Awesome food, average service. She threw the straws at us which was odd and everyone working there looked like they wanted to be somewhere else. The food was awesome, one of the best wedge salads out there and the black bean burger was super tasty. The Mexican corn was also a favorite along with the bright atmosphere and many TV’s. We watched a Braves game while eating!

Ordered food. Been one hour haven’t even received our appetizers. Now we have been waiting over 15 minutes to see a manager. AC doesn’t work. It’s cooler outside. Been to a lot of taco Mac’s and this one in the past. Probably worst service ever. Poor management. Update: hostess asked manager to come four times. Still decided not come see us.

There’s a reason why this restaurant’s average rating is only 2.5 stars! My friends and I came to celebrate one of our friends’ birthdays and had the WORST experience ever! We waited for over an hour for the appetizers, foods, and drinks but nothing showed up. When we asked the hostess if we could speak to the manager, the hostess could not find the manager for over 20 minutes. When she finally found the manager, the manager started giving the hostess an attitude and refused to speak to us.

Okay so I have been to several Tmacs around Atlanta and honestly this is one of the most difficult to A. Find parking and B. The speed seems really slow. Yes granted it was the night of the NBA finals game but it was early enough and how empty it seemed. the speed of service was slightly unimpressive. I saw several waitresses seem to not know where the food was supposed to go and overall seemed a lack of communication. That being said the food was cooked really well and tasted good as usual and of course the usual high selection of draft and beer. Our server did at least seem apologetic about things being a bit hectic and all so three stars overall.

I try to only leave good reviews, but I can’t with how many bad experiences we have had here. We always seem to give this place another chance thinking that our past experiences were just a fluke, but the service is consistently VERY slow(our last visit was over 2 hours long) and the servers are not friendly. Our last server had a bad attitude and was very rude and questioned our orders when we had told her that it came out wrong twice. However, the bartenders are always very sweet and fast. Please save your time and money and get a better experience from any of the other wonderful restaurants in Decatur!

Good food love the goat cheese and apple flatbread. Service for lunch on a Thursday not the best and restaurants not full?

My second visit to TacoMac Decatur was markedly better than the first. We were the first customers of the day at 11 a.m. Our bartender Aubry was fabulous and very knowledgeable about the craft beers and the menu. Her beer recommendations were spot on. We tried two styles of chicken wings today and one was a hit, the other struck out. The original wings in hot sauce were very good though they probably wouldn’t standout from other restaurants’ versions of hot wings. Audry brought us a side of Habanero BBQ that she thought we’d like and she was right. It added a new dynamic to both wing styles. We also tried one of the new dry runs, the Korean Black Garlic wings. Audry very thoughtfully indicated that the menu picture which shows a sort of blackened, glazed, and peppered isn’t a true likeness but she said they were her favorite. They weren’t mine. The wings looked like a regular cooked chicken wing with a dusting of spices and pepper. In fact if it weren’t for the pepper, they looked a lot like the menu picture of the salt and vinegar dry rubbed wings. Though warned, I was expecting a more Asian flavor even though the menu clearly indicates they are dry rub so it’s probably hard to infuse that flavor I was hoping for, fortunately the Habanero BBQ on the side made them very palatable. At the end of the day, good customer service can make up for food I didn’t love. Both Audry and the manager Tyler came by to check on our food and were empathetic when I said I didn’t like the wings. Tyler offered to substitute something else for the wings we didn’t like but we declined. Tyler does a great job of making sure the trains are running but I also appreciate him taking the time to engage us and talk beers, cars, and sports. When my wife was ordering her second beer, Audry suggested she«try it first» as she wasn’t sure my wife would like it based on their discussion and she was right again, it was a little sour and wifey hated it. Score another one for good service and paying attention to the customer.

It amazes me how slow their service can be sometimes. I went with a group of friends on Friday night and it wasn’t too busy; we sat for a couple minutes before they took our drink orders, but took them over an hour before they came to take our food orders.

