Chapins is a very casual, reasonably priced restaurant. The food is excellent and you never leave hungry. There is a separate bar area for those just looking to drink and snack. In the summer they also have a raw bar next to the bar. My favorite dish is the baked scrod and their great French fries!

VERYBADEXPERIENCE. I have been to this restaurant dozens of times and never had any issues other than the higher than reasonable prices. When I pulled up I was verbally accosted by a valet. He was very rude and aggressive. I explained I gad been to the restaurant before and he replied,” I don’t care.” I left the restaurant and called the manager, Chris. He was equally unsympathetic on the phone. He stated that he had never got any complaints about the valet in question. BUTREADINGOTHERREVIEWS I SEETHATWASMENTIONEDBYATLEASTTWOOTHERREVIEWS. The manager belittled me on the phone and basically called me a liar. He basically hung up the phone on my after about three minutes. I WILLNEVERRETURNTOTHISRESTAURANTORRECOMMENDTHRMTOANYBODY I KNOW. Dinner was so so, waiter was nice but overworked. Took forever for service, served wrong request for wine. Sat for over an hour for check. Valet service was extremely rude because we had parked in the valet parking area even though we had been there for an hour prior to valet service beginning. Not recommended.

Just got off the dinner table. The food was good, it isn’t my family first dinner here. However we received really poor service from Ryan. First one of the salads never arrived, then we waited eternity to get the check, oh don’t worry about Ryan he included 18% gratuity. He though didn’t bother to clean the table and as it is a very windy day today and our table was outside — the plates and food kept flying. Very disappointing.

We went to Chapin’s for dinner last night. It wasn’t too busy and only took about 25 minutes to get seated on a Friday night during Labor Day weekend. We shared a fishermen’s platter and started off with the quahogs. The food was good and the waitress was great. We sat outside which was also nice. There were kids running and screaming right next to our table but that’s no fault of the restaurant. We also enjoyed the raspberry piña colada.

I am sad to say it’s time to adjust my initial feelings. Been going to Chapin’s for 9 years. It may be off the list now forever. Stopped at the bar before dinner. The wine is overpriced. I mean really $ 15 for a glass of Joseph Carr Cabernet? I also tried the Gosling Dark and Stormy. Someone needs to train the bartenders on how to make these so they have that special layering because the current people don’t know the secret. Sat for dinner. Started with the Stuffed Quahogs. OK, but not enough linquica or quahog. Plenty of breading though if that is what you want to pay for. Ordered the«special» ribeye($ 24.95) medium rare. It arrived median well(read: grey). Even the baked potato tonight was not up to their old ways. I can only assume the old cook/owner is no longer in the kitchen and all they care about is getting food out. The noise level has become deafening, even the staff yells loudly at each other as i listened to a conversation between a server and a buster that was over 3 table away! On a bright note our server Lauren was very good! We’ll be staying away in the future. there are plenty of better alternatives in the area with consistent drink and food. For example Royal II just down 6a in Yarmouth Port.

Our go-to place every summer when we stay on the Cape. Great clam chowder, super nice staff, and at night there’s live music in the bar and a lively crowd outside on the deck.

Extremely disappointed in this establishment ! They’ll hear about my experience tomorrow in person! The bouncers have no reason to exist! They are very disrespectable! Especially to me and my friends!

This place just doesn’t do it for me. I know it is a beloved, raved about staple in Dennis. I just don’t know why. I was there a few weeks ago. I started with a top shelf margarita from the bar. $ 13. Tasted like polluted lake water. I had 3 other people taste it and it was just off. Couldn’t taste any alcohol or margarita mix at all although, if you were in the mood for limes, there were 5 wedges in there so there’s that I guess. I got the fisherman’s platter with rice. None of the fried fish was crispy. Instead, it was that soggy«fry.» Speaking of fries, I should have gotten those instead of the rice option because A) the waitress failed to tell me this was, I think, fried rice and B) while hidden well, one flip of a chunk, yes chunk, of rice revealed the entire bottom was burnt. Also, continuing along the theme of expensive, this plate was in the neighborhood of $ 26. I will say the coke slaw was good. It would have been better if a piece of French fry, which I didn’t order, was not in the middle of it. So for me, it’s a no go but, know that I’m the apparent weirdo because everyone I was with and/or who I speak to, loves it. Weird.

