Awful and overpriced food. The only reason it gets 2 stars is for great service. I will not be coming back.

hahahahahahahahaahhaahhaha whew! What a place! Food was about a negative 456 out of 5. Something about those tacos though. So greasy. so gross… so delicious! Also there was a guy who walked in, played the video poker machine for 20 minutes and walked out. It was funny.

I gave one star only because the service was great. Other than that it was the worst excuse for Mexican food I have ever had. We ordered queso dip and got velveeta and rotella. I ordered a cheese enchilada and the red sauce was Hormel beanless chili. We won’t be back and will not recommend it to anyone.

I’ve been going there since I was a little kid. I once ordered a Sancho, which was good, but I always get the hard shells. They’re fantastic. The meat is finely ground and has such a unique flavor. The tomato paste instead of tomatoes also adds something unique. It’s greasy, but oh so good.

I do love the tacos. I think the beef has the best flavor around. They just built an addition to the building and remodeled. Be sure if you pay by credit card that you CLEARLY mark the tip on the ticket, I had a waitress write in a large tip on a credit card slip. I called and talked to the owner. I don’t think he believed me but when he showed me his original ticket it was clear. The waitress is still working there but we still go in there for the food. I won’t hold is against this place for the actions of one stupid waitress. I now only pay cash.

An order of Sancho’s tacos would be my death row last meal. They are by far the best tasting tacos i have ever had. The flavor of the meat is unbelievable, the shells always fresh and they are super generous with the cheese. I live across the river, but gladly make the trip every few weeks to get my fix. I’ve never had a bad experience there… chips and salsa are fantastic too!

Well, the one star is for the fact that they had food. The Quad Cities has several fantabulous Mexican restaurants… Sanchos, not so much. My chicken was pink… EEEK! Then, I ordered a beef burrito for a replacement and it was somewhat like canned gravy in a tortilla. For Americanized Mexican food, I would give Rudy’s a try maybe. But really, I’d just go for the good, authentic stuff.

This is a little place right off Brady Street that you would miss if you did not know about it. I have been coming here since I was a kid. It used to be called Pepe’s a long time ago. This is the best Americanized Mexican food that I have ever had. The flavor of the beef and beans is incredible! It is by no means an upscale place, but it does the job. They staff is always friendly and the food is consistent. If your looking for authentic Mexican go to Azteca or Habenero’s, but for something different try the Sancho or my fave, the beef and bean burrito!
