Pork potstickers are my jam. So much crisp and crunch its spectacular. Cost is a bit high but flavor is all there.

So many of my students told me to eat here, and apparently I ordered All The Wrong Things. But if you have so many things on the menu that everyone knows aren’t good, why are they still on the menu? 1– chicken dumplings were super weird, with frozen-tasting corn inside them. nope. sorry. 2– teriyaki chicken bowl was also terrible. the chicken seemed to be one of those cut up cafeteria breaded chicken sammich patties with a little teriyaki sauce on it. Terrrrrrible. Scallion pancake was good though. that’s why i give two stars. Students told me to go back and try pork/chive dumplings, but my partner doesn’t eat pork so maybe i’ll swing by alone sometime. The general vibe is pretty divey/dirty, so if that bothers you, you may wanna go somewhere else.

I would give this place 5/5, but the cleanliness and sanitation of the place is sub par. you definitely get your money’s worth coming here and the sauce they give for their dumplings is the best i’ve ever had! Dumplings are cooked fresh and a generous size. However, because they are hand-made the meat is just sitting out as flys fly around it… but that doesn’t stop me from going haha

The Dumpling House is small but a good find. The food is tasty, prepared efficiently, and the prices are good as well. The menu isn’t huge but if you are in for tasty noodles and dumplings, this is the place to go in Davis.

I came here last night with a friend for dinner. I’ve had dumplings from here in the past because another friend had gotten them togo, and despite being a bit cold and soggy, I was impressed with the flavor, so I wanted to give the fresh ones a try whenever I got a chance. The store has ample seating, but the set up is a little awkward because it seems like it’s self seating, but I’m pretty sure you have to go in/to the front so they acknowledge you’re there, and then you can find whichever seat you’d like. After that thought service is super fast, After I ordered, my dumplings showed up in like 5 minutes, and near the front there is a sweet, old lady just chilling there nonstop making dumplings so you know it’s fresh. My friend and I shared chicken dumpings, pork/chive dumplings, and pork potstickers. I believe each order came with a dozen and it’s priced about 7 $ and change, so it’s very affordable and filling. I totally zoned out at the time because the dumplings I had tried previously were kimchi pork, so I should have ordered them to see how they tasted fresh, but I guess this gives me an excuse to come back in the future! My friend wanted the chicken dumplings, but I think they were the least flavorful of the bunch since it’s chicken, and chicken can taste a bit plain, but overall, everything tasted great. They do give you a dipping sauce, and it’s a nice slightly sweet/tangy sauce that compliments the dumplings well. We were each only given a small little cup, but it was more than enough for all three plates of food. Definitely, I would recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for a dumpling fix.

When you go to a «Dumpling House», you should only order the dumplings! We ordered: — pork/vegetables(good) — pork/chive(good) — pork/kimchi(good) — shrimp/chicken(okay — the pork ones are better) — fried calamari(do not order! Worst calamari I’ve ever had) — brocolli with garlic(taste-wise it’s okay but it’s a tiny little plate of veggies for $ 5!) It was busy when we came in and the foods came pretty slow. They have outdoor seatings both in front and at the back.

I came here for the first time on a mid-Saturday afternoon. 1) The ordering protocol is wonky and headache inducing. If you want to dine in, you stand wherever to wait for the waitress to seat you. Good luck getting their attention though. Do not seat yourself, because you will never be served because they don’t know you are there. For take out, go towards the back and order with the cashier. But I suggest using the side door to get to the cashier. 2) This place is tiny, itsy bitsy. The indoor dining area is a small room with a few tables all jammed in a room together with very little aisle walking space. They also have an outdoor patio dining area. 3) the food: If you have the patience to endure this willy nilly ordering process, the reward is the yummy potstickers/dumplings. Potstickers are pan fried and dumpling are steamed. I ordered the pork potstickers. They were perfectly pan fried to a golden crisp on one side. The pork filling was tasty. The dipping sauce was awesome, very flavorful. An order of potstickers will get you 10 for $ 8. 4)The place is not as clean and tidy as I hoped it would be. It’s a bit dumpy. 5) Overall I rank this place 3 stars. The potstickers are delicious, 5 stars. But the service is horrible though.

I was telling my roommate how I was craving for dumplings, so we decided to take go here. The food here was BOMB, I love it!!! I would recommend the cream cheese wonton and green onion bread as appetizers. The food here is tasty, generous portion for the price. They do get quite busy and you could end up waiting by the door for a seat, or sit outside but definitely worth the wait. However, the service is a bit slow! Overall, not a bad place for a quick, no-nonsense lunch. This small joint does fill up quickly, I suggest you arrive before noon.

