I went there yesterday for the first time. I had their Chili Verde and it was amazing. Full of flavor… the beans were a little runny but they had good flavor. Shredded lettuce with tomatoes and guacamole was good. The chips need improvement and they don’t have any mild salsa. But I will be returning for sure for their Chili Verde… The gentleman and the young lady behind the counter were very friendly and helpful.

Holy damn, this place is absolutely terrible and a waste of money. The amount I paid for a super burrito here is just sad. The COHO or even Chipotle is way better than this in terms of taste and authenticity, those places arnt even authentic. Atleast they can wrap burritos correctly. The carnitas tasted bland and unseasoned. I feel like a frozen burrito from a grocery store has more flavor. Their super burrito had rice, beans, cheese, sour cream, and the blandest and driest carnitas I’ve ever tasted. $ 7.50 plus tax for a mediocre attempt at a burrito. Not worth.

I loved this little hole in the wall for a long time. How far they have fallen. They charge .50 $ for any credit or debit card payment. They used to put fresh avocado in their super burrito, now it costs a dollar extra, bringing the total to over 11 $ for a burrito. Really? The meat tastes terrible! The service is poor, the food is mediocre, and the price is the highest in Davis. Buyer beware! With all the other options like Dos Coyotes or Guadalajara, or the best, Tres Hermanas, don’t waste your time or money with this sub-standard restaurant.

This place isn’t as good as the other Taquerias in Davis. The interior is a little dark and gloomy. The menu is a little too small and there are less options, compared to the other taquerias. The food service overall was nice and friendly. However, the food wasn’t great. I came here twice with my friend and my girlfriend, and both times were a little disappointing. I tried the burrito, which was wet and soggy due to the sauce and there wasn’t much filling. The guacamole was lacking and a little underseasoned as well. Their tacos aren’t amazing as well. I tried the adobada and the meat bits were on the firm side. There was too much sauce which made the taco too soggy. I suppose if you live in West Davis, this would be your only source of Mexican cuisine. However, if you could go to another taqueria, I would advise you to do so.

This place has some the biggest burritos I’ve ever seen! I get the carnitas burrito and can never finish it but, that’s ok… that just means I have lunch the next day, lol! Good food, good service makes for a great experience coming here.

Some Mexican places give you huge portions of crappy food. This is one of those places. You’re better off buying canned chicken and enchilada sauce and wrapping them up in a shitty rubber tortilla yourself. 2 stars because it’s edible, and the cashier was nice and cute. What can I say, I’m a sucker.

I always order 6 tacos when I eat here. They are so goooood. This is a go-to place for me and my boyfriend whenever we crave Mexican food. Also, it is not very busy which I really appreciate. Who would want to wait for long to get their food? not me

Best things to order here: carnitas(in a tostada, taco salad, or just a plate) and the shrimp ceviche tostada. While I was preggo I always craved that! Burritos aren’t that great and their chicken is really watery and bland. But their carnitas are SO good! They always have 2 salsas available and you get free chips if you dine in or spend at least $ 5 on a to go order. Horchata can be inconsistent. Sometimes its nice and rich, a few other times it’s super watered down. The one time I complained about the watery drink, it was an older lady who simply said, ‘that’s how it is…’ Umm… NOPE, she was wrong and wish I got my $$ back. I do agree with other reviewers that she can be cold. But all the other servers are great.

This is ridiculous. I have never felt the need to write a review before but this place has got me feeling like i could write a novel. To start off, the lady, probably the manager, is the rudest person in the world. She can’t even handle customer complaints with proper store owner etiquette. Secondly, you pay for all this food but end up being cheated from what you’re paying for and when you say something, she somehow makes up this menu change that has apparently been effective for«5 months». They don’t even have the decency to include what is in each dish consist of which causes the customer to have to ask and them to tweak whatever here and there to save money. UGH. I can’t even finish this review because of how bad it is. please. don’t support this place

Rude customer service. The lady in the front always has an attitude. Their burritos are mediocre. I caught one of the cooks microwaving the burrito to melt the cheese. I mean if I’m paying $ 8 – 9 for a damn burrito and you microwave it in front of me? Might as well make my own at home. Everything seems like it’s just reheated. And they don’t give out chips unless you ask and when you ask, they always have an attitude. I also find it hilarious how they don’t have a grade from the health inspection. Sketch ass place if you ask me. There’s better Mexican food in Davis. Better yet, go to Woodland if you can. Chuy’s is not worth the trip.

Light tasty fish tacos. Always quick service. Refried bean burrito was good too. They charged me extra for using my debit card. .50 cents ugh, would have paid cash if I had known.

I got a burrito and there was basically nothing but meat and beans in there. I usually expect some veggies and salsa, guac, sour cream, etc but this was just dry and boring. The meat wasn’t very fresh or tasty either. Honestly a supermarket frozen burrito would taste better. No chips or salsa, I’d have to give this a 2 stars.

I am wondering if I came on a bad night, because it looks like the average is 4 stars… or are the majority of visitors just upset they don’t have a car to get them to taco bell? Sorry, from Los Angeles and I frequented San Diego, and this is a piss poor excuse for Mexican food. I ordered the chicken flautas… to their credit, the shell itself had great flavor. The problem… the chicken had no flavor. Literally… no flavor. Not even chicken flavor, which makes me wonder if it is canned. I cannot emphasize this enough to any and all(including the owners) who may be reading this… have you guys ever heard of something called salt??? The rice was decent, but this is my first time ever having refried beans served to me in a liquid state. Lukewarm refried bean«soup» is not an appetizing side to have on a plate. My roommate’s tacos were just as bland(his words). Suffice to say, we will not be returning… 4 stars, fellow Unilocalers??? Seriously!!!

I love Chueys. Great food, nice people and reasonable prices. The carnitas is really good. I like that they offer whole beans which are delicious.

This is a yummy, casual, taqueria. The food is yummy and the prices are reasonable. I was gonna give it 3 stars but gave it an extra one because the xmas decorations are adorable. :)

Wasn’t sure whether to give this place 3 stars or 4. I wanted to go with 4, because their main salsa is amazing.(They have a small salsa bar at the front by the register.) It has this wonderful peppery undertone that I haven’t gotten anywhere else… ever. I got the flautas plate which comes with rice and beans and salad as well as horchata. They were good, but not great. I was mildly underwhelmed. Hence the 3. However, service was quick and friendly, despite the fact that it was rush hour lunch time. Also, can’t argue with complimentary chips :)

I wanted to like this place! I tried going here instead of the usual Dos Coyotes for lunch break because I wanted to support a small business. I ordered just a side of beans because I already had donuts and it was $ 3.25 for a dinky watery side of beans. I planned to eat the food there coz like, I’m on a bike but when I got my beans in a to go container the lady said«it’s for to go» and kind of «shooed» me away if you will. Rude. So I just ate at the tables outside the grocery store.

So the food here is actually pretty good, it’s one of the better Mexican restaurants in Davis. However, more than 50% of the time I’ve been here they’ve told me they’re «out» of what I want to order. It’s driving me up the wall. The last time they were out of RICEANDBEANS(and chicken and asada and more)! There’s just no excuse, those are so cheap. I don’t know if I’ll be back, it’s too annoying to roll the dice on what they’ll have available that night.
