Found this place while trying to find a place in lower greenville that has outdoor seating. What truly reeled me in was the DAILYHAPPYHOUR — INCLUDINGWEEKENDS! Their happy hour runs from 3p-7p and includes $ 4 margaritas, mojitos, caipirinhas, just to name a few. I ordered tacos, which ranged from $ 3 – 5. I got the carnitas, fried chicken, and crispy beef tacos. They were all delish! But if i had to put them in order from most to least favorite, it would be the crispy beef tacos, fried chicken, and the carnitas. I also ordered the nachos($ 5) and they were great as well! All the ingredients tasted fresh! Overall, definitely a cool place to hang out, relax, and enjoy tacos and refreshing drinks while you people watch!

Food was bleh and a man who seemed like he might be the owner was rude. Go to Taco Cabana across the street for better food and save some money too.

The place inside and out is very cute. I can’t remember what taco I ordered but it was okay. The corn was okay– nothing out of this world. My boyfriend got the scallop ceviche, It was okay, too. He then ordered the chicken tinga taco. Wasn’t great, wasn’t bad. The chips were good. I wanted to try the queso… I may go back to do that. The service was good, and friendly. And they were very on point to make sure we were okay with everything. I think I just had higher expectations. I wish it were better food! Sorry guys.

Street style corn, tacos, ceviche; it was all tasty. The brisket tacos are a must try. They also serve beer, wine and margaritas. The margaritas are as you would expect them to be.

Walked in at 8:30pm last night(Thursday night, reg business hours) and the guy working there said«sorry, we just closed.» What??? «Yeah, I just got a call saying to close, sorry.» For a new business, that’s a horrible idea, how can you build clientele like that? It worked out for the best bc we just walked down to HG Supply and had a great experience!

Went here for lunch with a large group of coworkers to celebrate my birthday. I’ve wanted to visit this place ever since it opened. We sat outside, which was apparently not so great for the server who had to run in and out of the restaurant and didn’t mention the«self-serve» chips/salsa bar that was inside until much later. We got our food in a decent amount of time, and there was hardly anyone else there, but the waiter seemed to be nervous, making a lot of excuses, and didn’t say things that were very appropriate. Maybe it was his first day? He had told some of us that it would be difficult to place an order later because he didn’t know what ticket they were on… Spilled some water on one of our employees, didn’t seem to be very sympathetic, but actually made a rude comment after joking with him… Told him and a couple others they can get the chips themselves inside instead of explaining from the beginning that there’s a self serve bar inside… And left us sitting outside with our checks until we finally figured out we had to pay inside… It just wasn’t the greatest service quality I would expect from a place that charges $ 12-$ 14 for ceviche. I give 3 stars because I am drawn to the fresh, tasty, brightly colored ingredients they use in their food, and with better quality service I believe they have a chance at becoming a really great place to hang out, have a drink, and enjoy a light tasty meal. The ceviche is a bit pricey but it tasted very fresh, and you’re able to add and choose from a variety of hot sauces they have available. The brisket tacos were definitely something I would come back for, especially $ 2 each during happy hour?! I can’t complain! Overall, nice atmosphere and an interesting addition to Lower Greenville.

Let me just start by saying that I really, really wanted to like this place. It sounded like a great idea and I had been dying to try it. However, I can honestly say I will never return. Everything from the food, to the service was way below par and there are so many better places to eat in this area. The inside is very industrial and casual, and looks like it should be a fast casual dining — but it’s not. They offer snacks, tacos, quesadillas, and ceviche and serve beers, wine, and cocktails. Our server had a serious attitude problem, was not very friendly, and honestly acted like she hated her job. We ordered avocado fries, and three baja ceviches. Food took forever and when we got finally received it was not even appetizing. I basically just ate it out of hunger. The fish was odd tasting, there was overpowering onion, no flavor in the sauce, and zero avocado — which I would hope to have at least a few pieces for $ 12 a pop. Our server heard us complaining about not having any so she brought us over a half avocado, which was fully brown. Overall very disappointing experience. Expensive for what it is and very unsatisfying. The best parts were the chips and avocado fries which allowed me to give 2 stars instead of 1.

Stumbled on this place and ended up being an amazing experience! Our group had shrimp c’viche, chicken tacos and quesadillas. The food was great and the service was over the top! I believe Ryan was our server and went above and beyond the entire time we there. Best service I’ve experienced in a long time!

