I wish I had taken a picture of my grilled cheese… It was a lobster grilled cheese and two of my favorite foods are(take a wild guess)… And it was cheddar cheese; very important. The outside seating is really nice. Inside it was very busy and I’m glad we got a table outside for that reason and also because the view was very pretty since you’re on the water and there’s a beach area where you can hang out too. Hi run-on sentence. Anyway, I definitely look forward to having that grilled cheese again. And the muscles were good too. I got those as an appetizer and the two things I ordered filled me up just the right amount. Can’t comment on what it’s like in the winter. I’m probably not going to go when it’s cold, but it’s a great summer spot!

Had a terrible experience there tonight. When we arrived it looked almost empty, so we assumed we would get served quickly. Instead we waited almost an hour for our food. We had a 5 year old who was very hungry. He ordered the grilled cheese from the menu. His order didnt come for almost an hour. We had planned to take him to Funland afterwards, but he was following asleep at the table by the time we finished eating. Terrible service!

For decades this is been the place to go for Friday night happy hour. It’s called the taco toss. Just a view of the following sun setting is enough to make it a fabulous evening but friends and homemade orange and grapefruit crushes make it even better experience. Very cheap nachos and even a seafood bar can feed hungry happy hour goers. Live music.

Good bar food. I thought the portions slightly small but it could be because I am used to NYC large portions. I did fill up. We had the honey siracha wings and they were good. Nice place to have a brew.

I came with 8 friends and we were all really excited to have brunch here on Sunday after being turned away by some other local restaurants that had 90 minute– 2 hour waits. We were very pleased to be seated almost immediately and we were all enjoying the gorgeous water views. This is where things started to go downhill. We started off by ordering some Bloody Mary drinks and coffees. When the coffee arrived it was not drinkable. I don’t drink coffee, but my friends reported a «metallic taste». When we reported this to our waitress she only said«ok» and removed the coffees from our table with no apology or promise of a new pot. Additionally we waited for well over an hour for our food, and the restaurant was not even close to being busy. An apology would’ve gone a long way and we would’ve been happy enjoying the view and sipping our drinks but they never came and we felt like our waitress was avoiding us. Instead, we were all just sitting there with nothing wondering what was going on. Finally, when the food came out it was all at different times. My crab Benedict was really good and others in my party reported that they liked their food too. One person in our party had an inedible egg on their sandwich, which was quite raw looking. Once again no attempt to remedy the situation by our waitress, but she did remove that item from the bill, as well as the coffee. The two stars I gave are for the food and the view. The service was not good at all and there was no communication whatsoever. The waitress for the table next to ours did seem like she was attentive to her customers, so maybe we were just unlucky.

Please be sure to read my entire review. Warning it may become lengthy! I have been to The Lighthouse in Dewey several times. I have had some wonderful experiences here however after this past Friday nights events, I have no interest in returning. Last Friday I came to Taco Toss for dinner with my aunt and my 8 year old daughter. We grabbed a nice table on the patio(great view) and they had live music. It was such a great experience and not to mention the great food and drink specials during Taco Toss. We enjoyed it so much, we made plans to return the following weekend(7⁄3). We had a group of 7 adults and one child. One of the staff, I believe her name was Mary Beth(or something similar) went out of her way for my child. She was awesome! Thank you for that! Also the bartenders were wonderful. The crushes are delicious even at $ 8 a piece. However, at one point we went to listen to music and we were asked to leave in a not so polite manner. I took my child out on the deck while waiting on my group who was still inside The Lighthouse Bar. The security came up & was EXTREMELY rude and said«she has got to go! She cannot be here period!» I am not upset that your establishment does not want children on the deck or near the bar, I am very upset with how the situation was handled by your employee. I would suggest some signs about your child policy. I know the Rusty Rudder lets you know that after 9 their establishment becomes a bar. I was then stalked by this bouncer as if I were going to be sneaking back in to the Lighthouse. It was beyond crazy and extremely unprofessional. He shook his head as if I were a terrible person as we walked to the Rusty Rudder. I highly suggest skipping the Lighthouse if you have any children in your party and head over to the Rusty Rudder! The Lighthouse has not only lost my business for my summers in Dewey but also my Delaware family members who were frequent visitors even during the off season. I would suggest a «clean up» of some of your staff, specifically a couple of your security guys.

A great spot for a view and to enjoy some drinks but I wasnt impressed with the food. We got Oysters Rockefellar that had been sitting out cause the cheese and toppings were so cold that we sent them back to get reheated. The wings were pretty average and the menu was rather limited at least for lunch. Our waiter was great though and super friendly. The Taco Toss on friday is fun and the tacos are actually ok so thats what you should be coming here for but thats about it

What a joke of an establishment! The manager was sitting at the bar working on his computer while the remaining staff was looking at the variety of TVs. We ordered the oyster rockefeller and the clams oreganata and both dishes came out cold. The bartender was very nice and helpful with sending the food back for us and the manager didn’t even acknowledge the problem while he sat at the bar right next to us. When the food came back out we still didn’t enjoy the product and decided on getting the check. We will not be going there again and it’s a shame because there’s such potential with Hyatt Place right next door.

