Used to be a fan of this place but since the last time I was here they raised their beer prices to ridiculous levels. Good selection, but $ 7.50 and $ 8.50 for standard Texas beers is absurd.

The Foundry is truly a creative place. The stage is built out of wood skid pallets and is really cool. Killer food and drinks and the court yard is a one of a kind, it’s tented in the cold winter and in the summer shaded by a big elm. Best live music venue in Dallas.

This place has an awesome outdoor environment and the chicken is amazeballs. The atmosphere reminds me of Austin. The also have live bands. Really like this place and its a regular spot for me and Mom when I come to visit. Not to mention they have pretty good beer and wine!

BESTDAMNFRIEDCHICKEN I HAVEEVERHAD! If you come don’t waste your time with any other food get the chicken! Ok now to get serious… The foundry is the 21 and up section next to scratch… My boyfriend came in on a rainy Friday night so the place was pretty empty. This is probably one of the coolest restaurants I’ve ever been to. The vibe is very industrial. Most of the place is outside seating. With a few shipping crates people can sit in. We opted to sit at a picnic table. Our waitress Britney was awesome! We started off with a few beers… Can’t remember what they were. My bad. Joseph and I shared the 3 he’s fried chicken plate. It was plenty for us to share. We also got the green chili mac & cheese I freaking LOVEIT! And then a side of the greens, they were very smokey and salty! BUT it’s all about that Fried chicken! It was soooo good! Last night I told Joseph I was craving it. We also ordered some shots and they were $ 6… Not bad for Dallas on a Friday night. I think we each had 3 – 4 beers and a shot along with dinner we spent $ 55BF tip… Not bad at all for date night! We will be back with friends soon!!!

This review is about the service. The food was good but the service was horrendous. We asked about the football game. let me get my manager… ok, we’re not staying if we can’t turn the game on… what channel? Our drinks were served immedialy-good sign! We had asked for menus and 20 min later the bartender that was watching videos on her phone came and asked us if we wanted to order. Food came quickly, but no utensils –Bartender again busy with videos at the end of the bar I got up to ask for them. Drinks empty — and only because she had to come dow for a service bar order did she finally notice our glasses were empty… yall need anything? Yes, we’re in a bar, just got our food and have empty glasses. Almost had to bus our own dirty plates. Oh and the angry looking bar service guy with glasses on… they couldn’t have cared less about us.

I LOVE this place. Ever since my first visit, I think this will be my grand kick it spot. The ambience and atmosphere is very chill. If you enjoy a nice one on one with someone or even a chill group date, this is the place to go. They have an extensive menu on their beers and cocktails. They have a full bar too! I was very impressed that they offer Hennessy because most bars here in Dallas doesn’t. There is indoors and outdoors seating as well. They offer a few arcade games and a pool table. It’s a pretty spacious place so you could always find a place to be intimate or you can wander around with your friends. Their most popping nights would probably be on Fridays and Saturdays, but Sunday are great date nights.

Went yesterday, there wasn’t much going on in the patio or outside but a few groups. Drinks took forever and they were out of their Oktoberfest so they recommended some pumpkin beer. Strange rec, which I ignored and went with something else. Prices aren’t bad, but you could get same drinks elsewhere for better. Ordered food and waitress took 1 order out of group of 12 and then just walked off. Tracked her down and everyone ordered. Seems if you order from Foundry section, the food gets confusing for the restaurant group. Literally none of the food runners nor our waitress knew what we ordered. Food was OK, but not worth the hassle of the service tho.

Favorite beer garden in DFW and it’s not even close. The beer, the vibe, bartenders. Been coming here for the last 3 – 4 years every Thursday just because this place is that good & everyone who comes here Falls in love with it also. Great craft beer selection and they make one hell of an old fashioned.

Friends came into town and we thought we would try this place out since it was walking distance to our apartment. It was half past 8 when we walked inside. After ordering our meal, we decided to enjoy the nice lights and patio with outdoor picnic tables. The weather was just lovely. My order: Buffalo tenders and sweet potato fries My tenders were delicious! What fresh chicken! I loved it. Fries were good but seemed a little cold/not freshly fried. Many crumbs were given. My friends also shared the side of fries and just raved! Their orders: Mashed potatoes 2 piece fried chicken The mashed potatoes were great! I dipped my fries in them and it was delish! The chicken was not fully cooked. It had appeared this way but was pink and red when light was shined. My poor friends had to wait an additional 20 minutes just to have their pieces of chicken re-cooked. We were told they had made a new batch. When it came out… The pieces were actually smaller than the first batch. My food and other friends had finished our meal. So we sat there awkwardly waiting on them to finish. I’m surprised the kitchen staff did not offer a complimentary item, discount or even an apology?

This place is fun for so many DIFFERENT reasons. I don’t usually do «list form», but what the heck: — Super chill: There’s always a crowd here, but it never seems too crowded(especially on weeknights). And the crowd itself is more down to earth. I guess it’s hard to be pretentious when you are in a shed with tire tread nailed to the wall. — Good drink selection: I come here primarily for the beer, especially when on special(see below on price). But if I’m in one of my scotch/bourbon moods, there’s a decent selection too. And they have tasty looking mixed drinks too, but I never really venture down that road. — Price: It’s cheap already, but Tuesday and Thursdays evenings most draft beers are only $ 3. I usually come on the«chiller» nights, but there’s also weekly ping pong tournaments and concerts going on too. Each night of the week will be a slightly different experience, but it’s never a bad time to check out The Foundry.