DISCLAIMER: I have a deathly allergic reaction to eating most seafood, so this review is based on the non-seafood selections at C’Viche. C’viche, not really well known in the Dallas area, let alone Lower Greenville. However, this is definitely a pretty chill spot if you are looking for cheap and good quality tacos on a Thursday. One tip: All tacos(except ones that have fish in them) are $ 2 on Thursdays. It really is a steal for the quality that they produce. I got the Brisket taco and the Chicken tender taco. They both were a bang for $ 4 total. The Chicken tender one definitely had me filled up, and the sauce created a pretty balanced taco. The Brisket had also a good taste to it. However, they are definitely not the best tacos in DFW by far, and that’s okay. Overall, if I’m ever looking for cheap tacos on a Thursday after work, I now know where to go. Lastly, It may not look like it, but this is a full service restaurant after you pay, so just pay appropriately: P.

I was really craving ceviche and when I saw a place on Unilocal called C’viche, I was totally down. I noticed the mediocre review stars but I was determined. We went around 3pm so there was really no crowd. The service was fine, not over the top good & after visiting, I could see how a crowd of orders could get away from you since there was only the bartender acting as bartender & cashier. We had a reasonable wait for food and drink and the food hit the spot. 2-fish ceviche(tuna & the market fish of the day) with some chips. Perfect size for 2 people just looking to snack. I think I’ll avoid the prime time dinner hours bc I’m not down for long waits for a table. My experience was just fine though I would be wary to return based on other reviews.

We were so excited to try this place after driving past it a hundred times, so last night my friend and I got some dinner to go. Horrible idea. We got guacamole to share, my friend got the island combo ceviche, and I got the aguachile combo ceviche. Our guac was brown, mushy, and looked and tasted really old. We tried it, but just threw it away after a few attempts. The island ceviche was so bland my friend didn’t finish it, and my ceviche just tasted like lime juice. On top of all that we got a tiny half bag of chips that was supposed to last for two orders of ceviche and guacamole, and they were oily and stale at the same time. Definitely not worth $ 40 to end up just throwing most of it away.

The waitress was awesome I loved her super friendly and attentive. The food was a total disappointment, I don’t know how you can mess-up a shrimp cocktail. I love shrimp so this is heartbreaking, they need to change the recipe ASAP. They are in a great area just need better food. The drinks on the other head are delicious and perfectly strong.

This was a difficult review to write because I leaned toward the 3 side in taste but closer to 4 for service of a mistake. Overall, 3.6. This is a really small place and is both modern and eclectic which fits nicely in the Greenville area. Upon walking in, it looked just like a taco shop, maybe of the velvet tack variety. Modern, clean, industrial-like, but with the Spanish flair to it to accommodate the theme. Food: I had a fish taco and ordered the tuna and scallop island style ceviche combo to share with boy. The boy wanted a steak quesadilla which he said was really good. Taco was $ 4.50, quesadilla(basically taco size) was $ 3 and ceviche was $ 14. A little pricey, especially when I can go across the street for authentic and gigantic ceviche for $ 16.(Palapas which is actually incredibly fresh and delicious.) the taco was good and the ceviche was pretty decent. The error: the guy who took our order just couldn’t shake the idea that we were getting a combo with tuna and scallops or something. The system was screwing up and I repeated the order three times, correcting him twice when he said«shrimp and scallop combo ceviche.» That’s ok, I don’t mind repeating myself that often if you get it right. However, the ceviche came out to be shrimp. But when we gave it back, another female employee(possibly manager) quickly fixed this and let us have the original order in addition to the new one. Hooray! Long story long, everything turned out fine. We just aren’t shrimp ceviche people and didn’t want to pay money for shrimp when we specifically ordered tuna and scallops not once, but thrice times. Chips were given with the ceviche and they were good, but frankly, a bit oily. Other than that, I would come back and try more of the menu to give a better assessment of the place!

