I was craving a juicy burger and I definitely got it. It was sooOOoo juicy that the bottom bun was soggy and inedible. I didn’t see anything overly unique on the menu. Unfortunately, the patties started to fall apart as soon as we took each bite too. I have to say its quite messy to eat. On the brightside, i liked the atmosphere. They even have live music from time to time and there’s plenty of entertainment. I can’t say I would be back but be warned, the Dang Dang sauce has a major kick. Note* No other condiments other than ketchup self serve but you can ask for ones behind the counter.

Yummmm … finally made it to The Shack! Well worth the wait, I’m past stuffed. The burger, the fries, everything was great and the servings, huge! Loved the margarita’s as well, great flavors. Nice casual and eclectic atmosphere that’s great for kids & groups. I’ll be back soon!

Very cool burger barn, friendly bar tenders /wait staff. Don’t come here if you’re on a diet tho, the brisket covered cheese fries are some of the best fries I’ve ever had. Their burgers are great, but the best part about this place is the variety of beers they have on tap, great selection!

This was the first time my husband and I ate here. The food was huge and great. You certainly don’t want to worry about your waistline here… the selections are many and creative. Not a fan of onion rings only because I haven’t found any good ones here in Houston/Cypress area– but these were very good — not great but were very good. Not too greasy and held the coating/batter. There is a lot to do here if you have a family or want to have a birthday party or family party and there is a side area for live music and lounging. The service was great and very friendly. Negative note: Bring your own Charmin — not a square to spare.

When I came I was super hungry so I didn’t really check out the place. I had The Shack in my bookmarks for quite some time and I finally got to go! I ordered the Mac n cheese burger, fries and a drink and it somehow came out to 23 dollars??? they give you a card with a famous persons name instead of taking your name which is pretty cool. We were inside and still got bit by mosquitos… I wish they had some repellent! I would eat here more often if they had repellent. The food looked delicious the burger was WAAAY to big to fit in my mouth, so I had to cut it in half. When I took my first bite I was in heaven!!! but soon after that my burger began to fall apart! The bread was soggy and they put way too much Mac n cheese. the fries were not good I only ate a couple. overall, I’d say this place is pretty good but just the little things that made me rate it a 4

Worst food, service and customer treatment ever. If the same person owns both, they need to be told. We are fans of the Shack on Rosehill so we thought we would give this a try. Please make the trip to Rosehill. We were at a birthday dinner so we have 16 who will never return to this one. Beware… they want you to tip before you get any service. I hate writing bad reviews but just couldn’t let this one go. Owners please make some changes.

Awesome first experience here. They have plenty of unique burgers that definitely are worth the price(~$ 9 – 15 at most). Their beer selection is incredible. They have a drink menu that is PAGES long, featuring an impressive amount of beers on tap. The old country music playing in background made you feel like you were hanging out at an old barn. I’ll definitely be back soon

Really disappointing. Came here a few weeks back expecting to have the best burger of my life… Horrid taste and they brought my sons food out 30 mins after the adults though his was ordered at the same time. Since this is a new location I plan to give it another shot in a few months. Hopefully they will get it together by then.

Hubby got the dang dang burger. He says it was amazeballs lol if you like a spicy burger then this is for you. He says the sauce is no joke. And not for the wimps such as myself. I got the mac and cheese burger. I didn’t get much of the Mac and cheese because my toddler claimed it all :) but what I did was good. It was bigger noodles(not kraft brand size). And since this was our first visit here we also got the southern rock fries(hand cut fries covered in brisket, bacon and melted cheese sauce). Those were really good! I would have just gotten those had I known how big the size.

Love The Shack. Went for our third time today. I had the Hannabanana and Hubby had the Fireman. We had the Western Froes I believe with cheese and brisket. Nothing was bad. I love the Hannabanana even though banana chips on a burger sound weird. So many different flavor a that hit you at different times. I honestly like the counter set up. I prefer to not be constantly bothered by eating and like the casual atmosphere. Not only that but the bar has an amazing selection.

