There was a wait/line for Breakfast on a Saturday morning which fortunately moved quickly. Unlimited coffee and tea was a plus. Veggie Omelette in Egg whites was tasty. Big portion though and couldn’t finish it. My friend like her Omelette with Beef. Unlimited coffee and tea is a plus. Seems like a local favorite. Saw lots of families with kids.

Horrible place. This was going to be my family’s first time going and we left because we were so badly mistreated. The line was long and extended outside. I opened the door to go in and the line was huge. No one made an effort to let us in and we were told to close the door and wait outside. I was horrified at how rude the customers in line were. They also yelled to close the door and that the hostess told them to tell us. Spoke to the manager Spiro he was equally as rude. I am awaiting a call from the owner Barbara. Would never go there.

Dear 50’s Diner, I like you. Do you like me too? Y /N ? Fantastic atmosphere with great wall decorations. I especially like the old telephone booth that houses an ATM. The music is always awesome too, as it should be. Total A+ for ambiance/atmosphere/sticking with the theme. We were sad to learn the fried dough was only on weekends, but we finally made it back on a weekend to bask in the basket of glory. I wish there was cinnamon on them, but even without it this was some really delicious fried dough. The breakfast foods and sandwiches are always good. I feel like they have some sort of magic they use to cook the bacon. It is always perfect: a little crunchy, a little soft/juicy, a lot of awesome. We always encounter very nice, smiling staff members here, always a plus.

This place has been my fav for a long time. Gino is the best. There is open sitting at the bar so if you are waiting in line be sure to check the bar area first. For singles like me I almost always find a seat there.

We’ve been customers for 15 yrs & love it. Fun 50’s atmosphere, great servers, owner Spiro always on scene & upbeat, & excellent food, of course. Great coffee, too. They have also been a good business neighbor, donating to charitable causes.

This is a cute little fun diner. Food quality should be higher. Home fries are almost always bad on every visit, varying from being dark brown to burnt or being hard as a rock and undercooked. They focus more on quantity than quality. Staff is always so friendly and pleasant though!

This is a great breakfast option in Dedham. Located on Route 1, it is a little hard to figure out how to get to it but once you do, it is worth It. Waitstaff is attentive and regularly fill up coffee mugs. Every time we have been for breakfast, the servers have been nice. With this, the lines of people waiting to experience the food are generally out the door. Food portions are huge. The food is tasty too. They prepare their own homemade corned beef hash and it is probably one of the best things on the menu. Their pancakes are also large. This diner has a 1950’s theme. This place isn’t glam but it is good for what it is — hot, tasty, satisfying breakfast.

Really? Who seats guests right next to the single person bathroom?! I’m hoping nobody takes a healthy while I’m trying to eat. So annoying.

I don’t just give five stars willy-nilly. But man, The 50’s Diner is definitely deserving. I had to physically restrain myself after receiving the Fried Dough basket — first, because my breakfast companion was finishing giving her son a bottle and I had to save some for her, but second, because I didn’t want to look like a fat lunatic with greasy lips and powdered sugar schmeared across my face. I may have looked like that anyway. The butter that comes with is a little salty and frankly, I didn’t think the fried dough needed it. If I came and ordered it again, I would say you should ask for the butter on the side so you can portion control. I then followed that up with an attempt to eat slightly healthier and I ordered an egg white hash omelet. No toast. No potatoes. Just a plate of sliced tomatoes on the side. It was a perfect omelet. Perfect. Not overcooked and dry. The tomatoes on the side were still slightly under-ripe, but I ate them anyway. I really liked the hash and I didn’t have any trouble with what others have mentioned. Hash never looks appetizing… so I wouldn’t ever consider judging it on appearance alone. I thought it was good hash — tasted great. I didn’t even salt the omelet so for me, there was plenty of flavor. Good service, my coffee cup was never empty. Two breakfasts plus the fried dough came to about $ 33.00. Worth it. Additionally, I had the opposite experience of some other reviewers on here… even though there was a pretty hefty line and my girlfriend and I definitely overstayed our welcome(probably a good 15 minutes after we paid the check)…we were NEVER pressured to leave our table. It was never even suggested. Sorry to those who were waiting, but thank you to the staff for letting us enjoy our catch-up breakfast!

