Moon Thai in Southland Mall. Worst service in the world. Lack of respect for their Patrons. Waited 30 minutes for spring rolls never came. When asked to substitute salmon for tuna the sushi chef was rude and said No. We have been going to this restaurant for years and never had these problems. Charge us $ 20 when cancelled our order for 2 sprites, half empty bowls of miso soup and 2 side salads. Very upset and disappointed. Another bites the dust.

This is actually one of my fav restaurants for a quick lunch bite during the week, cause it’s right next to Assurant. Well, I made the mistake and going on sat 09⁄05 at night with my husband. Server seemed to be new but he was super polite, professional, made recommendations but kept on forgetting to bring our orders. Forgot the salads, and our tea. We had to remind him 3 times, ended up never getting the salad. It’s okay I understand he’s new but he’s trying. When we got our dinner, it came with the app 45 minutes after we ordered. we were starving, we ate the app which was perfect, our plates however, one was wrong but still good so we ate it and the second one was over cooked, we couldn’t bite or cut the cooked calamari so the waitress asked how come we weren’t eating that plate and I told him why, he said he was sorry and he would replace the plate for cooked scallops instead. 10 min later the manager«Poo» came and indicated that there will be an extra charge for the replacement dish, I said don’t worry the server took care of us, she said no I stopped the order until you approve the price difference. so I asked her if she understood what happened and she said yes, the kitchen told her they overcooked the dish, and you have the face to ask me to overcharge me? she said yes, business is business. so I told her to stop making anything else, we were leaving. I told her everything that went wrong and she never apologized at all. she asked at the end so do you want your dinner yes or no? the server came and was so sorry for the mess and he said that the manager makes their life impossible. I told her that the place is on its way to close if she was kept in charge. I called a week later and spoke to another manager, he was visiting the store he was very sorry for the experience and asked me to give them another chance. My husband refuses to go back because it was just a terrible experience and he wanted to give them a while to get their act together before we go back again.

Place has been open for a while now I look at every time I go to eat at BWW and wonder. Well i finally decided to stop wondering and give it a go. The location is a nice establishment. The décor and lighting very retro/club new age. They have a really sleek looking bar. The place is a cool looking inside. Food: I ordered some different variations of food along with my guest. I had their moon thai fried rice which had chicken, beef, shrimp and squid. The rice wasn’t bad but it wasn’t anything special. There were 2 shrimp and I couldn’t find the squid. It was a large portion enough for 2 to eat so no complains there. I also had the sweet and sour chicken again pretty big plate of chicken. It was a little to sweet for my taste. You know that feeling you get after eating to much candy where you are just like blahhhh. Well thats how It ended I didn’t finish the chicken. Overall the location is OK but nothing to die for. I noticed 4 hibachi tables but no one sitting. I would have probably preferred that but didn’t know if it was available they didn’t offer. Service was good got seated quickly and waitress attended us quickly. We received our drinks and food in a timely matter.

This place has been calling my name for a few years now and I finally visited for an early dinner on a Wednesday. It’s name has been changed to Moon Thai and is located in Southland mall. Inside the décor is cute with low lighting as well as red and blue lights everywhere. They have booths, hibachi seating and couch type seating along the sides. Our waitress was incredibly attentive and kind which is always appreciated! For an appetizer we ordered the spring rolls which were delicious. I thought it was weird to have an order of 3 spring rolls instead of 4 just to make it even among two people but whatever. My boyfriend ordered a plate of curry chicken that came with potatoes and cashew and a side of sticky rice. I had a beauty and the beast sushi roll that was a avo, cream cheese, and crab meat roll. Half were topped with eel and the other half with tuna. Both plates were excellent and fresh and we really enjoyed it. They had a lot of options and variety, a thai menu aaaand a japanese menu. The prices were right and the portions were decent. I’ll definitely return when I’m back in the area!

First off, geography – this place is «in» the Southgate mall area, in between BWW and Old Navy. In the dark and rain, it was almost impossible to find without the blue brothel glow. $ 3 Asahi and Blue Moon didn’t suck, but the Asahi tasted off. Happy hour(which I’d specifically come for) wasn’t all that and a tekka roll, honestly. They offered only five appetizers on the menu(compared to four mixed drinks – obviously this is the focus here), and one was«spicy peanuts.» I had the crab wontons/rock shrimp combo, the salmon crunch roll(which only had four pieces), and the«I want it all,» which was probably the only app worth the $ 5 I paid. I would recommend the«I want it all,» again, even though it’s clearly remnant fish from other sushi rolls, cut up, and set to marinade in an almost ceviche like brew. It was a little spicy, but a generous portion. I didn’t love it, and considering it’s location(in regards to my life) I don’t think I’ll be tempted back. But if you’re nearby, they have hibachi. Maybe that’s where all the action is.

I absolutely love this place. It has been my favorite for at least 3 years. I usually go in Sundays for the lunch specials I mean you can’t beat a lunch combo with soup and salad for 14 bucks.. the food quality and freshness is incredibly great the service and just the athmosphere. This place is usually never crowded because people in and out. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to have a nice meal without having to pay a fortune. Overall I will give this place a 5 stars. Clean fresh and amazing service !!!

