I don’t even think they deserve a star. Cathy Jean has hired some lazyass, extremely rude employees thats probably why they are going out of business. I think that if you go into a store that is going out of business, they would want to make every reasonable sale they can get. I went in and saw some sandals I liked but the size I needed was the floor display. So I asked the girl at the register if she would give a discount because you can clearly see that the floor model has been worn(more than any floor models I’ve seen) and she just flat out said NO. I would have paid the price of $ 70 if it were not a floor sample. Then on a separate visit, I asked another employee for a size on some boots and she said«usually» the size we have out is the smallest. Does it really take that much effort to take a look in the back to check your stock. I was in customer service for 8 yrs and this store completely lacks customer service skills. I would understand if she said, oh I just checked that for another customer and the smallest size we have is…

Can you say RUDE! Good shoes at good prices, but the employees that work here are extremely RUDE. I’m guess the line«must be extra rude to be employed here» is on the application. I don’t think I would ever shop hear again for the shear fact that the employees are so darn RUDE.

I hardly buy anything here, I usually go to Bakers, but lately, there’s nothing cute at that store… lol. so I go on over to Cathy Jean. Surprisingly, the black elastic wedge caught my attention! It was $ 60 and 25%…I asked the chick to put my shoes on hold til the end of the day, and she kindly did. I came back, and bought em. I wore the cute wedges, but after 20 min. of wearing em, my feet hurted like HELL!!! UGGGGH!!! Why oh why, are cathy jean shoes soooo uncomfortable? I don’t understand! I really thought for what it was worth, my feet wouldn’t hurt so bad. But they did to the point, I had to take off my shoes, & rest my feet. I’m not sure if I should THINK about returning em, because they are sooooo cute! Style over comfort? I don’t know what to do. I might just end up getting my moola back, and buying clothes with that money instead. Still debating because, I haven’t bought myself a pair of shoes in a looooooong time, and the shoes I bought really caught my eye. Again, not sure if it’s worth keeping, because the comfort level on a scale from 0 – 5 is a 2, for me. *Ooops, I just remembered anything FINAL sale is non refundable. Ugh* Guess I’m keeping the shoes! lol. Customer service was alright, but they didn’t bother to greet me which was a big NONO! No eye contact, may I help you, etc. There was a blonde chick and a filipino girl working there at the time. They were both talking to each other, and hardly paying any attention unless I asked them for help. I think they could do a better job at customer service.

I love shoes and this is one of my favorite places to get boots. I remember buying boots 2 years ago and all my friends thought it was cute. Next thing you know, my friend goes to Cathy Jean the next day and buys the same pair. LOL. Usually when I come here, there’s always something on sale. Bakers is right across from Cathy Jean but I like coming to Cathy jean more since they always have shoes on sale and have cuter shoes.

Yay, I just bought a pair of boots there. The price tag said they were $ 100, but they were 50% off. When I was Buying them, they turned out to be even cheaper. So I got them for $ 30! I love these boots, but my mom was a little unhappy that they were all man-made and not leather. But dude, for $ 30? So happy!

I love buying shoes at Cathy Jean b/c they usually have my size, they’re affordable & they have a good selection. Customer service is usually fine here, but I had to write a Unilocal review for my last experience. So, I ask one of the ladies for 2 shoes. She was friendly & she got my shoes quickly. I see another shoe that I see, but I didn’t see the same lady that grabbed my shoe, so I asked another employee for it. Once I decide that I wanted to buy the shoes, I head to the register & both of the employees start bickering about who should get the sale. They were saying some rude stuff to each other & it sucked being in the middle of it. I used to work for a shoe store, so I know that this happens. At my old work, it was all about helping each other out, so there were not a lot of arguments about who should get the sale. Those ladies, specifically the second lady that helped me was very unprofessional. To top it off, the second lady that got my shoe got really mad at a customer who dropped a shoe. She said«Are you gonna pick that up?» & she said it with some serious attitude. I should’ve gotten that lady’s name so I could make a complaint. I think I’ll head over to Hillsdale’s Cathy Jean or I’ll stick to shopping at Nordstrom for my heels.

Don’t come to Cathy Jean with the expectation that you will get department store service, nor will you get shoes that will last you a lifetime. What I found off putting was mainly the fact that I chose 3 different styles in 2 different sizes because I was picking up shoes for my brides maids, and the gal who was«helping» brought out a mountain of boxes to look through. The process of going through the boxes trying to find the same pair of shoes in 2 different sizes made me feel like I was on a scavenger hunt. Some of the boxes contained shoe styles I didn’t ask for. Perhaps the sales girl thought I would enjoy the element of surprise? I suspect that she included the addition styles with the«this oughta shut her up» mentality. In the end of my search I concluded that I had not made myself clear about ultimately finding 1 style of shoes in 2 styles. At that point I chose my favorite style and asked the sales girl to check if they have the next size up or down. A light bulb went off in her head. She went into the back and in a few minutes later she returned with my request. Perfecto! Bottom line is that had I been in an upscale department store, I would have walked. The reason I didn’t? They have a great selection and everything is on sale. You really can’t beat a $ 30 price tag on bridal shoes. That being said, you get what you pay for in lack of high prices, personalized service, comfort and longevity of the product. This store is always teeming with ladies who demand attention and that makes it difficult for the staff to accommodate everyone in the shop. Just be patient and someone will come by and help you. When I checked out I inquired about the return policy and the other gal at the counter reiterated in a very condescending tone that the shoes must be unworn in order to get a refund or store credit. Duh! Like I am going to wear $ 30 shoes and attempt to return them. Paper receipts – time consuming and archaic Basically, if you are in the market to find affordable stylish shoes, without five star treatment, Cathy Jean is worth checking out.

Just went here and bought my first cognac pair of boots, real leather for $ 85. It is their end of winter sale. I went to every single store looking for these type of boots, nobody was selling them anymore except for Nordstroms at $ 150. Can’t afford that. The boots fit true to size and good quality. Can’t wait to wear them out.
