Sesuit Harbor Café often gets pronounced many different ways as locals and renters often say the word«Sesuit» in completely different manners. However, one thing that renters and locals can not debate is the world class lobster rolls that are served here. My family and I have been coming here for 5+ years now and have never been disappointed. Huge portions for a fair price the seafood is always fresh. You can also bring your own beer or wine and sit outside next to the café. We often do take out and mix the lobster rolls with steak that we grill for surf & turf. Highly recommend, its a must stop to eat if you are in the area.

When I was a kid, and my Uncle Earl ran a charter fishing boat out of Sesuit harbor, there was a little coffee stand that opened up in the pre-dawn hours where you could buy bait, a stale day-old roll, some coffee, or «coffee with extra»(something poured in behind the counter), and if you knew the guy, a case of beer if you had forgotten to stop at the packy the night before. That was the old Sesuit Harbor. Now we have the tourist Sesuit Harbor, which features this great little café on the west side of the channel, overlooking the boat traffic and with a decent view. Since there’s nothing on the east side anymore, this is pretty much it for amenities in East Dennis. And they do a perfectly fine job of the standard seafood quick fare(see many reviews of the lobster rolls). But, of course, with tourist prices, and with really long wait periods during peak hours. That said, I still enjoy taking my parents here on fair days not quite in the high season, when it’s not too hot(lack of air conditioning is a problem on hot days) or cold(lack of heating, etc.) It’s also a helluva lot harder to find decent seating when it’s during the rush. So: go in the off-season, avoid in-season. So I average the four stars and the two for a three, and leave it for what it is.

My boyfriend and I spent a weekend in Sandwich for my birthday. The owner of the bed and breakfast that we stayed at had suggested this place to us for lunch by the beach. It was a great suggestion. You order inside and grab a seat and when your food is ready the girls will bring it out to you. We had a lobster roll and fried scallops both of which were delicious. The lobster roll was was filled with lobster from start to finish and the French fries were just perfect. We washed it all down with a Nantucket nectar!

***Visited Sept.8th*** BYFAR, still the BEST lobster roll(or lobsta roo) I’ve ever had! I’ve had them all over, Miami, LA, AC and NH. Its pricey, but you get a good amount of lobster meat! I do feel bad for the staff as the main area has no AC and the staff looks miserable :-/ Good Luck –T

Would I «eww and aww» like most Unilocalers have? Nope. SHC was much better in years past. The food wasn’t horrible on our visit this season, but it’s wasn’t great by any means. My husband and I split a lobster roll, which was tiny and did not have much flavor, nor lobster for that matter. And, the plate was filled with tons of fries that were clearly previously frozen. Neither of us bothered with the small cup of coleslaw after one taste each, as it was extremely bland. Expect long lines, as this place is popular during the Summer months. We’ll probably skip this place in the future and just enjoy the view from a different location around Sesuit Harbor. CASHORCHECKONLY!

Hands down best lobster roll in cape cod This was the first place we stopped for a lobster roll on our first day in cape cod on the way to Brewster and tried at least 4 more places. None compared. This place have a lot more lobster than roll and very light mayo. Great fries. You can bring your own liquor. They don’t serve. Anyway we had to stop one more time before we left cape cod.

Great everything! I’m sure they deal with thousands of ppl everyday, tourists and locals. Their food is simple, fresh and great. I love the area, very casual. On a decent day, it feels amazing just to sit there and enjoy their food. Staff is nice but they’re maintain their professionalism to customer.

Honestly, a lot of hype for not a lot of payoff. The lobster roll had a lot of mayo and chopped celery in it. There were identifiable whole claws, but the rest of the salad looked like rolled out leg meat. The rolls were big, but not as big as they could have been for the price. They also had a tomato hiding under the lettuce that was not appreciated by me at all. The bun was nice and toasty though. This place is also all cash, and I couldn’t find an ATM. Luckily my buddy had some cash, because lunch of 4 lobster rolls and drinks came to about $ 100. I didn’t look too hard though, there may have been an ATM I missed. We saw a lot of people ordering salads and burgers, which just seemed weird and like a waste at a place right on the water, but maybe they knew something I didn’t. The seating is all picnic tables with umbrellas for shade. When your order is ready they yell your number and you waive over the food runner. Be prepared to wait a while when this place is busy. The view is nice, but this is an active marina. Lots of heavy machinery in the parking lot moving boats, and lots of boats docking and taking off.

