I should preface this review by writing that I typically do not eat burgers except at home where I can control meat quality and doneness. My husband loves burgers anywhere except McDonalds. He finds Burger King and Five Guys acceptable. He likes Burgerfii and Johnny Rockets. But the diner burger in the best in his estimation only second to the burgers we order from Chicago and cook on our home grill. Today I was in the mood so we tried BGR while at the Danbury Mall. I liked the menu. There seemed to be choices for everyone’s diet. It is a little pricy but really in line with other mall food choices. I had one of the specialty burgers with the recommended accompaniments, the Wellington. My husband made his own classic, grill onions and cheddar cheese. We asked for medium well because if high schoolers with braces are making my burger I want to minimize my chances of getting a parasitic infection or worse. We also ordered a side of fries. The order was ready in about 10 minutes. The burger itself was over done and hockey puck-like. The meat quality seemed okay and the accompaniments for my burger were a little underwhelming but it was fine. The order of fries was very small but tasty and not salty. All in all, I think my desire for a burger was satisfied but I will not likely return and neither would my burger eating husband. For mall food, I would say it is a good match. There is no expectation of culinary excellence. Just an okay burger on a large bun with some good toppings and minimal fries.

Best burger ever. people complain about the price but the quality of the meat warrants it… prime grass fed, free roaming beef is hard to find, if not impossible at a fast food burger joint. In fact it’s hard too find anywhere. The burger is so flavorful and juicy you can’t go wrong with the burger in a lettuce wrap. Anytime I’m in Danbury or Yonkers, I make sure it’s on my calendar for lunch… ENJOY

When you visit a Smash Burger or 5 Guys… you get consistency… If BGR is to survive, they will need this as well. Wayback is way better.

I give this joint till after Christmas. For the same price you can go to Bareburger and be waited on. The bun is forgettable. Not enough fries for the price. Never again.

WTF inconsistency — my first time here was fairly impressive in spite of the shitty reviews. This time, not so much. Burger tasted burned like they didn’t scrape the griddle off and the bacon was nowhere near as crispy as previously. I don’t mind paying for quality and waiting for a cooked to order burger, but when you screw that up… forget it. Also — they got rid of the Coke freestyle machine! Boo!!! Come during the week, they have a combo deal on the basic burger that will save you a couple bucks.

Food was mediocre and a little pricey for what you get. Should have known not to try it when there was no line & relatively few people, while Chipotle’s line was out the door. Food was probably worth 2.5 stars, but overall rating of two stars for the 25 minute wait when it wasn’t busy…

When you disappoint the Godfather this badly there is a chance that a funeral will be coming soon. How on freaking earth can you feed this crap to people with a smile on your face. Beef had no flavor and by the way it was warmed up as it was sitting next to the grill. The American obsession with burgers has spawned absolute shit like this overpriced disgusting food. TOTALSHIT! I can’t say any more because I just get more pissed off that I paid $ 12+ to be given a shit sandwich.

Stopped there for lunch today. $ 10.00 for a burger, fries and a soda. Burger was tasteless(it wasn’t bad, it just had no flavor), fries were okay(the salt and pepper wouldn’t stick to them at all, which was annoying), and the soda machine was pretty good(many choices of flavored soft drinks — I had the lime diet coke and it was tasty). Overall… I’d rather go to Red Robin, wait just a little longer, get a really REALLY good burger and endless fries that actually taste good.

Waited 30 minutes for 4 burgers. Then they threw out out food when we asked for our money back. Don’t go here. Please don’t go here. They had 3 people working on a busy shopping day. You will regret it.

I had never been here before tonight and won’t be back… AWFUL. The place at 8 pm Saturday, four days before Christmas, was empty– should have been a sign. A cheese burger, fries was $ 12. WTF? This best be a good burger. The service was slow(they were empty). Two guys staring at the burgers cooking(tip to the cooks– squeezing the juice out of the burgers is not how you cook burgers), while customers ended up waiting. I waited 15 minutes for the burger to cook, then 10 minutes to have someone bag it, so obviously it was going to be cold. The burger was awful. Tasteless(of course not juciy at all), smaller than the bun, and improperly cooked. How do you burn half and leave the other half bordering on raw? It is as joke that they ask how you like it cooked– my «med-rare» cooked the same time at the«well done» ordered after my order. The $ 3 bag of fries was very small– less than half you get at Five-Guys, and though cooked perfectly, tasteless. My dogs liked them. Save the money and hit Five-Guys. Even Wendy’s probably has a better burger than BGR, a one-third the price.