I was going to wait on my food to write this review but I just couldn’t wait. I’ve ordered here before and loved the food, what’s changed is the the décor… it has been remolded and looks something like a «hot spot» on the beach. I love it! It’s happy hour and the bar isn’t packed but here are a few people sitting enjoying their drinks. The restaurant isn’t full but it is Monday at 5:45. I can’t wait to come back at night and get a feel for the place.

Delicious sushi, ginger salad and miso soup. My companions had curry and salads and they looked delicious as well. Our server, Jordan, was very nice and attentive and boxed our leftovers for us. Definitely pricey, but this is Miami. I appreciated happy hour deals on drinks. I liked the ambiance and it wasn’t freezing, which is always a restaurant plus for me. I get tired of having to remember a sweater just to eat a meal. I will be back next time I’m in the area.

First time here. Friendly efficient servers and a great happy hour. Calming décor sets the mood for romance. A great first date place. The menus are big and give bright pictures and descriptions of their huge selections of Jap/Thai dishes. Oh yeah, the food is outstanding as well. Must try !!

Food was very good and so was the service. I’ve been here 4 times now. If you like Japanese/Thai food then this is a good choice. Kinda like Sea Saim.

I work close by and variety is hard to come by in the Southland Mall/Cutler Bay Area. Thankfully Stir does a great job of providing me with good sushi, and delicious Japanese and Thai lunch choices. In general I think the prices are a bit steep and tend to stick to their lunch menu. I tend to go about twice a month or so and have yet to find anything that I don’t like there. The interior of the restaurant is decorated well and the service is usually on point. I’ve never been to this location at night but I think it would make a cute date spot too! Overall I enjoy Stir Moon’s food and while it is slightly expensive, you get a lot of food for the price.

If you are the indecisive type, coming here might be a slight prob, with a full Japanese Menu, full Thai Menu, and Specialty Rolls menu you’ll find yourself unconsciously ordering with your eyes. Easily over 200 different items/dishes combined amongst all the menu’s-things will go two ways– either you will decisively choose different various dishes-or you will go back and forth between the large menus contemplating and wondering in confusion of what you actually feel for. I go by the saying, «Variety is The Spice of Life», so I love the wide variety of dishes here, but the«plain jane’s» might not be so fond of it. What excites me the most about this location and other Stir Moon spots, is that they really take their sushi rolls to another level. You will find the sushi norms like the dragon roll, volcano roll, spider roll and others, but their Specialty Rolls are truly special. If you prefer raw sushi rolls, like myself– this is a great place. One of my favorites is the Ceviche roll, which consist of mixed raw seafood marinated in lime juice, rolled as a regular sushi roll. A few other rolls I like are the The Three Way Toro and Tri Toro rolls. The fish is pretty fresh, and a nice variety of types. They do use the much tastier Red, Black, and Wasabi tobiko’s in many of the rolls instead of the common masago than many sushi places use. The Tako and Saba are always extremely tasty and great a la carte items. As for how the Thai dishes are, the chicken pad thai is on point, as well the variations of coconu milk soup(tom kai-) that they serve, especially the«king of sea» hot pot, a coconut milk-lemon grass based soup with an assorment of mussels, prawns, scallops, mushrooms and other seafood, one of the better versions of «tom kai ghai» that I’ve had over the years. One downfall would be that, the service is slightly suspect sometimes though. Wait times are pretty short Décor is nice and simple, with large spacious dining tables(for all the food they attempt to try to convince your eyes to order) Menu is in the moderate price range, but don’t be surprised if your bill tally’s up to more than anticapted, as noted above, the menu’s can be somewhat overwhelming with such a large amount of possible choices Great Family Spot, or Date night outing.

Yummmm!!! Omg I love this place. I had the regular California roll and it was extremely fresh. They make it when you order it. Also very yummy! I also had #801(don’t remember the name) But it had clear noodles with chicken. It was so tasty I mean really good. They gave a lot of food so I took some home. Then for dessert we had thai donuts. I mean wow!!! They were warm with a delicious sauce. The worse part of the dessert was sharing lol. The service was pretty good the only thing is just to be attentive but overall it was a great place I will be back for sure

My family has been going to Moon since they opened in Coral Gables, and I have been coming to this location in Southland Mall since I moved south 4 years ago. There is a guy named Fernando who has worked all their locations and he is excellent. He always knows who I am and asks about my family. Service is generally good at the Southland location because it doesn’t get as packed. Lately they’ve made some renovations and it looks nice. They have huge booths, which I love. They also have a great happy hour Monday-Thursday 5 – 8 which includes appetizers and nigiri at $ 1.50 per piece, you can’t beat that. The food has always been pretty good, they have fresh fish and good Thai food. The Pad Thai is generally considered one of the best around if you like Pad Thai. My personal favorites are the Vietnamese Phở Soup, which I consider to be better than even the established upscale Vietnamese restaurants in Miami, the Playboy Roll, the Yokohama Roll and the Beef Larp Appetizer. The only reason they are getting 4 stars is because they recently stopped delivering out of nowhere and because it seems like every time I try to order the amazing Dynamite Taro appetizer, which is on the Happy Hour menu, they are«out» of it, even at 5:30PM.
