fresh, convenient, casual — not for those who are looking for inexpensive — but won’t be disappointed

I like places like this where they cook what they sell. Braun is mostly a seafood market and it shows. The market side seems bigger while there’s only a small space for seating on the restaurant side. I got the lobster wrap which I thought was good. I thought it would basically be a wrap version of a lobster roll but much to my surprise it was a full size wrap with a lot of sweet meat inside of it. The slaw and the potato salad were both pretty bland, seemed store bought. There were a lot of flies while we were eating which made it hard to enjoy everything, even with all the fly strips they had hanging up there were a bunch of them buzzing around trying to get into everything. I guess there’s a reason why it’s Braun to Go.

Love stopping here on my NoFo trips. I always order the specials on the board. Had fried blowfish once. Who knew it was awesome? Well, somebody did and I wish more places had it. Gotta pre-game with some New England Clam Chowder, but sometimes it’s a little thin. Stop by the fish market next door before you go.

I’ve been here a few times. My parents however go all the time. They have a huge variety of fresh seafood. They also have a section of the building with food to go(freshly made). They have tons of different wraps :) I had the shrimp chipotle with avocados… so good. In the summer they also have an ice cream shop and plenty of seating in the sun or in the shade.

These guys take forever, so not great if you’re buying to go but it’s friendly and the food is nice

I think if you stick with the salads or wraps this could be a good local option, but I highly recommend avoiding the fried stuff — the fried oysters were one of the grossest things I’ve eaten in some time. Surprisingly long wait for our order at lunch, and unlike other reviews I was unimpressed by the potato salad. Fries and tartar sauce were good though.

This place is a little shop on the side of a seafood market. They have a HUGE specials board that is heavily influenced by what the boats are bringing in that day. My wife got a soft shell crab sandwich. It was super tasty and they even brought him out so the kids could see before they turned him into a sandwich. The kids got fish and chips(excellent) and a burger(also good). I tried the halibut and chips and was not disappointed. Well cooked fish and good sides. We also tried the crab cakes and they were good and good portion sizes. Super friendly staff and good food and fast service. A great stop.

My fiancé and I were in the mood for some delicious seafood, we found this place online. I had the southwestern shrimp BLT wrap and she had the lobster avocado wrap. They were both AWESOME! The size of wrap isn’t going to be chipotle size but the flavors make up for it. We sat outside enjoyed the weather and people watched the locals which made it even nicer. The menu is extensive. We will definitely be coming back

Fresh seafood from the market and fresh seafood from the restaurant. Both are excellent. Had the blackened tuna the other night and it was cooked and seasoned nicely. The fries are great if you like them a bit crispy. Sandwiches are also very good. I usually order by phone and wait at least ½ hour before pickup since they do take some time to prepare the dishes. The market always has a nice selection of local fish. Flounder/Fluke is always fresh and reasonably priced. Scallops when in season are very good but can be expensive but no more than what other fish markets charge. The also have soups to go and clam pie which is very good. There are some new tables inside the restaurant but still only about 4 – 5 tables and they also have a big tent outside with tables and benches.

Fresh as can be seafood. Perfect lunch between wine tastings. A few small tables to eat in. Great prices and delicious food.

I used to love this place. I really did. My husband and I came here frequently over the past few years. I used to order the fried shrimp basket until they mistakenly gave me fried scallops once, and I liked them so much that I ordered that from now on. Their New England clam chowder was always very good but some of their bisques have been thin and lacking in texture. The reason why we stopped going there was their consistency with some of the dishes my husband ordered. Sometimes it was that they gave a smaller piece of fish on his sandwiches, but other times the quality of the fish was severely lacking. Manager doesn’t seem to want to please her customers, just justify what they served us. We found another place in the area that has just as extensive of a menu and has been consistently good.

Excellent Seafood! We came here on a recommendation — bay scallops were in season and we had a craving! Place is a small take out restaurant attached to a fish market. There are a few tables to eat in, the scallops were awesome decently priced and served with potatoes and veggies. Bring a bottle of white from one of the wineries nearby.

Limited review. One visit. Lobster salad to go. for me in the car when driving back with their amazing Montauk caught sea scallops. Both. uhmm 10 stars. Those Montauk just caught sea scallops were better than ANY other local sea scallops. Whiter, firmer, sweeter, amazing. On the way home. comparing lobster salad to other east end places, Tully’s in HB, or Dock House in Sag Harbor, or Lobster Roll, Amagansett. all good. but I really found this super fresh, super firm not mushy salty, nor heavy mayo. etc. Really perfect. The east end can ruin you for anywhere else. The north fork even more so.

We stopped in last night on our way home from apple/pumpkin picking and were pleasantly surprised. The place offers very little in terms of atmosphere and furnishings, so don’t go there expecting a formal sit down dinner. It is as far from formal as you can get: plastic plates, forks, knives and no waitresses or bar service. They have a few small tables inside and about eight picnic tables outside. What Braun’s does offer is fresh, delicious, made to order seafood at a reasonable price. The fried fish platter which included cod, tilapia and catfish was moist, savory and well seasoned, however the pre-made frozen french fries have to go. We also ordered clams on the half shell and the fried clam strips which were very meaty and tender. They reminded me a little of the Ipswich clams we get at Quincy Market. I really enjoyed the coleslaw but you can skip the macaroni salad which was bland. You may have to wait a little while for food because a lot of their business is take-out. It may look empty inside but there could be 10 – 15 orders ahead of you, so you might want to call in your order before you get there. There is also an extensive fish market next to the restaurant that is open during the day. I’m looking forward to going back and trying the fried oysters, lobster and New England clam chowder. I’d also like to buy some striped bass from the fish market since I haven’t been able to catch any all summer!

