After my movie my friend and I wandered into the restaurant and had a pleasant experience. Our ice cream girl working 10pm on Wednesday made me the best frappé and the brownie was good too.

J.P. Licks is a lovely treat after a day of shopping! They offer a range of coffees, hot beverages, ice creams, and desserts. I appreciated the dairy free and sugar free ice creams– I got a delicious coconut banana dairy free ice cream. You could taste the freshness of the ingredients! Check out their seasonal flavors– including ginger snap molasses and el Diablo right now. Their hot chocolate is really yummy as well! You can get it made with a variety of milks(dairy, almond, soy, etc.).

This Boston classic is such an excellent addition to Legacy Place! A favorite nice-weather pastime of mine is walking around with a nice cone or cup of some ice cream, and I can do just that at Legacy. Ordered Chocolate ice cream with hot fudge and peanut butter sauces. Excellent portion size(a small cup got a heaping scoop plus more. And it was weighed, so they definitely consistently give this size!) and delicious texture and flavor! The hot fudge kinda clammed up and was hard to keep evenly distributed, but it still tasted good. I really prefer when hot fudge stays velvety smooth. My ice cream could have used more of the delicious peanut butter sauce(melted peanut butter, I bet!), so maybe next time I’ll have to ask for some more. The scoopers are friendly and quick, but without being fake-friendly. They offer samples if you are torn between flavors. There can be a line sometimes, but the scoopers are efficient and the line moves along! Some reviews have mentioned the strong, sugary smell of this JP Licks, and to offer a different perspective on this smell: it smells like excellent ice cream has been made! Go here! Yum!

If you want to eat average ice cream on a really dirty table while your shoes stick to the floor, go here. If you have to use the restroom, pray you have hand sanitizer and a hazmat suit. This place is disgusting. Shame on management!

So disappointed! Order my daughter’s 10th birthday cake, they messed up the order and made me pay for it.

I’m sorry to say but this is the worst JP Licks location. They are always out of favors on the soft frozen yogurt. I’ve never seen more than 3 available even though the list on the board has several. They are always out of some kind of topping too, peanut butter or fudge, etc. the other night they were out of every kind of cone except one type(waffle). I’ve gone several times over the last several months hoping it was a fluke, but I give up. The service also is horrible. It’s a bunch of teens and young adults who don’t give a crap. Sorry but this place really sucks.

Kids love the ice cream here but lost a point for cleanliness. Still highly recommend but do wish whenever I walk in it didn’t have that sickly smell you get at ice cream stores. Again, ice cream is great and JP Licks is a Boston tradition worth splurging on.

LACTOSEFREEOPTIONS! Anywhere I am able to get ice cream is a victory. I love the different choices, all lactose free options have been great! Service has always been great when I have been, but I’m usually there on off hours and not peak busy times. Keep up the great work and ice cream!

On the plus side, I like their iced coffee. And, I like that they provide a dairy free option, like a hemp based ice cream. So, that’s nice. I like that they are local. And, I have to say, one plus star just for how many of my friends seem to love them. But, I just cannot get over the fact that every JP Licks I go into smells like a dirty rag. It almost tastes like a dirty rag sometimes it smells so bad. I can’t.

Just went last night(Saturday night) and got 2 frappes. My friend got the cookie dough + cookies & cream frappé and I got the cookies & cream extra thick frappé. Both were delicious. It was my first time going here but my friend has been before. The line was long as it was the perfect time for dessert but it went so fast, we were in and out within 5 minutes and the workers were friendly! :)

I’m a big fan of JP Licks in general. For some reason though this location always has a wet dairy smell. I get that its an ice cream shop, but this has the slightly off odor that isn’t present in any other ice cream place i go to.

I love JP licks. I usually go to one in Boston, but when I found out they have one near southshore so I had to check it out. Everything was the same but bit busy with all the mall customers. I do wish they open one in Braintree.

I just have to say the manager with the beard there is extremely rude and so unprofessional. I know the products are good, but I had a coupon that I had called on the other day that I misplaced and spoke to a woman on the phone that said she would honor it… I went in there and got treated like I was coming from another planet. The gentleman hardly talked to me, would not give eye contact, and I heard him discussing with an employee how he thought I was there to take something on the counter!!! How absurdly rude and unprofessional. I was a frequent customer there. Now I will take my business elsewhere… just horrrible!!! uuugh

nothing special about the ice cream, service in this location is extremely slow. I remember going to JP Licks on Newbury Street in the 90s, before there was a lot of other ice cream places to go eat…(simpler times)…the line would be out the door, the place would be packed, but the service was quick. the people working at this location would never have been able to handle that kind of volume. there was one person in front of me today, and 2 people were getting ice cream(i went right to the register because i bought coffee) and somehow this transaction took me 10 mins. pathetic. kids — stop slacking behind the counter.

The ice cream is okay. It seems a little pricey for what you get. It seems pretty basic, for me there isn’t any wow factor. There is a nice sitting area outside if the weather is nice. My wife and I take advantage of it on the beautiful summer nights.

I often stop by J.P. Licks for coffee before work. They roast their own and it is quite tasty. Even better than the coffee is their homemade ice cream. Tons of delicious flavors that rotate seasonally. The ice cream is clearly marked with allergen information, which I always appreciate in a restaurant. If I’m in the area and craving a milkshake(which happens quite a bit), J.P. Licks is my obvious choice. In this particular location, in Legacy Place, the service can be hit or miss, which is why I chose to dock one star. There is usually only one, maybe two, employees behind the counter. Often it’s not a problem, but if you are in a rush for your morning cup of joe, it can be frustrating to wait. In the afternoons, the lines can get huge and there’s almost always a long wait. Regardless of this little hiccup, I love J.P. Licks and will continue to frequent this location and others!

Nice place to hang out for coffee or dessert on a weekday as it closes at 11pm. Lots of little tables here, though I wish it was more lounge-like. Located in the center island in this shopping center.

For the past 3 years my husband has gotten my birthday cake at JP Licks in Dedham. This year they royally screwed up the order and I ended up with a cake I didn’t like much(wrong flavors, wrong and very messy design, and no oreo crust as ordered). My husband contacted JP Licks about the issue and no one ever got back in touch with him. Talk about horrible service. I recommend that others take their special occasion orders elsewhere, particularly to an establishment that pays attention to orders, appreciates loyal customers and is quick to resolve an issue. I can’t support a business who isn’t willing to remedy a big – and expensive– mistake. Now on to planning where I’d like my hubby to order next year’s birthday cake!
