First time visited this place. Just like other positive review, the lunch special is quite tasty and the price(under$ 10) is quite nice. Will definitely visit again.

Had an early Xmas Eve dinner here, and it was a good experience with kind service. Our family totaled 14 people, and there was nobody in the restaurant when we arrived at 5pm. I ordered the special of the evening, which was quite the deal. $ 17 for seafood nabe(like a soup with mussel, fish, veggies inside), tempura, salmon teriyaki, CA roll, and rice. The trays they brought out were huge, and I was so full afterwards. Quality-wise, I liked the tempura the best, as there was an assortment including potato, broccoli, and shrimp among others. Salmon teri was decent, and seafood nabe was tasty with the provided ponzu sauce. We also bought some house sake and beer, which were alright. The sake they use I think is pretty cheap(Takara Sho Chiku Bai), and the beer is not draft, but bottled. After perusing the menu, it is pretty pricy to get other dishes, but they do give a ton of food, which is nice.

They have raised the price of their lunch special steadily(the only thing I have tried here), but it’s still worth it for the variety of food you get. Usually the lunch set comes with an entrée that is either fish or meat, a side of ramen or udon, a side of karaage or tempura, salad, 3 pieces of sushi, and rice. They vary the menu depending on the day, and it fills up quickly at lunch time(especially on the weekends). Like most Japanese meals, the set is pretty well balanced, and definitely a great value. The salad is always the same, and the sauce is a bit much if you pour it over the salad, so I typically just dip my lettuce in the sauce so the flavor is lighter. Udon is always good(better than their ramen), with the noodles at just the right consistency, though sometimes the soup is already a bit too lukewarm(likely because they prepare the set lunches ahead of time). Entrees are always good, though the teriyaki style dishes are not too special. Saba is also good, but I don’t like my fish with as many bones, so I stick to meat if that’s the only option.(There’s usually always 2 options for entrée — fish or meat — unless they run out). Sushi is mediocre — the rice isn’t always sushi rice and they use a lot of imitation crab, but sometimes you get a special roll with raw fish in it instead of the usual California roll. Tempura is pretty well made as well, but I prefer their karaage(chicken or salmon, usually). Random tidbit: the paper boxes they give you for take-out or leftovers dries out the rice like crazy, so transfer it to a different container when you get home or the rice ends up super dry and grainy the next day.

I love this place for their lunch and dinner specials! The lunch and dinner special is $ 9.99 and $ 14.99 respectively and changes depending on the day. They are very generous with the amount of food and the presentation is really great. The presentation of the specials always remind me of a fancy Japanese meal. Like how the pictures all show, you get a good variety of different dishes. The food isn’t the most amazing Japanese food that I’ve had but it’s definitely decent especially for the amount of food and variety that you get. If you’re looking for a lunch or dinner place, I would recommend trying this place out.

Best time to come is during lunch! They serve lunch specials that have crazy quantities and are definitely worth the price. Food wise, I’d only rate it 3⁄5. My salmon teriyaki tasted a little dry and my California roll tasted really fake. The sashimi was pretty good and so was the other sides(miso soup & salad). The specials also come nicely arranged and the interior looks fancy. I saw a lot of business men and families here. I guess this is a good place to impress someone!

The price looks high but it’s not when you taste the special. The bento boxes are overloaded. The sushi is quite large as well.

Went here for a work meeting and got the lunch special. Worth it. We got there at 1120am to make sure we were first in line. Yes, there was a line –before– open, even on a Tuesday. It’s not my first choice for Japanese in the South Bay, but I’d go again if in the area.

Come here for the lunch special. It will be the best Japanese food you’ve tasted for $ 9.99. When you step into Yoshida, it’s like taking a teleporter to Kyoto. The decorations, tables, even miniature Japanese garden all scream authentic Japan, and is really a great environment to enjoy a meal. The lunch special is fantastic for the price, comprising of a main meat entry, soup, rice, salad, sushi, and a side(tempura, crispy tofu, etc.). Each week, the contents of the special change, so you will always try something new! Service is also great here, friendly and prompt. Only downside? Anything besides the lunch special is on the expensive side. Sushi isn’t the best I had, but pretty good. Oh, and they are closed on Mondays.

Oooo not so good, typical Americanized Japanese restaurant, lots of mayo in ur CA roll, all that jazz. I came here for lunch with my co-worker whom pick the place for their lunch special. Their lunch special was big, a salmon or chicken teryaki served with udon, miso, salad, some potatoes and rice for under 10 bucks, thats cheap. I had the katsu and curry this was standard, not bad, came with miso soup for $ 9.00, cheap. The service was soooo slow here though, and from the first meal to the last that came to our table there was a 20 minute delay. Lunch here took our party of 6 about an hour and 15 mins to get it done and that’s not waiting for the bill but going to the counter because the bill was taking too long to arrive.

I remember when Yoshida used to be known as one of the nicer Japanese restaurants in the area, but I think sometime over the years they changed ownership or something because the quality has certainly gone down. I usually come here for the lunch and dinner specials; $ 9.99 and $ 14.99 respectively, which includes some form of meat, sushi, tempura, rice, and a soupy noodle dish(udon at lunch, hot pot glass noodles at dinner). You get a lot of variety, but it seems like everything is pre-made so that they can serve it very quickly. The dishes are usually lukewarm at best, and just tastes like it’s been sitting there for a while. Service also isn’t great; they’ll come by to refill your glass of water maybe once throughout the meal and that’s about it. I know I shouldn’t be complaining for a deal like this, but I would honestly pay a little more for a more enjoyable experience.

