Just stopped in for a slice or 2. Nothing fancy(with my oder) which was a regular and Sicilian slice, medium coke. The guys behind the counter are friendly and seem to know their customers. The pizza heated quickly, was a nice and crispy crust and delicious. Cost just over $ 8. There was a nice flow of customers so they must have a great reputation! Nice stop just west of Pindar, in the King Killen shopping center.

Ordered 2 pasta dishes with olive oil and garlic. Bland, tasteless dishes. Cook never bothered to mince the garlic or add seasoning. Garlic was presented in full or half cloves, therefore only viewable at the bottom of the plate. The crab cake appetizers were equally disappointing. Only ate half of our entrees and couldn’t eat another bite. It was brought to managers attention who offered us free desert, we walked instead. Won’t be back, sorry. Its too bad too, for they have a beautiful elegant atmosphere and charge top dollar for their pasta but deliver mediocre food. They need an Executive Chef instead of a cook.

We have been coming to Michelangelos for many years. It is a small, family restaurant. Think Cheers. The regulars here come for a quiet dinner. It is not unusual for people to be waving at other tables, or getting up to chat with their neighbors. The waitresses are stellar; go there a few times and they can bring your usual drinks out to you before you settle down. Come in the fall /winter and get treated to some truly delightful soups — pumpkin sage, tomato basil, vegetable bisque. If the hot green bean salad is on the specials, try it. Long French green beans with cherry tomatoes, purple onion and feta cheese in a buttery coating — enough to share. Most of the menu is standard Italian fare; but nicely executed. The shrimps are large and the fish is very fresh. The chef knows his way around a pork chop, as well. The pizza is very nice; I am a purist — slice of cheese. They have more exotic offerings if you are willing; buffalo chicken, salad pizza, white pizza, etc. If you intend to show up on a holiday, a festival day, a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, make reservations. The lines can get long and the wait times push the half hour mark. There are three waitresses, all excellent; but if they are slammed, it will take a while to get seated and get your food — be patient. Even rushed, they will try to give superior customer service. Now for the down side. This is a family restaurant and family means small children. Sometimes they are a little loud, a little rambunctious, or a little cranky. Sometimes they are the spawn of Satan. The staff will speak to you if your darling is tripping up the wait staff or endangering themselves or others. Other than that, kids will be kids and they will let your child be; it is up to you to decide when enough is enough. It is also a very popular spot to hit after a day at the vineyards. That means that you run the risk of very loud drunks coming in and being very loud and very drunk while they try to get some food in their systems for the long drive back to the city. The staff will shush you, if you are too loud. The regulars will pipe up about your behavior too. If you are obviously under the influence, they will refuse to serve you alcohol… even if you have a driver. They are not going to contribute to your quest for alcohol poisoning. Being in a shopping center, Michelangelos has plenty of parking; but if it is raining hard, the area in front of the restaurant turns into a small lake — park on the side of the lot or closer to the King Kullen unless you want to wade back to your car. If you want to try them, I suggest going on Pasta Nights(Monday-Thursday). You get a soup/salad, your choice of pasta, your choice of sauce, coffee/tea, and a cannoli or slice of cheesecake for one price. Our family goes 2 – 4 times a month and has yet to be disappointed in the staff, service, or the food.

Order a pizza and 2 slices and it took them well over 49 minutes when they told me 20 minutes. The ladies behind the counter seemed nice but male with glasses was not nice or helpful. The service stinks now

I love this salad pizza. As soon as I get back«home»(I now live out of state) it’s one of the first things I can’t wait to have. When friends visit the area, it’s what I tell them they need to try. The garlic knots are perfect with it — if you want a real treat! I actually enjoy most of their food, but … The salad pizza is my favorite.

Pizza is always pretty good but only when they don’t screw up the order. We go here probably once a week and there is normally always a problem at least once a month with an order screw up. If you stick with the pizza you’ll be okay. The entrees are a bit pricey and are always missing flavor. Chicken Marsala is one of my favorite dishes but they make it terrible here every time. And the pasta is always over cooked. All in all double check your order the staff is very young and inexperienced

I come here either before or after the vineyards. This pizza is out of this world! The crust, sauce and all the toppings are perfect.

Decent pizza, especially in an area with not much else. Some of the guys behind the counter are friendly and seem knowledgeable. There doesn’t seem to be any type of signature dish. They do have pretty good garlic knots and pizza. Feels a bit low to give this 3 stars — anywhere else in the country, the food here would likely blow any other pizzeria’s away. On Long Island, it’s good for the remoteness of the location, and definitely better than some.

Plain pizza grades better than most, by Long Island standards. Grandma pie is their next best, Sicilian is average. Their best dish is the Penne Ala Vodka, with meat sauce. Very hearty, creamy dish. Ambiance in small dining room is what one would expect from small, strip-mall eatery.

Pretty decent pizza, the rest of the food is not bad, good prices, good portions, Can’t go wrong for the price and portions if your looking for a more inexpensive Italian meal, but there is better Italian on the NOFO, and better pizza too.

Whenever we come visit family in Long Island, we love getting takeout from Michaelangelo. It’s nothing fancy, just a classic Italian pizza place. They have a wide selection of pizzas in the front, and you can purchase them by the slice or the pie. My favorite thing is to get their chicken parmesan dinner, and their gorgonzola salad. SO good. Reasonably priced and satisfying, I recommend trying this place.

Will never return. The«manager» Anthony was rude, incompetent and when I suggested that I would not come back(Southold!!) he said ok. There was a large table of drunk twenty something’s loudly singing, screaming and cursing. When we asked Anthony to suggest they lower the volume he said, «what do you want me to do — throw them out?» They came to have fun. I told him they were annoying all the other customers he said«they probably don’t realize how much noise they are making«DUH! Going to call manger tomorrow to report him.

I have been eating at all of the Michelangelo’s for over almost 25 years. It is the standard I hold all others too. I have never had a bad meal, and am always treated like family. Hands down the best!

This place is pretty good for a strip mall. Good pasta. Good eggplant parm… If you want reasonably priced and reasonably good Italian go there.

Michelangelo’s is the reverse-mullet of restaurants: pizza party in the front, business italian in the back. I’ve been coming for years, have had both the take-away pizza and dined in the sit-down restaurant, and I far prefer the pizza. The pizza parlor(front of the house) is just what you would expect, plus a little extra: lots of freshly-baked pies, both traditional(round, flat) and Sicilian(square, flat or deep). They also have a handful of crazy options like sausage & broccoli rabe, or «salad pizza’, which I’ll probably never try, but give credit for trying. My favorite is Grandma’s Pizza, which is a thin-crust sicilian with plum tomatoes and lots of garlic. It’s delicious. The restaurant(back of the house) is fine if you’re looking for a sit-down meal with table service and a slightly wider menu than just the pizza. It’s a pretty typical red-sauce Italian restaurant: antipasto, pastas, meats/fishes. It’s the kind of place my uncle would describe as «taste the quantity»; in other words, you get a ton of food, but there’s nothing remarkable about it. It’s also fairly expensive, which I think is due to the fact that there aren’t a lot of restaurants in Cutchogue, Michelangelo’s is dependable, and their dining room is tiny.
