We wanted to try something new with our family last night. The manager(or owner) greeted us right away. The place was pretty busy for an early Sunday dinner, but we were seated right away. The atmosphere is casual and fun with lots of families seated outside on the patio. A bunch of people had the seafood spread across the table to eat. We ordered the meal that included snow crab, shrimp, potatoes, corn and sausage with the ragin sauce. We put on our aprons and gloves and got to work. It is super messy and we had a great time! We ordered a second batch of crab legs with just a butter sauce like we are used to. We enjoyed both sauces and are glad we tried them. Next time I would order more crab and probably not the shrimp. The manager and server came back several times to make sure everything was great.

After two visits I’m leaving a review. The food is a welcomed addition to Greenville, providing options if Dodie’s isn’t your slice of pie that night. The first time I dined at Ragin Crab I came with a girlfriend and we ordered 2 pounds of crawfish, 2 pounds of snow crab, and oysters. Food was delicious, crawfish were a good size and oysters were huge. It is odd that corn-on-the-cob and potatoes do not come with the crawfish as it normally would, but it wasn’t a deal breaker. I was charged twice and had to confirm with the waiter that my amount was correct and I’m still waiting on the bank to confirm my refund. Even then, it was a good experience that caused me to want to dine again. Which leads me to my four star review in stead of five. My second visit was less than stellar COMPLETELY because of service. My husband and I visited and we were really excited about crawfish. Unfortunately to our dismay, we were told the were out. Understandable, due to popularity, however, that’s what we were craving for the evening so we debated leaving. Our waiter LOUDLY exclaimed how gross they were and why wouldn’t we try the shrimp it’s SOMUCHBETTER?! Then we we both said we were just having water and not drinking he sighed loudly and was clearly frustrated. Everything went kind of downhill from there… he was loud, obnoxious and chased after us yelling SERIOUSLY?! after we left a $ 6 tip on a $ 30 meal(that’s 20% so we thought it was generous considering the bad experience). The GM came over to our table, lovely british gentlemen and spoke to us in a professional, calm tone and shared how wonderful the shrimp was and that we should try it, which we did. Again, overall the food is great but the service needs some attention. It took an otherwise good experience to something that makes me debate going to Dodie’s for Crawfish.

Worst place ever!!! I’m not that picky eater but… the worst seafood ever I had in my life. King crab suck, Dungeness Crab frozen, all tasted salty. Crawfish overcooked… Everything just boiled and dumb with season outside… Nothing special. Plus slow service. THUMBDOWN!!!

My Girlfriend and I stopped by the Ragin Crab on a monday night around 7 or so no wait and the service was prompt. We ordered 2 waters as we went over the menu to see what route we wanted to go. Our waiter Steven was great helping me to decide on which spice level to go with and even brought out testers of the sauces upon my request to help with the final decision. We went with 2 lbs of crawfish, 2 lbs of shrimp, and 1lb of snow crab legs tossed in ragin cajun with a #3 level spice and a side of turbo hot to dip. Steven brought us out our bibs and gloves in preparation for the food that was on its way. when the food arrived we were given the option of whether we wanted the food on the blue serving tray or tossed out on to the table. we opted to have it tossed out on the table so we could see this seafood feast in all of its spicy glory. The crawfish we received were about average size for this time of the season. The shrimp on the otherhand were huge, these arent the small/medium size shrimp youre used to getting at some other seafood places. The crablegs were a great size too and paired well with the spicy seasoning. Time to get into the spice/seasoning as this can make or break a seafood restaurant(queue the runny nose, extra glasses of water, and napkins). The turbo hot is not for the faint of heart I love spicy food and this was as spicy as I would like to go *hints as to why we opted for a side to dip as opposed to having it all tossed in this delicious sauce*. The extra hot was about what youd expect for an extra hot seasoning but still delicious none the less. Id say this trip to the Ragin Crab was a great experience and we will be coming back!

This place has a lot of potential but really needs to work on some service issues. We really enjoyed the crab legs, shrimp and crawfish(in the very hot Cajun sauce). The seafood tasted fresh and made the experience worthwhile. The service on the other hand, left much to be desired. First, we were waiting for over 25 minutes at our table before our waiter came over to bring us menus. The whole rest of the meal was us continuously asking for missing items and drinks(had to remind them three times to bring us water). The fries and sausage we ordered came out over 30 minutes after the rest of our food. The restaurant wasn’t very busy either which made the experience more frustrating. The sausage was also pretty undercooked(really the only negative of the food). Hoping the service improves so I can go back and give this place another shot.

So our friends made a reservation request at Rapscallion but didn’t want to wait an hour to eat so we wanted to walk around and check out other options. Surprisingly, we found this gem of a seafood restaurant. Upon arriving, we were greeted with the ubiquitous smell of fresh seafood and a cheerful Host. He sat us in the patio which was a little chilly for my taste but we made due. Our server was attentive, went over the concept and deliver us our wine. My friends and I order the Family Meal, which had sausages, crab legs & potatoes. We also ordered calamari and friend Oysters. Everything was declious! Thank you for a great evening to the staff who was not only friendly but quick in satisfying our appetites, and oh did I mention the large pours on the wine? incredible!!!