My first experience with dumpling house was not the best, but I decided to hold out on reviewing them that time because I was so sure it was just an off day. We had come in right when they opened and right away they told us a number of the more desirable dumpling flavors were not available. Bummer, but since I’m not from Davis and I was just visiting, so I figured we should still try something so we went with the pork and vegetable dumplings deep fried. After about half an hour, and already a little sad about them running out of half of the dumpling flavors, we started to wonder where our order went. There were 2 other tables and they had gotten their food long before us. 50 in we realized that they probably forgot about us. Just as we were literally getting up to just leave, they finally came out. A whole hour to have our order ready when there weren’t even many people? These better be some magical dumplings. I’m sure the workers meant well, but idk if any food is worth waiting that long for. After that huge turn off experience, I decided to come a second time. We were helped right away and our dumplings came out in about a short 15 minutes! Thank goodness! We ordered the pork and chive dumplings(12 pieces) and crispy cream cheese wontons(6 pieces). Their dumplings are hand wrapped carefully and they are full of deliciousness! I will not lie, their sauce is totally what took this dumpling from good to «YAAAAAAAAAASSOGOOD.» All in all, I think this place has some consistently delicious dumplings, with some inconsistent service, and their dumplings are so good that they may run out sometimes.

Before I head back to Sacramento on 4÷16÷2016 during Picnic Day, I was heading to this small spot located in downtown Davis. «Dumpling House» brings the customers to taste their handmade dumpling in a delicious ways. As I entered their doors, the atmosphere is quite busy, and the concept is much like visiting to a former location spot like Squeeze Inn in Sacramento. The employees are doing a great job for making the customers like me a fine service despite the small bumps of customer’s orders confusions. No issues here so far. Now onto the dumplings! I ordered the pork and vegetables dumplings in a pan-fried cooking method. As I ate it, it tasted very good! I can feel the authentic flavors of the pork and vegetables all in one pack. Very chewable, eatable and satisfying. Parking at Dumpling House can be difficult to park. You can park at the nearest surface street parking if it’s available. Otherwise, you can also ride a bike, walk, or use public transportation easier without the hassles. In the end, Dumpling House is a great local Chinese café that I’ve ever visited for the first time to try their delicious dumplings. Perfect for friends and family gatherings! A worthy visit! My rating: 4 solid stars.

*review based on multiple visits in the past few years Dumpling House has been consistent for me since I’ve been in Davis. Their dumplings/potstickers are hefty, and you get a good number — 12 dumplings or 10 potstickers for ~$ 8. I haven’t had their other dishes in a while, but I think I remember wishing one of their vegetable plates was a larger portion. I do remember having a rice bowl with Chinese sausage once, and it was a little oily, but hearty and fairly balanced with rice, sausage, and broccoli. One of the workers is HILARIOUS, and she’s another reason I come. I didn’t see her the last time I was there(within the last week), but she always jests with customers and it’s great to watch and listen to — food and entertainment, what more can you ask for?

I love me some dumplings and this place definitely has some delicious ones. Stopped by here on the way to pick my pooch up from the sitter’s. Located near the university, it was pretty packed with not only college students but local families as well. Got there around 630(they closed at 830 that Sun evening) and they had already run out of pretty much all their dumplings and greens… Ughh… We had the choice of just plain pork, beef or chicken, so unfortunately I was not able to get the one I wanted the most! The kimchee pork dumplings! Noooo! They also ran out of their green beans, so we were left with broccoli. This wouldn’t have been a problem for me, but Kevin doesn’t like broccoli at all :-(. The lady actually told us it would take 2 hours if we wanted green beans. We both looked at the time and said, «so it’ll be ready when you guys close?» Lol. So we chose the pork and chicken dumplings. I got mine steamed and Kevin got his pan fried. The filling and dipping sauce was very delicious. My only complaint is that the wrapping is soooo thick. It’s a little less noticeable with the pan fried ones, but with the steamed dumplings I actually had to start ripping pieces of it off because I was just getting too much dough. Of course when you start doing that, it gets messy real fast. And that’s how you end up getting grease all over your favorite shirt and pants, argh! They also had home made soy milk which I absolutely love. It’s so smooth, creamy and not too sweet. It’s the only time I drink any kind of milk just by its self. Their home made soy milk was definitely up there in flavor with the ones I’ve had in Vancouver, Canada(and that says a lot!). We will definitely be back(at an earlier time :-p), I want to try their other dumplings really bad. It was definitely worth the 40 min drive, but I’d probably just stick with the pan fried dumplings next time. OR just wear clothes I don’t care about so I can rip off pieces of the steamed dumplings :-).