Ugh this place. The beer list is good and they’ve got tons of tvs. I go in expecting mediocre service and food, and they still manage to disappoint nearly every time. We went last night to have drinks with friends during the pens/caps game. Despite being half empty, we had a 20 minute wait– that’s just weird on a Saturday night but we got drinks at the bar while we waited– NBD. The bartenders were the only redeeming part of our experience– prompt and friendly and did everything just right the first time. Those girls were great! Keep them on the team and have them train the others. And then we were seated. And we waited. And we eventually had to go ask for a server. «Do you guys not have a server? I’m pretty sure we have one for you.» Um, cool. So we get a server. He was very nice. He was not effective. Sometimes drinks arrived that we had not ordered(we drank them). Sometimes he disappeared for extended periods and we had to ask for things at the bar. Sometimes his failings as a server brightened my day. He brought out our nachos, but no plates or utensils. I asked if we could have silverware and he brought just one set to me.(No messy nacho toppings for you– spouse and friends. Everything the chili touches is MINE!!!) The ridiculousness of that actually kept us entertained for a while, so I’m not mad about it. What I was kinda mad about were my tacos. They were cold(I expected that) and mediocre(expected that, too). And then when I got down to the last taco, I took a bit of Windex-flavored fish. Maybe the breading looked streaky? The taste was strong with that one. It looks like customer service is responsive on Unilocal to negative reviews, but they don’t seem to be making changes at the restaurant or corporate level since these issues aren’t unique to last night or this location. Everyone in Decatur serves good beer– surely we can find somewhere else to watch sports games. The comedy of it all wasn’t worth the service or food. EDIT– As soon as I posted I remembered the bug! My friend’s beer came out with what looked like a piece of parsley stuck on the rim, but it was actually a fruit fly. We saw it before the server left and he did promptly replace her beer(seriously the fastest he moved all night). I can’t believe I forgot about that, but it was so the least of their issues.

I should’ve known better when I got here and the manager spoke to 3 different complaining customers… Customer service here is TRASHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH … It’s ridiculous. Food came out cold, service was so slow. Never will come here again.

We work very close to TMac and have come here many many times over the years. The percentage rate of having a very good dining experience is probably 80⁄20. Unfortunately, the lower number represents 20% of the times we’ve been here that we do have a good experience from start to finish. Today’s lunch was another time to add to the 80% of bad experiences. We had 4 in our group today. We arrived around 12:30 and the place was maybe ¼ full, if even that. The host was very nice, greeted and sat us right away. Our waitress showed up promptly and took our drink orders, which we all had water. We needed a couple more minutes to decide on our food and she kindly came back after this time and took our order. Three of us ordered salads and one person in our party ordered a burger and fries. Pretty simple right? Our seemingly simple order took over 30 minutes to arrive at our table. During the time we waited, we noticed another table that came in after us receive their food before us. Their food wasn’t anything«simpler» to make than ours. It looked like 2 burgers. The waitress came by a few times while we were waiting and each time said our food was coming or would be out soon. I never once saw a manager on the floor. If I had, I would have waved them over to let them know 30 minutes to wait for food during lunch, well anytime for that matter, is not acceptable. But it’s just worse when it’s lunch time and people need to get back to work. I know I probably could have asked our waitress to have the manager come over but I’ve also done this in the past and never got any satisfactory responses to why our food is cold, why our food took so long. Then there’s the time my friend asked why it was so hot in the restaurant and the manager said«its way too hot outside to be able to get it cooled down in here.» I have to say the only consistently positive thing here is always the host/hostess on duty. They’re the only ones that seem to be trained well and can show good customer service. I have been around the restaurant business all my life. Growing up my parents had restaurants which I worked in, and now my husbands family runs a restaurant. With this being said, I have certain expectations of any restaurant I visit. I know what a well run restaurant, with great food and great customer service should be like. I always give establishments more than 1 chance in case I might have visited on an «off» day, but when time and time again over several years, the bad visits outweigh the good visits, it’s a pattern of bad management. I’m giving them a 1 star rating because of all the previous mishaps on top of today’s final episode. Unfortunately, this TMac may have lost our patronage for good this time.

Sure, this place looks nice after the renovations(except for the floor which they kept untouched)…but service and food were off. I came to watch a GSW game, to have a beer or two, and maybe snack on something. I waited over 10 minutes before being asked if I wanted a drink… and I was sitting at the bar… between two other people who were conversing with the bartender. There really weren’t many people there at all aside from the three of us at the bar. After I finally get an order in…(just a drink and a side of fries)…it takes another 15 – 20 minutes to actually get my beer… and then another 10 – 15 minutes after that to get… COLD, HARD Fries. Blech. While I’m watching the game and enjoying my beer… I get the check when I’m only halfway through the fries… and I was planning on getting another beer. The game I was watching was nowhere near over. WTH? Just tell me straight if you don’t want me there, OK? I don’t have to patronize your joint because you aren’t the only game in town. I’m going out of my way to find another late night spot with TVs to watch sports… like Twains. Bye.

Shorted Me A Wing. The place is laid out pretty good. TV’s everywhere. The food was good for bar food. The only ding is I ordered 10 wings and they brought me out 9. If I pay for a certain amount, I expect that to be delivered. I ordered my wings baked. I would recommend if you get them baked, tell them well baked or they’ll be rubbery. I would come back again, but armed with this info.

