Best place in town. I have been coming to Clementine’s for the past 4 years, and it gets more and more magical with each visit. Just when I think «I can’t get any sexier than this» Emily W. goes and proves me wrong!
I’ve referred numerous friends and I’m excited to send my friends, that live in East Denver, to their upcoming location in Stapleton. Clementine’s is wonderful!

As always, Sarabeth shines as a hair stylist. Clementine’s is lucky to have her as part of their staff.
As I’m sure most of you are aware, some salons rent out space to self-​employed stylists and others hire stylists. Clementine’s is the latter and I really appreciate the way it sort of streamlines the booking/​paying system.
Instead of each stylist needing to keep track of appointments and payments, there’s a single point of contact at the salon and they keep stuff running smoothly.
Clementine’s is a really cute little boutique with a professional, but quirky vibe. The space is smaller than a lot of salons, but I actually really like that.
I mean, wherever Sarabeth goes, there I go too, but I’m glad she made the move to Clementine’s.

Had my hair painted by Sarah Lee and absolutely loved it. She taught me about my hair and the products that she used while setting clear expectations. I was thrilled by the results and the wonderful staff! Everyone was kind, knowledgable, and welcoming. I would recommend this salon to anyone!

Love this place… I went here for the first time this week and had a great experience. My appointment was with Sara Lee and she’s fantastic! My hair was a mess, worse than a mess! Several different colors, (including tons of gray roots) she made it look so nice! She corrected the mess and was the first time I was genuinely happy with an entire salon experience.
I think Sara Lee is an amazing stylist and I will be back regularly.

This is about to be LONG. My experience with Clementine’s has been a rollercoaster. To start off, I have black, thick, Asian hair that has gone through hell from my experimental DIY hair coloring days which I tried to mask with black box dye and I was very set on having a black to silver balayage/​ombré hair color. I couldn’t make my original appointment date so they rescheduled me with Pamela.
During the first appointment, she was personable and listened to what I wanted. She told me right off the bat that I wouldn’t be blonde right away, but that in one or two more appointments, I would be. She said a silver color needs to be applied to a very light base otherwise it would look green — and I definitely did not want green hair, so I was prepared to be patient. I was honestly a little surprised at how dark it still was… it was a pretty dark medium brown. I did really like how she cut my hair though so I left relatively satisfied after paying $ 180 ($ 150 for cut/​color + $ 30 tip) and scheduling another appointment.
2^nd appointment: after rinsing the bleach out, my hair was, again, darker than expected. However, my hair did feel great. So although I wasn’t 100% satisfied with the color of my hair, I was happy with the condition and I told myself that I would rather have healthy, darker hair than fried blonde hair. I left after paying $ 105 + tip and I scheduled another appointment.
3^rd appointment: I left pretty disappointed. My hair was pretty much the same color. She even told me herself that she was surprised it didn’t lift more. I was pretty upset because at this point I felt like I had wasted $ 430 over six total hours and my hair was not blonde, but a brassy brown color with a few blonde highlights underneath (weird). Remember that she had told me on the first appointment that I would probably be able to achieve my desired color in 3 appointments. I called the salon the next day explaining how upset I was. As a server, I am VERY hesitant about complaining about any type of service I receive because I know what it’s like. The receptionist told me that they offer free re-​do appointments and she asked when I could come in. I told her I had already scheduled another appointment for two weeks later and the receptionist told me to just keep that appointment and to talk to Pamela about it the next time I came in.
So, the fourth appointment. I came in & I expressed to her how I felt like there wasn’t really a difference between the second time I went in and the third time I went in, but she kind of brushed it off? After rinsing out the bleach, she toned it, and to my delight, she actually toned the ends to a silver color… with some green, which I overlooked because honestly I was in denial. When I was checking out, they charged me the full price (I was also a little surprised at this… seeing as how the receptionist told me the re-​do would be free) but I reluctantly paid because my hair was (somewhat) silver finally and because I know that Pamela put a lot of effort in to apply the bleach in my hair AND she’s really nice… I know I should have said something, but I hate complaining so much… ugh.
Then things went so bad I couldn’t just shrug it off. In the shower, the ends of my hair were a gummy mess. My hair snapped off with the slightest pull. To make matters worse, once I got out of the shower, the color in the mid shaft looked like a brassy mess and the ends of my hair were a muddy green-​grey color and some pieces were so silver they looked blue… yuck. It looked awful, but I was more concerned with how my hair was breaking off. I did NOT pay $ 550 over the course of 3 months to have gummy, brassy, puke green hair. I called the salon again, nearly in tears, and told them everything. They got me in for an appointment with Abby pretty quickly.
Abby was SO sweet and she was so knowledgeable about hair — I learned so much from her. The treatment and haircut saved me — my hair color somehow changed to an ashy brown to ashy blonde/​grey color at the ends and it no longer was gummy even though she only cut off 1.5 inches of hair! She told me how to tone my hair at home, to not use purple shampoo all the time because it is drying (I had no idea), and recommended really great products to me. The best part was that this appointment was FREE (the last one should have been too… but I digress).
Point is, no one should pay as much money as I did to get the result I ended up with and if it wasn’t for Abby, I would have rated maybe 2 stars because I was so unhappy. Will I be back at Clementine’s? Probably, because not gonna lie, I’m still unsatisfied with my hair color & I will definitely be booking with Abby because she is the stylist I never knew I needed in my life. Thank you so much for saving my hair! I really hope to be able to give a higher rated updated review in the future once I attain my silver (not green) hair color :)