A group of 12 girls were in Dewey Beach for a Bachelorette party and decided to come here for a late lunch around 2 pm. After ordering we waited for about an hour and our food at not come so we asked the server what what was going on and she told us it was coming out any minute. After waiting for about 15 more minutes I asked to speak to a manager to find out the situation. Around that time four girl’s meals came out, most of which were cold. I spoke to the manager and asked him what was going on and he told me he just go there and didn’t know. He said he would come right back after he figured it out. About 20 minutes passed by and he still did not come by and we did not have the other eight meals and finally another manager came to speak to us(not sure what happened to the other manager). She as well said she just got there and wasn’t sure what was going on and she would find out. She came back and said she figured out the problem and that was neither here nor there and that our food was coming out right away. The manager did offer us a round of orange crushes on the house but we were so tired of waiting for two hours we declined. Our food finally came out and it was just so so. The manager came back with the check and said she was only able to give us a slight discount even though we waited approximately two hours for our food. The server came back after with our individual checks which were screwed up(one girl got all five orange crushes ordered in our group and she did not even get one). We asked if she could just do one large check and she said she couldn’t and proceeded to be extremely rude to us. We had to once again speak to the manager and tell her we didn’t need to be treated in a disrespectful/rude way. The manager proceeded to be rude to us and told us she manages five restaurants. I am not sure what that had to do with this situation. We finally paid the check and left right away. As we were walking out our server was speaking loudly so all of us could hear saying«Customers are so difficult, sometimes it’s not the servers fault». The manager heard this and once again proceeded to tell us that we were somehow wrong. Our group was definitely frustrated but never once said anything rude to either the server or the manager. It was completely disrespectful and people should not be treated that way. We were extremely disappointed in the lack of professionalism, food quality and handling of the situation.

Truly the best thing this place has going for it is a location. The outdoor seating has a beautiful view of the bay and is close enough to the nearby Rusty Rudder but you can hear all the music from the live bands clearly. The staff here is quite pleasant and we didn’t have a wait even though it was a busy Sunday night over the Memorial Day weekend. The menu is slightly more involved than your typical bar offering and the burger that I ordered came with a little crabs spread it was actually pretty good. However the fries were terrible and the salad I ordered was tiny and we split a plate of nachos to begin that was simply horrific. No cheese undercooked yet somehow burned on the very top. Just a nightmare.

Lighthouse was among the best place to eat in Dewey. The mussels were amazing, easily the best I have ever had! The service was good and the location was just perfect. It gets a bit crowded during the sunset but you could chill in the small beaches next to it.

You just drove at least two hours to get to Dewey. The«Taco Toss» is where your weekend begins. Grab your housemates, slam some tacos, enjoy the party vibe, and drink your share, then head back to the beachhouse and pregame with the housemates who got in late. THAT’S the strategy. Take it from a Dewey veteran. :)

Unfortunately Rehoboth Beach doesn’t have any beach bars and their outdoor bars are extremely limited as well so I took the Jolly Trolly down to Dewey Beach where there isn’t a boardwalk but there’s a decent night life selection. The Lighthouse Bar and Grill literally is at the base of an old deco missioned lighthouse and has a large outdoor deck(with both covered and uncovered sections) right on the water(on the bay side). The bar has a full menu, the only thing I tried was their crab dip which was delicious. Every night the bar has another very good special going on, the regular prices aren’t too bad though. Lastly it’s worth noting the the bar is flanked by two other proper beach bars, one that has lots of chairs on the beach and one that has beach volleyball and a connecting kayak rental/parasailing business.

Great Friday Happy Hour at Taco Toss, been going there every Friday for years. I get good and hammered before it gets too packed(about 7 p.m.) then I head home and continue my pre-game there with house mates. All in all a great place, reasonably priced food and drink. Only complaint is they need to bring back the HUGE32 oz. beer mugs from years past, those 12 oz. Dixie cups are for kids. The 32 oz. monster mugs were the best. If you still have one, they will fill it for the old price– at least that’s what the manager told me !!

What a dump. Slow service, poor quality food, unhelpful manager. Worst restaurant experience I’ve had in several years. My family(group of 8 with 2 young children) ordered food including 2 all-you-can-eat crab legs. After sitting at the table for over 60 minutes we only received 1 refresh each between the two orders. That is not all-you-can eat. We we complained about the service and food we were rebuffed by the manager. And then on top of cheating me on food they had the gall to charge a gratuity. Needless to say I will not return and will strongly urge people to stay far away from this dump.

This bar is absolutely gorgeous. Maybe it was the beautiful sunset and the view of the water, or maybe it was the $ 1 tacos for hours and hours, but I would come back here in a heartbeat! I have only been here for the Taco Toss experience, and it was a great one. Not too crowded, nice people of all ages, and yummy yummy tacos/nachos! New life goal is to buy a boat and barhop from bar to bar in Dewey Beach. With a designated driver of course. :)

4 Stars. First night arrival at Dewey Beach, came here for Taco Toss Friday and it was great. Friday night’s they have a deck party with a great view of the bay. $ 1 tacos from 4−9pm, also have hot dogs, nachos and queso, taquitos(beans and rice filling), and beef sliders(2 for $ 3). So you can get your fill on. Also $ 2.50 beers. They had an orange crush station with fresh squeezed OJ. I missed out on those. There’s a dj playing music. Its a very relaxing, cool party vibe. We got there sort of late at 8pm. By 9:30pm, the place really thins out after the Taco Toss is over. This is a great place to start off the weekend with friends. Can’t wait to go back, but want to get there earlier next time.

Only ever come here for the Taco Toss. Which isn’t bad until it gets too crowded… which is to say very quickly. Nice views and things but not the same energy as most of the other bars in town. Not bad but doesn’t measure up.
