I think overall the concept is good but quality suffers. 2 orders of food took 45 mins to arrived despite only having just 3 other parties present. I cannot imagine if its a full house. Both drinks and food quality is below average to say the least. It feels like someone experimenting with cooking skills at home. With that said, price is too high for food of such quality. Play area was limited and small just not enough to occupy kids for adults to finish a meal. I wish this would be another place for me to bring my kid but unfortunately my kid wasn’t even interested in the play area as she normally would in other similar playgrounds. Definitely lots of room for improvement.

Holy cow, this place is a joke. The waitress here is ridiculously slow and lack of a better word, stupid. Takes her forever just to realize she needs take our order. She came to ask us if everything is ok after 40 mins of nothingness on our table, not even water. Took almost an hr for 4 chicken wings and an order of waffles. The waffle was not freshly made. It was the frozen kind and still managed to come out cold and hard like a overbaked cookie. The iced coffee and tea was made wrong twice and took 50 mins to make. Come if you want to waste extra money and time for noise, slowwww service, and bad food.

A very nice & cozy restaurant with«heart» !!! Mom can take a break to eat to chat with friends while our little ones can play toys with other kids, they happy we happy!!! — half of the shop is playground area, packed with different toys, slide, little train… etc. Big restroom with toddler toilet, very convenient! — Vegi is fresh & Chicken is organic! it has a dish of «steam egg with minced pork» with delicious white rice(rice won’t too dry, good for both adults & kids) all these can tell the caring for health! Of course, you can go other restaurants for better taste of foods, but it may be full of msg, oil & sodium!!! — very friendly owner to check around always, it won’t be bad services !! Owner is willing to listen to customers, it is a good attitude to do things better!!! Pls support this little nice restaurant if you don’t want McDonald for kids as me! :)

I really dont understand the negative reviews of this place. This is one of the cutest places I’ve ever had a play date at. I LOVE the concept of letting your kids run around while you catch up with friends. There’s a beautiful young girl that watches over the kids. I witnessed her playing with my 1 yr old, making her laugh and smile. Any place that employs someone like that definitely deserves 5 stars. The owner is extremely industrious and super friendly. The food is great! We tried the café con leche, shrimp rolls and waffles. Will definitely be visiting this place any time I’m in the area.

