Delicious steak here and great sides. The menu was pretty contemporary and wide ranging and the drinks were also very creative. The ambiance was fun for a modern take on steakhouse.

I don’t know how the steak is going to be but the waiting is already pissing me off. We showed up 15 minutes before our reservation and more than 30 minutes later, still no table! Wtf! Though they give us free app. Which is nice but still not enough. Asked for a paper napkin 10 minutes ago. Stil not coming yet. The food is pretty amazing. We had bone in rib eye and black cod. Very good! Worth every dime!

Had the Bubu Bowl, and BUBU! It was good. I asked if they had any veggies besides brussel sprouts, and he’s like what do you want. I am like, uh brocoli. He says how about Oak Fired Chinese Brocoli. I am glad I said yes, b/c it was the perfect compliment to my Bubu bowl. I tried a friends Brussel Sprouts and they delicious as well. Good work Guard and Grace!

WOW!!! We went here for our five-year anniversary, and G&G pulled out all the stops! From a signed card from the staff to a special dessert, we felt like VIPs! The server was knowledgeable but not all up in our space. He was perfectly balanced. The octopus, steak, barramundi, mac and cheese, brussels, and panna cotta blew us away! The wine list was extensive, and the cocktails were creative. For such a wonderful experience, the prices were also totally reasonable! We’ll be back!

We stumbled on this place per Ritz concierge recommendations. I would expect a good recommendation from the Ritz Carlton so we strolled down. We got there at five and it was already packed(the bar) and I can see why. It has a great atmosphere and even though the bar area was full someone suggested we grab a drink and see if a spot opens. We were quickly offered the two side chairs of what I would consider the equivalent of a «chefs’ kitchen» table. My inside theory is they didn’t want people standing around taking up space but honestly it didn’t even matter because it was much appreciated! The waiter was quick to serve us and didn’t make us feel like we were«imposing» knowing we only planned on drinks. I ordered the«dealer’s choice» which was bourbon that day. I don’t even remember what else was in it other than it was light pink and bubbly and so amazingly delicious I couldn’t stop drinking!!! I love Moscow Mules so I ordered the equivalent to that which was their ginger beer drink and it was fantastic!!! I couldn’t get enough of them! I gave the bartender my «sidecar test» and other than lack of garnish it was heavenly! Aced the test! By now we had decided to order oysters and shrimp appetizer. Oh Lord they were so succulent and HUGE! The blue point is my absolute favorite oyster and they were incredibly fresh and I’ve never seen shrimp that size! We were sucked in by then and had decided to stay for dinner and shared the proccieuto(sorry for spelling) flight and it was also breathtakingly fresh. Our favorite was the Spanish«flight» because it was perfectly salty and cured. Although, all three were amazing. We also shared the black truffle Mac and cheese and lamb shank. We LOVE both of those so to see them both on the menu was a treat! Both did not disappoint and lived up to the high quality and taste of all of our meal. This sounds silly, but I LOVE their bathroom! Throughout the meal our server was above par and rolled with our indecisiveness. We actually really enjoyed sitting at the«chef table» bar area. We were able to see prep and the attention to detail. They were all like a well oiled machine and always professional and friendly to us, despite being incredibly busy. That was much appreciated! It was the perfect stumble upon dining experience and I will absolutely be back! And then back again, and again!

Probably one of best dining experiences my girlfriend and I have ever had. Went here on a last minute get away to Denver, looking for a nice dinner, think we struck the lottery! Service was top notch and food was even better. We sat at the bar with a view of the chefs, very entertaining. We ordered the«filet mignon flight» to split, with a side, which was plenty of food. Sous Chefs at the bar Deandra and her husband Mike kept us company in their downtime and made us more than a few free samples of new dishes. We finished with the Cinnamon bread pudding, which was to die for. What an awesome night!