Had breakfast here yesterday, Thursday at 930 am and had to sit at the counter. As always there is a wait to be seated. The place is always busy but the service is quick and efficient. I sat at counter and had coffee and water in a minute or less. The staff was friendly. The seats at the counter are spaced out enough to so that you don’t feel crowded by strangers, a good thing. I had my order taken and coffee refreshed minutes later. Again a good thing. The food was hot. Plentiful and cooked just right. This place is very good but can be a bit noisy. It is a CASHONLY business so bring cash or use their strategicly placed atm before getting the bill. Enjoy

I was in here yesterday during, apparently, a very busy time. I’d give this place 2 stars for the mediocre food, but the reason that it gets 1 star is because I’ve *never* been pressured to leave my table because(as the waitress told me), «I’ve got 10 people waiting». So let’s see… mediocre food and a waitstaff that melts down if there’s a line at the door(which I waited in too). WTF are you people doing in the foodservice business? I won’t be back, obviously, and kiss my ass. People don’t pay money to be treated like stray dogs. Idiots.

Great food, awesome décor, and a very friendly staff. Came right around noon but they serve lunch all day so my friend got the 50’s Special Platter which is A LOT of delicious food. The Texas toast French toast was easily some of the best French toast I’ve ever tried. I had one of their specials, an egg salad sandwich, which was good but needed to have a bit more of the egg salad on the sandwich as it felt like there was too much bread. The coffee was also spot on. All in all a fantastic diner and I would love to come back soon!

As someone who doesn’t eat breakfast very often — I LOVE The 50’s Diner! Pros: — Big portions — Friendly staff — Always come to refill drinks without being asked — Food comes out nice and hot! Cons: — Line the goes out the door by 9:30AM/10:00AM on the weekend(but the food is that good, it’s worth the wait!) — Cash Only!(Wish they would do credit cards it would just make it easier) Favorite Meals There: — Waffles(Strawberry & Banana) — Black & White Milk Shake — French Toast — 50’s Platter(My boyfriend always get this! Comes with endless refills of coffee!) — Home fries(I like to add hot sauce on them!)

Great omelets and fluffy pancakes for a decent price. Even if we had to wait in line half an hour, I walked away with a happy stomach and a happy wallet. I’ll definitely be back again.

I’ve been here twice. First time I got the 50s platter, which was no joke! I overestimated my ability to eat when I ordered this, but it was worth the collapse I had afterwards. Second time, I just stuck with the French toast and a side of sausage. Melt in your mouth goodness. I love their French toast and their butter deserves the spotlight too. Keep in mind that they only accept cash, fortunately there is an ATM in the back for clueless first timers(me).

2.5 stars The diner seemed to be very popular on a Sunday morning when I came in to meet a friend. There was a line out the door but we actually didn’t end up waiting for more than 15−20min. Once we got seated, I noticed two glaring things: 1. Fried Dough Basket. In bold print, in the middle of the menu. Calling my name. 2. Every single table(no exaggerations) had ordered a chocolate milkshake. Being a lover of all things donut, I had to try the basket. It’s basically about a dozen beignet-like pieces topped with powdered sugar and butter. Unfortunately I was just not impressed. Fried dough can be enough of a health hazard as it is, but the butter they added on top made it all pretty gross and in my opinion was totally unnecessary. If it would have just come with the powdered sugar I would have been much happier. The other food we ordered was pretty run of the mill, nothing special. Corned beef hash was standard for a cheap diner. We probably also should have ordered a milkshake but made the mistake of having too many fried dough pieces and were pretty sugared out at that point. Overall, it was definitely all-American type of place, no skimping on the calories. CASHONLY