I have visited multiple times with various groups and just as a family of 4. All of the trips were during dinner. This is a cumulative review of our trips. With each trip, I have ordered and tasted at least half of their menu items. The food quality and taste is inconsistent with each trip. Apps: fried chicken wings(not the same as the garlic chicken wings) had a lemony taste to it. Nothing special and noticed the thicker pieces were not cooked through. Shrimp rolls were good but we had pieces of shrimp skin in some of the rolls. They are much tinier than I envisioned. Octopus pork sausage link is just cooked pork sausage with cut tips to look like an octopus. Kids: Kids Mac has an overpowering salty, garlicky taste. Tofu patties are super dry and hard. One party was bland the other salty. Kids fried chicken is flavorless. Salad: Its a larger Verizon’s of the house salad. Sandwich: pork tonkatsu sandwich was average. The pork was under seasoned but the sandwich was drowning in the store bought sweet tangy tonkatsu sauce that I generally don’t like. Entrée: Pork ribs were ok. Beef stew: I was expecting an Asian sweet soy sauce inspired flavor but it’s a salty American style beef stew served with rice. Pork donkatsu needs seasoning. The steam egg dish is salty, tasty, and bland all on one plate. Very inconsistent with each bite. The bits of ground pork in the dish is unnecessary. It’s a few pieces sprinkled on like a garnish. Drinks: the ice tea w/juice is literally tea with the respective juice mixed in. Not very good. Ice coffee was ok. The watermelon strawberry smoothie was decent. Watermelon juice and strawberry juice wasn’t very good. I commend their efforts of not adding sweeteners to the juices/smoothies but they should make sure their fruit is ripe so the juices are drinkable. Dessert: green tea/matcha affogato is good. Probably the single best thing on their menu. Overall: food needs A LOT of improvement. THEPLAYAREA. I posted the sign that sits along the gate next to the bathroom that lists their rules. According to the employees/owners, there is supposedly a staff member always inside supervising. WRONG. Watch your kids(which eliminates the conveniences of taking them to a play area with full service food). The owner’s «office» is one of the booths. There she sets up her shop, her kid, etc. On every occasion except the last she was the person in charge of supervising the play area. When your head is buried in your laptop, it’s hard to supervise the play area. Researching recipes online should be done during off times. One visit, one child got hurt multiple times because they were left unattended. The last visit, a party group of kids were tossing the plastic balls aiming at my kids head(which they hit my 4yo in the head, and my 2 yo body). All while an actual employee was standing inside play area checking her phone and sipping water. I told the kids loudly so she would hear to not throw the balls and especially not at people(mind you one child is like 4 ½ ft tall without socks and probably is too old to play in the play area). After I stood there telling the kids to not throw the balls, in front of said employee, she didn’t budge. The actual play area, itself needs improvement. They placed the foam like tape poorly on the top and side edge of their tunnel slide and it’s peeling off and unsightly. The ball pit enclosure is no longer sitting upright and the mini slide ends right at the edge of the pit. I want to say it’s a safety hazard cuz that 4 ½ footer sliding down head first could have easily broke her neck trying to fall into ball pit or flew out of the ball pit into the play kitchen. My 4 yo flew into the back of an adult sitting against the ball pit side and her head hit the lady’s back. SERVICE: Make owner doesn’t speak English. Female owner does but she’s buried in laptop. Asian employee is in la la land. Other female employee is the only one kind of working. Took us 15 mins to order appetizers and drinks then another 30 mins for the food(only two parties there besides us, which is also the busiest I’ve seen for a weeknight). Lastly, there is a shelf of items in the dining area with items that can be purchased. One child tried to climb up one shelf to reach a toy and the flimsy shelf is top heavy and one wooden box toy fell on her head. The entire shelf shook. You can’t really anchor the shelf because it’s up against their glass storefront, but Safety hazard. Yes your kids shouldn’t climb up it, but they are especially if they see toys and making the dainty shelf top heavy isn’t smart. Overall, I will say I’m going to refrain from visiting again. They need to seriously do an overhaul, hire an actual cook or take cooking lesson. Improve play area. I would have made it a regular weeknight outing if either the food was good or the play area was good, but both are less than subpar.

Is this place for real? I don’t even write bad reviews but… how did this place get all these 5 stars? Now that I read them all over again, many seem very very questionable. First off, the food were not good at all! The egg dish was so bland, the ribs were so dry and chewy, and they even messed up on the easiest Mac ‘n Cheese for the kid, it has no taste at all. Oh and did I mention the kids meal came out last? Hungry kid means cranky kid, I thought this was a kids restaurant with«kids» being the priority? Guess not. Oh and not to mention that it took forever for anything here — from getting the menu, to getting water, to receiving what we ordered. I would give its service a 0 star if I could, because there was 0 service here. The playroom is small, and dangerously built like many others have already mentioned here. It’s an accident-waiting-to-happen kind of environment. My 4 yr old is mobile enough to maneuver around, but good luck to parents with any children smaller. There just weren’t enough things to do in the playroom, my kid got bored after 20 mins, luckily there’s no charge for play when you order food. Overall, it was a poor experience. Money would be better spent elsewhere for sure. Will not be back.

