I decided to give this place a chance because it’s close to where I live. A half hour into eating, I found a hair in my food and now I’m feeling sick. I don’t recommend this spot…

I had the whitemeat Sesame chicken and thought it was delicious! Nice skin on the chicken, great sauce. Fried rice was ok. My eggroll didnt taste fresh, for some reason.

If I could give no stars I would! We have ordered delivery from this place 2 times before and it was good. It’s been a while since we had so I tried to go «safe» and get sweet and sour shrimp and chicken. WOW! Never knew u could screw that up! The chicken is thigh meat apparently with lots of fat and gristle. Completely inedible! The sweet and sour sauce was so disgusting I couldn’t even eat a little bit and the shrimp I know had to be somewhere in the batter. All of it was over fried and very greasy! I am so disappointed and will never order from here again!

Great food! It was fresh and exactly what I wanted. Great service too! The fried rice was on point along with the best vegetable low mein I’ve eaten!!!

By far the worst food I have had in my entire life! When you walk through the doors, a horrible stench hits you in the face. My husband ordered the shrimp fried rice. .and it was just ok. I ordered the chow mein, and I know alpo dog food would taste better! I believe chow mein is suppose to a crispier noodle and these noodles were submerged in a GREY gravy. WTF??! I’m giving this place 2 stars instead of 1 because the service was pretty good. Our waitress was nice and attentive, but she didn’t seem to care that I only took 1 bite out of my food. I live by Andrew Zimmern’s saying«Always try something twice,» but I don’t think I have the stomach to take this!

Worst Chinese takeout food I’ve ever had in my life. The sesame chicken and orange chicken sauce both taste identical. They deep-fried a whole chicken breast and sliced it into slices and poured sauce on it. Chicken had an odd taste and texture, egg rolls smelled rotten and were inedible. Everything top to bottom was horrible. I can’t say it enough, don’t waste your hard earned money here to spin the wheel on getting food poisoning! Awful, just awful.

So, we went to go get my favorite restaurant«schewzwan pavilion» right up the street to only discover a vacant building. With the craving of chinese food, we relied on Google to find something near by & that led us here to «hong kong restaurant.» We ordered off the lunch special, and I got the kung pao chicken, and we also got the shredded beef. Both, were pleasantly good. However, they only gave us one scoop of rice, and I am used to two scoops at any restaurant I’ve ever been to… The food was extremely hot and fresh, and they offered a sweet tea while we waited for it to-go. The egg roll was big, and filling, and I actually liked it a lot! They have several of menu options, at an average price for chinese food. I will definitely go back & try other dishes as well.

I just had the most disgusting egg rolls from this place. I don’t know if they gave me the wrong kind or what. They tasted like they had celery in them. I don’t know if that’s normal or not. I had to dump out the filling and just eat the shells. Also, my duck sauce was congealed. Kind of unappetizing. My wonton soup was good, although it’s kind of hard to mess that up. Last thing, if you go in for a to go order, keep in mind the menu on the counter is not current. They charged me more for the soup than it showed on the menu. I pointed it out and the guy just repeated my total. I don’t think I will go back.

It’s clean and it’s quiet. The menu reads like any other non-descript Chinese take-out, service is slow — we waited over 20 minutes to be served and another 20 minutes to get our food, granted it’s a Friday night and there are about 20 to 30 diners. Quality of the food is disappointing. The beef dish was very salty, pork in another dish was not fresh, and both look dull and are a little too soupy. People working there are very nice though. I feel sorry to be unkind but I really cannot recommend this restaurant.

First time here, ordered food to go. crab Rangoon fantastic. first time I’ve ever eaten crab Rangoon without it being too hard to crunchy this was perfectly crunchy and filled with a fantastic filling. will get this again and again. Interior needs some fixing/updating. Seemed clean. Clean is important.

My husband was feeling generous(to put it nicely) after we visited the LAkewood brewery tour on Saturday and decided that he wanted to treat me to Chinese food for lunch. So, taking a friend’s suggestion we decided to try out Hong Kong Restaurant. It was clean and minimal inside with each table covered with a pink table cloth. There was a sign by the door offering free soft serve ice cream for dine in customers which was pretty neat. Pros: — the wonton soup is excellent! It had a nice oniony broth and was served on the side with some fried wontons as well. — their iced tea was nice and fresh. — the beef and broccoli was decent Cons: — the sauces for the orange chicken and sesame chicken tasted nearly identical, slightly soggy and wasn’t very tasty The hot and sour soup was just okay. It had an odd sweet flavor that kind of threw it off but some soy sauce helped it a little bit. Overall, it was just an okay experience that maybe needs a second chance at a later date

Interesting local place. Apparently it has been here for years but has had many owners. A lot of locals eat here. Lunch portions are large and come with soup and an egg roll and ice cream if you want it. I had the beef and broccoli, hot and sour soup. It was good :-) Note…there is MSG

I have two words for you… food poisoning. That’s right, made me sick as hell by about 3am well into the next day. I’m on the 2nd day post and my stomach is still shaky, ridiculous. I ordered the egg roll and I’d swear it was made the week before, disgusting. The wonton soup was so tasteless, greasy and the noodles were mushy beyond belief. I think they made it the day before and left it on the stove. Finally the orange chicken… um, wasn’t like any crispy orange chicken I had ever had… which should have been a clue. Three chicken breasts cooked whole came with ice cold broccoli on the place a side of over cooked ride and burnt orange peals on top. The décor is hideous and I think their primary customer if from the retirement home behind it. Their taste buds are already gone… I will never go back to a place that made me so sick. thanks for nothing!

I ordered the general chicken and sweet and sour pork. Unfortunately both dishes were covered in extremely sweet sauces. The chicken was supposed to be a bit spicy, but it was candy-sweet. I didn’t eat much even after adding salt and chili flakes. However the entrees came with a side order of white rice which was hot and fresh. Service was fast for take-out on a Saturday nite. Also, I was charged an extra dollar for white meat chicken(they didn’t mention it, I just saw the charge on my bill). I’ll give them another chance in the future since they’re convenient, but I will try other dishes from the menu. And ask them to hold the sugar!

This place… its either hit or miss. Most of the time… its a hit. Love the sweet and sour soup and beef and broccoli. Its not AMAZING food… its not something you’re going to dream about for days… but its good food and will satisfy when you have that Chinese food craving. The décor is circa 1996, and the staff is friendly. Free ice cream available but no toppings are provided. The dining room music seems to be 5 to 10MIDI songs playing over and over. I would love to give this place more stars… but its at best slightly above average. If you’re in the area and need a cheap Chinese food fix… give this place a chance!

i have been here once and really i didnt think there was anything special about this place… i had the chicken stir fry with veggies which in my opinion for the taste was not the bang for the buck… the atmosphere of the place was also very boring with low sounding chinese music and the décor was also kinda boring… the service was fine though. which is about the only positive thing i can say about this place… well wait they do give you complinentary ice cream which was nice, but is nothing i will go running for again

Yes, you must go just for the egg rolls. Big, huge, hand rolled and totally unlike any others I’ve ever had. Everything else is average at best. I make lunch out of soup and an awesome eggroll.

This is a non-descript place that serves perfectly acceptable(average) Chinese. There is nothing terrible about it, and there is nothing outstanding about it. Everything falls right into the middle of ok without a wow factor. The hot and sour soup was ok. My chicken dish(forgot what is was) was fine. The prices are reasonable, the service competent. In general this is a place that you don’t have to avoid but there are few reasons to make it a destination.
