I love a good burger… I will travel far and wide for a good burger and now think I’ve found a place I will travel to often. I was a little skeptical as I walked up as the grill is located in a strip mall with severely tinted windows which make it look kind of sketchy, but the interior décor is very warm and welcoming with lots of space on the inside. I tried the Sunburn because all of life is more enjoyable with a little spice. It was a decently sized burger and was very tasty. They have a lot of options that add to the tradition burger so stop by this location and find the option in their vast menu that fits your taste.

I would rate this place 3.5 stars, so I guess that rounds up to a 4. I used to love, love, love this place. It is my understanding the person that used to make the burgers here left to go open The Shack — also in the area. The burgers were awesome and we used to have fun watching folks eat the El Diablo Burger. We went this past weekend to eat there. I had the chicken fried chicken, potatoes, and mac and cheese. The food was good, but only the mac and cheese was awesome. Maybe the burgers are still good. Next time I go back I’ll opt for a burger instead(with a side of mac and cheese.) If you’re in the area, it’s worth a stop.

Ohh man I saw the great reviews and had to give it a try. We got the burgers to go and they were great! The best part just might be the bun. Quiet place with lots of craft beer, so give it a try.

Was looking for a new craft beer bar and this place is great! Has delicious food, awesome bathrooms, and the bartender drew was super attentive! This is definitely my new favorite spot! Plus, even though there’s only about 20 taps, they keep them constantly updated.

Love the burgers but, the service we had at the time was not good. I would go back because I really enjoyed the food.

Their Mac and cheese is the bee’s knees! Swiss?! Who is the genius who invented it?! Very very clean and my wife loves the funckie Stevie(buffalo chicken sandwich) Good beers on tap and mimosas on Sunday

Yum, yum, I ordered the King Bubba which was purely delectable, but the Mac n’ cheese was almost orgasmic. Had a micro brew as a pairing and who could ask for more. So wanted to take home some of that Mac n’ cheese but the Mrs said no way

My family really wanted to try a burger from Rockwell one evening. Apparently, it was too close to closing time though so we were sol. After a two hour play at my daughter’s school, we turn to Unilocal(of course) to figure out where to eat since it was 9:15 and nothing seems to stay open late near me. Rockwell came up as «open»(until 10). And I had had it bookmarked for a while. Sweet. At 9:30 we pulled into the parking lot. We notice half the chairs are already put up… Ok… Are they closed? Nope. We see people eating. Is 30 minutes til close too late to walk in? I mean, usually I make It a point not to arrive 15 til close, but 30 should be ok. Wrong. Ok so we weren’t told«go away we are closed» but the welcoming we received when we walked in said so. We go in, immediately we are asked«you wanna sit at the bar?» No. We don’t. We are a family and want to eat. At a table. I could tell by the tone of his voice he was annoyed that we had wanted to patronize this family business at such an ungodly hour(9:30) so I asked, «you’re closing soon?» And the gentleman says«yes, in a few minutes». Nice. Well, I looked at my family and said«let’s just go». So we turned and left. And went to Whataburger where, believe it or not, the guy in the drive thru was incredibly friendly. Too bad. I really wanted to avoid driving around for a good burger and definitely won’t be returning in the future– no matter the time of day.

King Bubba medium rare. The best balance of delicious runny egg and juicy meat on a cheddar jalapeño bun. The corn fritters are amazing. Appetizer: half order of chili cheese fries… still plenty enough to share!

Great place for lunch. I had been wanting to go here for a while. It was was Unilocal and peer approved. Met a friend there for lunch and got the chicken fried chicken. Came out hot and the gravy was perfect. Asked for extra and it was no problem. Homemade fries were some of the best I’ve had. Nice and crispy. I wasn’t drinking beer today, but they seem to have a nice draft selection which is always a plus in my book. Again, great place for lunch, had us out of there in under an hour.

I debated 2 or 3 stars — I finally decided on 3 even though I just gave this restaurant it’s last chance. The beer selection is AWESOME! If you are in the Cypress area and are looking for a place with great craft beer — definitely go here. Sit at the bar where you can easily make eye contact with the staff and don’t order food. The food is actually fine. It’s not spectacular but it’s decent and the craft beer selection has kept us coming back despite repeated bad service. The problem here is the service. The place has high turnover and I’m not sure they have much training. Several times I’ve had to read the menu to the staff because they are unfamiliar with it. Staff has been chronically slow. They are generally friendly but I have often wondered if management pulls nice people off the street and just throws them in to figure out how to wait tables. The staff generally seems lost. If you don’t mind explaining menus to the staff, flagging them down for everything and going over the ticket carefully to check for mistakes, and you love craft beer, then it’s definitely worth a try. I love supporting neighborhood businesses, but I just can’t handle the service issues here anymore. I’ve given them 5 – 6 chances.