The WORST lunch experience EVER!!! My co workers and I have a tradition of trying new food places once a week, but after this experience, we may never venture out of our comfort zone again. We received a flyer in the mail which sparked our interest with the buy one get one half off lunch specials. It was right down the street and we have a hour break, so why not give it a shot. The Attic is located in the back of a very small strip mall, maybe 8 stores total, and they don’t have any visible signs from the outside. As you enter, they have very cute dining décor to match with the attic theme, though not very comfortable, they have throw pillows that add comfort. The play area looked small, but neat and exciting for small children. Considering we were on lunch and had no kids, there was no reason for us to enter the play area, so I cant offer much of an opinion on it.(Sorry). After the thrill of looking around ends, the nightmare begins. We were the only table in the place and it took the waitress several minutes to greet us. When she finally made her way over, she gave us the menus without much, if any interaction before leaving the table. She returned with a carafe of warm tap water and dirty glasses that smelt like eggs. With not having been there before, we all had a few questions about the menu. I asked if the mac and cheese was baked with a hard crust. She looked beyond puzzled and just shook her head making it obvious she didn’t know. We all ordered a lunch special which included tea, spring rolls and the entrée of our choosing. The tea was so disgusting that an entire bottle of liquid sugar couldn’t make it appealing. The pesto pasta was overcooked, dry and little flavor. The Mac and cheese that i ordered, was NOT baked, not seasoned and had a very peculiar taste. A woman, who I am assuming was the manager/owner passed by and I asked for salt and pepper. She told me and I quote«I know. I noticed it needed salt. I think he(pointing to the kitchen) forgot to add salt.» She returned with a salt shaker that was filthy and sprinkled salt on my plate, not asking how much I wanted, then walked away. I was completely grossed out wondering how she knew that MY plate lacked salt. DIDSHEEATOFFOFMYPLATE??? Not to mention the obvious that if she knew it was in need of something, why serve it to your customers? As I sit there with my plate covered, not able to eat ANY of it, my co workers can hardly swallow their food either. The manager returns to the table mentioning she forgot to bring us the spring rolls. Places them down on the table and… THEYARECOLD! At this point, I am beyond done with this place. I explain to her that I ate possibly 2 bites of my food, and I do not feel as though I should have to pay. She agrees to comp my plate. My co workers follow explaining that their food was dry and they were unable to eat much of it. She tells them, and again I quote, «We are not normally this bad. I don’t know what happened today.» WAIT… WHAT? your aren’t normally this bad? Who says that about their place of employment. She still requested that they pay in full and did not honor the buy one get one half off which was the reason we were even there. When returning to work, ALL of my co workers became ill with stomach illness and headaches. Please do yourself a favor and AVOID this place! It isn’t worth sacrificing your taste buds, chancing that they eat off of your plate or hours in the restroom. RUNRUNRUN!!! We will be calling the health department to report our experience.

Was excited to find a place that catered to kids AND you can eat at the same time. Awesome! Not. They definitely need to straighten out the kinks because there is so much potential. Perhaps it’s because they just opened 5 months ago but I hope they get it right. The table area where you eat was super cute. Wooden benches, cushions, and a tv monitor to watch the playroom. Bathroom was large with a changing bed, stool for the sink, and a tiny toilet for the kids :) With a café that is catered for kids, one would think that they would have the basic necessities down. Nope. The most annoying was that they didn’t have enough children spoons or forks… Whaaaaat? And there was light air conditioning to say the least… It was mad hot & stuffy! The kids were getting sweaty and grumpy. Food: so yuck, I wasn’t feeling any of my egg and minced pork lunch special and my friends sukiyaki udon. And those springs rolls? I had to flick those off my plate with my fingers because they were horrendous. Service was next to nothing. Kids room: there were so many dangerous areas: gaps in floor mats, uneven wooden slides/boards in a ball pit where kids can hit their heads on, obvious misplacement of ballpit and slide ratio, and too many toys in a small area … super cluttered with no one supervising the misplacement of toys. Super chaotic to say the least. Don’t think i’ll be going back with my mommy friends … =P

Came to the Attic for my friend’s baby shower. The ambience was hip, service was great. Most importantly, the food was awesome. I wish some of the party food could be served on the regular menu so that I could come back more often. I can see it a perfect place for family or just with friends to hang out.

Great concept but bad service and food. If you don’t want your kids to go hungry, don’t bring them here! It took over a hour and a half to get our food… The worst part was that the kids were served last! Hungry kids equal cranky kids… On top of that the food had no flavor. Their water tastes like tap water. Our whole party felt sick the next day. I do not recommend this place.

They have gotten better and better the last few times I came. From the service to the babysitters in the play area. I had put down a deposit for my daughter’s birthday party here. Some personal matters arose and I was not able to do the part here after all. The owner was 100% understanding and gave me back my deposit, no questions asked. I didn’t even expect to get it back when I told her I had to cancel, so it was a complete surprise and I was so touched. We will continue to come here and I will continue to recommend Attic Playground to all my fellow parents!

