Went in around noon good to know they now have breakfast and lunch at this time. We went in at a good time everything was fresh and delicious. Our server Fernando was awesome and friendly always with a big smile. Love the roast beef with veggies plus the pancakes and scrambled eggs were so good.

I’m not a huge buffet fan but my kids Love Golden Corral so I’m forced to compromise. We’ve gone to two others in the Dallas area and I didn’t like the way those were kept(Dirty carpet, bad smell, filthy bathrooms, old food). Surprisingly this one was the best I’ve come across in awhile. The food was somewhat fresh(I mean, it is a buffet) and seasoned well. Also there weren’t a lot of people there at the time(could’ve been chance) and the employee service was great! I would definitely try them again.

Great place for kids. A bit expensive for a family of five for the quality, but the variety is great so there’s something for everyone. It’s not going to be the best food you’ve ever eaten but the dessert bar makes it all right! Can you say chocolate fountain!!!

I went to this location for breakfast on Saturday with my family. I loved grits but these were simply floating in water not really cooked. The bacon limp and barely cooked and was laying in over an inch of it’s own grease. I asked for some that was cooked crisp and someone did accommodate me. However after I got what I wanted of the crisp bacon, he put it in with the bacon that was floating in grease. Not smart. Come on Golden Corral. We like our bacon crisp and our grits cooked thoroughly and creamy here in Texas. I saw others walk up and use the spoon to check the grits and then walk away without them. The biscuits were beautiful but not really edible because they were hard and dry. Never mind what they teach you from your North Carolina office. When in Rome(Texas) do as the Romans(Texans) do. Cook the food thoroughly for us Texans. The food costs must be exorbitant here because I’m sure they throw away a lot of food since they don’t cook it the way Texans like it. I only went this one time because I didn’t feel like driving further. However, I regularly patronize the location on Eastgate Dr. which is almost $ 3 cheaper and the location on Hwy 121 in the Colony which is also cheaper. Their food is much, much better and they have a much wider variety for all meals. I notice it’s not crowded anymore. There used to be lines everyday. I wonder why? This is the only buffet anywhere near here that serves breakfast yet the place was nearly empty from 9:30 am — 12:00 pm. Cater to your customers, not corporate! Customers have too many options to throw their money away on food they can’t eat.

Breakfast buffet added to the lunch menu yeah ok more like 3 items to choose from. The whole experience was just eh all the items on the buffet where either empty or scraps at the bottom of the containers, no fresh product was brought out the entire hour we where there and the food we did eat was cold. So disappointed especially with the options to choose from and for the price forget about it

honestly. i’m kinda shocked? I really dislike buffets, because i know its just plain disgusting to me… but wow. The food here was pretty good… shockingly. I never liked golden corral, but I went with my aunt since she wanted variety of food. I tried out the~ macaroni and cheese mashed potatoes broccoli with cheese. the sweet something fish.(totally forgot the name) Medium Rare steak. The steak was super good! It was cooked the right amount, and it was tasty! The servers were kind and attentive, and the chef was sweet. Desserts…wasnt as good as the actual food. its no big deal to me, since i was already full. I hope the food is like this again, because my aunt loves this place… and its a risk i’m willing to take.

Absolute WORST buffet. We didn’t even have a waitress! The food was not appetizing nor did it have any flavor or moisture. I wouldn’t eat here again even if it were the last place on earth. On top of the dreadful food and nonagsistant service. a manager raised his voice with me when I went around the corner of the salad bar. The reason why I did that was to avoid reaching over the salad dressings. He had no reason the raise his voice.

You know, it’s been years since I’ve been to one of these restaurants. Last time I went, things were just disgusting. Dirty«clean» plates, loud children running around touching food, food quality wasn’t great. But today I decided to give it a shot again, hoping things had changed. While this restaurant was a little bit more redesigned to look cleaner, everything else about the place had not changed a bit. The food is still disgusting and it appears like the employees there have made peace with it. After I grabbed a big plate of food a child nearby decided to sneeze all over one section of the bar, and since I was nearby it was safe to assume that my food had been contaminated, as well. I sit back down with this sneezy plate and just stare at it for a few minutes before the waitress walks up to me: Waitress: are you finished? Me: yes. Some kid sneezed on my plate and on that whole food bar over there. W: *proceeds to laugh* have you ever been here before? Then she proceeded to give me this sly look, which I believe can be translated into saying«you do know that everybody sneezes on the food here». I stayed there for maybe 5 – 10 more minutes since I was with company, and the originally sneezed on area of food had not been changed out. To top it off, the waitress had come to me to deliver a drink refill, which was being caressed by a dirty rag full of dirt and sauce, probably from wiping every table in the establishment without cleaning it out. So that was it. I paid $ 16 to stare at a plate of uneaten food that could be home to an entirely new type of virus. Thanks, Golden Corral, for keeping me on the edge.

Selection was pretty lame more so than I remember from my last visit to any GC in almost 7 years. I was surprised to see no seafood options. Chicken was salty but moist and very hot. The fried chicken tray remained empty for almost an hour at 1:30 pm on a weekday. I had to ask if they were ever planning to make more. Really good rolls. I had no dessert, I literally forgot about them. All the waitstaff seemed EXTREMELY lazy as they talked amongst themselves and were lax about making the mini cheeseburgers even though people were waiting at the station for them as they chatted. None existent service – my waitress literally never came back and I had to get up to refill my own water three times. Ironically during one of these times she threw my food out. Found 3 dirty plates(as in visibly dirty with gravy stuck on) during this one visit. Otherwise it was exactly what I expected. They lowered their prices so I felt like $ 7.99 was fair. Although I will probably not return for another 7 years.

