After reading reviews and recommendations from local shop owners we stopped there for lunch. Unless the reviews are based on breakfast, the lunch/dinner is average at best. The soup… chicken pasta tasted like canned broth with overcooked shells. The salad the cucumber wasn’t peeled. Bread basket… the bread came wrapped in plastic bags. Entrees… son had chicken Alfredo tasted like pasta with milk, I had the fisherman’s platter the shrimp tasted like they were sitting around for awhile, last had a bite of my wife’s chicken Italiano… it was dry. Sorry but have to say… .Pass on it

It’s your classic small town diner. The food is good and VERY cheap(i usually pay around $ 6 – 8 per person, depending on what we get). Just be aware, weekend mornings it is PACKED. It has a nice feel, staff is friendly. Seating a little bit close together, but not terrible(i like a lot of space). It’s a small joint so that’s to be expected. Service is prompt and friendly.

Looking for a cute old fashion diner in a current updated beautiful setting, this is the place to go. Fast service, friendly staff and delicious food for low cost. My family of four ate here for $ 38 which is really reasonable for a sit down restaurant. They do not have gluten free breads or pasta, but let me exchange my bread for any other side I wanted(I ordered breakfast). Next time I will be trying dinner here!

I came here with my parents and husband for a Wisconsin Fish Fry on the Friday of the 4th of July weekend. We got to Elizabeth’s around 6:45 or so, and i expected a long wait. Much to my surprise(and delight), we were seated within minutes. A waitress appeared shortly to take drink/food orders. We all knew we were having the fish fry dinner. My parents got the senior deal, which was the fish fry, but not unlimited. My husband and I got the all you can eat version, not that I needed it. After the generous portion of fish, fries, and corn on my plate which was preceded by a cup of soup of the day, I barely had any room left for the dessert that came with the meal! Service was great. We were checked on often, and the hostess even came by a few times to ask if we needed anything and to see if our order was taken. The wait staff is nothing is not extremely efficient. My only knock is that there was no malt vinegar to put on the fried fish. Isn’t that a thing people do? Maybe it’s just an Irish pub thing? Prices are extremely reasonable too. My parents frequent here often, and I’m glad they brought me along that night for dinner.

Stopped in based on all the Unilocal reviews. We waited 10 min for a table. not bad at all during breakfast time on a Sunday morning… Food was fresh! Husband had some skillet with hash browns with diced green peppers and ham etc. Veggies were fresh! I had biscuits and gravy. the biscuits could have been done a bit more but gravy was delish! No complaints! Clean…staff were friendly. the hostess was doing a great job getting folks signed in and to their tables when they were ready! Will be back again!

I stopped here because of the Unilocal reviews. It lived up to the hype. I will return if I want diner food next time I’m in town. There were 5 of us and everyone’s orders were right in the first try. Serving sizes were plenty for any adult. Veggie breakfast burrito, hash browns, pancakes, grilled cheese, and 1×1×1 were all tasty. Service was friendly and fast. The menu was large. We were there on a Monday morning.

Best service, best food, best prices, friendly, fast efficient! My husband && kids have been coming here for over 10 years! They are a family owned business & treat all their customers like family! If there is a wait when you go, please know it is not only worth the wait BUT they seat you SUPER QUICK-they do not keep customers waiting. Consistent service & quality. American, comfort food & very flexible with any special requests. DONOT go anywhere else. As I tell my husband when we go there, why bother cooking, it is CHEAPER to eat at Elizabeth’s Café. They are incredibly low pricing.

Everything was good: Service, food and cleanliness. Came in for breakfast with a large party of nine. They allowed us to make reservations even though they usually don’t take reservations. However, since it was such a large party and the place is relatively small, we are glad they made accommodations for us. Our waitress Becky was super sweet and attentive. We ordered a variety of different dishes and everyone loved everything. The bacon was the bomb! And the portion sizes were huge. I am glad they allowed me to subsitute the home fries for fruit instead. And I’m usually not a fan of American cheese, however, it went so well with the omelet… I loved it. I highly recommend coming here for breakfast. You won’t be disappointed.