I was once a huge fan of this place, in fact according to Unilocal I am the duke here. I live in Western Nassau County, so this means that we really loved this place. Look at my first review here, it was 5 stars. Due to the issues faced during my last several times here I doubt that I will ever return. My first complaint is their inconsistency. I order the same thing every time that I come here; a grilled Swordfish sandwich. It was so good and the horseradish sauce on it was great! The inconsistency is the portion. On some occasions the cut of Swordfish can be huge ¾ lb. and on others it will barely be ¼ lb. this is not an exaggeration. I worked at a gourmet seafood and marketplace and know exactly what I’m getting. The thing is I’m paying the same price no matter what I’m served. Unfortunately the it’s been on the small side most of the times recently. This essentially means that I am being served a roll with very little meat. I also feel that ¾ lb. or more is too much for a sandwich, don’t get me wrong I’ll take it but this is probably hurting the business. If they are doing this to me I’m sure that they are inconsistent with most meals. On to the last straw… 2 weeks ago I ordered the sandwich again and was given such a small piece of Swordfish and 1⁄3 of the meat was blood line(dark red/brown fishy disgusting meat that is to be cut away unless you are gross and like that sort of thing). If the Swordfish steak was being served as a dinner on a plate the blood line can be left in, one would have a fork and knife to cut it away, but this is a sandwich! After I removed the bloodline there was very very little good meat left, I felt robbed. When I worked at a fish market we prepared sandwiches also but we always made sure that the blood line was cut out and that the cut of fish was the same weight. It’s called quality control. So yesterday we call up to place our order in advance and we get the woman who manages the to go side of Bruans on the phone. We decided to politely explain what happened the last time with the bad cut of fish in hopes that it will not happen again. She said«I have to use what the market gives me» in a very rude way. We replied can you at least cut the bad meat out so it isn’t there. She said«I’ll do what I can to find a clean cut». So I get my sandwich and the cut of Swordfish that I was served was so small and pathetic, worse than anything in the past. It was so thin that when I closed the sandwich I couldn’t see the meat. I felt like this was done in spite. The way that woman sounded on the phone and what I was served is very upsetting, we were good customers.

Nothing to write home about, unfortunately. It’s just OK. Not fantastic. Huge menu. We had: fish & chips– ordered flounder– received mystery fish that was fatty, chowder– hearty & nice flavor but lots o potatoes, fried bay scallops– they were ultra sweet & fresh but the breaded coating overpowered the seafood, cod cakes– decent but lacked punch, fries & slaw were limp & flavorless. Zero ambiance. TV but no music. Tiny inside seating for like 15. Service is ok. Bathrooms required attention.

Loved this place! People were super nice. They have a covered area with picnic tables you can eat at. We had: — lobster roll: the lobster was very flavorful and they were generous with the meat. The roll itself was only ok, next time I will ask them to butter and toast it — broil plate: flounder was melt in your mouth! Shrimp also plump and delicious. Bay scallops a bit overcooked. Roasted potatoes yummy! — new England clam chowder(bought frozen and ate at home): one of the best clams chowders I have ever had! No sand whatsoever. The clam and seafood flavor was really present and infused into all components of the soup. Texture was perfect(not too runny or too thick) and overall flavor was spot on. — toasted almond cream cake: eh just ok Overall seafood was delicious! We will definitely be stopping by on our next trip out to the area!

Ordered the lobster roll to go and brought it to a winery down the street! They do have indoor and outdoor seating that is very nice. Potato salad was amazing! Wish we had ordered a side of it. Cole slaw was also delicious. Lobster itself was great, but the roll/bread it was on was not fresh and was not good. I picked out everything and ate all but the bread. It was good this way, but I would have liked to have some fresh bread instead … Especially for 18.95! Would not come back here again or recommend to a friend.

Awesome fish market/restaurant with good food. We stopped by here after one of the winery’s recommended that we eat here and I’m so glad that we did. The place is what we imagined, a family run restaurant with great seafood for a great price. We had a lobster platter that comes with some clams and mussels, and also ordered the clam chowder and fried oysters. Everything was delicious, and the price unbeatable. I highly recommend this place.

Small dining area for dine in and seafood market place on the side. Whenever I visit Long Island for wine tasting, get dozen of fresh oysters from here for tasting room. $ 10.50 you can get dozen of fresh oysters. Small oysters but still fresh and comes with nice cocktail sauce. I like their New England clam chowder and fried seafood combo. But lobster roll is just so so. Maybe because of the bun they use, I couldn’t taste the it’s own sweetness of the lobster. Additionally fresh tomato toppings… It wasn’t for me. Staffs are friendly and helpful, have outdoor seating areas as well.