3 out of 6 times I am here they have private party and the entire place is closed. First time I got notification. Second time I was told they announce on Facebook. So I checked the Facebook book post the night before thought I was clear to go as soon as they are open the next day. Wrong! Private party again. Owner told me she put notification last week. WTF. Do you expect me to scroll down your entire Facebook page just to see if you are open or not? My advise is to always call before you go. The food is not particularly tasty but I am here so my child can have fun while I have something to eat so I am okay with that. This place has a lot of potential but for now I am an unhappy mama. I disappointed my child three times already. Food– doesn’t taste good Playground — not much varieties and not very safe. I always stay next to my baby so it’s fine as long as my baby is happy. Schedule — is a mess. Staff — is nice but I don’t think there’s much involved. Menu is super simple. BTW I can speak Mandarin so you probably will have expect less if you only speak English. I do appreciate they have a sink and toilet at kids height in the bathroom. Mama is frustrated.

Tucked away in the corner of the shopping plaza you’ll find the attic, diamond bars only Asian fusion restaurant that has a play place for the kiddos too(does Hawaiian pizza at chuck e cheese count?) Anyways, this spot gas a great concept, bring the kids to play and then get a restaurant experience too. Then the kid falls in love with the place, and for next year or two of your life you’ll be at the attic every now and then till your kid grows out of the phase. And on that premise they do a great job, they got a guy in the play area watching the kids, multiple cameras and a big screen TV to monitor the action, and enough things going on in the area to keep the kids busy till the food comes out. And when the food comes out, that’s when things go a bit downhill. The Tonkatsu sandwich I had was quite suspect both on size and on flavor. The pork had a very«bout to go bad» off flavor to it that was not bad enough to make you call a waiter over to check it out but not good enough to have complete piece of mind. Another issue was the egg dish my mom got. Steaming eggs takes awhile, but we had no warning of how long the whole process was gonna take. Not once did anyone let us know that Steaming the egg dish would take 30+ minutes until we had to ask the waiter to see what’s up. Alas, the dish was quite good, but the lack of communication from the staff to us was quite disheartening This place has the potential to be… just another Asian restaurant in diamond bar, at least from my opinon. Check out the attic if you think your kids will like the space, if not, I would recommend not going up to the attic.

Kids had a lot of fun. This is a great place for 2 year olds to 7 or 8 year olds to play at. Younger than 2 year olds can play as well but parents would have to supervise very well. It is a fun place for parents to bring their kids. We also liked the food as well. We order the steamed egg and pork dish and it was very yummy and tasty. The kids got the macaroni and cheese and the tofu and hamburger steak and that was good as well. It also came with veggies which was a plus. The food looked very fresh. We would go again!!!

Heard about this place through my brother and my other friends who went the past few weeks. Went there this morning right when they opened at 11am with my husband and our oldest son whom is 2 years old. The service was wonderful, the waiters and the young guy who oversee’s the play area were all extremely kind and respectful hence the only reason they are getting 3 stars. The food is bad to terrible… I ordered the spaghetti bolognese and it was extremely dry, had almost no flavor and the very minimal sauce. I was only able to force myself to take 3 bites since I was starving but it was just terrible… the side salad with sesame sauce was okay, good thing was that the salad was very fresh! I also ordered a cream of mushroom soup and it was so watered down, literally looked and tasted like watered down Campbells. I also ordered a «freshly squeezed orange juice» and my oh my. it was definitely freshly squeezed because it was so sour!!! My son had the steamed egg with minced pork kids meal and it came with carrots, broccoli, side of rice and a juice, he didn’t care for it much but then again, he’s 2 years old haha. I tried a bite and it was just bland. My husband had the tonkatsu sandwich, he said it was just okay. The play area is very small, there was about 4 other parents in there with their children and it was a tight fit to get around. There isn’t much toys for the children to play with. However, towards the end before we left, I realized there was a table around the corner and it had arts and crafts supplies so that was a plus. I think the business idea is great, mommies like myself look for places like this to take my son’s to on the weekends and even weekdays if he’s not at daycare but this place definitely lacks more activities for children(however, given the small amount of space at the location I can understand why the play area is so small) and immediately needs some change with their food. I am still in shock at how terrible my food was today. I was just waiting for the server to ask about the food so I could tell him because I really didn’t want them to think I was complaining and comp the meal, I just want them to realize the food(especially spaghetti bolognese) is so bad! After we left, my husband and I looked at each other and said we most probably won’t be returning anytime soon. I wish this place well and hope changes are made so maybe in the future we can give it a try again.

I was excited to try there with my family. However, I was disappointed with — not the place, but the staff. I saw one staff at the counter area touching/preparing the food and he was basically touching dirty tables and dishes as well. I saw another staff with bumpy white spots on his fingers and he served me food… That’s how germs spread around… Will never go back.

