Come here multiple times with coworkers and on my own. Great spot for lunch downtown! Sandwiches beat your typical Subway; the ingredients are fresh, premium meats, and the bead is so soft. They have a unique twist– all sandwiches served with bread«guts» on top– the soft part of the bread yanked out to make room for more filling. My favorites are the Pompei– a chicken salad made with Thai chilli sauce– and the Neptune– a lobster salad made with real lobster.

My favorite sandwich is the Narmer on their Gluten Free bread. The staff is very friendly, high energy, and helpful. I was visiting Denver and they had great suggestions of things to do and places to go. The place was clean and smelled fantastic.

Walked into this place on a whim wanting some soup and a sandwich… and these guys certainly delivered! They gave me a free cup of chili and upgraded me to a bowl of chicken noodle all for free! Quality and amazing tasting food and the hospitality of the staff was pretty welcoming. Side note: all of their sandwiches have little characters and a story that go along with them. That is pretty unique for sure.

I want to like this place. I really do. The food is comparable to Jimmy Johns but a little more fresh and put together. So what is the issue? I order for delivery much more than I visit in store. Countless times my order has been incorrect. The worst was when I got a vegetarian sandwich instead of my italian. I feel bad for the person mine went to! On top of my order consistently being messed up, I have had more than one experience with different employees making me feel uncomfortable by lingering or trying to start up inappropriate conversations. When I’m at work and hungry… please, just give me my food… I’ll give you your tip… be on your way! I just want to eat!

This is a place of my youth and to find it in a town not from my youth almost made me pee my pants?! I was so excited when I picked up my little tour guide of food for downtown denver, low and behold ERBERTS and GERBERTS!!! OMG did I just take a time warp back to my home town?! I cannot tell you how many drunken college nights were spent post baring at Erberts and Gerberts. BTW this followed me into my upstanding citizen age and when I go home to Minnesota is is one of the go to places I have to eat at! I had no idea they had more, it is cheaper for me to fly to denver then MN! No Noo Just kidding… I found this place on a tourist flyer and was so excited! The service was good and it was fast. We came at the prime time for the denver location, business district. It was packed, the fun signs of my youth on the walls even tho my youth was thousands of miles away. Why they are so good, the bread, it is fresh baked daily and it is not a subway bread, trust me you gotta try it. It is soo good. The styles are thought out and each of the originals have a story all are put together so the flavor blends and tastes do good! my favorite is the flash, it is an italian type sub but when you bite into the bread, I melt. I come from Mn and now live in Las Vegas, if I could get one here I might buy them out. Until then it is still great, I love it and will eat again…

The quatro sandwich is literally the best sandwich I’ve ever had. The service was quick, easy, and everybody was very friendly. Strongly recommended for anybody in the downtown area!

Terrible terrible experience today. I ordered a tappy sandwich which is normally good. But today it was terrible they added mayo which is not listed on the menu. The meat had hardened on the edges as if it sat out for a long time. Then to top it all off I got a ridiculously bogus charge on my credit card of $ 973,005.61!!! Which had to be the from the person who worked the register purposefully entering a tip of $ 973,000. Crazy and so unethical and fraudulent. I WILLNEVERGOBACK.

This really should be a 3.8 star. Fast service, good bread, and interesting Sando combos. Great soup! I like this shop better than jimmy johns, but less than subculture or half fast or Snarfs. I’m not sure whether it’s really fair to compare it to local shops, but E&G holds its own in a tough market. It’s also really well priced. I’m a little basic in that my go to is a boney billy.

I came in expecting a Subway or Quiznos type of experience. I was pleasantly surprised. Their bread is top notch and ingredients and flavor were unique and fresh– the polar opposite of Subway. At $ 4.69– $ 6.09, their subs are a good value.

I work in this same building ad E&Gs, and we all go to this place as a very last resort for lunch. The staff is friendly and the place is clean, but the sandwiches are just so blah. Really, they are boring and there is nothing to them. Plus, they take out the middle of the bread, which I don’t like. What am I suppose to do with that? Plenty of other sandwich shops around with more variety that simply taste better.

I’d feel bad giving less than three stars because it’s clean, the service was friendly and they were lightening fast. And it’s cheap. I had to have white bread because they said that’s all they had. Which works fine for me, but I saw other reviewers had run into the same thing. That sounds like an issue. The sandwich was really good. I had the erupter with no onion. They brought it to me with no onion when I actually meant to say no tomato. But well done. They listened to what I said. I’m still hungry. I’d rather pay more for a real sandwich. It’s not somewhere I’m dying to go back to.

For the price it’s not to bad… The sandwiches are slightly lacking in size and don’t give you much meat. The hallowed out inside seemed promising but it’s not filled as full as I’d hoped for. The mix of flavors is unique but not great. I’d recommend another shop if you are hungry.