My experience was mixed. On one hand I really liked everyone I met at the salon and they were super accommodating and friendly. On the other hand, my hair looked terrible after my appointment.
My usual stylist (from another salon) had taken a sabbatical and I was headed out of town for a family vacation. I knew we were going to take a million photos and I wanted my hair to be amazing. Clementines has a big rep and while I knew it was going to be costly, I thought if anyone could handle turning my boring brown into something sexy and slightly edgy, this was the place. I had gone in for a color consultation with a junior stylist. She and I talked about my hair and I showed her a buttery blonde that I wanted to bring in as a highlight. I was clear that I didn’t want to change my base, just add some blonde and caramel highlights.
My first warning should have been when at my second appointment, my stylist introduced herself and said «nice to meet you.» We had just met a week prior for my consult. I was a little concerned so I showed her the photo again and went through my wish list. She was super sweet and we really hit it off. I was super optimistic about the results but was a little concerned when I saw some red poking through during my post color cut. I waited until I was dry to assess the color and it was terrible! Copper red throughout my hair, with hints of the color we had discussed through the under-​layer.
I totally get that sometimes hair just doesn’t process the way one might expect. What frustrated me was that my stylist didn’t acknowledge that the color looked nothing like we had discussed. I wasn’t sure if she was rushed or if something just hadn’t gone right, but she styled me and said nothing about the color. I was then charged almost $ 200 for my services, which was way above what I was quoted.
I left super disappointed and didn’t know how to address it, so I sent an email when I got home. The salon was awesome and called me immediately and offered to fix or refund my money. I opted to have it fixed and scheduled with Dani, the owner. They also acknowledged the billing error and refunded me about $ 40.00.
The week leading up to seeing Dani for my fix was embarrassing since I work in a health care position with a lot of patient face-​time. Everyone kept asking me what I did to my hair! Finally Saturday rolled around and Dani was super sweet and accommodating. She tried to brighten the highlights and then applied a toner to help with the brassy look. When I left my hair looked pretty good, however the red came back through after a couple washes and I ended up going back to my regular salon to have it fixed a couple weeks later. The crappy thing is all of my vacation photos show me with this weird brassy hair. I’m so sad it didn’t work out with Clementines because all of the photos on Unilocal show such enviable hair! Sucks that I couldn’t say the same…

My appointment was a few months ago and I’ve juuuuust gotten around to writing this review…
I’ve been looking for a stylist ever since I moved to CO almost 3 years ago. I like having constant people for things like hair, nails, waxing, etc. and have found pretty much awesome people for everything except hair thusfar. I saw all the amazing reviews for Em for long hair and thought, awesome, I think I’ve found her! Not so much…
I went in for a trim as I’ve been trying to grow my hair. I came in and Em was in the back so I had to wait, but only a few minutes. She came out and brought me to her station and I told her exactly what I was looking for. She was cold and bordering on unfriendly even. I was immediately uncomfortable. I don’t need to be bestiest with my hair stylist, but some amount of warmth is appreciated. Maybe she was having an off day and she’s not usually like that, but that’s the Em I got.
From the time I sat I left my car to the time I got back into it, only 25 minutes had past. Em managed to do a consult, wash my hair, cut it, blow dry it, and have me pay all in 25 minutes. All for the price of about $ 60. The cut wasn’t bad, I will say that, but it could have been better, seeing as how I still had a some split ends in my layers when I went home really got a good look at my hair.
I recently received an email stating that due to some additional certification she’s received, Em’s prices have been raised, so expect to pay more than $ 60 for a cut and blow dry.
Needless to say I will not be returning and my search for a long hair stylist in Colorado shall continue.
Looking back on all the good reviews on Em and I notice that a VERY large portion of them are from Unilocalers who have written less than 5 reviews… weird huh?

