Great place, cheap drinks and bartenders who actually care about getting drinks out to you. And the music isn’t half-bad either. On a good night, the dance floor will be slammed. However, there’s an area in the back where you can still hang out and talk to people if you want. Whenever I’m in the area, I make it a point to stop in.

Fallout Lounge is an unpretentiously, chill, good time. Nestled in a block of old, historic buildings – the Fallout Lounge logo is easy to spot in the night and is indeed a much welcomed shelter. We enjoyed some awesome House Djs while we were there. The bartender was super cool and from the sound of other nights Fallout hosts, this is the place to get away from the mainstream and just have a good time. It’s called a lounge I guess because of the loungy looking couch in the dark corner. Fallout Dive would be more appropriate, but I guess that isn’t as catchy. Oh, of special note – the drinks are cheap. I’ll definitely be back!

Best place to hang out, drink, and listen to great obscure music. Great staff and fun events. Will be back again and again.

Fallout had stood the test of time when it comes to Exposition and I’m so glad that they’re still here. Fallout seriously hosts some of the best theme parties in Dallas. There’s plenty of sitting and standing room, plus you have room to dance. The staff there is really friendly, the drinks are good, the crowd is always cool, and there is even a chillout room if you want to get away a bit to have a quiet conversation.

Yes, it has DJs, people dance, you get drunk and eat too much at Pizza Lounge next door, but Fallout Lounge has also started an open mic and casual acoustic nights to level out the constant speaker bumping. Go any night you wish and watch hipsters, posers, a time machine warp and douchebags all in one venue. The drinks are cheap so it gets better as the night passes.

I felt transformed to the new wave eighties in a smoky venue with red flashing lights and a young broody arty eclectic crowd. They had a few guest DJs that kept it rythmic funky and mysterious. This might be as cool as Dallas gets.

Great crowd, can’t turn around without bumping into someone you know! DJ’s are pretty cool and will take requests if it’s something decent. Drink prices are average, and parking is decent if you park behind Amsterdam Bar. Only prob with this place is that its usually so crowded it takes forever to order drinks with only two bartenders working at a time. Otherwise, great hangout!

I love Fallout. The haters just can’t handle a dive. Fallout is about cheap drinks, good music, and enjoying a dark dirty place to get drunk/dance/hang out. If you aren’t interested in the above then by all means stay in Uptown. If you do, then show up on a Friday around midnight and you won’t regret it. Good times are had by all and the bartenders are awesome.

I really liked this fun little bar! Lots of hipsters running around(the tolerable kind), great music, artsty-atmosphere, and great people watching. In fact, me and my friend got caught red-handed people watching! Lol, but the nice young lady told me,“ok so I caught you staring at people now you owe us a dance” and herded us onto the dancefloor… fun times! Music here was nice… lots of house and electro beats. Everybody was happy and dancing. Only downfall: very bad amateur art on the walls was dissapointingly tacky. I really liked the vibe and music of this place so I will be back… Two Words: Urban Outfitters

I love Fallout! I love the fact that they have Dj Bad Holly on some Saturdays as well. You do get a mixture of people, but that makes for an interesting night!

There is this idea with robots called the uncanny valley. It describes how easily charmed we can be by a «cute» robot that looks nothing at all like a human, but how we get really really creeped out by things that look almost, but not quite human. Things that are just barely perceptibly off bother us more than things wildly different. That is how I feel about Fallout Lounge. Coming from Brooklyn/SF/Toronto, I was desperate to find a place in Dallas that had the same urban-indie(dare I say the dreaded H-word?) vibe that served me well for so many years of my life. This is something I find just absolutely lacking in Dallas. Someone recommended Fallout, and like a previous California reviewer described it, it «kinda, sorta, almost, but not really» meets that vibe. I went there about half a dozen times after not finding anyplace better, but ultimately, like the uncanny valley, the«almost, but not quite» aspect of it really got to me and just made me miss the plethora of options that overlapped with my preferences in every other city I’ve lived in. In the end, it just made me sad. Still, its much better than the polo-shirt, boat shoe, prep, douche-bag vibe that absolutely controls the rest of Dallas. So, if you’re a local, I highly recommend it, but if you’re a transplant like me(or a visitor), with a lot of reference points and comparisons in your head, you might leave a bit sad and disappointed. Basically, it reminds me of how I felt whenever I tried to get Mexican or Tex-Mex when I lived in Toronto. Yes, the food is made up of rice, beans, meet, cheese, and tortillas, but it just doesn’t quite hit the spot and sometimes it just makes you miss the things you love even more.

This place is just fun. It’s small, and has a small space for dancers, and you better believe that people dance. I went on Wednesday, and it was pretty packed, but it was also the DEVO after party, so that could have been why. Cameron was DJing as he often does at Fallout(on Friday’s I believe) and he plays groovin’ music. I will definitely be back to shake my booty.

This place is cool. Like the other Unilocalers I agree that the vibe is not preppy or whatever. Diverse crowd and decent service. Also, good music is played on the nights that I have been.