This place started out making good sandwiches but recently they have shrunk in size and are no longer worth the price. The amount of ingredients in these sandwich is laughable. Even with double meat, it is barely lunch. I’m not a glutton, and I dont really like those big meaty deli sandwiches, but when I’m dropping $ 8-$ 10 on lunch I want to be full.

First time ever experiencing E&B’s as they are not in the midwest where I used to live. I was going simply on the fact that a coworker said I should try it as it is one of a kind. I compare their subs very similar to Jimmy John’s but of course E& B has their own unique style of subs by taking the«guts» out of the sub. I would go back if a friend or coworker wanted to go there but other than that I was not overwhelmed with the feeling that I must have another sub. I ordered the Narmer with turkey and avocado. I was a little disappointed to find that the avocado was already smashed making it more of a spread than fresh sliced avocado. The turkey needed more flavor as it was bland. Huge fan of the provolone cheese as not very many places have this cheese as an option. The bread was delicious but nothing to rave about. The food does come out quickly but it was a decent lunch crowd coming in and out. They need a larger location I think where there is more seating and especially where you can sit outside. I understand this is the type of establishment where you take the food to go but you have to cater to the customers that don’t want to sit at their desk and have lunch. The establishment was clean but what I found was a little gross was that the delivery man went through the kitchen after just running some orders. Which would be fine but he was drenching in sweat. He touched his head and I had to look away just so I would not see what he would touch behind the counter. I would never have your delivery employee step behind the counter unless he needs to. Before making any of those orders he was touching his hair constantly. If you are going to be around food there needs to be a hat on or a bandanna.

I agree with whoever said it is like Subway but less customization. I had a turkey avocado thing, I remember it being in the range of $ 8 which didn’t seem to hold it’s value. Am I the only one not cool with how they take out the middle of the bread and give it to you on the side? It feels weird to eat a sandwich that way. They also didn’t have wheat bread, something I was raised on, I am one of the few people in this world who HATES white bread. I think the name, logo, atmosphere, and concept is extremely well done and on point. It is also highly marketable. The staff was great too, helpful, friendly, and prompt. Unfortunately the most important thing, their product, could use some work, hence the 3 stars. I will hope they will make adjustments, this business is still somewhat new, I am going to wait to come back here and see if anything improves. If you are in the area, maybe stop in and see what is all about, but I don’t recommend this place with all of the impressive competition not far away.

I have no complaints. I let the girl know behind the counter it was my first time here. And she gave me some recommendations. They were spot on. The Bread was fresh, and didnt skimp on the meat either. And Came with a Free Cookie. The lobby was clean and the tables were wiped down after someone left.

The portions are very, very small. I had the turkey + avocado and am still fairly hungry. I opened my sandwich to check it out, and there was literally maybe 3 slices of thinly cut turkey(for the entire sandwich), and I couldn’t see or taste any avocado. Upon closer examination, there was indeed some hidden amongst all the lettuce, but I was hoping it would be a major taste component. Wasn’t too pricey, but I basically feel like I got ripped off. The ingredients themselves met expectations I guess, about on par with Subway but nothing that great. Service was okay too. I really wish I would have just gone to Smiling Moose or Three Sisters. Oh well.

Two stars is pretty tough for me on this one, but I’m giving them the benefit of trying to make a bad situation, better. We had a $ 2 off coupon floating around the office and on a cold day when I forgot my lunch, I opted for something somewhat close to my office. So, I headed over to Erbert and Gerbert’s to give it a try. I ordered the Cally – a sweet chili vegetarian sandwich. I didn’t order the vegetarian because I didn’t feel like meat, I ordered the vegetarian because I DON’T EAT meat. When I got back to the office with my sandwich, I opened up the wrapper and took a bite. And realized immediately that something was wrong. Really wrong. There were three different kinds of meat on my «vegetarian» sandwich. This is a big no-no! Putting meat on a vegetarian’s sandwich is a cardinal sin… So, then I had to walk back to the shop and have them replace my sandwich. Not a huge deal, but annoying when I had work to get done during lunch. They replaced the sandwich and apologized, but almost sent me back out with another wrong sandwich(this time missing the cheese…) They offered me a cookie and a coupon for a free sandwich, but I can’t say I’m excited to head back. If I were a hard-core vegetarian(ethical, religious, etc.) rather than just an abstainer for health reasons(meat makes me sick… one bite won’t kill me, but I wouldn’t eat a whole sandwich) I would have been livid! Watch out…

Nice variety of subs with prices ranging from $ 4.70 to $ 6. Some interesting combinations such as cranberry wasabi dressng on chicken. You can pick subs in white or wheat bread to go or they have about 10 tables to sit in I went for the comet candy sub, with roast beef, ham, provolone, lettuce, tomato, mayo and mustard on wheat. The bread was nice and the sub pretty big with good helpings of all the ingredients. I bought the sub, a side of chips, and had a $ 1 off coupon, so the bill came to $ 6.30, which seemed reasonable and in line with competitors around I hope in the future they have more options of veggies or extras like hot peppers, pickles, olives, etc, but other than that, a nice addition to the neighborhood