Uhhh I wanted so badly to like this place. I mean — it has all the components to being a superstar! Ambience is Nashville meets Hendrix vibe. The food should be something just as special though– especially at the prices they’re charging. I had the 5 napkins — fried egg/bacon/cheddar/lettuce tomato– the meat was ok(very crumbly). The egg was overlooked so I didn’t need many napkins as the name referenced. The bacon was horrible– like it was old bacon reheated? Very greasy. The fries were lukewarm and limp. My son had the burger with honey buns and it was the same. Husband had the 1836 burger with chorizo. He liked it but said it was nothing extraordinary. 3 burgers + 2 fries + 3 drinks + 15% tip = $ 63. For burgers!?! Yes for burgers. Service was also off. We wanted to sit outside so my son could play on the playground. Also, no a/c inside. Out of 10 tables or so – not 1 was clean– all still with last patrons’ food. It was not that busy either so obviously it was short staffed. I asked an employee cleaning a table off inside of they could please get to a table outside. They were very snooty about it. They should be embarrassed! Everything is self serve. You walk up to a counter to order. You pick up your order. You get your drink from a fountain. I don’t see the need for a tipping option. If they could get some good kitchen help — this place would be amazing. Like drive-across-town-amazing. C’mon burger shack! You can do better!

The play area alone is worth it! Cool use of an old recycled bus. Live music on the weekends. Go on a beautiful day and watch the kiddos play while you eat a pretty unique hamburger. Downside: no baby changing table in the restrooms. HUGE problem when you have a little one! But the burgers are artery-clogging good!

Been to the Cypress-Rosehill location many times, and was a little afraid that my former Houston burger champ was sliding. My recent visit to the newer Telge Rd. location seemed to reinforce that fear. Ordering takes place up at the bar here, then your food is brought to you when ready. Our orders arrived quickly, and the staff was consistently friendly during our visit. As for the burger… I ordered the Billy Bob Ngyuen burger(Asian fusion brisket, onions, Cheetos), and found it simply disappointing. Not bad, just not exciting. Thought the brisket portion was generous, the fusion didn’t seem to be fusing — just not a lot of flavor there. The buns seem to be improved from recent visits — a little more structure to them. Regular fries were good as always. As with the other Shack location, the vibe here is über-casual, and is very kid-friendly. Pretty good beer selection on tap. I’m too big of a Shack fan to give up on them, but I’m currently riding a 2-burger-yawn streak, so hoping for better luck in the future.

I can see why The Shack is a great place if you have a hangover. It’s got greasy food on the menu, filling meals with lots of sugar and salt, and larger portions than you thought were ordinarliy Texas sized. About four of us went to The Shack on a Sunday since we were in the area anyway. A few things we noticed: 1) it’s super kid friendly 2) Has sports screaming out of its speaker 3) Lots of tables 4) Lots of parking 5) Not fine dining like you’d find inside the loop We all opted for a burger, and this was difficult for me since I’m not a pork-eater. Every other item has a pork item, and if I remember correctly, there is only ONE vegetarian burger. I’m not sure if any of its vegan. Sorry, guys! Since my husband and I didn’t have breakfast, we felt our meal here was sufficient saturated fat for a breakfast and lunch on a Sunday. We probably won’t be back, but if you’re in the neighborhood, having a hangover, or don’t know where to take the kids, then this place might work for you.

This is an interesting place. If they could get some consistency with the cooks that would solve the issue I have and get another star. I love Joe, and the exciting food he puts out. But sometimes it’s awesome and sometimes it’s «meh». I do love their sides. The onion rings are the best ones. But feel free to venture out. The yucca fries are gross and I don’t recommend them. I haven’t been back since they had their liquor license, and am struggling if I should go back. I feel as if I owe joe one more chance. So let’s say for now, I’ll see you there again. Syoy!

My wife and I came in today on a Saturday with beautiful weather. We were promptly greeted at the main door which is located at the warehouse looking building. We more politely informed that we should grab a menu and then approach the bar to order. This could be confusing to a first time visitor as there is no distinct line for ordering as you would in a café express style restaurant. Do not hesitate in paying a full service tip as during the remainder of our visit, we were checked on numerous times and had several drink refills. We ordered the 5 Napkin Burger and Southern Rock smothered fries with a generous portion of I think it was generous brisket, bacon and nacho cheese. The fries were large enough or three or four people, and certainly worth the $ 9 price tag. The 5 Napkin Burger was a full half pound of quality beef that was well seasoned and warrants the $ 10 price tag. I certainly would recommend both of these items. I believe the food quality exceeded expectation based upon our first impression of the overall the atmosphere. This place is very rugged looking, but has numerous options for children’s play. This is definitely a family restaurant, but the quality of the burger would be suitable at a white tablecloth restaurant. The restaurant appears to have worked out the service issues, as I thought that the service was great on this occasion. I will certainly be returning to this restaurant, and I hope it keeps up the good work to where I don’t amend my review. Since, to me, this restaurant is in a totally separate category, I’m going to give it 5 stars. It certainly has exceeded my expectations and it definitely deserves more than the current 3 star rating.