I have to say, this may now take the spot for best steak house in Colorado. Troy has done an outstanding job with this restaurant and it is my favorite place to go eat. The environment is very comfortable, modern, and friendly. I love the over sized booths that give a little privacy and maintain an intimate setting for you and your guests. The wine selection is huge, they have something for everyone. From affordable to extravagant. The craft cocktails are delicious, though pricy. But honesty, don’t come here if you’re worried about price. It’s easy to spend hundreds for just two people. Whether you’re looking for small plates and starters or a great steak dinner you can’t miss out. The grilled octopus is fantastic, the charcuterie plates are always enjoyable, the sashimi is delicious, and the oysters are great. The steak is honestly a cut above any other restaurant in the area. It blows capital grill, Elways, Ruth’s Christ, and every other place out of the water. The only comparable place is called Del Friscos down in the tech center and I will compare them at the end. I didn’t really find the sides to be that great at Guard and Grace, but I guess that could just be because the other food is so fantastic that the sides seem boring in comparison. They aren’t bad by any means but they are definitely not the best part of the meal. Desserts are great if you have any room left over at the end. There is free valet parking for anyone dining at the restaurant so that makes it easy since you don’t have to worry about parking. Now for the del Friscos comparison. DF used to be my favorite steakhouse in Denver, but I think G&G has taken that spot. The steaks are just absolutely fantastic and one cut above even DF. however DF still has the best sides with the lobster Mac and cheese, the bacon on their salads, the tuna tartare, the mushrooms, and the potatoes au gratin. G&G’s sides don’t even come close, but at the end of the day I go to a steak house for the steaks and not the sides. G&G edges out DF just slightly on that front. You wouldn’t be disappointed with either, but I thought it only fair to compare the two best steaks in Denver.

Back here. Really convenient location just off the light rail H line @18th and California. Again we found the food delightful. Octopus appetizer as good as it gets. West coast oysters good, but tiny and short of great. Beet salad lovely. Gnocchi was delicious. Scottish salmon very nice. My wife had the black cod, which I did not love, but she did. Service was a bit rushed and pushy. We still place this in the top ten Denver restaurants, though closer to #10 than #1. Very expensive.

Pros: –SERVICE. I would come back just because the service was amazing. I was here to celebrate an anniversary and they made sure to take care of you. It was so unexpected and so amazing! –Our server was so attentive and kind. –Drinks are SOGOOD. –Brussel sprouts are really amazing. –Steaks are tender and has amazing flavor :) Cons: –The only con I have is that my steak was a little charred, but I know some individuals like it that way. I still ate most of it though! It was really good.

3.5 stars I liked it, but it’s a steakhouse with a bad prime rib which knocks off an entire star. This a beautifully decorated lively spot even in the middle of the week. I was promptly seated(one of the pros to one-person business trips). A few minutes after being seated a lady comes by with a taste-tester. She seemed so excited that I didn’t have the heart to tell her I don’t like pork so I just ate it. It had some lovely flavors. Overall, every person that came by my table was vivacious and happy. They seemed surprised to have a guest that would converse and ask them how they were as well which speaks about the typical diner at this location. I went with the prime rib and gnocchi, which came out freakishly fast. As in, I don’t understand how it could have been entered, viewed by a cook, and given to a runner that quickly, much less cooked. The prime rib left a lot to be desired. The other rim was delicious, but the bulk of it had either not been roasted at high enough of a heat or not long enough. The fat had not melted into the meat so I kept hitting spots where I was just fighting and fighting with my knife, taking out chunks of fat, especially in the center. I’d cut off a piece and stab at it with my fork several times to test it before putting it in my mouth. This quickly became frustrating. I was also confused. I don’t understand how a tenderloin in a steakhouse turns out like this, especially the«best steakhouse». I don’t get it. Thankfully, the gnocchi was on. Gnocchi definitely won for this meal. You have to try it. Entertainment included watching the family next to me photograph all of their food. They were a table of about 10 and most of them, including parents(while grandparents looked around with a look that said«they have terrible manners, but I’ll never say anything»), were on their phones and would only set down phones for incoming food, which they of course photographed before eating. «OMG! A Shrimp!» :-o I really liked my waiter. I was supposed to have 2 waiters, but the one that was pointed out to me as my other never looked at nor approached my table. Great staff, great décor, and some great sides, but lacking on the steak part of being a steakhouse. I’d like to come back to check out the bar, but won’t order an entrée.

Great steakhouse with upbeat service and unique menu. Make sure to ask about getting the lime chipotle smashed potatoes served loaded. Yummy!