I was going to Emily and she’s great. She did a fantastic job on my cut and ombré. However, it is very hard to get an appointment with her last minute for touch up. You would have to book a few weeks ahead. So, I decided to go to Abby. I love Abby. She is awesome. She listens and gives you her undivided attention to make sure you are happy before you leave.

I am so impressed with Clementine’s, from start to finish. They were accommodating while making and appointment, sent a text confirmation the day before, and walking in everyone was so friendly!
The salon itself is gorgeous– very boutique-​y and a nice atmosphere. Great waiting area, too! The location is easy to find, in a more quiet neighborhood of the Highlands.
My stylist was Pamela, and she was awesome! So friendly and really listened to my needs and wants with my hair, and really nailed my vision. The stylist I had been seeing for years is retiring, so I was a little nervous to try someone new. I am so glad I found Pamela!
I had never done color before, but really wanted to try balayage. She was understanding about this, so we decided to ease into it a bit. It was a shocker to see it done, but I am loving it!
She also talked about how to style it and gave me some great tips. I really couldn’t have asked for a better, more seamless experience. They also have a great selection of Bumble and Bumble products in their salon. I can’t wait to come back to Clementines again soon and am so happy and relieved to have found a great salon and my new go-​to!

Great experience from start to finish!
I made an appointment over the phone and the lady at the other end was so pleasant and helpful. Then, a day prior to the appointment, I received a text reminder for the appointment.
At my appointment time, I was on-​time and so was my stylist, Michelle. She was very nice, easy to talk to, and made me feel comfortable telling her what I wanted-​which was what ever she thought I needed because I hadn’t had a haircut in almost six months!
Best part: the wash. While I was trying to hold a conversation with Michelle, she tried to knock me out unconscious with an amazing scalp massage. I am not sure why someone hasn’t picked up on that business idea… just scalp massages. I digress.
Michelle was able to cut my hair so that I looked polished, but not over-​coiffed. I am a low maintenance gal and she listened to my request that it be easy. She finished by blowing my hair out and it looked fabulous!
Furthermore, I used the Unilocal check-​in discount for products that Clementines offered and left happy and relaxed!

Do yourself a favor and go get a cut by Cindy. I knew I was in good hands walking in because her client before me (who had straight hair) left with seriously fabulous hair.
I have curly hair and Cindy gave me the best haircut and style of my life. I didn’t think anyone could outdo my favorite gal in Kansas City but she’s done it and amazingly by a long shot. She’s got gorgeous curls herself so she understands the struggle and she really knows what she’s doing. She takes her time to do it right and it’s very clear that she cares about giving her clients a wonderful experience. She is worth every penny you’ll spend and more.
For as long as Cindy is cutting hair and I’m in Denver, no one else will touch my hair!

Since I moved to Denver (Jan 2015) I’ve been using Clementine’s for my cut/​color service. Their staff and service were so great I booked them for hair + makeup the weekend of my wedding (June 6, 2015) and they did a fabulous job! It was a little stressful finding vendors in a new city but the gals at Clementine’s were a no brainer! Anara and Sarah were our stylists and they are awesome ladies — truly fun to hang with all afternoon while getting ready.
We all came with some rough direction (up/​down/​side ‘do) and internet inspiration (photos) and they both took our thoughts and infused some real creativity. Everyone looked beautiful and loved their style! We did our own flower bouquets and they even used some remains to stick in each of the bridesmaids hair (completely unplanned).
It was a really relaxing morning and everyone looked gorgeous in photos (I uploaded a bunch that were taken by both our iphones and the photographer).
Really recommend Clementine’s for any service — they’re just great people! (Who happen to be extraordinarily talented too)

Best salon in Denver.
I have been going to Emily for nearly two years and she is incredible.
I always bring in photos of what I am thinking and Emily is able to translate that into something that will look good on me. I have always left Clementine’s with a smile on my face. The pricing is the same as other up-​scale salons in the Denver area, but you know you’re going to walk out happy. I used to go to Bang in Wash Park but kept getting inconsistent cuts and color and half the time would leave feeling like I didn’t get my moneys worth.
The only down-​side to this salon is pretty much that it’s so good it can be challenging to get an appointment. Expect to be booked several months out. It works for me because I just stay on a schedule, but no last minute cuts here.

