It’s our secret go-to place for lunch when we need our Tex Mex fix. Not fancy, tucked into a strip center. Really good fresh made food and a nice lunch menu too. They also offer tortas!

La peor comida mexicana! Exagerada grasa, muy malo el sabor, sucio restaurante. Caro y mala experiencia

By far the worst Mexican food I have ever tasted. I had a #2 lunch combo and everything on the plate was the lowest quality food you could possibly serve. It literally tasted dirty and like everything was from a can then microwaved. The restaurant is also very run down and not clean at all.

Love this place! Perfect neighborhood restaurant. The chicken enchiladas suiza are amazing. The poblano fajitas beef and chicken are really good too. Oh and don’t forget the margarita! If you like mole’ it is nice too.

Not good at all. Paid way much. Should have to Taco Bell. Service was good but that doesn’t make for the food. Oh and the seats were all broken down.

The queso is a powder mix and the chips are always burnt. Also the prices are kind of high for the quality of food. The only good entrée I have ordered is the carne guisada, not the best, but decent. The rice always tastes old. I wish it were better because it’s close to home :(service is always a 10++ though…

Awesome food, great service! We will return! It’s a small place and I didn’t expect it to actually be a restaurant but it was. It was a little warm but besides that the chips and salsa were delish. The enchilada sauce was the best ive had in houston. This place is a hidden gem.

Not the best, but certainly not the worst. Food came out hot, service was good. Not the best flavors I’ve ever had. Lunch menu was decently priced.

This is a family run local tex-mex restaurant. Food is good and fairly priced. Service could be a little quicker, but the staff is always nice.

My husband brought food for the family home today from Taco De Oro. All looked really good when he put it out on the table. I liked the salsa as it is the kind I like which I think is cooked. If you like fresh stuff, you won’t. I took a bite of a tamale. It tasted a little weird. I tasted another one and ended up spitting it out. We had beef enchiladas and tacos. Not very impressed. Queso just taste like melted cheese. Everything was missing flavor and quality is just so-so. My little one got a children’s meal of chicken strips and fries. He said the fries tasted like Jack in the Box(that’s a good things) but when he asked me to cut his chicken I couldn’t cut it with a knife. It was tough and stringy. Too many decent Tex Mex places in the area to have this again.

Our favorite close restaurant. I give it 5 stars in the TexMex category. Great margaritas for the price, the wait staff is super friendly and accommodating and if you order correctly the food can be very good. The homemade tortilla fajita meat tacos are amazing!

This place was really good! Service was great and their fajitas were amazing! It’s authentic, the salsa was not traditional but I really liked it. The beef fajitas were the best I’ve had in quite a while!

Pros — reasonable food prices — food comes out quick — friendly server — décor on the inside seems very local and Mexican — good food portions Cons — I asked for lemons with our water and they gave us limes, which were dried out — chips tasted a little stale and the salsa was kinda bland — the pork in the tamale was really dried and tasted a little odd This place is decent for a quick bite, but not an ideal place for a family dinner or nice night out.

Came across TDO while looking for a neighborhood TexMex place to get a quick snack. Won’t be back. Service on a Friday night was slow, despite a small crowd. Chips were pretty good — crispy, and with enough structure to hold the needed salsa load. Unfortunately, said salsa was not up to the task — a little sweet, and not nearly enough chunkage. Nachos and queso were less than pedestrian, despite prices higher than your typical neighborhood joint. Folks were nice, but the value just isn’t there — find another spot.

Returned back last week, the food and service is better. It’s hard to give more when the tastes were average. The wait staff was attentive to my family.

Hard to go wrong with this place. Good food, decent portions, good pricing, simple décor, and a block away(from me). Glad it’s here and frequent often. Check it out.

We live around the corner from the restaurant and it is our go to spot for a quick bite or take-out since moving to the area in 2009. As of yet we have still not had a bad meal here, the margaritas are strong and tasty and the food amount plentiful. This is not a fancy place and it does not try to be it is a small mom and pop [ with aunts and uncles thrown in ] family restaurant that we have been enjoying for years.

no thanks… the Sunday brunch buffet is worse than the cheap Cancun all-inclusive buffets!

With a thousand mexican restaurants to choose from in Houston, this is one that you would come to for quick lunch or dinner or if you have a specific dish that you really like. The service is always pleasant but the prices are just a tad high than you would expect for a place with such little ambiance. Having said thatt, its one of those places you cheer to «make it». After running kids around all day and early evening, I just wanted a place to come where it was fairly quiet and I could have a few beers and read my new Rolling Stone. I ordered what I think was called the Deluxe Plate $ 9.99 which included a beef taco, beef tamale, queso puff, cheese enchilada and refried and rice. I would give the meal a solid 3 stars and wouldnt hesitate to come back. I think i want to try the fajitas next time as they came by the table while I was enjoying my dinner and they smelled heavenly.

This little rough-cut diamond has quickly become our go-to spot for a quick bite of Mexican food. The décor lacks any trendy pretense or manufactured style. This is Abuela’s kitchen. Have a seat in one of the brown plastic chairs and get ready for a _meal_. The food is simple and well prepared. The prices are inexpensive without being suspiciously cheap(ie: You can be certain it’s beef you’re eating). The staff is super friendly and the service is good. If I have one reservation — last time I ordered a Taco al Pastor that was extremely greasy. I’m guessing it was just from the bottom of the pan. My previous experiences with the same dish were just fine, so this must have been an off day.

Love this small, hidden Mexican restaurant. We’ve been going for many years since moving in the area. The people here are VERY nice and attentive. The prices are affordable and it’s the perfect place for a quick bite to eat for lunch. We had a $ 6.99 jumbo margarita the last time we were there and it was soooo yummy. We also like ordering the combo plates. Everything is good here. However, it your typical Mexican restaurant. I would consider it more Tex Mex? The chips and warm salsa they give you when you sit down is SO addictive. Overall, this place is simply GOOD and does the job. =)