Bottom Line — The food overall is well-executed. Make reservations, and be sure to order the octopus. And the truffle gnocchi. I came for dinner with 2 friends on 12 Nov 2015, and we had a pretty good meal! We did make reservations, and found parking just a block away; though we found out that they have valet. We had the following: Meat and Cheese($ 13, burrata, speck, grilled bread) — This appetiser was pretty good. The burrata was nice and smooth, and the speck went well with the toasted bread. Some castelvetrano olives rounded out the plate. Oak Fried Octopus($ 14, with white bean & celery salad, sherry vinaigrette, red pepper sauce) — Yes yes yes. So tender, so flavourful. I would order this again; I would order two of these for my main meal. No, make that three of these. This is the best dish of the night. No contest. Grilled Ahi Tuna($ 36, with couscous salad, golden beets, lemon vinigrette) — My friend’s girlfriend ordered this, and there was a good piece of huge ahi tuna(sliced). She rather enjoyed this dish. I would totally order it next time, if I weren’t getting three orders of the octopus appetiser for my main. Angust NY8oz w/Brandy Peppercorn Sauce($ 36) — My friend ordered this, and I had a small bite. It was very very tender, more tender than my 8oz fillet. Prime 4oz Fillet and Broiled Lobster Tail($ 22 + $ 36 addition) — This was my meal; the fillet probably should have been ordered rare, as the smaller steak takes less time to cook than a bigger 8oz. It was still nice and tender, though. The lobster tail was a cold water one, and it was way too salty. I told the server, and he fixed it by having the kitchen make a half lobster from a different area. Much better. Truffled Gnocchi($ 12) — This side was really nice. The gnocchi was so fluffy. It was a winner and I’d order it again. Our table of three’s bill came to $ 175 + $ 14 tax. We split the bill, so I’m not sure what the final final cost was. Our server was Jake, and he was fantastic! Overall, the meal was great and I’d love to come back. Service gets 5 stars.

It’s been a non stop mini celebration before my actual bday in a few days. I’m super excited to try this place because Adam D has been a fan since he dined here on a business trip. A very good friend James M who flew in for my bday was with us last night. We both perused the menu prior to our 7pm reservation. I saw Ribeye and my search stopped immediately. Brandied Peppercorn for my sauce. Done! Their Ribeye comes in two types. The Prime and Angus. Boned In or not. I chose the Boned in Prime. More marbling is my preference and if you’re like me then choose the Prime as well. It was a good piece of meat. Thick and although it came as medium rare when the server suggested medium I still devoured what I could. Meaning I couldn’t finish what I started! For this battle steak won. Woman lost! Tasty as is but don’t be shy in dropping a bit of that awesome sauce on your meat. It’s one of the best sauce! It comes on the side by the way and leaving the steak all open in its glory for you to enjoy without the sauce’s help! Believe me the steak didn’t need the help of that awesome brandied peppercorn sauce! It’s just as amazing by itself! Our beet salad was amazing and the colors were very attractive. The flavor was all beets and a few morsels of little crunch here and there to bring out the beet flavor was added but otherwise it’s all beets! Earthy and lovely! Mushroom as a side was a great idea! Get this! The Crispy Brussels Sprouts is a must! Order this! It had that zing to it courtesy of maybe some vinegar? But it was delightful! For dessert we chose something with a Rolo. Get this! The Rolo part was the star! Soo creamy! It’s a hockey puck size and shared between three people. Next time I’ll get my own Rolo! Guard and Grace is only 18 months old. Guard is the awesome chef and Grace is his 5 year old daughter! How awesome is that name combination? Their delicious food. The way they serve you and cater to you hides the fact that this establishment is very young. Our server was on point with his suggestions. Very seasoned like their dishes. I think he said his name was Nathaniel! Outside seating available! While waiting in the lounge for our table can’t help noticing that wall of wines. Yummm! Free valet parking! That’s sweet!

Bestie grabbed me and got at this joint for my birthday. Did not disappoint. First off, homie brings complimentary champagne to start, but even better(gasp) is the birthday card they had sittin’ at my booth, signed by all the wait and kitchen staff, with some authentic-type scribble, too. All jokes and radness– nothin’ generic like them slam books, bein’ all«Have a great summer.» When inquirin’ on the GF and kosher tip, my man came correct. And when he wasn’t sure, he checked with the kitchen and the floor manager, and they double checked and found that the chefs, bein’ the culinary geniouses they is, augmented and shook up the ingredients a bit, for good reason, they swung by and gave the full lowdown so we knows they’s lookin’ out for us. Solid communication and consumer focus, yo. Admittedly, at first I was like, «Yo…» but caught myself quick because every move they made was on the lookout for me and bestie. Went all courses, yo, cuz I’m gettin’ ooooold and that’s cause to celebrate. So much wisdom, right? Every drink on point. Every dish supreme(in the superlative-est sense of the word). Yo, even the layout of the joint is choice. Just wrappin’ around with oysters on display and staff all smiles and hellos. I’m uh be hittin’ this spot for happy hours, special occasions, random occasions; it don’t matter. No overstatement: the illest.