This was an unexpected treat! We were driving around looking for somewhere, any where to eat other than a fast food chain when we stumbled across this bar & grill. The burgers were big and juicy, and each one is expertly prepared. What makes them super unique is the sweet, jalapeño sourdough bread bun. Great place!

Service– great, friendly staff, lots of smiles! 4 star service. Courteous but not above and beyond good to be awarded 5 stars. Atmosphere– I went at 11:30am on a Friday and it wasn’t busy. Place is clean, laid back, casual, western deco, the outside of building doesn’t do this place justice… Much more inviting inside as outside just looks blah! In fact my mom and I almost didn’t give it a shot because when we pulled up I was thinking«this is it?»… Didn’t look interesting but being the type to like trying hole in the wall places… I said give it a chance… Now the most important part— FOOD. I was disappointed they didn’t have BRunch today, which is the only reason I came here being that I saw a 4 star rating overall out of 163 reviews… :(apparently the day to come here is on SUNDAY! Needless to say… we still stayed and ordered the bubba burger– jalapeño bun, beef, bacon, egg and sweet potato fries and my mom has the Aloha burger? Can’t pull up menu so can’t verify these names but it had jalapeño bun, teriyaki sauce, beef patty, And pineapple. The jalapeño bun is pretty good– soft and tasty, meat was dry, I like my meat medium and this was well done, sweet potato fries are good. My mom liked the aloha burger but I’m not a big fan of pineapples in my burger… So can’t be true judge of that. Generous portion sizes. All in all… Burgers are okay… Would not return for burgers. Not horrible just not«WOW I want that again» good… Think I should give this place a shot on Sunday and see if the hyped up reviews are legit on brunch and if would change my review…

Love the food here. Great burgers. I’m a huge fan of the Rock Slide 3 different sliders and I love the bun. The problem with this place is the service. I have never had decent service here. It has always been horrible and today was no different. Aaron was our server and he did horrible. He would rather laugh and mess around with other employees than take care of his table… yeah we were the only table… Enjoy the food but expect horrible service…

My husband and I walked in at 7:50 on Sunday evening, and as we were about to sit down at the bar to have a beer and order a quick bite to eat, someone from the kitchen came out and very rudely said, «You have exactly ten minutes folks» and walked away. The look on his face and the way he talked to us was like we annoyed him by walking in the door and were inconsiderate for walking in before closing. We were unaware that they close at 8, and they still had tables and people sitting at the bar. Their website even says they close at 9. In all reality, we probably would have been out of there before the other people, and the server would have had an additional tip to take home, but after being treated so poorly, we turned around and left. Nobody said anything else to us. We were repeat customers that will not be going back. I’ll take my business where it’s valued and the customer is treated respectfully. We actually ended up at The Shack(which has delicious food and polite people) after leaving Rockwell Tavern.

It’s been a year or so since I had the chance to come back here. The food is still awesome! Girl friend had chopped steak. It came covered with gravy, mushrooms and onions. I had the rock slide with a side of sweet potato fries. It’s 3 different sliders and a plate full of fries. Finger licking good. Definitely plan to be back more often.

I’m somewhat disappointed to see some of the negative reviews for Rockwells. I have always had great service and great food. Sunday is the day to go. Fried Chicken! It’s very tough to find Fried Chicken in Cypress so I’m happy they have it on the menu. They give you a LOT of chicken. 4 pieces. It’s more than one person can eat, so get an order and share it. The only thing they need to work on are their biscuits. They need to be tweaked. Excellent servers and super clean.