I came on a Monday lunch hour so it was quiet. The owner and waiter were so attentive and even watched my kid for me while I ate! I love the little details of this place — kid friendly dishes and utensils and sippy cups and even a smaller toilet for toddlers! My son loved riding on the train. Finally, an indoor playground that also serves good Asian food that my kid will eat :)

We had 4 kids with us so we thought why not give this place a try, it’s got a kids play area and have 4 stars(based on 37 reviews as of this writing) so it can’t be that bad right? WRONG! The first waiter did not speak English very well, I am a vegetarian, so I asked if there was anything on the menu other than the mac n cheese that is vegetarian friendly. He did not understood what I said. I tried several other way to explain to him, but it wasn’t till my aunt arrived 3 minutes later that could tell him in Mandarin that I am looking for vegetarian food.(they have very limited vegetarian selection, salads, 1 sandwich and mac n cheese) So we ordered 5 entrees and 4 kids meal. The kids meal and 1 entrée came in about 10 minutes, another entrée came about 13 minutes, But the rest of the entrée didn’t come till 40 minutes later!!! 40 minutes!!! The kids and the adults who had their entrée was finished with their food 20 minutes ago!!! What the hell!!! Its udon!!! how hard can it be? Also, the place was not packed, there was 3 other parties of 4 in the restaurant, that’s all!!! Well. good thing comes to those who wait right? so the food must be awesome!!! NOTTHECASE! Everything was average with some exceptionally bad! I had the organic egg salad sandwich, which is made«home style» it is basically a thin layer of egg salad few cucumber slices and slice of ham between your regular household toast. If you are expecting Togo’s style egg salad sandwich where they load up on the egg salad, you are in for a major disappointment. Attic Price $ 7, Togo’s price $ 5.59. The extra money you spent is definitely going to the perk of the kids play area. We also had the organic steamed egg with minced pork. It was very bland. You would think the minced pork would bring out the flavor, but alas you would be wrong. The presentation was good, the dish looked delicious, but once you start eating it, you are wondering what is it that you are chewing on, because there is barely any taste… your mouth is moving, but it tastes like nothing… Sukiyaki Beef Udon! Now this is the crown achievement! This is by far the worst we have ever tasted anywhere in the world!!! It was so sweet that you are basically drinking EXTRA strength sugar water! We added a whole cup of water in to the soup and it was still super sweet. Unbearable, could not eat it after a few bites. When we complained to the manager, she apologies and said to us that, «oh so sorry, I told the kitchen to check the taste before they ready the food, but they never do, so they just dump the sauce in there and I think they put too much this time.» Seriously, your chef don’t even know how his food creations taste like? umm… that’s quite reassuring… Kids meal was the only acceptable food, the mac n cheese was average, there is macaroni and there is cheese… it did taste very cheesy but is a bit on the salty side. To be fair, the manager did gave us 2 free pot of tea to compensate for the 40 minute udons that was soaked in sugar water… But alas, the damage was too severe. Even thou the staff was friendly, the time to prepare the food, the taste of their food, and the fact that the chef don’t even know what his food tatse like, seals it for me. It is nice to have a kids play area attached to the restaurant, but I will not be going back to the Attic.

I had so much hope for this place. It has a cute décor and inspiring menu. Healthy organic and kid friendly– nice change from loud, gaudy and unhealthy kid friendly stuff. My kids loved the playground but the service was so slow. The food took so long to come and there were only two groups of diners in the restaurant. The food finally came but they served my husband and my food first. So I ended up feeding the kids from my dinner and had to eat their kids meal instead. They also forgot about the milk with the kids meal and when I asked for it, we got a juice instead. Still the kids wanted to stay on, because of the great play area. So my husband and I decided to order dessert. The waffle arrived with no ice cream despite being promised that on the menu. Cute concept, great play area, so so food but service needs improvement. I will visit again to let them iron out the kinks.