Emily W is amazing.
I got my ombré done by her and it turned out great. She always takes her time and friendly.
I was out of town for a while and couldn’t get an appointment (cause she’s super popular! Which is not a bad thing at all) when I had to get my hair done (had to tone my hair) so I had to go to a different salon. GOSH… It was a mistake. I will def go back to Emily for my next hair colour correction.
She’s an ombré god! ;)

This review is for a cut by Em about 6 months ago. Yikes, embarrassing that it has taken me so long to post this…
I actually almost decided not to post for that reason… but after reading recent reviews and re-​reading older reviews, I think it is important to share my experience.
I was actually really excited about Clementines after a great review from my daughter. It looked cute in the pics and my daughter said it has a great vibe. Also, I noticed it was easy to get to, and found out when I got there that there is a parking lot and street parking — all great!
Unfortunately, the stylist my daughter mentioned was not available for quite a while, so I reviewed the bio’s of the other stylists and picked one who seemed to have a decent amount of experience. I looked over her Unilocal reviews and most were good, tho some negative. I figured ‘you can’t please everyone!’ and decided to pay more attention to the good.
Looking back now, I wish I would have been more diligent. One of the old neg reviews in particular (and one of the new) sounds SO much like my experience with Em.
When I arrived she barely spoke to me. I wanted to show her pics of the style I wanted but it was taking a few seconds (WELL under a minute) for my Pinterest to load. She was a little huffy (and very cold for the beginning) so I tried reloading the app (never had that prob before!) again and gave up after a few more seconds, and just tried explaining what I wanted.
She asked no questions after and immediately asked me to get up so she could wash my hair. At this point I was taken aback and a little worried, but I thot, maybe she just got bad news or is upset about something? And I told myself, maybe she is so good at what she does, she doesn’t even need much input! Everything will be fine right?
The other thing is, I don’t need a lot of chit chat. I am really easygoing and can be chatty or not chatty.
I am not easily offended, but I do believe when you are providing a service, you should be professional and polite.
And if you are good, you will respond to your client’s vibe, as I like to do when I am dealing with service professionals — and my own clients.
In the end, if I get a great service, I am happy!
Anyway, that was the fastest haircut I have ever had! There was very little technique involved. And I have had the whole range — from Super Cuts when I was young and poor, to very pricy cuts by sought after stylists.
When she was done, she still didn’t speak to me or ask for feedback.
I have never experienced anything like that before and was in shock. I didn’t ask for any adjustments or for more time. I just wanted to leave.
Actually, one of the hardest things was that in the short time I was there, I noticed how great all of the other stylists were with their clients. Listening to what their clients wanted, asking for feedback, making adjustments, giving them styling tips and making suggestions. They were all polite, professional and supportive.
In particular, I noticed the girl on the other side of the divider, who had just finished up with her client’s cut & style when I sat down in Em’s chair.
She was very sweet and helpful with her client and took a lot of time with styling tips and suggestions. Her client was leaving as Em was finishing her process, and she had obviously been there for some time before I arrived.
I came to find out that that stylist was the one my daughter originally recommended — Abby!
Well, I had to schedule my next appointment with her and I was not disappointed!
Abby has cut my hair several times since then and she is really great. Highly recommended. She is newer to the business then some of the others, but that girl really knows her stuff! And she pays attention. She is great about showing you how to achieve the style you looking for when you are back at home on your lonesome. Great about suggesting products but not pushing you to buy them. She is sweet and caring and genuinely seems to want to do the best she can do for her clients. She is a professional and I know why my daughter recommended her.
I would give Clementine’s much more than 1 star review because of Abby and everything else I witnessed when I was there on the first visit and since.

This is a review for one individual with which I had a specific and very unsatisfactory experience. It makes me feel bad to do post it, but the fact is that most people, including me, don’t post the bad experiences, only the good.
I realize that it can be just as helpful to post the negative and tho I hate to do it, I think I should.
Holy crap, this post is LONG!

Cindy Koder has been cutting my hair for nearly 5 years now and I can’t imagine letting anyone else near my head with scissors.
I began my search for a hair stylist in Denver seeking out someone that has expertise with cutting and caring for curly hair. If you have curly hair, you know the trauma of getting one bad cut with someone who has no knowledge of curls. Luckily, Cindy has gorgeous curls herself, so she knows exactly what to do. Most of the time I just tell her to take it away and make me feel pretty. She always does right by me!
Additional reasons why I love her: she’s a lovely conversationalist and I always leave her chair with a renewed, positive energy. She gives an amazing scalp massage that just melts the stress off my head. Thanks, Cindy!

Em was great… Finally someone that truly knows how to cut long hair without making it look freshly cut… And blunt.
I don’t like getting my hair colored by salons bc more times than not I’ve been completely let down. Em did a fab job– while initially may hair came out too red. She fixed it next day and now I love it.
A trek, I live in wash park, but worth it!