Yeah yeah this place like every other restaurant has flaws, but that’s besides the point of my review. This is place LEGITAF and there’s nobody that can convince otherwise. I’ve been dying to go here since the beginning of time and we finally made the trek out to Davis to try it out. After the first time, I was hooked and I mean making that 2 hour drive from the Bay just for some dumplings? That’s some commitment I have for this place. I tell everybody to swing by here for a pitstop especially if they’re in the area. With that out the way, Dumpling House is a staple in all Davis college students life, and mines as well and I’m nowhere close by. It’s been converted from an old fish and chips place into a dumpling place, BUT they still serve some banging fish and chips, as well as fries alongside with the signature dumplings. Cozy interior, but it’ll fit a group of 7. There’s also back patio seating, as well as front patio seating for a gorgeous day. The lady that takes your order is SUPER sweet and speaks good English(so you don’t have to worry). The menu is pretty simple so it makes it easier to order from. There’s the appetizers, boiled dumplings, fried dumplings, and veggies. My top choices are: Pork and Chives Dumplings Pork Potstickers Green Beans The portions are huge and definitely shareable if you wanted to, but I don’t like sharing. The best part is the house dumpling sauce that they make because that sauce is LIT! Food is already great here, but adding that to the mix will blow your mind. The boiled dumplings have thick skin but packed with proteins on the inside. The potstickers are of the same kind of dumplings, except crispy and fried on the outside for that extra crunch. I love the green beans since it comes with the fried garlic. They take care and cash here and have a variety on their menu. Be patient, they’ll get your order but it might take a while. It’s a small place but amazing food. Easy on the wallet, makes the stomach happy and full.

Last time we were here we had a less then average experience. This time Dumpling House def redeemed themselves. The server(assuming she’s the owner) was so wonderful! She was funny and joking around with us. This time around we got the pork chives dumpling pan fried and chicken shrimp dumpling deep fried. Food as usual is amazing ! Totally recommend sharing since its 10 – 12 dumplings per order depending on what you order.(They’re pretty big imo) There’s a limit to spend if you want to use card(but that’s normal for small business) so bring cash!

One of the very few places in Davis that keeps its quality up and the price still stays the same. Their dumplings are large, juicy, and filled with stuffings! You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Reason for 4 instead of 5 stars: The restaurant seating is super tight and sometimes the water being served is oily, maybe they just didn’t clean the cups well.

The Dumpling House in Davis is just a gem. This tiny and basic restaurant in downtown Davis specializes in homemade Asian dumplings and fish and chips — a legacy item from its former life. They are centrally located on E Street right near the Whole Foods. The menu is basic, but everything is done well. You can choose steamed, pan fried, deep fried, or soup to enjoy the dumplings. The fillings are pork and shrimp with a vegetarian option. I prefer the Pork & Chive Dumplings pan fried. You get a nice crispy bottom with a steaming top — which is always a good combination. The generous portion comes with a house sauce that compliments the dumplings perfectly. The décor is dated with cramped seating, but the food comes very fast and is a great value. There is outside seating available when the weather permits. I try and hit them up whenever I pass through and recommend it for that dumpling fix.

I definitely wished I check this place out while I attended UCD. This place is on E street and you can easily find parking. It is a combined business, known as both the Dumpling House and London’s Fish and Chips We came in on Ash Wednesday, of course for seafood because we couldn’t eat meat. We were seated right away. This place is quite small and their menu is not too overwhelming. We ordered the calamari appetizer and the 2 piece fish and chips. The calamari was well battered and the pieces were a good size. They had a little hint of sugar and provided a soy dipping sauce with a taste of ginger and chili. The fish pieces were HUGE! I thing 1 piece is enough for 1 person. Their tartar sauce was probably the creamiest I’ve tasted. I am for sure going to come back to try the dumplings!

Dumpling House, I love you. I always get cravings for this place and every time I come, I’m never disappointed. The older ladies that work here are always super nice and welcoming. I always order the Pork & Chive dumplings — 10⁄10 would recommend. You could even get it fried for an extra $ 1. Each plate comes with 12 dumplings and two little pots of sauce that tastes amazing. Like, amazing.

Simply delicious dumplings. That is what it is. And I love and respect it’s simplicity. This place just gives off a vibe that makes you feel at home. The grandma who runs the place is so nice and adorable. She just seems so proud of what she has here and it is something to be proud of because these dumplings are bomb! Lol. I ordered the beef dumplings and calamari. My friend ordered the chicken and shrimp dumpling and also the pancake. Everything was delicious. It came out quick, hot, and these dumplings are pretty big. I can eat a lot but these filled me up nicely. Everything is fairly priced and they also sell fish and chips if you’re into that. But it is called the Dumpling House for a reason, so give those a try. You won’t regret it!

One of the restaurants I still crave even after graduating Davis. When you’re really hungry and you don’t want to cook, you can just go here. Comfort food that’s cheap and will fill you up. Located next to Sophia’s, you have to go up the stairs or on the side to enter. I really enjoy the pork and chives(owner’s favorite) and corn and chicken dumplings. I get them pan fried(extra $ 1 I believe) for the extra crunch. I don’t think you can go wrong with any dumplings, really. And you won’t have to deal with the dumpling drama from the Davis For Sale page lol. My favorite part is the sauce, tangy and sweet and salty. I’m never able to finish an order(they give you a good amount) and I always ask for extra sauce to go. Service is a little slow, but dumplings are made in-house so you’re going to love them.
