sides of the tables. Def one of my fav broths for the many hot pot places I’ve tried. And I’m not usually fond of these hot pot like places in restaurants because I don’t usually find the broth very good to me, at least compared to how my family makes it at home. The other we tried was house special. It’s a good kind of broth that’s chill for eating if you want to eat lighter. The orders come with a nice size of mixed veggies like carrots,(canned) baby corn, spinach, clear noodles, enoki mushrooms, etc. We also ordered other things on the side such as ramen, tofu, extra enoki(cause I love it), special sausages?, their GRADE A BEEF, and KOBE. Their Grade A Beef which I forgot what it’s called, is one of the best cut meet I’ve ever tried! It is a must have for their hot pot, esp with the Kimchi broth for me. It’s not tough, not rough, perfect texture. They do have 2 dipping sauces. One is this thick, buttery, peanut sauce and the other is almost like a soy sauce dip. If you dip the food in the peanut sauce then the other soy sauce-like one then eat it, it tastes even better than eating it any other way.

Came here with 2 other people for lunch. A few takeaways: — We had to order 2 entrees before we were allowed to order side dishes. Kind of a bummer because it would have been nicer to customize our own meal. We got the American Kobe beef and the Kurobuta pork — We also ordered more veggies on the side(enoki mushrooms and napa cabbage) and some ramen. The ramen serving was really tiny for the price. — For the broth, we got the house special and garlic miso(which was apparently new and not even on the menu yet) Overall, the food was pretty good. The amount of meat was definitely a little lacking for the price and left us craving for some more while the serving sizes for the vegetables were generous. The quality was good though and the house special sauce was definitely better than the garlic miso which was a little disappointing. All in all, the meal was alright. I wouldn’t mind coming back again if friends really wanted to go but I wouldn’t seek it out either. For $ 20 per person at the end, there’s better shabu shabu to be had elsewhere.

I was craving some hot pot and found this place, so we decided to try it out! There was no wait for dinner when we went on a Thursday night :) We ordered the Kobe beef with an upgraded order of vegetables. It comes with the glass noodles and they don’t allow substitution for udon noodles, so we ordered a side of that as well! We were disappointed to see that they didn’t have beef balls so we decided to try the chicken meatballs. Bad decision! I don’t recommend those at all, they have a strong test of lemon and herbs, we were not expecting that at all. As for the soup base, we wanted to try the traditional seaweed, which was very plain, other places sometimes put chicken broth with the seaweed, but this tasted like water. Next time I would probably try the kimchi or sukiyaki broth. The beef was very fresh and thinly sliced! That, and the fresh vegetables were probably my favorite. As for the sauce, they give everyone a side of sesame and ponzu sauce. They also had garlic and green onions on the table where you can help yourself. Those are my essentials to hot pot! Service was decent.

5÷8÷16WORSTSERVICEEVER I come to One Pot regularly but I have never received service as bad as today. Our server literally took our order and disappeared for the rest of our meal. I work at a shabu restaurant myself so I know the order should be sauces, broth, vegetables, rice, then meat. Our vegetables came out before our broth and sauces which makes no sense whatsoever because 2 tables who came after us got their broth before us. We ordered a sumo Kobe and it seems like the meat cutters literally slapped the meat on the plate and didn’t care for the presentation. The quality today was not up to par as usual either. The texture was extremely grainy and was not enjoyable to chew. NOTONCE were we checked up on or asked how we were doing. The servers would check up on EVERY table next to us besides us. Is it really that hard to go down the row asking each table? We ordered a ramen when she took our order but it never came out. Our server was never in her section so I had to ask the host for it. My Sprite was empty for half of the meal so and a server never bothered to ask if I wanted a refill. Ladles were not set up on the table so we had to ask for them from the host… The host forgot so I had to go to the back and ask for one. I asked my server for my sesame sauce and she forgot so I had to ask another host for it… Get where I’m going with this? WEHADTOASKFOREVERYSINGLETHING. I got so fed up that I started refilling my own broth because the servers would fill every table’s beside ours. Thanks to Becky for being the only person who actually got us our ramen and sesame sauce. The 2 other servers did not know how to provide any service.