Our first time at The Shack on Telge. Coming from The Woodlands was about an hour drive. The parking lot was pretty full and we were concerned there wouldn’t be any seating but we were able to get a table. One thing I’d like to see is more outdoor seating since there is plenty of room for more tables. The outside tables definitely get snatched up quickly. The vibe of this place is definitely Texas. We loved it! Huge stage, the live music was awesome! Ordering was a breeze, not sure why people are complaining, food came pretty quickly too. There was even staff walking around cleaning up and checking on tables. I ordered the guac burger with pickle chips and a couple coconut margaritas. Best burger and margarita I have ever had!!! For real amazing! Seriously so so good! My husband ordered the 5 Napkin and fries and he also thought it was the best burger he’s ever had! Kids got grilled cheese and fries. I’ve already told our friends on how we all need to go here! Pleeeeasee consider a location in the Conroe area! This place would do amazing here! The kids can’t stop talking about how they got to play on the school bus and dance to the live music.

POs, the previous version of this restaurant, was an institution in this area, but it was a bit like walking into the bar scene in Star Wars… so it closed. The Shack is still getting its footing as a new location; service can be uneven, slow, and the pricing is higher than average for the area. That said, the last kiss fries were hand cut, skin on, fresh.(I 86’d the bacon, kept the garlic & queso & thought it was great), the 1015 onion rings were light, with a good ratio of onion to batter. I had the hippie burger; the portobello was marinated and flavourful, the pesto was fresh & well seasoned & the feta was salty, but not overpowering. Look at that, vegetarian options out in the way, way, suburbs?! Overall, a very good meal. Did I mention that they provided a 50%(yes, FIFTY) off discount for military service & police, firefighters, and first responder personnel? Yeah. You may be grouchy about $ 12 for a burger(why? It’s not 1983, food prices go up…) but your $ 12 helps cover the cost of serving ex military, police, etc. not shabby. If they can figure out expediting the food orders & evening out the service issues, this place will be a huge success as the food is already excellent.

Love the atmosphere and new digs of The Shack on Telge. Choosing from the bucket of «celebrity» names was fun, but hearing«ABELINCOLN, your order is ready» really made us laugh out loud. I’d typically give The Shack a 4, but since both our Last Kiss fries and Onion Fries were cold, one point deduction. This time. :) I had my favorite, the Grease & Weasel. Always delicious and lunch the next day. Hubby had my 2nd fave, Texas Flood, full of cheesy goodness and my parents who were in town from NC both enjoyed and complimented their Funshroom burgers We’ll definitely be back and hopefully the growing pains will disappear. LOVELOVE the ambience! Great space for family and friends! Check them out! P. S. When the weather is cooler, this place will be packed! :)

My aunt recommended The Shack for dinner since she lives nearby and that’s where we went! I glimpsed at the reviews at the old location and it seemed very promising. I’ll start with the bad… Cons: 1.uhhh where do we order? I thought the big open looking bar area with a bunch of tables was where we ordered… Nope«through the double black doors.» There was a sign… But it wasn’t obvious enough! 2. Even the area to order was a bit confusing, all the tables were taken and it was a pretty good amount of people. There was no wait to order… But The wait for the burgers was 35 minutes… Okay, not bad. After we ordered they changed it to 45 min… WHAT!!! cooking a burger shouldn’t take that long… We got our burgers within 25 minutes though… It wasn’t that busy to have a 45 min wait… 3. We ordered the fries southern rock fries. It has potential. The fresh cut fries were soggy. There was a weird aroma tomthe fries and we figured it was the brisket! It’s that type of smell that gives you a headache and want to vomit… So I didn’t really enjoy the fries. They need to use a new type of wood to smoke their brisket… 4. My boyfriend ordered the«Billy Bob Nguyen.» He didn’t really like it and he felt it wasn’t worth the money… He could’ve just gone to a bbq place and ordered a brisket sandwich with bbq sauce… 5. A bit pricey… They should include fries or a side if it’s a min of $ 9 a burger… Our meal was $ 31 not including tips(even though the cashiers were playing with each other’s hair…). We ordered two burgers, two fountain drinks, and southern rock fries. Now to the good. Pros: 1. Im really simple. So the only burger I saw That I liked was the«M’S Burger.» It was topped with Gruyère, lettuce, toms, 2 thick strips of bacon and mayo. I liked it. The patty had a good flavor and it was juicy! I also like the bun. It’s similar to brown bag deli’s bun. 2. Wait for burger as stated earlier was 25 minutes instead of 35. 3. It’s a fun place with a junkyard themed playground for the kids. 4. I’ll definitely come back again, but I will avoid the southern rock… 5. Isn’t this place new? Our table was old and was rocking a lot… We had to sit there since it was the only one available… But it was better than nothing!