Haven’t been there in awhile since I wasn’t pleased with the selection, flavor or service the last time I was in. I will say I left today very full and satisfied. I usually get the same choices since I am a creature of habit. Pot Roast, Baked chicken, Fried chicken. Sides u sally mashed potato with gravy, mac and cheese, corn etc. Everything was fresh and tasteful. I spoke with the manager who informed me that they were doing a major remodel and will be tweeking the menu. I will return much sooner if they continue the good work.

Not the best. A lot of the food had too much salt. I couldnt eat much here… Buffet style setting. Self-serve. Not such a great experience for my first time. I would give it another chance at a different location though.

Long story short, my steak was over cooked, my fried chicken was bloody, and everything looked like it’s been sitting there since WWII. All I ate was salad and ice cream. Nasty experience. Sorry.

What kind of business allows their employees to DRINK while working at the kitchen. I eye witnessed an employee drinking a beer in the kitchen! Hopefully the manager reads this and fire his ass. The food was okay, no wide selection.

I hate buffetts! I hate that parents allow their small children to double dip and stick fingers in food! But on a positive note, The Golden Corrals food is actually pretty good! Gotta love a chocolate fountain but just watch for small kids playing in the food! Total turn off! I recommend anytime of the day but dinner time. Oh and never go on a Saturday!!!

Always too much food, but they had the BEST fried catfish and mac n’ cheese ever to me. Take advantage of the senior specials w/drink on Mondays and Tuesday if you are able.

My parents love to go here… we go everytime they are in town. I guess it does the job. My favorite part is the cotton candy! I leave the place feeling like I just left the fair, bloated and double fisting cotton candy. One for the car and for later while you are regretting how much you ate there.

Overall it was ok. The advertised tropical fish was not all that good, the tropical steak was M.I.A. along with the chicken. The ice cream machine squirted out the chocolate as a liquid. Everything else was decent. Chocolate fountain was good, who doesn’t like a fountain of chocolate? My kids loved the cotton candy machine. Been to other GC and this one was below par. Could have been an off day but from reading the other reviews it doesn’t appear to of been.

I first must clarify that except for an occasional Chinese craving at New New, I rarely frequent buffets, but you know, Golden Corral is not bad. Not great, but not bad. In fact some choices are pretty decent, while others are avoidable. NOTE — don’t go expecting«cuisine»…just some home style cooking on a mass scale. After a visit or two, you’ll discern what is good, what is not, and what pleases your palate. This rainy day was one of those days where I was hungry for various foods. That is one of the good things about GC, you can mix & match and get a taste of it all. I typically serve myself tiny portions of a variety of dishes so as to fulfil my need for a little bit of my favorite things. Today had the BLT salad, which is GC version of a wedge salad. Bleu Cheese dressing was pretty darn good; lettuce fresh and crisp with ample sprinkling of bacon bits and all the tomatoes you wanted. My selected entrees were catfish, salmon and liver & onions, again small portions of each.(Quite a combo, huh? Yep, in the mood for variety !!) Scratch the Salmon; overcooked and dry; push that aside to ignore. Catfish — a WINNER — plump, crispy cornmeal breading(but not at all greasy) and tender, moist and flaky inside. Even the tartar sauce was acceptable. Liver & Onions — two thumbs down; tough, chewy, and cold.(I’ve had this before and enjoyed it, so today must have been the head cook’s day off) Stuffed my face with more Catfish. The steamed cabbage was also tasty; seasoned well and cooked to the right tenderness. Also had a few of the seasoned fries; I am always surprised how much I enjoy these; fried crispy on the outside, soft on the inside with a tinge of spiciness. Some days GC has home fries, sauteed with onions and peppers, and I call those delish. For those in a grazing mood, the salad bar is pretty extensive with several types of greens, tomatoes, etc. your usual toppings, pastas, cold shrimp, imitation crab(I’m sure it’s imitation), fruit, cheeses, sauces, dressings. Everything I’ve sampled here in past visits has been fresh and cold. There are several other standard fare choices that I have had before and enjoyed: Rotisserie Chicken, BBQ Chicken, fried Chicken, Tilapia, green beans, mashed potatoes, pinto beans, taco fixings, baked potatoes, etc. Many, many more selections are available such as hamburgers, hot dogs, pastas, meat loaf, but won’t take the space up to list them all. Some items are regular attendees to the daily buffet, but there are different options on different days of the week. OMG, I mustn’t forget their hot, huge Yeast Rolls. Tender and buttery. The servers who attend to your drink refills and extra plates to go back for seconds will also bring you these tasty delights. Yes Sirree, for all you folks needing a sugar boost, there is a dessert bar, with cobblers, puddings, pies, cakes, cookies, and I think even the makings for a sundae. Never tried these so can’t speak as to their quality. This area was the fave of my Mom-In-Law. She lived by the strong belief«always start with dessert», and she really did !!! For $ 7.99 at lunch, this is a pretty good option and certainly a good value, considering the quantity and variety of the food, particularly for those who go back for seconds(or thirds). It will satisfy any lumberjack’s robust appetite. I believe dinner is about a buck more, and slightly higher on the weekends. They also serve breakfast on Sat & Sun.