We came here for dinner last week. We had reservations for four! I was a little taken back by the layout in the business high rise(very London looking) We are seated and the place was packed… We are sat in a booth which I liked. Our waitress Francesca was very friendly . We start with a cheese, meat board and octopus .all very tasty. Octopus was not my fav but still good. I order the chicken … It was tender and for barely eating meat I didn’t mind it at all… Everyone seemed to enjoy the entrees they ordered as well… So I’m so stuffed by now but had to get dessert … I choose the waffles for dessert .They were the best waffles ever! I loved them ! All in all we had a lovely time .they layout was just a bit awkward but who cares the food and service was amazing — we will be back when we have some extra cash to spend on an evening out — thanks!

Excellent lunch today plus great service from Jay. We had a bit of everything and loved it all. My fav was the Basil Lemon Drop cocktail which was so yummy and the Roasted Octopus! I will come back just for those alone. We also had the Salmon Mousse, Sturgeon Caviar, House Charcuterie Tasting board, Caesar Salad, Side of Gnocchi and the Garden Grace cocktail. These were all good. Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu ! Warm cookies were delivered to the table with the check. Nice surprise and nice touch. Tip: They have Valet right on California in front of the restaurant…

Went here for my early birthday celebration just before watching Wicked. Let me just say HOTDAMN! I love this place! The moment I entered the restaurant I was greeted warmly by the hostess. She was very nice and so we’re all the waiters and servers. The restaurant itself was very chic and wonderful for special occasions. P. S. Their sofa/cushion chairs were terrific– so soft… I could sleep in it after eating all the food! When my boyfriend and I were seated, our table had a happy birthday card with the signatures and greetings from the staff. Great touch! We also got bread and an amuse bouche which was AMAZEBALLS! I’d be set of I had 10 of those! We got drinks and mine was the garden grace which was gin with carrot-apple juice and cider. Makes you feel sort of healthy you know? Haha We ordered to share the filet mignon flight, truffle gnocchi and the oak fired foraged mushrooms. WOW! Just WOW! The steaks were cooked perfectly and we loved comparing and tasting the differences of each of them. The gnocchi was so fluffy, like how they are always described but I never really understood til then. The mushrooms were delicious as well, the sauce really complimented the steaks and everything! We still had room for dessert which we chose together. It was a strawberry concoction overload that had strawberry sorbet, strawberries, and crisp meringue cookies to boot! Overall… If you learned anything from this review its this: GETOVERTHEREASAP and try anything and everything because you won’t be disappointed!

Swanky steak restaurant in downtown Denver. One of the best restaurants we’ve been to. Service was great, fancy space with chill lounge music, and the dishes all stellar. Bolognese — little spice and very nice. Dash of red pepper flakes gave the dish a nice kick. Pretty presentation and delicious. Steak — husband loved it. Charred, flavorful and rare center as requested. Smashed potatoes — a simple but tasty potato side. Chipotle lime was a good subtle flavor addition. Greens — very surprised this fancy restaurant can do greens like a southern kitchen. Loved them! Silk chocolate creameaux — SO good. Chocolate and salted caramel lovers will rejoice. This restaurant is obviously suitable for a romantic dinner, a business dinner, or happy hour. If I had an expense account, this is where I’d wine and dine clients or have a meal while in town for a convention. The steak house was finer dining than we expected. An absent kids meal menu and their décor and clientele made us realize this probably wasn’t the best place for kids, but they were very accommodating, making a special sliced vegetable plate and offering small plate suggestions. Our server Luke was awesome — very professional but with personality. Hostess was friendly and helpful. No complaints whatsoever. Great dining experience.

So this week was my girlfriends birthday, we decided to have a special night at Guard and Grace. It was a good idea. Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted immediately. Our table was ready, once again. Immediately. On the table was a birthday card, signed by all the staff wishing here a very happy birthday. Right off the bat the experience was personal. It felt like they all actually cared about our night. Next, the food game on point. They first brought out a little something to warm up the pallet that was grilled then chilled meat. Wrapped around some crunch(I really wish I didn’t forget what all the ingredients were for this) In all we ordered the Divers Scallop Ceviche, Filet Flight, the Gnocchi, and the Mushrooms. Oh and the, Etons Mess for dessert. It was the perfect amount of food. We were full and satisfied. The Scallops were unlike any flavor of scallop that I have had in the past. The new is better. I couldn’t believe all that fit into one bite but the only downside is there’s only five hah. We will definitely be back in the future.