I find my self in Dallas a lot, and what else is there to do on the weekends but find a new bar and dance the night away? After Unilocaling, chatting, and planning a night out with friends we ended up at Fallout Lounge(thankfully). This is not your typical Dallas bar. No preppy polos tucked into Sevens finished off with a brown leather belt & loafers here. The crowd is well mixed and much more styling than other bars/pubs like Londoner, The Quarter or IdleRich. The drinks are small, but good & cheap(around $ 5 for a sapphire and tonic!). The DJ spins good remixes that you will know the words to and dancing is a must. Just get out of your seat or bar stool, find a spot and start grooving. I think what makes this place different is the crowd of almost grungy and a slightly edgy people just down to have some fun. Fallout Lounge is probably my fave Dallas bar to date.

Upon walking in i spotted an area of uncarpeted floor! You know! the type! typically in a nightclub or restaurant, reserved for dancing! but i saw no BODY dancing on it! Observations were made and it seemed the people were denoting a recording or type of music particularly popular as an accompaniment to their dancing RATHER a current dance-floor hit grooving happened. TOTHEM… not to me. Let me STATE: To say intoxicated or inebriated is a more formal and less offensive way of calling someone drunk, with intoxicated implying that the person is only slightly drunk, and inebriated implying drunkenness to the point of excitement or exhilaration. Intoxication is what began to happen to these people and maybe that is why they started grooving to the tunes of your mothers greatest hits album?-kidding– The inebriation made the men behave as though attracted to or trying to attract someone, but for amusement rather than with serious intentions and some of that came my way! How appalling! The DJs were SEXY, the music was a bit too 80s for me, the people were under stimulating and there was something disturbing about the lounge area in the back? I also spotted a guy from World War 1 escorting a Counter Culture(WHY) goth girl grabbing a box of wine and disappearing into a crevice of the brick wall where the LOUNGE is located(Very interesting part of the night.) Oh! The smoke! I am a spoiled Californian and my contacts glued themselves to my eyeballs! Horrid experience afterward playing Halo with the DJ! I could have killed more if my eyes were not blackened with toxicity! OK! I admit it! IT is far better than the bars, clubs, lounges or whatever in California! 4 stars! ok… You outta know: «I ought not to have tolerated her/his infidelities» — said a husband/wife later that night.

i love the fallout. fa real. the bartenders are(usually) nice, service is(usually) pretty quick regardless of how packed it is, drinks are made strong, and the music is generally good. although…i have to deduct a couple o’ stars. the last time i went by, the bartenders collectively and intentionally ignored me, my roommate, and my roommate’s boyfriend, which was both bizarre and uncalled for– especially considering that we’ve been semi-regulars for at least a year, we tip generously, and we never received anything but stellar service before this. we could only assume it was because my roommate’s bf fired the bartender’s roommate from urban outfitters some months ago. i don’t know about y’all, but having the bartenders at a bar i frequent on a regular basis get all passive-aggressive on me over some urban outfitters drama that i have nothing to do with ain’t cool. fallout bartenders– y’all are grown-ass adults. nevertheless, i’ll go back. i’ll go back again and again, because i love it. and i’ll expect to be served and treated with respect. we’ll see if i stay mad at fallout, or if they redeem themselves. if you like hip-hop and mashups, come by when fishr pryce is djing. he’s basically the shit.

Having to spend a saturday night in Dallas, I took my curiosity to Unilocal looking for answers. Does Dallas have urban hipsters? Is that even possible here? The answer is… sorta. Not exactly, but those at the Fallout lounge come pretty darn close. So I went out to Fallout Lounge, which is a small little space, reminiscent of a hipster dance dive in the Mission. The bartender, Chase, was a really great guy and shared drinks with me and another out-of-town transient. The DJ’s were OK, and the crowd was jumpin. I imagine that if I ever lived in Dallas, I’d find myself here often. Funny note — Chase asked«how’s you hear about this place? I said«Oh, I found it Unilocal». He said«what’s a Unilocal?». I said«Don’t worry about it…»

Every time I come to the Fallout Lounge, it’s bumpin’ and full. The music is usually either chilled but lively(weekdays) or dance chaos(weekends), and I like the variety. Sometimes there’s guests Dj’s, sometimes there are resident Dj’s and sometimes it’s The Party, which is all good. Fallout is located on a strip of nightlife on Exposition Park, where there are restaurants, bars, and clubs that cater to the young hipster looking for a place to suck down a Parliament with their Pabst. The vibe is usually laid back friendly with none of the usual pretentious Dallasite fake-boobs-and-overly-tan virus. The bartender is usually right on point with his drinks and the place isn’t so overwhelming or intimidating that you feel like you need to be on some stupid«list». Go!

This small bar is located in the Fair Park area and offers a good mixture of rotating DJs, strong drinks, and personable staff. You must be 21+ to get in. Fever happens on Fridays with DJs CJMacPhie and El Macho playing indie, 80s and electronica. This is my favorite night to go, because the DJs will let you request songs and actually play them. It can get quite crowded in there after midnight on Fridays. Saturdays are also very popular, and usually the DJs(sometimes out-of-town guests) create a stew of techno, hip-hop, electronica, and disco.