I’m going to be honest, I’ve had better sushi at other restaurants but for the daily special that was 9.99, it is hard to beat the quantity of food that you get. Even though I wasn’t impressed with their sushi rolls that came with the daily special, they really give you a lot of food. I went in during lunch time on a weekday. We were seated right away and I started perusing the menu. It seemed pretty standard Japanese fare but I thought the regular dishes seemed pretty expensive. They had a daily lunch special though that was really cheap so I decided to have that. I chose salmon teriyaki and received udon and soup, eggplant side dish, salad, rice, and three pieces of sushi. I loved the udon and soup and did not expect to like the eggplant side dish. It was actually really good. However, did not care for the salad dressing. When I looked around at the packed dining room, I noticed that everyone also ordered the daily special. All in all, I think it’s worth going back but because it’s such a great value for what you get.

Yoshida definitely draws an impressive lunch crowd with everybody seemingly ordering their lunch special. For under $ 10, you get a quick, filling and delicious lunch — clearly one of the best deals in town! Choices can be rather limited, though; the last time I went, the lunch specials were a choice of either Salmon Kama or Fried Chicken Katsu. I opted for the Katsu lunch special: it includes rice, California and Tuna rolls, Agedashi Tofu, Udon and a Lettuce salad. The Katsu was juicy, tender, and fried crispy — just the way I like it. Udon was okay; tasted very porky(not my preference) but everything else tasted surprisingly yummy! The lunch special portion was huge; definitely bigger than your typical Japanese lunch bento at other establishments. Service was average; it took a while for them to refill our tea and the bill took a while to come out even when we were ready for it. The lady owner, however, was very friendly and most importantly the food comes out lightning fast. I will definitely be back and maybe try their dinner menu next time :)

It’s hard to say no to their dinner specials and for $ 14.95/person, it has us coming back again and again. The special changes every month but usually comes with: — assorted tempura — 3 piece California/sushi rolls — cup of rice — a protein dish(meat or cooked fish) — chawan mushi(steamed egg custard) — noodle soup The food quality is okay but won’t knock your socks off. Still, this place offers the best bang for your buck. It’s no wonder the Asians flock here … we all love a good deal! Clean & bright environment with a friendly staff … It’s definitely A-OK in my books.

The lunch special is a really cool deal for $ 9.95. :) There are usually two main course options you can choose from. This past Saturday, I got to choose from a fish dish or the pork teriyaki. I went with the pork teriyaki and it was delicious! Some people say that the meal is «huge» but if you really just look at the food itself and imagine it in a real«bento box» it’s very similar portion wise. The different sizes in bowls/plates used to spread out the variety of the lunch special is what makes it look so big. Mine came with 2 pieces of California roll, 1 piece of tuna roll, 4 small pieces of chicken karage, salad, udon, pork teriyaki & rice. I really enjoyed the variety of items in the lunch special.

Food: 3.5 Stars Service: 4 Stars To update, I came here for lunch with my parents. Great consistency of experience and very similar to last time. We all got the lunch special which included salmon terriyaki, california rolls, some chicken katsu, an udon, salad, rice. I really love the bentos as they give you so much variety and makes you feel like you’ve had such a diverse selection of delicacies. The fish was a little bit too sweet and salty as I think they drenched it in a lot of sauce. Other than that, I enjoyed the flavors in all of the other dishes. A special note that for some Asian restaurants, there will be fish bones left in so be careful!

Gigantic lunch sets for 10 $! Best quantity for money ever. Go there only if you are hungry! Now the food itself… is a very ordinary Japanese cooking. It’s good for lunch as the quantity is there. Not sure I could expect having fine, delicate Japanese food there. Don’t get me wrong though, it’s more than acceptable. I do have my lunches there at least twice a month.

I love Cupertino having grown up there and these Asian and Indian places were nowhere to be found when I was young… But NOW! Yum! This place is awesome! The bento box is just enough and although some say a little pricey I do not see it any different than any other place price wise in the area and they have some unusual and somewhat gourmet appetizers if you love fish you will enjoy! The atmosphere is nice and it’s not a big place so kind of cozy. They have specials both for lunch and dinner and rotate a bunch of dishes which is conducive I’d say for regulars. I will go back and in fact i have and so would you if you like Japanese food and are working o living in this area! :)

(+) The lunch specials are pretty awesome the first few times you go (-) The wow factor decreases as you realize it’s pretty ordinary Japanese food in an elaborate presentation coming out in huge trays that take up every inch of table space (-) The prices keep increasing (-) You MUST arrive during opening time, or else it gets ridiculously crowded(think Kome-level chaos)

I was put off by the giant $ 8.95 lunch special sign. I thought it would be another lunch special with rice and bunch of teriyaki sauce on whatever meat. Don’t let the sign fool you. You have to try it. The environment is like an office converted into a restaurant. These workers work their asses off. They literally run so fast, it keeps blowing wind next to where you eat. The lunch special was presented well. The crowd speaks for itself. All seats taken with people waiting to be seated. It’s a great deal.

Yoshida is no thrill, feed my belly, cheap, filling Japanese food. Ordered the Chicken Katsu lunch special. I was amazed how fast the food came out, as if they already knew. The amount food you get for $ 8.95 is ridiculous. It was so much food. I was super excited to chow down. First of all, the food was really well presented. As I begin to eat and eat and eat, I realize, the food was made from cheap ingredients. Overall the quality was lacking, I really wanted to like it, I really did, but each bite I took it just went down hill. I took a quick look around, alot of people order the special. It’s a great deal. Usually restaurant don’t offer lunch special on the weekend but Yoshida does. Yoshida wasn’t bad, I was able to feed my whole family pretty cheap. I’m in no hurry to come back anytime soon. But I will definitely bring vistors to try this place cause I know they enjoy a good deal. Restaurant is modern, plenty of table and parking. Service is quick. You definitely have to experience Yoshida at least once. You never know, it might be your go to spot.
