Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I’m glad the rest of DeKalb/Sycamore know this too. We arrived on a Saturday morning and boy was it packed! Despite that, we were seated right away. The ambience is a little less«hipster» than«Eggsclusive». «Egg Haven» lends itself to be more sophisticated. I ordered the Rutherford Omelette with their buttermilk pancakes and topped it off with some orange juice. My hubby ordered the Butcher Omelette with toast and ordered an iced mocha chaser to accompany that. The OJ was good. They have a machine that makes it fresh. So that, to me, is definitely worth paying the exorbitant price for. The mocha tasted like chocolate milk. No real coffee flavor. But it is nice that they have specialty coffee drinks. «Eggsclusive» lacks in that department. The Rutherford Omelette was kind of watery? It had bacon, goat cheese and spinach. The flavor was good but I wonder if they use frozen spinach instead of fresh? Which would lend to more water in the omelette. Not the greatest for texture though. I mentioned it to my waiter he and brought the cook out for me to talk to. He came out with another ENTIREOMELETTE(including hash browns)!! THAT says volumes about this establishment. I actually had originally rated this 4 stars but that bumped it to five. They obviously care about the food they serve – and the customers they serve it to. I was reassured nothing frozen had been used and that they always use fresh ingredients. Because I was so full from the hash browns and pancakes I didn’t have room for this other omelette as well. I’m looking forward to trying it. I will definitely come back here.

Wow– what a wonderful Valentines breakfast we just had. My husband and I love country fried steak– and theirs is possibly the best I have ever had. The sausage gravy is out of this world. Definitely homemade and not huge chunks of sausage– it was perfect. It came with hashbrowns that were freshly grated, two eggs, and a side of toast or pancakes. My husband got the toast and he really enjoyed the jam. This is the best spot in DeKalb to get breakfast hands down.

Prices constantly go up and the portion size of meat goes down. I paid $ 11 for a skillet and got maybe 4 pieces of meat. I complained and they did nothing about it. They read my message and ignored it.

First impression when I walked in was okay this place is set up nicely and looks clean. We ordered the fresco omelet which was good But the chicken California wrap was nothing really special and neither was the soup. Basically I have had better breakfast options in other areas. i guess for dekalb it’s not bad It’s not cheap and it’s not expensive. But again I have ate at better breakfast joints and paid a lot less –but not in dekalb area. U won’t not like it but u won’t not love it It’s really whatever.

The only time I ate there I received under cooked eggs and suffered food poisoning. I won’t be going back.

I was looking for a breakfast restaurant halfway between Marengo and North Aurora to meet an old friend whom I haven’t seen in awhile. Egg Haven popped up on Unilocal. We tried it and it was great. The serving staff was so friendly and accommodating for old friends to catch up and enjoy good food. The omelettes and breakfast skillets were tasty and the servings were huge! Highly recommend !

I absolutely love going to Egg Haven. It’s always the first place I suggest when going out for breakfast. The food is always great and the portions are large! I especially appreciate the new gluten-free options. The only downside is the prices.

On a very long drive from la we stopped at this great place !! the food was in huge portions ! I had the salmon eggs Benedict, I thought it would be a little thing. But was I wrong !!! It was a full fillet of salmon and two huge eggs ! All for like 13 dollars I believe ! and we had the waffles. They are also huge ! So come here ready to eat ! And on a empty stomach ! If you are driving into Chicago or live close I would very highly recommend coming here ! The food is large portions but very healthy and fresh ! it’s a little ways from the highway but it’s worth the drive !

My cousin and I stopped here before heading back home in Iowa. The food was amazing and so was the service. I wish we had this place back home! Very impressed and happy with our visit

Very good service, & very clean. I had a vegetable omelet, which was delicious, with hash browns and rye toast. I like the hash browns a little more browned, but they were ok. My wife had scrambled eggs, hash browns, and pancakes. She did not care for the pancakes, too heavy and grainy, as opposed to lite and fluffy. I thought the food overall was a bit pricey.

Best breakfast place around! The food is so good. The portions are huge and there are a lot of options to choose from. They have fresh squeezed orange juice that is amazing, and a fun machine that you can watch squeezing the oranges which the kids love. The staff is really friendly and always on top of things. It does get really busy, especially on Sundays so be prepared to wait. The lunch menu is equally as good as the breakfast menu.

Eggsellent choice for breakfast or lunch. Fresh squeezed OJ is delicious. All fresh ingredients in my omelette. Including plenty of avocado. This place is a machine in moving people in/out without feeling rushed. Server was friendly and non-intrusive. Compared to many greasy spoon options, I would definitely come back.

Would give it higher stars, but the greeter Gabbie was extremely rude when I walked in. How about get people who are considerate to guest when they come in? Just a thought…

Atmosphere Great family atmosphere with open seating that takes advantage of almost every square foot. The noise level is reasonable for a restaurant and the people are great. Both times I’ve gone Hailey(sp) has been the waitress that has taken excellent care of our party. From a general observation service is quick, accurate and beyond friendly. Food They have a good selection of omelets and skillets to accommodate any eater. I will say that I enjoy their skillets more than their omelets. The portions are good and most meals usually come with pancakes or toast and hash browns. The hash browns need a bit more flavor for my liking and the pancakes should be a bit fluffier IMHO but neither are bad by any means. Overall, this is a great family restaurant that offers great service and good food!

It’s breakfast, people. There is nothing special about how well the food here is made or how fast it comes out. It’s not bad – which is probably all that matters in a breakfast place. I usually avoid Egg Haven because(1) I can’t bring myself to pay somebody else to cook something as simple as bacon and eggs and(2) it’s crowded… REALLY crowded. Again, people, it’s breakfast.

If you like Egg Harbor, then you will enjoy Egg Haven. Similar menu items(breakfast overtone). Even though very crowded – the tables turn fast. Hostess and wait staff friendly and courteous. Food served quickly and hot ! Portions are nice size(we all had to-go boxes). Food was tasty! Treated my nephews to breakfast – go Huskies!

I like pretty much everything here. Fresh squeezed orange juice, great eggs benedict(my go-to dish at every breakfast/brunch restaurant). You do have to wait a little while though, but doesnt that happen every restaurant you go to? PS: They have neat tables that can transform from typical squared tables to round ones, giving you more rooms for more people.

Delicious food!!! I ordered the Southern Benedict. There was enough food for two in this meal. Most of the meals looked that way. It was served with hash-browns and was delicious! The fresh squeezed Orange Juice was GREAT too!!! If Im ever in the area again I will be back! The decaf coffee was actually really good as well :)
