We love this place!!! It’s got good food at a far price. We come here almost every week. If we can, of course. My son is extremely picky in eat his whole plate. Every time. Thank you for being in Davis.

Delicious food and great prices. I love the seating and booth arrangements. The service is always friendly. I loooove the cold noodle salad with peanut sauce and the housemade soy milk is delicious. The portions are huge. Overall a great place for lunch.

So yummy! The service is consistent and the food is always great. With home-made noodles, how can you go wrong?

Just had lunch here! Very quick service, delicious, homemade noodles, and very kind and patient workers! They let me stick around to finish my tea and take it with me :)

We tried the veggie dumplings because the photo outside the restaurant made them look delicious. We also had the Veggie Shrimp. Both dishes were very disappointing. The noodles in the veggie shrimp were very bland. No taste at all! I tried adding some soy sauce and sirracha just to get some taste to it. The dumplings had a very strong ginger taste and another spice I can’t figure out. The service was not great either, the server basically took the beer bottle of my hand once I was done signing for the check. I wouldn’t go back to try anything else. When you claim to be a noodles house and those aren’t good, I can’t imagine what the rest of the menu might taste like. The price was good, but in this case I’d rather pay more for good food. This was a waste of money.

This review is for the tan tan noodle, which is simply noodle with peanut sauce sprinkled with green onion. It doesn’t come with meat so I asked for a chicken add-on. I couldn’t finish the whole dish because it tasted just like scoops of peanut butter were dissolved in water to make into a sauce and then poured over noodles. The chicken did not taste like real meat either. Don’t recommend spending money on this as I could have made it at home for cheaper. I would rather go to Thai Canteen down the street the next time I’m craving noodles. In terms of interior, the restaurant doesn’t seem like the cleanest. I was a little sketchy over their utensils as the forks are all scratched up and dull in appearance. The table was a little sticky so I tried not to touch it. Service was ok, as we were quickly seated and the bill came quickly after we finished so we could just get out.

A very good price point for their menu, and their menu has a decent selection. I am more off an egg noodle lover, but most of the dishes had udon type noodles. My wife had the braised beef, noodle soup in a five spice broth, and I had the pork chop, noodle soup in a basic asian chicken broth. Both bowls were pretty tasty, and the quantity was quite hearty. The only negative was that the place is very small, and seating is limited. Other than that, a pretty good bang for the buck.

HAVEAGAIN: The Dan Dan Noodles are wonderful. It’s all I ever have here. A great meal for $ 5.50!

Quickly seated, friendly server! Adorable interior. Didn’t like my seat because I could feel every single time the person sitting behind me moved. I initially ordered a wonton noodle soup because I thought to myself, «you can never go wrong with wonton»…and I went wrong with wonton. Wonton Noodle Soup: 1 star. Sooooo bland. The broth and the noodles. The wonton tasted like decent wonton. Wish I tried their hot oiled dumplings instead… My boyfriend got the Five Spice Beef Noodle Soup. He gave it two stars(but he’s soft). I tried his, and it did have flavoring so I guess a two star sounds about right for that entrée. Overall, the food was eh. Probably not coming back since there’s plenty of other places to try at Davis anyways. Should have went to Dumpling House instead, but we wanted to give Noodle City a shot. Sadly, we were let down.

In the mood for soup? Definitely come to noodle city. Small little spot behind dumpling house and Sophia’s. There’s no big tables so if you come with a big party, chances are you gotta split up. I love the dumplings/wontons here. The hot oil wontons are legit, and the chicken/pork potstickers too. Get the potstickers pan fried though so more flavor. The dumpling sauce they give you is amazing. For entrees, I usually rotate between the five spice beef and the pork chop noodle soup. Both are really good. Never a big visit here. Definitely try this place out!

Decent noodle soups and dishes that are really cheap(especially for lunch specials). They have Taiwanese specials and an array of typical Asian dishes. Five Spice Beef Noodle soup– A good quantity of noodles, but the dish was just ok. The soup lacked flavor and was a little too simple. I also thought there was not enough meat or vegetables. Chicken Curry Noodles– also a lot of the noodles, but the curry was a little bland and too spicy(which was surprising for a yellow curry). Although the food was just ok, I can’t really complain since it was an $ 8 meal and pretty filling. Perfect for college students trying to make the most out of their $.