OK, if you are going to call your place The Burger Joint, YOUNEEDTOMAKETHEBURGERSCORRECTLY. Stopped in on a weeknight around 7:00PM. and the place was empty. First clue all is not right in burgerland. Ordered a couple of burgers. Ordered mine with Swiss cheese, lettuce and tomato medium. Server enters the order and then asks if I I would like lettuce and tomato. Second clue. Wait about five minutes and pick up our order. Burger looks nothing like the picture outside and is disappointingly small. Charge me another $ 1 and make a burger that fills out the bun. Open the bun and guess what? No Swiss. I’m not a complainer, so I decide to do without. Bite into the burger and, if I looked really closely, in the right light, there may have been something that could have at one time been pink. Three seconds longer on the grill and it would have been a solid well done. Redeeming qualities: The beef was tasty, and the onion rings were amazing — crisp huge and not greasy at all. Two burgers, fries, onion rings, one soft drink, one beer — $ 31.00 Not a chance I’ll return.

It was ok. Why was my yummy bun cold, though? It would have been better warm, because the burger was well seasoned and tasty. Fries were good, too. But it sure is pricey. Better than mic key Ds, sure, but not super pricey good, either. For that I would expect service, not a grab yourself type setup.

Burgers done right! Delecious cooked to order aged prime beef, wonderfully seasoned and toppings galore. Eat there almost every time i go to the mall and never an issue. They rock!

Basically, an overpriced burger with a bun that taste like it came straight from the bag and skipped the grill. The servings of the fries were not evenly proportioned between the meals. For $ 3 bucks I want some FRIES! I got half of what my 9yr nephew got. Then to make it worst, the A1 sauce bottle had a cracked cap and when my brother shook the bottle, sauce went everywhere. That was pretty funny though lol. I give them 2 stars for the laugh

I was not very pleased with my experience here. I ordered a regular burger and chose the«spice it up» option which is supposed to come with jalapeños, spicy sauce, and pepper jack cheese. The first thing I noticed about the burger was that it was not spicy at all. The peppers that were in the burger might as well have been green peppers because they provided zero spiciness. The sauce was okay at best, but was also not spicy at all. The pepper jack cheese did not provide any spice, but I can let that pass, it’s just cheese. The biggest thing I took away was that the burger meat itself was pretty bland. No real taste; the bread and burger kind of blended into one taste. I’ll give this place another try one day but based on my first experience I was not pleased. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing.

Plainly, it’s a good quality burger dead on to what you order. Strategically placed on a quality brioche bun with fresh toppings. Reasonable charges on fixings such as applewood bacon, mushrooms, and/or fromage. Fries are good. Sweet potatoes FF are yummy as are onion rings. For all this you will pay a reasonable price, not cheap but well worth it. All the negative reviews are rating the price not the quality. Many reviewers seem they want to pay McDonalds prices but get aged beef. Not happening. Pay for quality or stick to murder burgers. Yea place is small & at busy times tables may be scarce but you’re at the mall. Wait or go sit in the courtyard tables… Not bad option.

We’ve been here twice with our boys — 11&4 yrs old. It is pricey if you are comparing it to Wendy’s but I don’t think it’s over priced for what you get. They have kids meals, signature burgers, and a mix and match menu. The burgers are big and juicy — cooked to order on a nice bun with a lot of cheese selections. The fries are crunchy, just how I like them and you get a decent amount. We haven’t tried their milkshakes or their onion rings, but I’m sure we will in due time. When you order you get a pager like in some Panera’s. We waited about 10 minutes each time. Not so bad since the food came out just as we ordered and has been deliciously on point both times. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about their products and the manager was walking around both times making sure everyone was happy. The kids, of course, love the soda machine with the 100+ flavors.

This place should at least have a solid three, three and a half. Yes, the burgers are a little pricey but this isn’t a Wendy’s or five guys. They actually cook your burger to order the way you like it. Medium-rare is the way to go btw. I really enjoy their legend burger. Simple and to the point. Sweet potato fries are a great addition and their soda/seltzer machine is mad fun to play with. Overall, I’d say 3.75 to 4 out of 5. Depends on the night and crowd.

Excited to find a new burger boutique in Danbury, so we tried them out. The son and I ordered up burgers, my wife asked for a grilled cheese sandwich and Sarah was nice enough to place a special order for the non-menu item. Comfort-wise, it’s like eating a meal in a closet. The bathrooms, order line, pickup area and soda machines all converge in one spot. The tables are small and feature grade school seats, I guess to save room in the small dining room. The burgers were fine. Good toppings, decent buns, tasty patties. BGR features stacked burgers. I’d prefer something 6 inches wide and three inches deep, but stacks give you reverse layout making them awkward and messy. But we knew that was coming based on the pictures. Our onion rings where thick and reasonably done. We finished our orders with no complaints or worries, but no accolades either. My wife’s special order was not as satisfying. She got two small bun sets full of cheese. These were $ 3 and that was the proper value I’d say. But she also ordered $ 3 worth of toppings and they were not on the sandwiches or on the side. She returned to the counter and was told the manager would be notified. We sat for twenty minutes beyond our meal for a resolution. No redo, no toppings, no refund offered, no visit from the manager. A big surprise and a huge disappointment. Overall, a disappointing experience. Nice to see DBF Mall picking up new, great restaurants. BGR will have to raise their game to keep up.