I truly love One Pot, even with all the other hot pot restaurants opening up lately. I prefer dipping my meats into the soup shabu shabu style over hot pots that have everything in the pot already and One Pot totally gives me that experience! I absolutely love their spicy kimchi and house special broths and it even tastes amazing when you mix them together. Their meats are pretty quality and their vegetables are very fresh. However, I knocked them a star down to 4 stars because of their horrible service. I think the best part about hot pot is that it brings people together. Thus, for a restaurant that doesn’t explicitly state a minimum or anything, sharing should be allowed, no? I came in one afternoon with my dad and sister and we were one of the few tables dining in at that time because of the unusual time. When the waitress came to take our order, we told her that my sister won’t be eating and that my dad and I would be sharing a medium. She started to show us attitude and said that each person, including my baby sister, must each place an order. We told her that we didn’t see that explicitly stated on the menu and that my baby sister wouldn’t even be able to finish a small herself. She rudely just left and by that time my dad wanted to walk out, but I told him I was craving One Pot, so we decided to stay. However, from our table, we saw that she was yelling at one of the other waiters about our situation. YELLING! And she was pointing over to make sure she was heard. She was saying things like how we have three people and we’re only ordering one medium hot pot and about how we they shouldn’t have allowed us to be seated if my sister isn’t going to eat. After that, we walked out because that’s just unbelievable. I read a couple reviews and I think some people might’ve encountered too. It’s been a while since this incident, but I hope she doesn’t work here anymore. I did return maybe once or twice after this incident, but luckily I didn’t run into her. Though the service wasn’t as bad as that one time with that girl, they could hire nicer people. They’re extremely lucky that their food is delicious because that’s really the only reason why I keep coming back…

Came here on a Saturday night around 8pm and the wait was about 30 mins for 2 ppl. One of the hosts– Bryant, was super friendly from the moment I called(to ask about the wait) to the moment he sat us. It was my friends first time there and he was debating on which broth to order. Bryant overheard us and described each broth to us and even brought us samples which was tremendously helpful. BROTH: Spicy kimchi broth is the BEST. My friends also like Sukiyaki but it’s too sweet for me and I like a little kick in my soup. At first the spicy kimchi hits me a little too hard(like when you have spice stuck in your throat and you’re coughing and your eyes are watering and it hurts like hell) BUT I SWEAR after you start cooking your meat/veggies in it, the broth tastes freaking delicious. I also like to mix in some of my sesame sauce with the broth in my bowl and together, it tastes like heaven. Slurp slurp. MEAT: We both ordered a sumo size Kobe beef(super freaking starving) for $ 23.99 each. It comes with rice, noodles, and veggies. Since I don’t eat rice or noodles, the regular size plate of meat + veggies doesn’t fill me up but the sumo was a challenge to finish. Next time I’ll probably just get the large size. CONS: The vegetables and broth are super filling. But I’m gonna have to subtract one star for the broth refill. I think they just add more water which made my broth super diluted and it didn’t taste the same afterwards. For the rest of my meal, I felt pretty sad that I couldn’t enjoy my broth anymore with each bite. Also your server will take your order in the beginning, drop off your food, and you probably won’t see them again until the end of your meal. You gotta flag someone down if you need something. This diy kind of meal doesn’t really require much maintenance though so I don’t really care tbh. Overall. Great food, great quality, good price. Definitely hit the spot and was probably the best meal I had all week hehe

After coming to this plaza so many times before, I finally tried OnePot. It was pouring outside and nothing sounded better than something soupy to eat for dinner! We arrived here about 7PM on a Monday night and there was no wait! We ordered a large Kurobuta pork and a large Kobe beef. Each meat entrée came with a side of either white or brown rice with a veggie plate(two types of mushroom, noodles, bok choy, cabbage, carrot, squash, and spinach. The two sauces served were a miso mayo tasting sauce and a soy lime sauce. My favorite one was the miso sauce(don’t forget to put lots of chili oil into it)! I think for two people, you should definitely get the large portions of meat. I felt full after my meal(but not disgustingly so). The dinner was about $ 40. The service here was good. Our waters were always filled and we were asked if we needed anything. I’ll definitely be back!

This was the first time I’ve had Japanese styled shabu shabu. I usually got for the Chinese or Taiwanese type of hot pot so this was something different. My friends and I came here for dinner on a Wednesday night at around 6:00pm. To my surprise, there was a long wait. We probably didn’t get seated until maybe 6:45 or 7. I do get it though, since the restaurant is small and the wait really depends on other people who are already eating. My friends(the four of us) got the House Special broth and the Spicy Kimchi broth. We got the Kobe beef and the pork belly, in sumo and regular size, respectively. One broth comes with one rice and one veggie combo plate. Both broths were tasty. I coldly seriously drink the spicy kimchi one just on its own. The meats were good. I definitely recommend getting the pork belly! Mmm! The selection for the veggies on the combo plate they gave us wasn’t very wide. It was pretty standard and minimal. I kind of wished they had individual veggie combo plate and rice for each person. I don’t mind sharing the meat because I don’t typically eat that much meat, but I love my veggies! Portion is kind of small for four people sharing only two plates of meat and veggies. It’s prefect for two people though, I would say. Overall, this place is good and I do recommend trying it if you haven’t already. I guess I am just used to individualized everything — pot, meats, veggies — and I’m not too used to this. Still, it was worth a try and good experience.