The portion is large and price is reasonable. Taste is not bad but the noodle is cooked for too long I think. Too soft and lost the original taste of noodle, actually couldn’t feel any taste from the noodle. A little bit disappointed.

Went here for dinner and ordered the pork wanton noodle soup and the Dan-Dan noodles. The soup broth was delicious nice and clear with some fried onions in it. The soup was about 4 pieces of carrot and 4 pieces of broccoli 2 big hand fulls of noodles and 5 large pork dumplings. The dumplings/wantons were delicious, they had a much thicker wrapper than wantons generally have and they soaked up all the delicious broth. The noodles were kind of plain but they had an excellent chewy texture. The Dan-Dan noodles were just a bowl of noodles with peanut sauce, crumpled peanuts, and 3 – 4 slices of green onion. I would not be happy with them as a meal but as an appetizer they were great.

Good noodle choices for brisk cold days. Fast service. Wish beef in noodle soup was more tender. Overall, good soups.

This place wasn’t bad. I walked in on a summer day and there were workers laying on the chairs sleeping. Whatever. Got a bowl of the beef noodle soup and it wasn’t super flavorful but pretty good. Noodles had a good texture. Huge portion and cheap price. Not the best Taiwanese beef noodle soup I’ve ever had but it’ll do.

Been here twice so far. Pretty good. Could be better but eh. The service ok, not too slow and not super attentive. Only 3 stars because the 5 spice noodle had cilantro which was unexpected and a disappointment. The pricing is great for the amount of food.

I love noodles, so inevitably I would eat here at some point. Although I’ve been here twice, I’ve ordered the same thing both times – the eggplant and tofu special and warm soy milk. I love eggplant, and tofu is a staple in my vegan diet, so this platter was a safe choice for me. Thankfully, it didn’t disappoint. The service here is also great. The entire staff is very accommodating and polite. Sometimes they may have a hard time understanding you, but they are still extremely patient. The only drawback is that this restaurant is a bit rundown and kind of hidden. The bathroom also seems extremely sketchy. I am sure that with a little revamp, they could easily gain many more visitors.

After a weekend full of intense snowboarding(the intense portion was actually getting off my butt and learning not to fall) we decided to stop by Davis for some fuel. We were really feeling like noodles, so we pulled out our trusted Unilocal App and began our adventure. Service: The cashier was friendly, attentive, and professional. She seemed like the only waitress in this small restaurant, but she was efficient nonetheless. Food: They definitely gave you what you paid for. I ordered the 5 spice beef soup and it came out in this gigantic bowl full of noodles. I would recommend sharing a bowl instead. Noodles — The noodles itself were decent. They were either overcooked or made poorly. The texture didn’t provide that«bounce» when chewing. Soup — The soup was actually really good. The spices were in harmony, which made the broth very flavorful. Beef — The beef was a little dry and bland, but edible. Overall: Not sure if I can really recommend this place. I personally wouldn’t come here again.

I got the 5 spice beef noodle soup after reading all the Unilocal reviews, but when I tasted my friend’s mustard green chicken soup I realized I had made a mistake. The beef soup was alright but too salty for my taste. Get the mustard greens everyone! Still tasty but more subtle and not as potent as the beef. Large bowls. Get what you pay I guess…

Seriously? I don’t even want to waste your time with every excruciating detail about this experience. This low rating has nothing to do with the service, the price, the slight dinginess of the establishment, or anything that. It was the God awful Beef Noodle Soup. I came here for lunch with a friend and it was empty. We both ordered the Beef Noodle Soup. It came out relatively quick. I was excited because it was cool outside and I was hoping this would pick me up. I was in for a world of disappointment. The broth was so FREAKINGPLAINANDBORING. It was hot water with noodles in it. The pieces of beef were tender, but the broth was FLAVORLESS. It could not be saved with black pepper or soy sauce. Good GOD! It was so inexpensive, but why am I being charged $ 8 for a bowl of flavorless hot water with like 1 piece of broccoli floating around in it? I would return to this establishment, but I will never in my life order that terrible pointless Beef Noodle Soup ever again.