It’s not terrible for a small restaurant in a town that continues to suffer the debilitating effects of a downtown district in acute economic decline thanks to outlying big box retailers. But, it’s not great either. I think that the Sun Mist(across the street) is markedly better. Their menu is smaller, and they make more things fresh(BEWARE of small restaurants with too big a menu –they can’t make it all fresh). Sun Mist’s décor isn’t as nice/inviting(clean but early 90s art-deco revival) but the people are equally nice and I like their food much better. Sun Mist makes a mean hand packed burger and great soups among many other(fresh n’ homemade) things. Elizabeth’s is OKBUT — and here’s the big BUT — it depends what you order. Make sure to stick with things that are made on site. Breakfasts etc. Don’t venture too deep into the extensive menu, lest you find that canned/frozen goods taste the same in a restaurant as they do at home — bland. Another reviewer mentions chicken fried steak. I tried it, thought in WI it’s a staple a restaurant has to get right. I was wrong. It was bad. Salty and from a freezer pack no doubt. Plus it was served with the wrong gravy and box mashed potatoes with canned vegetables. NEVER serve chicken fried steak without country sausage gravy. It’s a disgrace. Others in my party had breakfast, they fared much better and I regretted not doing same. 2 or 2 ½ star food with 4 star service.

Quite possibly the worst restaurant meal I’ve ever eaten! I was ready to go back to the kitchen and either teach the cook how to cook or put him out of his misery. Nothing close to fresh! Clam chowder was a bowl of tasteless cornstarch gruel with 4 flecks of clam and 3 small potato cubes that I suspect came out of a can. Chicken fried steak was perfectly shaped, as I suspect were the others in that freezer bag. Canned gravy, corn, instant potatoes… and the kicker… chocolate pudding from a can. Yuck! I left hungry. Breakfast may fare better. Hopefully, they haven’t discovered powdered eggs. I’ll never know. I’ve scratched this one off my list for good!

While staying at the Abbey recently, we got our day started a little later than expected and unfortunately missed the breakfast cut off. You know the moment when you say… F’this! I’m on vacation and if I want eggs at noon… I should be able to have eggs at noon! While on our adventure to find such an establishment, we were told about Elizabeth’s. We plugged it into GPS and seated with coffee only 20 minutes later. They have a lot of options. I went basic eggs, bacon, toast, hash browns and a side of biscuits and gravy. The BF went with steak and eggs. Wow, I was impressed! Something so simple and they just knocked it right out of the park! Eggs perfect, bacon perfect, coffee overflowing and the BF had a nice steak that I enjoyed a bite of. Highly recommend this hole in the wall!!!

Trying to find good places to eat on a Sunday proved to be a challenge. Everything was closed except for this venerable café. They are open daily until 9:00 pm. We were greeted by the friendly hostess and sat in a comfortable diner booth. The menu is extensive! They have breakfast all day except for certain items, which they list. We ordered the Broasted Chicken special $ 6.99 and house skillet $ 6.95. Total $ 18.71 with tip! The special came with bread, choice of potato, and soup our salad. We chose the vegetable beef and hash browns. Excellent broth, good ratio of noodles, beef, and veggies. The broasted entrée arrived in a massive plate with four large pieces of golden crisp chicken with a side of mixed corn and carrots. The heaping portion of hash browns came on a separate plate. The skillet came with two eggs, your choice of style, and choice of toast, on top of diced fried potatoes. The chicken was GOOD! Succulent white meat with juicy crisp exterior. The eggs on the skillet were fluffy, and potatoes were crisp. The skillet had bacon, diced sausage, ham, peppers, onions, topped with shredded cheddar cheese. The toasts were thick and arrived buttered. This place is a great value. Don’t miss this little gem, serving up epic portions of home cooked, classic comforts!

A hidden treasure! I was recommended this small diner by a local and I had never been more glad to ask a stranger for advice ! The food was so good and the prices are very wallet-friendly. The service was super friendly and fast. we got extra water refills even when we didn’t need any. Their coffee was a tad watered down but made it up with all the countless refills. My boyfriend whom doesn’t like breakfast food loved this place and had been talking about it for weeks now. We tried their skillets with basted eggs and it was so yum. I wish I lived next door to this place! We would definitely visit again if we ever drive by again.