This place was fantastic. We came here twice during our three days in the Cape, once at 2 in the afternoon and once at around 7pm. The line was very long for dinner, but it’s no big deal if it’s a nice day and you’ve packed a cooler of beverages. The food also takes a while to come out. We ended up ordering appetizers at the Raw Bar on the other side while we waited for everything else. All of that said, it was worth the wait. Outdoor seating only with nice views of the water, especially at sunset. If you go at night it’s very dark, so we used an iPhone flashlight for light. Others brought candles. Here’s what we ordered: Fisherman’s platter — really good but got just fish and chips the next time Fish and chips — amazing Lobster roll — amazing Shrimp cocktail — amazing Seared scallop salad — really good Lobster bisque — pretty good Lobster savannah — lots of bread, would pass on this next time Lobster crabcakes — really small portion for the price

So I am not a sea food fan at all, but I decided that I will give this place a try seeing that they have world famous lobster roll and I have never had good sea food before. Well I’m so glad I tried them. This place is amazing. I ordered the lobster roll with butter not mayo(this is an option but you have to ask them cause it’s not advertised). It was so tasty! They had huge chunks of fresh lobster and with the butter it was so tasty. It did not taste fishy at all. Just fresh and delicious and it comes with yummy fries and cole slaw(which I asked them not to give me as I am not a fan of any cole saw). This is a great little gem in Cape Cod. It’s a must go even if you don’t like seafood. It converted me!!!

Great scenery. Amazing food. It’s a perfect picnic by the water. Brought my family here twice during our stay at the cape. The food is delicious enough to share. There’s usually a long line, but it goes fast. Bring your own beverage(it’s a BYOB) and you won’t even notice the wait time. Sesuit Harbor Café has definitely become a staple in our travels.

Is it fat that we came here twice in one day? The little hut/shack where they sell the food at the counter looks dilapidated, but I think that’s the charm of it. You order inside, but the waiters bring you your food after you’ve found a cute picnic table by the stretch of land overlooking the beaches. One of the most gorgeous outdoor views I’ve seen in a while, but be prepared to share a picnic table with other parties especially during peak hours. For breakfast, my bf and I shared the lobster benedict, that had heaping amounts of lobster on it for $ 15. It was well worth the price, and it came with a side of home fries that were cooked to pure perfection. We also got a breakfast sammy, which was great, but definitely try out the seafood here. At night, we came again and the line was about a 30 minute wait. Wish I knew it was BYOB!!! We both got lobster rolls, and again, HEAPING amount of fresh lobster for $ 19.50. It also came with fries and coleslaw. There wasn’t an exorbitant amount of mayo in the roll. Great bang for your buck. It’s a little hectic for dinner even on a weeknight, but with amazing food and a beautiful view, it’s worth the wait! Made our experience in Cape Cod a good(gluttonous) one!

