Sigh. Of course these guys are closed now. I will miss those seasoned chips, and having options nearby.

As of 6⁄22 this place has shut down. There is a For Lease sign in the window and according to their Facebook page they are out of business for good. Sad since yesterday when I discovered this, 4 different cars full of people pulled up to eat there in the 10 minutes I was in front of the store. They could have had a restaurant full of customers yesterday!!! Hope they come back, either in a truck or a brick-and-mortar. I want my green chili pork!!!

LOOOVE this place. I’ve tried a couple of their items and always go back wanting the nachos and the chicken quesadilla. Christie and her husband are awesome! At times service can be a bit slow, but it’s so clear that they are trying their best and really appreciate you when you come in. Every time I go in, a change has been made for the better. This place has heart and soul, and I would much rather support them over any other taqueria/mexican chain like Moe’s or Willy’s. All of their toppings are fresh and don’t have that weird smell like my leftover Moe’s sometimes does the next day. Be good to your body and your local community and go here! PS, they now have nights in which proceeds go towards a community cause.. . they had a fundraiser for a local school the last time I was in.

Went here for the first time last night and loved the experience. It is terrific seeing people who love what they do as is the case with the owner of Nacho Mama’s. Staff was extremely friendly. Service was quick. And the food was terrific. I had chipotle chicken nachos which were quite flavorful. My wife had a veggie burrito which was huge and she said was very good. My son had a chicken quesadilla which he devoured. The only thing that would make this place better is getting their liquor license. Can’t wait to go back.

Y’all listen here… I’m a Texan, born and raised, displaced in Atlanta. I know good tex mex. Warning: If you like Moe’s or other knock off tex mex places then stop reading because you will not like this place because you’ve accustomed yourself to the crap that non texans are trying to copy and you’re just pathetic and I don’t trust you. The owner of Nacho Mama’s is a Texan. He knows what he’s doing. This place is great. Rule #1: it’s called QUESO! Not cheese dip! They got great queso that they’ll smother your burrito in. Sounds messy. Well it is! Because life is messy but as most texans know, queso covers a multitude of sins and it will satisfy your soul. Nacho Mama’s gets that. Auntie T will greet you with a smile and would probably jump over the counter and hug you if you needed it. I felt back home the moment I walked in. If you’re still not convinced it’s because you’re probably listening to nickleback in your PT cruiser right now sketching your new tribal tattoo idea. Please do not drive over to Nacho Mama’s and eat there because I don’t want to sit next to you while enjoying my perfect Carne Asada Burrito!

Came all the way from Marietta to see what all the buzz is about. The«lone shopping cart» near their store and the 3 abandoned buildings should have been a good foreshadowing of my experience but I will try anything once! Staff was very kind however they were very slow at making the food. Garnishes and toppings were not stocked. People behind me were fussing. I ordered an ultimate burrito. It fell short of «ultimate» because 3 of their toppings were out. After getting my order, the burrito itself was«edible» however not amazing by any stretch. I can easily say a MOE’S burrito is 5x better and less dry. For the $ 14 my meal came to w/drink and chips, it was not worth the drive nor the money. Typically little mom/pop places are hidden gems, but this place should just be hidden all together. For the price and quality, it was not worth the 1 hour drive. If you are local, it’s worth a try but maybe I just came in on an ‘off’ day. Good luck!

WARNING: This review is a huge rant. I went here for Cinco de Mayo last night with my boyfriend because we saw their deal on Groupon. We literally had to wait 5 – 10 minutes for their order to be done, because they were very understaffed for the night. When one of the young men working there FINALLY got to me, he realized that he had no steak, so I had to choose a different meat. He then stopped my order and proceeded to go to the grill to cook the steak. He then realized that he was out of rice and beans. Ummm… REALLY?! That made me wait another 5 – 10 minutes and the customers behind me are impatiently waiting for their orders. My boyfriend got irritated so he said«You know what, just put the toppings on and then bring us the rice and beans when you’re ready.» So we walk over to the toppings, and they weren’t prepared for even the toppings. The other worker that rang our order up was busy talking on the phone trying to call his manager up to come to the taqueria. Okay. So FINALLYMYFOODWASREADY. TWENTYMINUTESLATER. The guy that rang us up made a comment saying that he thought that the night was going to be slow and he wasn’t expecting as many customers. AREYOUKIDDINGME?! It’s Cinco de Mayo! If I was their manager, I would fire these workers for making my boyfriend and I wait so long. It was so bad that a good group of the line behind us left to go somewhere else, out of rage. Now that I wrote about their shitty customer service… let’s talk about the food. I was actually impressed with the food. The spices from the meat and salsa came together nicely. The chips were delicious and had some nice spices on it as well. But overall, I’ve been to many taquerias much better than this one. This review is 2 stars simply because there were only TWO workers working at the taqueria, and I had an unpleasant experience. I’m sorry, I won’t be coming back to this place until they get their act together. I’d much rather save my money for something better.

Wow!!! BESTCHICKEN tacos in Decatur and maybe Atlanta. Seriously, this was delicious! The chicken was seasoned perfectly and could have been eaten alone. The tacos had chicken, cilantro, cheese, and beans. I had pinto beans. I love black beans, but I love pinto beans too. They were great. They were not super mushy. The chips were lightly salted and were fresh and crisp, but not at all greasy. Oh, and the salsa. It was smoky and flavorful too. This is a great place to grab some food and head outside or eat inside. It is kind of hidden in a rundown looking shopping center which will soon be redone to welcome new business. I don’t usually go to a place again if I have not been at least a little pleased. I needed to give this place another try, and am so glad at I did!!!