First time here, and my experience was good. The staff was friendly. Food was yummy! My kids had the Mac n cheese and my older son and I had the lunch special steamed egg with minced pork. The lunch special came with salad, your choice of iced green or black tea and mini shrimp rolls, all for $ 10. The kids Mac n cheese had a huge portion and came with some veggies and sliced Oranges for $ 6. Not too bad! The reasons why I’m giving this place a 4 star instead of 5 is because the service is super slow. It took awhile for the waitress to take our order, and when our order did come out, some of our order was missing. However, the staff was prompt in correcting it. Also, the play area is very small. My kids did enjoy it though! Luckily we came when it wasn’t too busy, we even got seated quickly, but can’t imagine how kids can fit in the play area if they have a full house. Overall, yummy food, nice & clean play area, and very nice staff! Would definitely come here again :)

Super quaint and nice spot to grab a bite to eat. They are pretty new and is a bit hard to find but they are inside the Plaza. There is a small playground and play area for small kids/toddlers. I do not have any but I figured I should mention that since I think it’s a big deal here. As for the food, the menu isn’t super complicated and the options are quite simple. I got to try the Chicken Wings with garlic sauce and I thought they were very tasty. However, if I had a suggestion the sauce was kind of too much and I would leave it on the side and let the patrons dip the wings as they go instead. We also tried the Chazuke with Salmon Flakes and I thought it was very simple and delicious as well. Pour all the soup into the rice for maximum taste. What I reallyyyyy loved was my Mango Amazon Organic Tea! I just kept on drinking it and they gave me a refill too. I would definitely come back here for more of this tea. And to try the other foods, the clams looked good I’ll have to be back for those. The service was on point, very friendly and always checking up on us. Again this place is a little hard to find it’s inside The Plaza and is on the right side in the corner.

My dad picked us from work on a Thursday evening and wanted to try a new place for dinner. We usually like to try new places in the area, and we are bound to return if we love the food and service. Found this place through Unilocal.First impression when I first walked in: cute ambiance and playground for kids. Ordered the mini shrimp roll appetizer($ 7 for 12 small pieces), linguini with clams, linguini bolognese($ 10-$ 18 w/a small salad), and a cleanse smoothie. Service was a bit slow, and the server forgot about our smoothie. She handed it to us when we were about to leave. The staff was very apologetic and kind. and gave us the smoothie even after we told her that we no longer wanted it. The food was average for its price. Not the best, but it’s also not the worst. All in all, cute place/environment/concept with free wi-fi, decent service & food. I would probably only come back here for a lunch date with friends who have young kids since they’ll enjoy the playground; however, this would not be my #1 choice for food in the area(just my opinion). Maybe I’ll have a better experience next time.

Worst experience ever. Where do I start? Well here it is in a nutshell: they ran out of food, our food never came, the servers are untrained, and the play area was so small. We came in on Saturday around 2pm. They didn’t have a table to fit our party, so we split into 2 booths. They sat us but never brought out a menu. My cousin had to go get it himself after a 10 minute wait. It probably took the waitress a good 30 minutes before she actually took our order. When we ordered, it was disappointing to find out that they were sold out on 2 items we had wanted. So I settled on the beef stew. The waitress came back 5 minutes later to let us know that the beef stew was also sold out. So I asked for mini shrimp rolls instead. An hour goes by and our food is not out. Since our group was split in 2 tables/booth. Only 1 table got the food order and even that was incomplete. While we waited, we asked to buy an extra bowl of rice. Guess what? They were out of rice. Woooooow. A party that came after us got their food order and we are still waiting. By this time, the kids were so hungry. Needless to say, this experience has left a very bad first impression. We found out that our food order was never received in the kitchen. We ordered 2 mini shrimp rolls, a kids meal and 2 caramel custards. The staff and kitchen was a hot mess. Horrible communication amongst each other because by the time they tried to bring out our order, we only got one shrimp roll order. No kids meal. No caramel custards. The play area is small, I think it really can only accommodate 5 – 10 kids at a time. Let me say that this place is new. It’s always rough in the beginning. I get that. But this place had 3 – 4 servers who was seriously untrained, they lacked customer service skills and knowledge of the business. My daughter spilled water on the floor, I asked for help to clean it up and I was given a few napkins to wipe it up myself. But the spill was a whole cup so a few napkins wasn’t going to work. I would have had a better chance of feeding my kids going to McDonalds. At first I thought this place has 4.5 stars, it’s got to be good. After today’s experience I went back on Unilocal to read the reviews and I’ve noticed that most 5 stars are coming from accounts with zero to a few friends and 0 to 4 reviews. If those reviews were filtered then this place would average at 3 stars. My cousin sat with the owner and gave her some honest customer review. The owner was very apologetic but I think she also lacked business skills, because it’s management that should be responsible for staff training, from customer service, to food order management and to business model. I actually felt really bad for the manager/owner. I hope they took this experience to learn from it and to prevent it from happening to future customers. I won’t be back because it took an hour to drive from south OC. Not worth the drive to try here again. Owner: if you are reading this, I sincerely felt bad for you today because I could see how upset you were to know that you had customers who were very unhappy with your business. I know that it’s a new business but it seems like this business adventure is new to you as well because your kitchen was poorly understaffed and your servers seemed untrained. Tomorrow is a new day and I hope it will be better than today.