I decided to come here after I looked it up on Unilocal, and I was surprised to see how many people actually come to this place! First off, I don’t recommend using your GPS to get here because it will lead you to the middle of a random street. I had to use my map and navigation skills to find this place. I was surprised to see how small it was, but it was SWARMING with people! I mean, the parking lot is huge and they have a huge outdoor dining area. The line was super long too. I ended up waiting 2 hours for my food because waiting in line took 1.5 hours and then it took another half hour for the food to come to you. What happens here is that you order food in the restaurant, and then you find a seat on any of the picnic tables, and then one of the workers will call your number and bring your food to you. Sometimes you have to wait for a table, but it’s not too long of a wait. Let’s get to the food: Lobster Roll — This isn’t the best lobster roll I had because I still think Tony’s Clam Shop in Quincy is so much better. BUT they give you a lot of lobster and it was absolutely delicious. The lobster was really juicy and was seasoned perfectly. The bun I didn’t really care for. I devoured this in seconds because it was that good. Chicken Tenders — I didn’t really like it because the ones I ate were a bit overcooked and dry. It comes with three pieces. I probably wouldn’t order it again next time I decide to come here. Fisherman’s Platter — Wow this was my first time eating a fried scallop and it blew my mind!!! It was SO good. I think that the highlight of the platter. The fried clam strips were pretty good. Tasted really fresh. Next time, I’m just going to order the fried scallops itself. Overall, a pretty great place to bring your family and friends! They don’t have alcohol so people bring their own alcohol and cups. I also see people bringing their own place mats.

I won’t bore you with too many words. This is the best lobster roll in New England. You want me to wait an hour for a roll and then have no where to sit and eat? Okay, gladly. I would gladly do so any day of the week, and have some crazy 3rd-home-owners from Connecticut monopolize a table for 2 hours with their screaming children just for a taste of your lobster roll and fries. I would risk a sunburn on the bottoms of my feet to do this. I’m not being sarcastic it’s that good.

A true gem on the Cape. Their lobster rolls are outstanding. I’ll deliberately stay away from the use of superlatives, because so many places claim to have the best. Whether or not it is the best lobster roll, you will certainly enjoy it while sitting at a picnic table overlooking the water. The seared tuna sandwich was also very good.

Be prepared for a long wait, but know that the food is absolutely worth it! The lobster roll was easily the best I’ve ever had. Amazing buttery bread and a very generous helping of lobster. I’d also suggest the fried clams — they taste like heavenly fried pieces of the sea.

Première Lobster rolls, possibly the best I’ve had! Big hunks of fresh lobster meat with lettuce and a warm roll, served with slaw and fries. The Clam and Haddock are delicious as well. Sesuit Harbor is a beautiful, somewhat secluded locale well off the Cape’s main drag. Seating overlooks the harbor and the atmosphere is 100% Cape Cod. Just make sure you check the weather before hand, outdoor seating only. Be prepared, this food is good but it doesn’t come cheap!

In town for a wedding, and severely disappointed by the lack-luster lobster roll from Young’s Fish Market(in Orleans) the day before, I was in search of a flavorful fresh lobster roll. Thankful to Unilocal for directing me to this not-so-hidden gem, its been almost a week and I’m still daydreaming about the lobster roll from Sesuit Harbor Café! Served on a warmed toasted, buttered bun, large chunks of lobster, celery, mayo & lettuce, a side of fries & cole slaw… I’m drooling just writing this. Their other foods/seafoods are fresh & delicious too, but really, come here for the lobster roll! Located in a out-of-the-way-am-I-even-in-the-correct-place location. Pay attention to your maps rather than GPS cause it tries sending you off track. After parking, wait in the line(which moves quickly) to order & pay at the counter inside. Then go locate a spot at the picnic tables out back, which overlook the waterfront. The young girls will then call out your order number, so don’t forget it, and deliver your meal right to your table. This place is definitely worth a stop if you’re visiting the cape! Tip: Bathrooms, are located in the parking lot in a building with no sign.

Got here early and it was Goldilocks zone weather — 70 °F, sunny with a light breeze. A four person line and easy parking. This place has expanded mightily since we first came here years ago — it even has real bathrooms now — the days of the porta-potty are over. The slaw is solid, but not your usual cape fare. It’s large chop and it has a seed in it — it tastes kinda like caraway but looks too small and round to be caraway. I liked it but it’s not to my wife’s taste. Yes you will sit on a picnic table under an umbrella and yes you will order at a counter and your food will be brought to you. This is not cheap, but on a nice day is worth every penny. Great food, beautiful setting and a friendly helpful staff.
