This place is actually now called Mile High Pizza Pie. I discovered this place maybe a little over a month ago as I was wondering around downtown looking for lunch. I am so glad I found this place, and I honestly go here a minimum of 2 times per week for lunch. There is just something amazing about a fresh salad, fresh out of the oven pizza and all you can drink soda for under $ 7.00 for lunch. The salad is amazing, basic and perfect. The veggies are super fresh and crisp, and I’m in love with their Italian dressing. The pizza slice is enormous and tastes so good. Thin crust, yummy sauce and I like their cheese. All of this while sucking down a big bubbly soda. Does it get any better than that? The place is super small, so I usually go after the lunch hour rush. The ladies that work there that ring you up and bring your food out are so sweet and helpful. The new owner rocks, and one of the other guys that works there is super awesome too. Kinda feel like I’m not in Denver when I’m at this place. It’s kinda like I’ve walked into a pizza joint in NYC. Granted, I’ve never been to NYC, but that’s what I assume it would be like. :) Even better it’s not on 16th Street Mall, but just close enough to be able to get there easily. I avoid the mall like the plague, so being able to walk down 17th and take a left on Stout and you are right there is perfect. Mile High Pizza Pie, I love you and will see you tomorrow.

Decent for a quick lunch stop. I had the lunch special and got out of there under $ 8 for a single slice, salad and drink. I liked the salad, for a place like this it was more involved than the usual shredded iceberg with carrots and cabbage for color and a mealy tomato wedge. The food runner/busser was totally busting ass the whole time which helped maximize the limited seating and table space. I had the«white» slice which is tomato-basil-ricotta. I was hoping for more of an olive oil/garlic kick with less ricotta, but it wasn’t bad. I didn’t leave dancing a jig, but I wasn’t running for the nearest restroom either so that counts. My co-worker seemed to enjoy his«big as your head» calzone. Agree with other posters that the main plus was the lack of grease. My Pizza Peel is appealing people, so put preferences, protestations, or pontifications aside and partake in some pleasing pizza pronto.

First off — this place is recently under new ownership. The new owner rules, and knows how to make some damn good food. The pizza here is amazing. Flavorful sauce and perfectly put together. Quality ingredients and not shy on the toppings. This pizza is really the best I’ve had in CO. When we went in there, they upsold us on the garlic knots, which are awesome. Then they followed up by giving us free samples of a bunch of stuff. A real neighborhood feel. Highly recommended!

I would have to say that this place was a very good experience eating in. It was very affordable when I went(this was when they had the Stimulus combo, I think). Not the best I’ve ever head but it was pretty yummy and great for the price!

I wanted My Pizza Peel, to rock my socks off, but it just didn’t. it did fix my pizza craving, though. The pizza was ok. I got a slice with tomato and a slice with meatball. I could have certainly stopped at one slice; they were big. The crust was just a little too thick and the sauce was a little too bland for my tastes. I’d have no problems going back if I’m near that block and am wanting pizza, but I don’t think I’ll make the trek half-way down the mall just for their pizza.

I really wanted this place to taste as good as it smells; however, it just doesn’t. The service was not bad and the pizza is not terrible its just not outstanding or something I’d crave. For a little under $ 6 I got a slice, a drink, & a half order of garlic knots(although they look like cinnamon rolls which is cute). The food was all quickly prepared but everything lacks taste. No hints of basil or garlic. No oregano or Parmesan cheese. I was disappointed.

We try to hit this Pizza joint a couple times a month. Of course it helps that it is practically caddy-corner to the office. The special they are running on their specials is nice to. I think it is $ 5.99 which includes the drink. I really love the fresh salads but always request an additional dressing. My favorite special so far is the stuffed slice of pizza. As long as they do not over reheat it, its pretty darn good. I know others have mentioned the limited seating and that is a fact. Might hurt them in the winter because the outside seating will be useless.

This is a decent lunch spot. They have a bunch of great cheap lunch specials but you have to stalk people down for a table if you actually want to eat there. White pizza was tasty and if you get the one that comes with garlic sticks you get a ton of them! I’ll definitely try it again to get another cheap-o lunch special. I’m also dying to try one of their calzones!

I’ve wanted to come here for some time, so tonight coming home from work I decided to have dinner a little early. I stopped in for a couple of slices and was pleased with my decision. I went with the neopolitan crust and added a couple of toppings. My slices were not too big to handle and the crust was thin and crispy. I like the fact that you can walk out of here with a decent meal for less than $ 10. My 2 slices and bottled water came to a little over $ 6. My Pizza Peel gets my vote and I will definitely come back for another slice or two.