Honestly, I’m not sure how I haven’t written this review way WAY long ago because I freaking love this place. One Pot has been one of my favorite places to go to since I discovered it sometime last year. In fact, I just most recently drove about an hour to Cupertino from Oakland area just to get my belly filled with delicious One Pot. Literally, just for this. *yum emoji* Here is my go-to order(feeds me + boyfriend): Sumo size kobe beef with tomato broth, upgrade vegetables(only like $ 3 and you get a large stacked bowl with more variety than the typical box. I’m talkin three different types of mushrooms. thats alot to meeee) and an udon on the side. You can pick from either white rice of mixed grain(the purple kind). Total came out to like $ 15 each(then plus tip of course) The kobe beef is to die for. Literally it is so tender, melt-in-your-mouth, perfect umami flavor. The last time I went, I hadn’t went in a while and, after taking my first bite of the kobe, I remembered why I was so freaking obsessed to begin with. The tomato broth really complements the beef flavor — but you can ask to sample the broths to see what you prefer. Dipping sauces are good. You get the sesame one and this more savory one(forget what its called sorry). They provide minced garlic, chili oil, chili flakes, and chopped green onions for you to add as you please. Service is always great to okay here. I’ve never had a bad waiter. Also, bathrooms here are very cutely decorated and clean! That’s a nice touch. For women, they provide some complimentary emergency care which I think is such a nice touch to have! HIGHLYRECOMMEND. LOVETHISPLACE. Will come back forever

5 stars for the food, minus 1 star for the wait. Why do they call it One Pot… because it feels like they only have one pot to serve all their customers! I think we waited 90 minutes for a table for 3. The staff are nice and I understand that they can’t help it that they’re busy. However, I was hoping they would give accurate waiting times(Our quote was for 30 minutes for a table of 3.) What makes this wait tortuous is that the aroma of the broth and meat teases you the entire time that you’re waiting. Take my advice, go get a drink at Super Cue next door while you’re waiting. They brew their tea from fresh tea leaves. The wait for 2 seems to be reasonable because of how the restaurant is set up. I think they should remodel to make their space more efficient. Enough complaining about the wait. :) The food itself made up for the wait! We got the traditional and kimchi broth with a ginormous and small order of Kobe. It took a while(or an eternity) for the food to come but when the food came, it was a magnificent sight.(see pics) This was a good amount for 3 girls, if you’re a guy… I would recommend ordering more meat. Note that I said good amount, I didn’t say I was fully satisfied with my meat craving. I think the small was 5 oz, 7 oz and then 11 oz for the ginormous order. I have a ginormous appetite so I think I can eat the 11 oz by myself if I wasn’t holding back and drinking the broth like a fish. Don’t forget to ask for the spicy drops from the staff to add to your soup if you like that extra kick. BEWARE: do not add more than 1 drop. I added 3 and almost died. Don’t add too much daikon to your sauce, it leaves you with intense garlicky daikon breath.

seeing that I’ve already been to the Taiwanese style hotpot on Saturday night, I decided to go with Japanese style tonight. I totally love One Pot so much more than Shabuway. the food is just better here. they have tables from groups of 2 to 4, but can also accommodate up to 6 ppl. for ppl who r just there by themselves, they can sit at the bar where they can have an individual pot n watch some tv.(it’s usually sports.) they used to have fish cakes that came with the veggies. it’s such a bummer that they ended that. apparently u can buy some for $ 6.99 now. there’s also been a price raise since the last time I’ve been here. oh well… damn u inflation! Kurobuta Sausage: this was pretty good. we only ordered 3 pieces, but it was enough. Veggies n Sauces: i love their soy n sesame sauces. if u run out, they will always refill it for u. the veggies r good too, but I wanted more tofu. there’s only 2 pieces. House Special broth: the organic soy milk n miso one is the one I always order cuz I think it tastes the best. I’ve tried the tomato broth. it tastes bland to me. Spicy Kimchi broth: u can customize the spiciness which was great. if u want it spicier, u can always add a few drops of their special hot oil. it really makes EVERYTHING ridiculously spicy. Surf n Turf(shrimp/American Kobe beef): u can pick which meat n seafood u like so I picked the shrimp n American Kobe beef. there’s only 4 pieces of shrimp so probably wouldn’t pick that again. the American Kobe beef was delicious.(isn’t that like an oxymoron??) Premium Black Angus: the marbling of this meat is just beautiful. the amount of fat with the lean meat was so good! I took some pieces from his plate. :)

I haven’t been to a shabu shabu location in years. Years I tell you! Also, my fiancée has never been to one period, so I think it was a bit overdue on both parties to get some shabu. The place was crowded, but they had an open table or «high table» so we were seated instantly. Service was quick and efficient and the gentleman was nice enough to answer any questions we might have, and there were a few. You pick your meat and your broth, and you start cooking. The food cooks quickly enough, so you won’t be staring at it for too long. Everything tasted delicious and went down quickly while also keeping the belly warm. Perfect. I really had no qualms about the place, It’s not quite a five star establishment, but pretty darn close.