When in the mood for a chilled weekend, this is my go to place for some food, drinks and live music. We like to bring our dog since it’s pet friendly. They even have a water station for the animals. I just love the Austin-like atmosphere with warm outdoor lightings. The band plays on Friday and Saturday night. There’s a Chicken Scratch restaurant next door if you’re in the mood for some fresh chicken with biscuit or waffles of your choice. If you’re heading here on a Friday or Saturday night, parking can be difficult. Valet is an option if the parking lot area is full. Other than that, I would recommend checking out this unique place.

A good bar space has to have interesting beers, a chill atmosphere, and music that exemplifies what the establishment is all about. Luckily, The Foundry accomplishes all of these things. I really enjoy coming here for the patio space, because I can actually have a conversation with my friends without having to talk loudly. Good to bring a big group of people on most nights. You may have to plan ahead if you want to come on a weekend. Four instead of five stars for the beer selection. They have a decent selection of beers, but I’m pretty adventurous when it comes to beer and most of what they have, I’ve already had at other bars. Also, the parking is not great.

I would say this place earns 3 ½ to 4 stars. I came to the location of the foundry/chicken scratch on a Sunday about 2pm in May. This May has had epic rainfall so it was overcast but never rained — perhaps that’s why it was empty? It seems like a really fun place to day drink and eat, we sat outside on the picnic tables and ordered drinks and food. I had a Bloody Mary which was wonderful, but their frozen drink machine was broken so we couldn’t order any of their signature frozen cocktails which was a pain. But these things happen. We also ordered food from chicken scratch, mostly the chicken tenders and a few sandwiches. I think it was very«regular» I think the sides were nice and having all the dipping sauces were fun, but it was just alright. I will say that the hummus wraps were the bomb, and something I had never really had with a lot of flavor. I think for the price/location/quality there are so many other phenomenal places in the area!

We came here for a birthday party and sat in the Coop. The drink selection was pretty good. I had a few draft beers and my wife was drinking the Southern Belle(Bellini blended with champagne, Fleur elderflower liqueur, Stirrings peach schnapps & peach purée). It was delish. This is a great place to bring the kids and let them run around and there is even live music.

Despite a potentially difficult time parking, The Foundry is a very neat bar venue that features a chicken restaurant right next door to fill all your needs. It’s a hip place features a stage for live music built out of loading pallets and a large outdoor patio area to enjoy the beautiful weather out. This patio is also shared with Chicken Scratch next door where you can order food from alongside your drinks. Service is reasonably paced with a decent selection of beers and plenty of other drinks if you know what you want. It’s a great place to come with friends, hang back, relax and enjoy a few drinks and munch on a few snacks. As the weather warms up, it’ll be a great place to enjoy the outside without having to be active. Will definitely be looking to come back sometime!

This place is awesome when there aren’t a bunch of entitled hipsters with their toddlers in the bar. I thought it was illegal for children to be in an alchoholic space, let alone they had way too many drinks to drive home safely with children in tow. If I go back and there are children in the bar I will not likely return. One person with a 50 $ bar tab here.

Although I was really drunk and don’t remember much I do remember clean restrooms that means a lot about a bar. They have a great selection of craft beers at a good price. A lot of space but not a lot of parking.

For those that don’t know, The Foundry is a hidden treasure. I’ve known about this place for some time, but I’m rarely in the Trinity Grove area. This evening I decided to venture to someone place new and then bam! It happened. When I walked in I was totally blown away. It was one of the coolest places to hang out when the weather is nice. It looks like something from a music video. wait. there was a music video made here(Eli Young Band video 2013). The grounds are surrounded by wooden pallets. Not in the Sanford & Sons/junk yard way of pallets, but in a much more creative and trendy way. There’s a lot of picnic tables for all size groups of people. And you can’t forget there is a lot of shade provided by the trees. I noticed there’s a stage for live music outside & inside. So I assume they have bands scheduled on a regular basis. This place is dog friendly too. I know my dog will be with me next time. There is a stand where you can order your food or you can go inside to the ice house style bar area. I think the bar top can probably seat about 20+ people, so there’s space for everyone. The inside has a few video games, pool tables and Tvs. Now as far as your beverages, there is a full bar and a good selection of local brew on tap. And their food menu is simple, yet it has a few surprises and twists. I enjoyed the chicken(boneless) and coconut waffles with Jalapeño syrup. That’s right. jalapeño syrup. I’m always a fan of good chicken and waffles. The jalapeño syrup gives you a little extra kick with each bite. I can tell this place will be on my list of places to kick back and relax with my buddies. I’ve heard it gets busy on the weekends, but I’m sure it will be workable. I’ve decided to load up my dog and come back soon.

One of the best«patios» in town. The Foundry is an outdoor-indoor place, a garage converted into a bar with roll front doors. The patio is surrounded by walls and trees, so you feel quite secluded here and far from city life, though it is just West of Downtown. It is a gravel and picnic table lot with a great stage at one end. A good, well selected set of taps. A few interesting cocktails. A good place for a casual hang. Chicken Scratch, a terrific little restaurant, shares the space and offers up soul-and-comfort food fare. More than worth a try.