Nope. Save your money. The crawfish and shrimp seemed to be boiled in plain water and then covered in sauce as opposed to actually slow simmered in heavily seasoned broth… disgusting. I paid for a pound and had them trash ¾ of it. The hushpuppies were super salty. Waitress seemed kinda confused(perhaps she was new?) 2 stars only because my son’s catfish was edible.

Came here during their grand opening when everything was 50% off. Me and a friend ordered the #4 and tore it up. The food was amazing and so was the atmosphere. The location is rather small so it was packed, but we had a great time. Food was a little pricey though so I’m glad we had the discount. The only issue we had was when the waitress double charged my card and took forever to get it fixed.

This place was awesome! My wife and I stopped in last Sunday and got the family special. Seafood was outstanding. We couldn’t finish it all! Waitress was great and so was everyone else that worked that day. Karaōke band was good too. Fun time was had by all.

I’m going to preface my review by letting you know that I grew up in south Louisiana and also lived in coastal Georgia, so I may be a bit pickier than others when it comes to boiled seafood. You can also see why I’ve been anxious to give this Cajun seafood place in my hood a try, as I just happen to walk past it everyday. Today was the day… so here goes the review… My friend and I arrived right as they opened at 11:00. Since it was ½ price off the entire menu, we fully expected a line. There was no wait. We ordered fried oysters as a starter along with coleslaw. The oysters were very small and did not taste like oysters, mainly breading, and the remoulade sauce appeared(and tasted) like tartar sauce with a little ketchup on top. I wasn’t able to eat them. The coleslaw was served in a huge bowl and mayonnaise based. No real complaints on the coleslaw. The next dish that came out was my friend’s gumbo. Not a traditional gumbo but more the consistency and flavor of a tomato soup; and no rice(which is actually fine by me). Next up — 2 lbs of boiled shrimp and 2 lbs of boiled crawfish. We ordered them both with ragin’ bang seasoning and extra hot. I was super excited when I saw the size of both the shrimp and crawfish! Biggest crawfish I’ve seen this early in the season. Unfortunately, the flavor of both were flat. I’ve never had a steamed unseasoned crawfish, but this is what I imagine it would taste like. Not to sound vulgar(but very Louisianan) — sucking the heads was not even an option. There were no flavorful juices to be sucked out, just watery water flavored liquid.(Insert sad Cajun face). To be 100% fair, we were some of the first customers of the day, and everybody(ok, not everybody) knows the first batch of crawfish is not the best. The shrimp were just as flavorless, but I have in fact had steamed unseasoned shrimp before, so I dipped those babies in some cocktail(with extra horseradish) — and dealt with it. However, «dealing with it» is not how you want to feel about a $ 40 lunch(without booze, I might add). Knowing the place had just opened, I felt it was important to give the manager my honest feedback, and trust me– I did. Steve was very pleasant and even replaced my oysters with new ones. It seems they cut their oysters in half before they fry them(huh?), so he had them fry up a few whole ones. What a difference that was! Those 4 were delicious. Steve, please don’t cut oysters in half, all the juice and flavor escapes as soon as an oyster is even slightly punctured! People will have no problem paying the same amount or more for just a few delicious whole oysters versus a big basket full of flavorless half oysters. Honestly, it pains me to write a bad review. I truly hate it. But this meal was so disappointing. I sincerely hope the owners will work the kinks out. There are too many Louisianans in Dallas to try to pull off subpar food and call it «ca c’est bon!» Even if you’re not a Louisanan, there are too many other good choices in Dallas for boiled seafood and Cajun flavors. They’ve got to step it up to compete, and I hope they will. I intend to give it another try in a few months and hopefully update this review with a few more stars. PS Service was good and all employees were very attentive!

This place is new and was not prepared for the MLK weekend crowd. We ordered appetizers only to find out 90 minutes later after asking about the wait there are no coconut shrimp, no gumbo, no oysters, no clam. The waitress was asked to take our order, she walked off to take care of another table, and never came back. The Karaōke band kept us entertained. The attorney took our order, then never returned to follow-up. Hopefully, when I come back they would be better prepared. Two waiters working a room of at least 50 people. People waited unacceptable periods for tickets. Ok, so i got King Crab legs. The seasons were bland, cooked with no salt. Omg, the cooks were not close to Cajun experience. Dodi’s is the best in Dallas. Spundivitz is the best in Atlanta.