Came to this place for appetizers before heading over to HG Supply Walked into the place and took a look at the menu they have on their wall, probably had been there all of a couple minutes before someone came up and asked us what we were getting. I felt a little rushed, we let the server know we were gonna take a seat then order. Server comes over a few times, we order food on the second time. Then I’m deciding on a cocktail — this all happening in a span of within 5 – 7 mins of being in the restaurant. And on his third time over he makes a snide comment about how I can have another hour to decide on a cocktail… That rubbed me the wrong way. I get that it’s a joke but it would be funnier if I’d really been sitting there at least 20 mins trying to decide. Then it’s funny. But if I’ve just sat down and the seat isn’t even warm yet, it’s mostly rude. Anyway, outside of that, food was really good. Had the tuna and shrimp Baja style ceviche. No complaints here, it was a solid execution from the kitchen staff. If I went back, it would be solely for the food. That’s is what earns them three stars from me, service would only get them one star.

Located on Lowest Greenville, C’Viche is a Ceviche & Tequila Bar that offers ceviche, crudo, tacos, quesadillas, salads and snacks in a casual, hip setting. My husband and I were really excited about this place because we both have strong, abiding cravings for ceviche(having spent some time in Lima, Peru for work, as well as Los Cabos, Mexico, for our honeymoon.) Compared to some of the other reviews on here, I would have to say that our experience was not bad at all. SERVICE: We came on a weekday lunch, and the restaurant was not very busy. We were immediately enthusiastically and warmly welcomed and told the drill: order at the counter, go sit down, and everything will be brought out. I know some of the other reviews mentioned poor service. Maybe the restaurant management saw those reviews and improved! Either way, we found everyone to be attentive and nice, and also the food came very quickly. Then again, we went during a relatively slow time. SEATING: Indoor seating as well as cute outdoor picnic tables. The indoor seating is very spacious and has the modern, light-filled, modular vibe that seems to be very popular around here. FOOD: I love this menu; I think it’s genius. For ceviche, you can choose between fish, scallop, tuna, or shrimp. You also choose the style: Baja, Peruvian, Island, or Asian. Other menu items include shrimp aguachile, poke style tuna crudo, oyster cocktail, queso, avocado fries, various tacos and quesadillas. I opted for the fish ceviche, Peruvian style, and also got chips with salsa. My husband had the poke-style tuna crudo(he lived in Hawaii for a few years and is obsessed with poke), the brisket suadero taco, and the street corn. The food was okay. It was not bad. But be warned that the portion sizes are small and the fish was not too spectacular. I’ve had poke and ceviche made with very fresh, super high-quality fish, and this was not it. That being said, the presentation was lovely, and it was an enjoyable meal for me, mostly because I was eating ceviche with tortilla chips, which is always a great combination. My husband didn’t like his poke tuna as much; he felt that the portion did not justify the price tag(granted, $ 14 for very small portions can feel a little steep in the laid-back diner-casual restaurant). He also wasn’t blown away by the taco or street corn. Honestly, he would probably give this restaurant a slightly lower review than I am; but I’m the reviewer here, so my word is what counts! Ha. OVERALL: I mentioned before that I thought the menu was genius. I stand behind that; I just think that the food needs to be tweaked to live up to its potential. But the menu and the concept should not change. There are some wonderful things about C’viche, and some things it can improve on. As a very, very young restaurant in a hip part of town, it certainly has a promising opportunity to grow and overcome its 3-star average Unilocal rating.

C’viche is interesting, but surely wasn’t what I expected. I normally don’t come to a restaurant within the first few weeks of it being open, just because I want to my experience to be true. However, upon the suggestions of friends, I was here within the first week of its opening. We called ahead to notify them the size of our group and to see if we needed to reserve seating. We were told we didn’t need it, because there was plenty of room. The concept is fairly simple to sort out. Order at the counter, get a number and your order will be brought to your table. The menu options are pretty simple. Not many choices or things to get confused by. My experience was a bit different from the rest of my group. But I do feel that there is plenty of room for improvement and hopefully I will revisit to experience them. Our group was 8 people and we elected to sit outside at one of the patio tables. My food arrived promptly, however there were others that ordered at the same time or before me, who received their food 20 minutes after me. That sorta left us confused. Personally my beverage was bottled, but for those who ordered a cocktail, their drinks were delayed. It seemed that they were short staffed, because the same person who took our order was our bartender. In general service was slow for our group.(wish it was better) As far as the food goes. My order was tasty, but it seemed more as a appetizer. It was a bit pricey for what I received. It seems that the salads will be my best option for my next visit, but once again. the price point seems to be a bit more than neighboring places on the block. Parking on lower Greenville Ave is the same for everyone(challenging for the novice). There are parking lots behind and down the street. I suggest park and walk to all the places you want to visit in the area. Hopefully I’ll be able to revisit and update my review in the next few weeks.