I cannot believe I am writing a review for taco mac but here goes: I live across the street and sometimes when its late at night and I’ve had a long day at school I order chicken strips from here to eat while watching netflix. I mean, I’ve done this three times in the last year and a half and its always the same. Takes forever and the food is sort of meh. I know I know its my own fault for continuing to do this but I so want there to be a good junk food place I can stumble into late at night. The waitstaff is always overworked; it doesn’t matter if its a slow night or busy night. They’re friendly and pleasant but its clear that they simply cannot simultaneously handle the phones, customers, to-go orders, etc. Tonight, they handed me the wrong order. Just totally not what I ordered. I ate it anyway because I was already at home. I had been waiting at least 15 minutes from the time they said it would be ready so of course the food was cold and the fries were all gummy and dry. Bleh. I probably didn’t need to eat them anyway. Why do I keep coming back? When the chicken strips are good, they’re good… and its convenient because they’re literally across the street and don’t close till like, midnight. I wouldn’t make a special trip for this place and I certainly wouldn’t recommend it to my friends. Just thought I’d let the public know what to expect when they come here.

Taco Mac, all time college favorites, is located in various places around Atlanta. For some, this place can be a plain one of those sport bars, but for others, Taco Mac is a place of memories and fun. Freshman year in college, I used to go to Taco Mac for late night snacks every other nights. I just really love their wings.(I even enjoy eating the extreme hot flavor, dipped in their ranch for blue sauce). Lemmon pepper and buffalo flavors are so yum. Make sure to order enough celeries to enjoy better. Taco Mac’s burger/Nachos/quesadilla/french fries/sweet potato fries are all good. It is classic american food. The place has tv screens all over the walls with various sports channels on. Great place to watch games or hang around with big crowds. Sometimes your orders can be late, but most of the times, servers are great!

I go to Taco Mac to watch hockey, and it is surprising how hard that is to do. Multiple times they haven’t been able to find the game I want to watch, and that has included college basketball! It is frustrating the lack of variety of games they default to showing — frequently I can see the *same* game on 6 different televisions at once(without moving my head). The food isn’t that great, especially by Decatur standards. There are better places around for wings or burgers; none of their appetizers are especially fun for snacking. While they have a big selection of beer — and I do love their Brewniversity point system — much of the beer I don’t want to drink(coors, miller, etc). Their«good» selection ends up being on par(or worse) than every other joint in town. The biggest downside is the service. I don’t want to knock the individual servers — most have been friendly — but the service is typically very slow. The last time I came in, it was about 10 minutes before someone took my food/drink order. It was another 20 before he told me they couldn’t find my hockey game. My server seemed busy the entire time, though the restaurant wasn’t that busy. They possibly just need more servers… and someone who is better trained on finding sports games on the televisions. Last year they could at least find my hockey games; since that isn’t happening now, I’m unlikely to go back.

This is the worst Taco Mac I’ve ever been to. I’m surprised it’s still in business in city of Decatur of all places. The service is terrible and so is the food. My margarita came out tasting like lemonade. My daughter’s boneless lemon pepper wings were so damned salty. The grilled chicken ranch wrap was bland. We had to dip it in extra ranch just to be able to eat it. Not ever coming back here!

This Taco Mac has improved a lot since the last time I was in there. It underwent a massive facelift inside and it looks a hundred times better for it. My fiancé and I went there last weekend for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We came a little past the normal lunch hour, but the place was still about half full of people eating. There’s a big bar now that fills up the right side of the restaurant as you enter, a party room that’s got glass walls for private events, a couple of long communal tables for diners, booths and lots of tables. As usual, there’s tons of TVs, tons of beer on tap and a generally modern feel to the inside courtesy of the facelift. We decided to get a southwest chicken wrap for me and 20 wings and mac and cheese for my fiancé. When the food came out, the wings were served on two platters with two sides of mac and cheese, almost like a second full meal(which he was happy with since we took it home and had it as a full meal later), and my wrap was good too. It was quite saucy with T-Mac’s signature sauce though, so I dripped my way through the first half of the sandwich then used a fork and knife for the other half. The sauce was also really hot, hotter than I remember, but maybe that’s because it was liberally applied. Regardless, the food was pretty good, the inside was a big improvement and it was overall a good experience for a Taco Mac.

I was initially bitter my boyfriend dragged me here on a Friday night(the menu here is not exactly ideal for me), but I was pleasantly surprised when I got here. The hot wings were pretty good(though we should definitely get the spiciest sauce they offer next time). However, the service was slow and the fries they offered as a side were neither warm nor crispy — two prerequisites for good fries.
