I’ve been back a few times for a large bowl of Chili to go. It is good with cheese but especially better with freshly chopped onions. It has the right amount of heat to warm me up when the temperature outside drops.

Just had theyre Pork Chop dinner. Pretty hard to screw up a pork chop. But theres this thing called seasoning. They should try it. Greek potatoes were good though. Garlic bread not impressive. I couldnt touch the Cole slaw it was just mayonaise more than anything. If you never ate there; you aint missed a Damn thing! If I could give negative stars I would.

The restaurant is your typical lunch/dinner spot for Gyros, hot dogs, etc. Recently ate there and ordered the gyros plate…$ 9.97 after tax. Included one pita and Greek Potatoes which were lackluster. There was a nice helping of gyros but nothing overwhelming. I have eaten here many times and with any Greek establishment have never received one item free. I have ordered lunch for 5 guys at the office and the total is north of $ 40 and they still charge $ 0.85 for a cup of cheese. I understand that in order to stay profitable items cant be routinely given away, but a gesture like a free cup of cheese would go a long way. Also has a $ 10 minimum for credit card purchases. Very average food in a competitive market but they just remodeled so somethign must be going right for them. Also dont like that hot dogs are not served Chicago style

I went here to get a hot dog and fries. The people at the counter were very polite, despite a very rude customer that was upset that he also had to order fries in addition to his burger… I got 2 char dogs, chicago style. They were charred well, and the buns were fresh. I’m pretty sure they were all beef hot dogs. The fries were just OK, they are frozen, I believe. I won’t order fries here again. The price was a little high, more than eight bucks for two dogs and fries, that’s a special some places, for $ 5. I want to try some other things there, like the spinach pie. While I was there, 3 people ordered spinach pie, so it’s probably pretty good. Also, keep in mind that they have a $ 10 minimum for credit cards.

Catching up on my reviews. This review will be only for their gyros sandwich since that is all I have had at this establishment. Stopped in here on a Saturday since I was driving by and was on a gyros kick recently. It was so hot inside of this place, I couldn’t wait to get out asap. Ordered a gyros. It was nothing special. On the dry side. Only OK. Gave me nothing for a return visit. Cheers to all

Love this family owned place. Amazing Greek food! We love the Greek lasagna, chicken kebabs and pork souvlaki. My husband just ordered the ribs from there and they were wonderful-fall off the bone delicious. We also cater from there a few times a year and never disappointed. Very clean too!!!

Evan’s Place is one of those local joints you order from at work because the pricing is decent and the food is ok. The ridiculous $ 20 minimum for delivery is more than most can bite off especially if you’re ordering for yourself for lunch. We’ve often gotten Evan’s catered to us at the office and the food is rather good. The BBQ Chicken, Gyros, and Greek Potatoes all stand out on the menu as things I have ordered more than once. While the Gyros are good, they don’t stand out as the juiciest meat. Along with some pretty good food, Evan’s is a great alternative for shakes if you don’t want to go to Steak and Shake or Buona Beef down the road.

Recommended. An independent, no frills, italian beef/gyro joint near our house. Prices are low, so you can afford to eat here. They give you a good amount of food for your money. We had the cheesy beef(italian) sandwiches with both hot and sweet peppers. I had mine«dunked» in the beef broth — resulting in a giant sogginess that had to be eaten with both hands(as the provided fork would have torn through the foil wrapper). A hard plastic plate would be ideal for the soaked sandwiches. You wont get enough napkins to clean your hands — but we didnt care. Tore through the meal and washed the broth and beef off our hands. Delicious! We’ll be back. Probably more than once.

My husband calls me a little piggy ’cause I love me some pork! Well, the pork steak dinner here was pretty awesome. My new favorite place near O’Hare.

Cheeseburgers over done. Rib tips nasty. Beef ok but small. Food not very good and over priced. Used to be a great place to eat, not anymore.

Place is awesome. Good bang for your buck. Nice size portions. Grilled chicken on a pita is great. Gyros good, kabobs amazing. Fries… Good… Healthy serving sizes and great owners. Give them a try. You won’t be sorry!

Always stop by Evans when in town. Love the spinach pie. Gyros and chicken souvlaki are both better than average! Don’t forget to order an extra pita when ordering a dinner platter. Their dinner portions are healthy:)

Not bad at all! Shiskabob was very good and a lot of it! Not skimpy like other places. Gyros was also healthy portion but as for taste it’s your standard pressed mulch of a gyro for this country. Recommend either Shiskabobs. We had both, flavor was there and loved it.

Tried this place several times for lunch + Polite staff(Not friendly, not rude either.) + Food arrives at proper temperature and after proper wait time + Very clean dining area + Very clean washrooms + Adequately priced + Good gyros — Food is bland. Tried the chili, soup-of-the-day, fries, hotdogs, chicken strips. Everything was bland. I like to support mom & pop businesses but given the bland food, will least likely go back.

This is a great place with very good food, above average service and excellent prices. The level of cleanliness here was amazing. Even the fake plants hanging from the ceiling had no dust on them. These people know how to run a restaurant. The greek salad was one of the best I have ever had. The kebabs and spinach pie were amazing. Big portions too. Don’t be fooled by the outside appearance or the fact that this place isn’t that busy. You will be mildly surprised. It’s more of a Greek fast food type of place and I honestly wish we had restaurants like this in NY. Unfortunately all the greek places here are overpriced and serve small portions.

Solid gyro, quick service, clean, no-frills surroundings, and terrific Greek potatoes! Definitely opt for the Greek potatoes; they were a hit, and reminded me of my cousin’s yia yia’s potatoes.

Went here for lunch and it wasn’t just nothing special. It reminded me of the places you see on kitchen nightmares. They server bbq, mexican, itialian, and other stuff. I tried the ¼ chicken and it was just eh. The ketchup tasted odd and the fries were like the fries from burger king before they changed them, a little oily. We we’re the only people in the place and only went here after driving by paradise pup and seeing the line. Next time we wait.

My dad and I stopped by here for hotdogs and fries. The hotdogs were good(love vienna beef) but the buns were a little… cold? The fries were pretty good. We sat around for a bit and then decided to share some delicious Italian ice.(I believe it might be homemade) I’m really glad we decided on this because otherwise I might not consider visiting in the future. Aside from the Italian ice this place really is just A-Ok.

Not a super place sure to become a frequent fave, but not bad either. We were in the area for lunch and decided to stop in. Inside, Evans has plenty of space for seating and a long order counter. It’s a Greek-run establishment with a number of Greek food items on the menu, besides the usual gyros. I went for an Italian beef and my wife had a Polish sausage. The kids had a grilled cheese and a hot dog. We split a generous portion of fries. Fries here are a love it /hate it scenario. They are coated, which gives them a different flavor than usual. We all liked it and enjoyed the fries. My Italian beef was seasoned a little less than I’m used to. I’m not a peppers kind of guy, so without added stuff on the beef, it wasn’t as flavorful as other places I’ve had beef. The grilled cheese was huge, enough for 2 kids. As a special treat at the end, we got soft serve ice cream cones. The ice cream was delicious and quite rich too. I can attest to that since my type 1 diabetic son had a sugar spike 3 hours later. This doesn’t happen with most ice cream places we visit so you know it’s got to be good. I’d go back to Evans, but I’d rather visit Papa Chris’ in Niles or Paradise Pup not too far away. Evans doesn’t really distinguish itself well from some of our favorite places in the area.