Its was very clean and the drinks were good. The food was good but not out of of this world. but there was a lot of it. But we found some sand in the scallops and a shell piece in the lobster. Portions are huge, and it took over 10 minutes for our requested water to arrive. The martini was pretty strong. I would prefer mints at the front to dum dums but what ever floats your boat. The lobster role was too big, and there was no alternative to the valet parking. But the fried clams were perfectly cooked, but the fries tasted reheated and the baked potato was sub par. Overall a cook meal.

On our last weekend to Cape Cod we decided to do take out since we had 3 kids with us and we were at a local hotel. The take out order included 3 adult meals and 3 kids meals. The cost was over $ 90 and none of us ordered seafood. We ordered sandwiches with fries. The food was cold and the fries were so soggy we threw them out. Not impressed at all. Will not order from here again when we visit the cape again.

Most of our party had chowder, which was very thick and salty. My son had fish and chips with potato salad, which he didn’t eat. The fish was pretty ordinary. Our service was great. The air conditioning was on way too high. We all had to wear our sweaters and coats.

Another super meal at our fav place. We got there at 6 on a Friday, party of 5. Waited only 10 mins for a table. Great food and drinks. Fried oysters are amaze and the lobster pot pie was delish. See you next summer.

Extremely disappointed in staff member KILEY H. My husband and I had dinner there and when the bill came we paid with a credit card and we tipped a little over 20% in cash. Well, Kiley decided to add 20% tip to our credit card and take our tip in cash as well. Very sleezy. We will not ever be back!

As yearly summer residents of Dennis, we have been cutomers of Chapin’s since its opening. We have consistently enjoyed our meals as dinner guests. Tonight we were motivated enough to write up a review as a result of our exceptional service. Our meals were excellent enjoying lobster fettucini alfredo and the surf and turf dinners. What made our dinner exceptional was the service provided by Phillipe(a five star waiter). He was very observant. Without being overbearing, he intuitively knew our needs and preferences. He suggested wines that went well with our meals and knew how to make our meals precisely what we desired. Thank you Phillipe for making our evening a most pleasant experience and by optimizing our dining experience.

Went there on a Sunday. No lobsters, no prime rib, and no raw food. The waitress was very apologetic and tried to make other suggestions. We ended up just paying for our drinks and going elsewhere.

Great food — great service — go! We had The hot lobster roll and it didn’t disappoint. My wife had the portobello burger with sweet potato waffle fries. I had the homemade potato chips with sea salt. Get them!!! The French fries were awesome too, my daughter has those — they were thick cut and crisp. Our waitress Louisa was charming and attentive and made us feel right at home. Some nice live music was coming in from the bar area — the music was awesome but the patrons were rude — not one bit of applause and this guy was singing and playing his heart out. Overall a fantastic experience and we will be back for sure. Enjoy!

Great menu and right off the beach! Large bar area perfect for meeting up with friends and plenty of popcorn for the kids to munch while you wait for a table. Open and airy dining rooms with seating for all size parties. Outside raw bar is trendy and a hot spot locally. Fried selection of seafood is standard however the breading is lighter and not greasy. The Cobb Salad is enormous! Shrimp, lobster along with the rest of a typical Cobb make this salad a huge meal. The kettle chips are a great starter and the wings are tasty as well. End your meal at the ice cream window outside!

Everyone says that this place is one of the best in Cape Cod. I have been here twice and I just don’t see it. It’s not bad; it’s just not great. The oysters are really good and the boneless buffalo chicken tenders were pretty good. The stuffed fish with lobster sauce was ok but not great. The service was adequate although the server tended to disappear for lengths of time during the meal. I can’t say I won’t go back here. I just don’t think this place is as great as everyone says it is.