I found about this place from a fellow Unilocaler, who recommended this burger place in NW Houston(Others are the Shack and eT Craft Burger). First, I hope your parking luck has got you covered when you’re here. Luckily, my friends always managed to find one hiding next to these gigantic trucks. Food I have tried here: Gator Pickles Appetizer(2⁄5): Greasy, greasy, and salty. I couldn’t eat these alone. My friend and I had to eat them with our burgers together. We did not finish this. Burgers: They come on a sweet sourdough jalapeño bread, which was delicious! I want it stored in my pantry! You can opt to a veggie patty and white/wheat bun. Convict Hill Outlaw(4⁄5): Pickles, Onions, Cheddar & American Cheese, Fry Sauce & Pastrami with Convict Hill Stout and Spicy Mustard. Literally one of the best burgers I have had recently. Probably top 3 in my opinion. This is a huge burger, so you do have to open wide to manage a bite. By the way, I was so satisfied with it that I barely ate the side of hush puppies. I highly recommend this burger. Vintage(3⁄5): Swiss, Cheddar, & American Cheese with Bacon. I haven’t had a classic burger in forever. Just juicy. Another solid burger I have tried, but you can’t really go wrong with classic simple burgers. I got onion rings with this, which were decent. Menu: They serve other items besides burgers, and I have not tried them so can’t say much about those. Burger menu is decent. I prefer burgers here than eT Craft’s. Bar: This is the first thing you see when you enter Rockwell. Full bar. They rotate a selection of local beer. I remember reading daily specials somewhere by the bar. Check those out. Service: I have only been here twice. One time was near closing, so we definitely got great service. The other time was for lunch. They’re understaffed. About 2 – 3 waiters from what I remember. Drinks needed re-fills. You can tell they were trying to rush when people kept coming in. PS– They offer free WIFI, just ask for the password. Atmosphere: Casual. I would say it’s like a Willie’s with a more homey feel and that it isn’t a chain, of course. I thought the ladies’ restroom was pretty neat. Just threw things here and there together and created something interesting, design wise. Lots to look at. If you are craving a burger, come to the area and try a Convict Hill Outlaw(if you don’t mind the drive)!

I’ve been to this place several times to order different things and I cannot give any more higher ratings because it’s not going to get any better like I hoped What made me update this review was the Mac and cheese and it was the most horrible and disgusting mac and cheese I EVER ate in my life and I felt bad even feeding it to my child. It tasted like the $ 1 sliced cheese I accidentally bought one time. Taste like SHIT. The texture and taste was exactly like cheap cheese. It was like they boiled the noodles and added cheese slices to their pot to make it cheesy. You can still even see the cheese slices. That is so ghetto!!! The cheese don’t even dissolve and you can still see clumps of it. I am so upset about this I am even considering calling to complain which I never do. It was very bland and had no seasoning nor any flavor. The cheese didn’t even taste cheddary. I also had the chili cheese fries which was also not good. For sure not coming back

Recently met up with some friends to celebrate a birthday. I usually do not go out this far for anything but hey this group is THE group that I hung out with in the 80’s & only see every so often. So H & I schlepped out for the mid-day party(cuz we’re old & need to be home by dark) & at first I thought«this is it?» when we saw the small strip center that Rockwell’s calls home. Very non-descript with blacked out windows. Didn’t even know if I wanted to enter the place. But we did and were very surprised to see a large open room with a big bar & plenty of seats. We had several appetizers: Gator Pickles — fried pickle slices dipped in Abita Andygator beer batter. These little slices of heaven were fried crispy & wonderfully delicious. Roasted red pepper hummus — creamy with a zing of garlic & red pepper. Roqueso — queso with grilled steak, yes please can I have some more? Very creamy, cheesy goodness, by far one of my favorite quesos in town. Now I will admit I know absolutely nothing about beer. I know what I like which is usually something light(Lawnmower, Land Shark) but beer is never my first choice so I let H order for me & soon I found a Namaste by Dog Head set in front of me. Not bad! Loved the citrus-y-ness of it & went well with the apps(which the host provided for us). H wanted something more substantial to eat so we asked for a menu. Again I left the ordering up to H after we decided to split a burger. He opted for the Convict Hill Outlaw. OK, sounds good! And oh my, mother of Pearl this burger was so freakin’ good I drove across town & slapped my mama. This burger is topped with pastrami that has been braised in Convict Hill Stout, cheddar & American cheeses, bacon & other heavenly things like fry sauce(no idea what that was). Mile high burger that will have you praising the Burger Gods. Damn, just writing this review is making me crave one RIGHTNOW! Service was excellent & loved the clean bathrooms(cute theme & lots to look at). I did notice they serve breakfast on Sunday with offerings like Earl’s Cajun Hash(boudin!) &CFS& eggs I think we will have to schlep out that-a-way some Sunday. This time I will bring my mom, you know just in case I have to slap her again.