OMG this is so good. I drove past so many times and finally decided to stop! The owner wife was so nice. It’s family run and well run and clean! Fresh ingredients. Pablano sauce is great as are all chicken and pork tacos. Nothin fancy here but fresh ingredients, friendly staff.

We purchased a deal off of Amazon local for this place. It is a little hard to find since it sits back off the road in a shopping center that looks closed. I’m glad we decided to give it a try. I ordered the ultimate quesadilla with jalapeños. It is definitely better than Moe’s. Give it a try you won’t be disappointed.

Fantastic food, every time I’ve been — though it’s generally slow. The prices are right, it’s family-friendly, and portion sizes are good. Staff could help educate patrons on food a little bit better, but LOVE the way they support and give back to the local community and am glad to support an independent business in this area!

We were across the street at the mall and saw this place on Scoutmob and decided to give it a try. Overall, it was okay, but the temperatures were well under what they should be. They keep their meat in a container, over what I assume is a warmer. But when the container is full, the meat on top isn’t getting the heat it needs. My youngest got a beef taco and my oldest got the shredded steak burrito. The flavors of both were really good; the temp was the only issue. I got a chicken & cheese quesadilla, which was really good. Since it’s cooked on the flat top, it was hot and oozing with cheese! Prices are a little on the high side, but not too much. If I were in the area and it was still on Scoutmob, I would consider giving it another shot, but it’s not at the top of the list.

A welcome addition to the neighborhood and the service was great along with the price being right but they have a little work to do to distinguish themselves as a taqueria in my opinion. Not having any seafood or carne asada available really threw me off as ground beef tacos isnt really why im going to get mexican food. I really want this place to succeed so I hope they will take my feedback and look at adding more traditional options to seperate themselves from a moes or chipotle. If you’re looking for monster nachos or a rice bowl this would be your stop but i definitely come to a mexican place expecting some more traditional selections.

A taqueria a stone’s throw from my house — nice! The hubby and I ate here this afternoon and were surprised we’d never heard of its opening until we checked Scout Mob(great deal, btw) but then again, we’ve never really paid attention to that blighted shopping center since moving here in 2007. The service is incredible as other Unilocalers have attested to. I LOVE supporting local businesses, especially one in our back yard so I’ll just put this out there — Nacho needs to distinguish itself from other Tex-Mex places in the area. Everyone knows Decatur is a foodie haven(ie Southern Living recently) so you really need to distinguish yourself in order to be successful. RUNDAILYSPECIALS. It’s what we feed on, pun intended, and I would have paid $$ to get a tamale instead of a quesadilla. Loved the choice of music too. O o +

When I walked in, I was pleasantly greeted by two nice gentlemen that explained the menu to me and what and how much food I can get. They made sure to tell me what all the toppings were and what was free and what cost extra. The house nachos were excellent and enough for two people to share! My only complaint is it was a little pricey, but worth it.

Red chili pork tamale was flavorful and substantial. Same with the green chili taco. Plenty of well– seasoned meat. The roasted salsa was delish. Don’t let the empty parking lot fool ya. This place is the real deal. Better than Moe’s

Okay, they get an extra star for service, effort and being local. The reality is their food isn’t what one would call authentic, the menu is limited but I am willing to come back and try more out. One BIG complaint though; their chips have this funky seasoning, reminiscent of Doritos! Please, do away with the seasoning. What authentic Mexican restaurant has oddly seasoned chips like that?! It takes away from the flavor of the salsa or nachos. Anyways, awesome service!

And an update– I went back in today for lunch. A couple other folks were in there. One got the nachos, another got the quesadilla, and both looked fantastic. The folks working there were extremely friendly and patient and guided guests through the menu. Last time I noted that i thought the pico, beans, and lettuce made the tacos too watery. This time I opted to change that. I went with a fiesta chicken and red rice taco, and a ground sirloin taco. Both were on corn tortillas with cilantro, onion, fresh jalapeño, and a dash of salsa. The taste of both tacos was fantastic. Without the juicy tomatoes/lettuce/beans the flavor of the meat was brought out a lot more and the salsa added the right amount of kick to them. I’m usually not the biggest fan of ground sirloin tacos as there are a lot of things that could go wrong there, but these folks have done it right. The chicken was also seasoned just about right. I’m really looking forward to trying their chipotle chicken next time it’s available. The difference in the tacos from my first experience was vast, and I even thought my first tacos were ‘pretty good’. Next up, I’m going to retry the first taco meats with the toppings of the second tacos. I also got another tamale, it was still amazing. Just get one with a little salsa and you’ll be hooked. I’m still bummed about lack of alcohol and the somewhat limited hours– but i can get over myself and drag my friends here when they’re open and then make margaritas and pop tecates at home.

I feel bad about this because the woman was really nice but this was probably the worst bunch of tacos I have ever had. I ordered a 2 taco combo and got green chile chicken and carne asada on tortillas. This comes with chips and salsa. The salsa was the best part of what I ate. I ate the green chile chicken taco first. It had started falling apart immediately and I just figured that’s because it held juicy shredded chicken. It wasn’t very flavorful like I’d have expected from something with green chile in the name, but it was fine. The carne asada taco on the other hand… I picked it up and it came apart. So I decided hopefully nobody is watching, since I have no fork, and pick up a piece of steak and eat it. I had to spit it back out. I tried another piece hoping maybe that one was just bad, but no, the steak is horrible. The entire thing was inedible. So I paid $ 8 for one mediocre taco and one I couldn’t eat and ruined my appetite for any chips and salsa. And my stomach hurt for hours afterwards too which is really fun when in class. Sorry, Nacho Mama’s. I picked you out based on your name but if I have the opportunity to eat before class at the trucks at Underground again, I can’t say I’ll be coming back.
