I am writing concerning my recent visit to your location at 728NORTHPARKCENTER DALLAS, TX75225. I visited this location on Friday, January 29, at approximately 6:30PM. The store was not busy. There was maybe one person trying on clothes, and aside from this, I saw no other customers in the store. There were a few employees gathered at the cash-wrap, I spent at least five minutes looking at jeans, going through and looking at different sizes. I have bought my jeans at GAP for years, as the brand has been my number-one go-to for a pair of jeans. I had recently transitioned from the standard to standard taper fit, and had wanted some assistance with finding a comparable, fitted style. Let me just say I came fully prepared to purchase, and GAP was the first store in the mall I visited that night. Not one associate greeted me(aside from a woman coming back from her break who said hello as she passed from the entrance to the breakroom). No one offered to help me look or offered any type of assistance while I looked at the signs for the jeans, rummaged through looking for sizes, etc., Another customer did come in the store that one of the associates apparently was friends with, as the associate began talking to the man, ignoring me. It is at this point I decided to leave the store, as I should not have to walk up to a cash-wrap of 3 or 4 employees to ask for help. I called the store on Monday to speak with a manager regarding the issue. I believe her name was Denise. She seemed, at best, uncaring about my issue. She did say she was writing it down and would address it with the employees as it is not to the stores standards, but her tone of voice was cold. Overall she seemed, as I stated, uncaring. Unfortunately, this is how customers are lost. I enjoyed shopping at other stores in the mall and finding new places to buy my jeans, and I will have to debate whether or not I will visit the GAP again. It is highly unlikely I will return to the store at Northpark Center.

50% off everything Black Friday sale the day before Thanksgiving? Yes please!!! Some unpleasant reviews for this Gap but I didn’t encounter any issues. I purchased multiple men’s khaki pants which were on a ridiculous clearance sale($ 12.98 with tax SON!). Only three cashiers and lines got long at times but they moved quickly. I had no issues with the staff.

Big, clean location, but that’s about as far as the positives go with this Gap. If you’re OK with paying full price for everything you might not mind much. For a budget conscious person like myself I was able to walk in and out in less than a minute the couple of times I’ve stopped by this store. I guess the big wigs think that having sales would drive away the clientele here. Wait, who am I kidding? This is a Gap.

Decent Gap… the men’s section is much smaller than some of the other Gaps I’ve been too… much smaller. My wife gets a lot of great stuff there… I typically have to depend on my fave Gap location in Valley Ranch/Las Colinas…

Wow… just wow. Now having worked in retail, I’m usually pretty understanding of what an associate in a place like this has to go through. But…here…well…I’ve never been tempted to contact a retail’s district office to offer my suggestions on how to make customers a priority… until this store. While the clothes are typical mid range level clothes(chinos, shorts, shirts, etc) the staff is amazingly lacking in basic customer service skills. Visited on a Sunday afternoon and could NOT find a single sales person on the floor to help. Had to walk up to the counter, which had about 15 people in line waiting to pay, and only two people on a register. Finding an item as simple as a scarf took 10 min, while the sales girl went to the back… rummaged through something, then came out to say«we have no more… you want the display or what?» I decided to take the«or what» Fitting rooms were more like a «grab whatever room is open» with no one there to at least open a looked fitting room for you. Once I did stop and find a manager, she told me in her British accent…“well…it is Sunday and we are short staffed…(shrug)…“ Wow…just wow. Unless Banana Republic is on fire… I’m staying out of this place.

I returned to The Gap over the weekend to see if I could beat my refund out an employee, and I didn’t have to. They resolved my issue. Upon arriving at the check out counter, I first explained my problem to a customer service guy, Victor, who was very polite and professional. He called a manager over to deal with the problem though, as it was a pretty layered situation. The manager, Dan, was also very professional and polite. He had me explain what happened from the beginning so he could try to identify where the problem was. He saw right away that an employee totally mishandled the refund, and Dan refunded me the money I was due, no worries. I guess for every idiot employee The Gap has, they also have good ones, like Victor and Dan. While I don’t plan on returning to The Gap for more clothes that shrink in cold water after they hang dry on a laundry line in my bathroom, it’s reassuring to know their customer service agents aren’t in league with Satan.