Solid pizza, not the best of the best, but better than any national chain pizza and better than a lot of local pizzarias. Good side salads. Nice variety on the menu, good lunch specials. I have really grown to love this place. I love the fact that they are consistent here. My food has been the exact same all 4 times I’ve been in. The restaurant is also decorated nicely with good graphic design elements to make it seem new(which it is) and inviting. They seem to be really into sports, too, as there are signs on the drink machine and walls talking about how everybody wants to know if Jay(Cutler) wears Pampers or Huggies. Lol, I got a kick out of that. Anyhow, this is a great lunch spot downtown. For $ 6 – 8 you can get a filling and tasty lunch(with a drink — fountain or bottled water). It’s literally right where the southbound train stops, so for me, it’s convenient to finish eating and walk out the door and hop right on the train to head back to my office. Definitely give it a shot. It’s not the world’s best pizza, but me being somewhat of a pizza snob, I have enjoyed each slice I’ve had there. Good stuff, My Pizza Peel, keep doing your thing. I’ll be back. Next time I have to try a calzone!

Our office(less than a block away) has been waiting for this place to open for some time. On their opening day they did give away free slices and we all went and all got some. It was quite generous and we didnt have any issues like some other reviewers. Pizza Peel has a wide variety to offer. Strombolis, calzones, stuffed pizza and pasta in addition to pizza. They have a nice list of combos that all include a drink(Pepsi products) for 6 – 8 bucks which is a good deal for lunch downtown. The shop is small but tastefully decorated and clean. There are 2 registers for faster service and a small seating area outside. If you are a fan of Anthony’s then you should try out My Pizza Peel. It certainly can compete. I have had the regular and stuffed pizza and a stromboli. One more thing that I would like to mention is that the staff is quite friendly and helpful. It is yet to be determined that this is due to it being new on the block or that they are genuinely nice.

First, I’d like to start this review by stating that any restaurant that gives away it’s ENTIRE first day’s profit to a local community charity is really awesome in my book. GREATJOBGUYS! I have eaten here twice since first day, and the slices are better each time. The crust is OK, the sauce is standard, but the toppings are a little shy. It tastes like a mall slice. Not bad, not fantastic, but filling, and tasty enough. If I were downtown everyday, and faced with that dilemma, I’d be glad of a new option. Will I make a trip for it? Naa, I don’t think I would even if I didn’t eat Enzo’s every night. The place itself is nice, a little tight for the diners, but those poor cooks are stacked on top of each other like the pizza ovens! That is gonna be fun in say, July! I am eager for you to get the walk-up window facing Stout St. That will definitely pump up your business, as you can serve faster. All those power-suit people like that, as do the students jumping the light rail feet from that window. Good Luck, Johnny and CO, S

It’s a shame that I have to give these guys 3 stars, because I really like pizza and I really like local businesses. Alas, I went into the new My Pizza Peel and was pretty underwhelmed by the experience. First of all, my impressions weren’t helped by the fact that they advertised free slices(in return for a donation toward a cause to help the homeless in Denver) on their grand opening, and I was turned away not once, but twice. I first went a little after lunchtime(1:30PM) and was met at the door by the manager saying they weren’t serving anymore slices until 4PM. So I figured I’d return after work. Got there at 5:30, asked about slices, and was told they were closing. I guess I can understand the popularity of free slices and running out of those quickly, but it just left me feeling hungry, bitter and ungenerous. I remedied the ungenerous part by giving a couple of bucks to the next guy that asked me. So i headed over there for a slice today. Waited in line while the one cashier handled the transactions and 3 other employees mostly just stood there and occasionally delivered orders to diners. I ordered a slice of pepperoni… I could see the pizzas right in front of me, waiting to be served. However, I still had to wait 5 minutes before I got my slice. Since I got it to go, it was delivered to me in a huge styrofoam clamshell box. I hate styrofoam! When are business going to figure out that the paper clamshell boxes work just as well, and are much better for the environment? The slice was mostly ho-hum. The size of the slice warranted more than the measly three(3) pepperoni that were on there. Really, 1 more pepperoni and I don’t even mention it. The sauce was average, the cheese average. The crust was the best part of the slice. Crispy and chewy with some good flavor. Yeah, I’ll be back. But I’m more likely to try one of the daily special pastas next time.