Ok, I don’t want to be the negative review guy here but the seasoning at this place is bland and has no flavor. I had a lb of shrimp with the Ragin Bang seasoning. I couldn’t even finish it. The fried oysters here are small and served to you«cut in half.» I don’t know about you but when I order fried oysters I like full ones. In all fairness the owner is a nice guy, he listened to my feedback and sent out an order of full fried oysters to our table on the house after we told him how small our fried oysters were. The slaw here is average, the crab cakes are average and the gumbo was below average and this is being nice!!! Also, please don’t put that FAKELOOKING, LEAFYGARNISH thing on the same plate as your crab cakes. It makes your crab cakes look CHEAP. I would also use a basket instead of a white plate. I have yet to find a place that can beat the WHOLESHABANG seasoning at THEBOILINGCRAB, in my opinion it’s the best in town!

Had a pound of the original Louisiana crab legs, a pound of the garlic butter crab legs, and a pound of hot crawfish and everything was amazing. We had wonderful service from our server, Barbie, who showed me where to use the hand washing machine which comes in handy. Will be coming back here

My wife and I dropped in here Sunday afternoon and ordered the #3 — a pound each of shrimp and crab legs — with the second highest spice level and«mix» of sauces(can’t remember what it was called). Added in a side of potatoes and coleslaw. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal! They don’t kid around with the spice levels. If you like your cajun food hot, this place gets it right. The shrimp were huge! The crab meat was sweet. The mayo-based coleslaw had — I want to say a pineapple accent to it. Quite tasty. Highly recommend the bibs and gloves if doing one of the boiled seafood dinners! Good thing they had those as I was wearing a light-colored shirt. I would’ve made a huge mess on it.

Service was great and fast. I had the crawfish, which were big and I had the ragin bang sauce which is similar to «the whole shabang» sauce at the boiling crab. The sauce was very flavorful and delicious. My husband had the catfish and the gumbo, and both of those who ere good as well. Definitely recommend visiting this place, they have a full bar and the menu has something for everyone. We’ll definitely be back.

I live near the area and have been anticipating the opening of this restaurant. I noticed they were open and went there the other day and it did not disappoint. It has a laid back casual atmosphere with numerous tv’s, a bar, a very friendly staff, who were knowledgeable about the menu, and great prices. We took the server’s recommendation and ordered the family special, which included king crab, snow crab, shrimp, corn, & potatoes with the Ragin’ Bang sauce. The sauce was the right combination of garlic, spices, heat, and was not as greasy & salty as the other restaurants that specialize in this type of sauce. I believe they also offer the standard dry rub like their competitors around the area, but the Ragin’ Bang sauce is a must! The food was cooked in a timely manner and perfectly cooked. The seafood was fresh and came with bib, gloves, &3 different utensils to crack into the shell and keep clean. The crawfish was enormous for this time of the year and very juicy & tender, just like both of the crabs. The fries were extra crispy and just the way I like it. All in all, I’m excited to have this down the street from me, without me having to drive to the other side of town now. Can’t wait to come back and try the other food on their menu. Thanks Ragin’ Crab, you made me a returning customer!

Love this place, largest crawfish I’ve seen in a long while and everything was so fresh with amazing flavor. You much check it out. Barbie was our waitress and she was on top of it. Steven was very friendly and spent time talking to us their process on making their fresh seafood.

So glad my relatives and I decided to check out this new restaurant. We ordered the Family Special with the Ragin’ Bang sauce. It was quite a lot of food for a decent price, and I was impressed by how quickly our food came out. The shrimp and crab legs were so juicy and tender, and the sauce had just enough flavor.(I really liked that the sauce wasn’t salty like that of other similar restaurants.) The servers were nice and friendly, and I enjoyed the casual atmosphere. I can’t wait to come back and try some other dishes and to check out the bar! Overall, two thumbs up!

Service was fast and helpful. Fried catfish was tasty, though the breading was crunchier than I prefer(just a preference, was still well done). Prices were great — $ 8.99/lb for mudbugs, crab for $ 16.99/lb. Despite Jami W’s recommendation, I found the«Raging Bang» sauce to be boring and way too creamy. I don’t order mudbugs(that’s crawfish for you Yankees) and expect them to have a «sauce» on them. I expect a traditional crawfish boil that I can suck out of the body and makes my hands burn. Also, please tell your waitstaff that your«hot»(a two on your scale of one to four) is not only not hot, it’s milder than mild. Where’s the kick? Not present. You steamed the crab well although I didn’t dig the sauce(got the same«Rangin Bang» on both), and it was fresh and tasty, but the mudbugs were a tad underdone. It was close enough that I didn’t say anything, but your cooks need to know that they need another two-ish minutes in the boil before pulling them out. In all, I’ll head to somewhere with more traditional preparations in the future. Also, I don’t need clear plastic gloves or apron. I’m not five — I can keep it off my shirt without your help. It’s great that you have them and all, but the default should be «Would you like a bib or gloves?» Not«If you don’t mind, I’m going to put this on you.» In other words, could do worse, and maybe the other«sauces» are better. Also worth noting that this place has only been open three days, so maybe they’ll sort this out.