The good — after I complained that my food hadn’t arrived 30 minutes from the time I’d ordered while everyone else in the restaurant who had arrived after and before me had been served(literally), they did EVENTUALLY offer me a drink on the house to make up for the delay. Unfortunately, what I really wanted was a refund of my meal price and to just leave. That’s what I requested and the dude at the register went and investigated if my food was made and then told me they were making it. When I asked for a refund and to cancel it again he again told me they were making it right now. Ugh. The bad — I didn’t even get what I ordered. I ordered a baja scallop salad with the vinaigrette on the side. I got a peruvian scallop salad with the dressing already mixed in. The food itself was fine. I didn’t get food poisoning from it, but it wasn’t worth the $ 16 + tax I paid for it. I’m happy to pay for good sashimi, but the seafood in their counter display was sad looking — both the whitefish and tuna looked dry and old. The unprocessed shrimp was a little weird looking too.

Such confusion. Such inadequate service. Such sads. What to do: go to the counter/register, order, pay, take number, sit, wait for what feels like an eternity, receive food/drinks. Drinks: They offer fountain drinks, beer, and cocktails. During our visit, they were not staffed to man the bar. Other than bottled/canned beer, the simplest drinks took forever. I can’t imagine getting up to order another. Food: After seeing and hearing ceviche portion sizes are small, I opted to add the salad for $ 2. It was a good idea. The scallop ceviche salad was actually tasty, but not worth the price tag($ 18). They were not served as ordered, either. It was too bad a friend and me could not enjoy our salads with our friends. We were completely forgotten about. Friends and randos who showed up after us were served way before we said anything. They did give the two of us a free drink, which was appreciated, but I don’t think that would encourage me to return. I also tasted my friend’s chicken tikka taco which looked like it would taste good. Sadly, it was quite bland. Seating: I feel like the seating isn’t very inviting indoors-cold and uncomfy. Picnic tables outdoors are your best bet when weather is nice. Such room for improvement.

No Thanks. HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRIBLE Service. We were so excited and planned this for a week. Ugh. It did just open, but basic manners and even a par level IQ would indicate communication needs. Like when we walk in and had someone not told us it was counter seating, okay no worries. But if we approach the counter and you are on your cell and the 11 of us are filtering in, along with ppl who are in another party and another party. Just a basic«Hi, Welcome, F Off» would allow us to know if you are really interested in business. 80⁄20 rule would be useful for this spot. Food quality, yikes to boot. Do not over sauce anything. Blah. Why is their cheese in my Guacamole? Blah. If someone orders a «vodka» do not whip out the bottle and say«this is the only one we carry with serious attitude» We did not design your bar program dear. The correct response would be «I am able to make(insert combo here)» Drinks, well I watched the epic fail on delivery to the table also, so I decided to scoot to the coffee shop down the street for a reboot of the day. My group is rather easy to please, light-hearted and all Unilocal Elite so we want businesses to thrive so we have places to rave about, local businesses. We love to walk places and group seat and talk about how cute we all are. But if we have to ask for our food and drinks 3 – 4 times it is just an expectation melt down. Cute place, but you cannot fall in love with potential.

C’viche is definitely in the just opened learning curve. A group of us went on Sunday, and I was the first to order drinks; a vodka/soda and vodka/oj. We didn’t get our drinks for a good 20 minutes. But the dude working the bar was also working the cash register and he got bombarded with people all at once. I wasn’t feeling the ceviche unfortunately, so I ordered the egg and chorizo quesadilla for $ 3.50. I think the price was good for the 2 small quesadillas. The thing was greasy as hell, but the flavors were good, as was the salsa they bring out with it. This place is adorable and has picnic tables outside on the patio. We had 10 people and I was told no reservation was needed since they had a lot of space. We were certainly squeezed in close. Thankfully I really like my friends. You order food and drink inside at the counter. Pay and get a number. I’m sure the process will flow better as they get in the swing of things. The things that I didn’t like were paying $ 7 for vodka/soda and $ 6 for a Tecate in a bottle. W.t.f. No rush to go back here at all.