I step in thought it was noisy and with kids running around… but really not as bad. the kids has their own playground to play with… and the foods on the menu makes me wanna ordered everything. and we order organic chicken wings…(really really organic cause they are not«HONEY I BLOWUPTHEKIDS» like the supermarket chicken wings cause sometimes you wonder… are those chicken or turkey wings?) its taste like fresh chicken and with the avocado sauce yummy! the beef ribs, egg with beef and the clams are really yummy. I love food with NOMSG and no much salt and this is really my kind of restaurant! Even though the presentation is not really glamours with the modern twist but i really like the food to be down to earth, home cooking(not hole in the wall though lol) I will really recommended to bring all my friends here: with or without kids you will really enjoy the great time and good food… Did I mention the drinks… made with real fruit juice with tea I guess another good organic farm to table homemade cooking! Loving it!

I’ve been here 3 – 4 times now since they opened. Food: Their food is definitely better than their competitors like Chubby Cheek and Little Prince Café. Healthier options, and I can see them leaning towards the organic /gmo free direction. Cleanliness, appearance, and facilities: Very clean, cute décor, modern, and fun. Cleaner than Little Prince, and pretty much the same as Chubby Cheek. A little hard to find at first, but not too difficult. I appreciate the kids toilet in the restroom, whereas Little Prince and Chubby Cheek both don’t have that. Staff: Nice and friendly staff. The last time I came, they were a little backed up though. It had been 40 minutes since we ordered and our food still hadn’t arrived. When we asked the staff, he promptly told us they were backed up and the large table on the other side of the room were just getting their food and had ordered 2 hours ago. If they knew they would be backed up, they should have told us when we sat down and let us know ahead of time. They were more than willing to cancel our order though. My kids were getting really hungry and cranky, so we had to leave. I think they’re still getting the hang of things since they just opened, it can happen to any restaurant. They’re still working out the kinks and figuring out their staff. It’s understandable. Play area: Play area is interactive, a little on the small side(compared to Chubby Cheek and Little Prince), but I’m not complaining. I like that they are more eco friendly, using wooden play structures rather than plastic. It is definitely more geared towards children 3 and older though, so toddlers definitely will have a harder time here. I’ll definitely come back. I would recommend Attic Playground to parents of young children.

I was there the weekend before Christmas and it was quiet; the location is hidden behind Paris Baguette. I would give the food 3.5 stars because the taste was a bit blend. However, I am really glad that the owner put her effort into the menu, many organic and heathy choices; instead of serving kids deep fried snacks like some other places do. The owner and servers were definitely new to running a restaurant; one of their signature dish wasn’t ready when it was lunch hour and they forgot to bring us utensils. They were friendly but lack of experience. I would go back for another afternoon where I can enjoy a light lunch and my toddle can play til he is exhausted.

When I went in the place was bright and still had the Christmas spirit going on even though it was the Sunday after. There was a big Christmas tree by the front door with Christmas music still playing in the background. It had a good vibe. The restaurant employee saw our party and greeted us with a smile. I had ordered the Chinese style organic egg with beef. I think this is the first time i’ve seen a regular restaurant that used organic eggs. Most places that serve those are usually trendy health places. This place felt more family oriented. The salad was served first. I had picked the soy sauce flavored dressing and finished it even though i normally don’t finish my salads. I guess that is a good thing. Ate my greens. Side note: My other friends ordered the pork chop, beef stew and steamed eggs. We also had ordered the mini shrimp rolls and lemon pepper wings. The entrée was served. The egg with beef was soft and fluffy without being runny. We shared the four dishes among us. I overate as there was nothing left of my dish. I even ordered flan afterwards. That was gobbled up too. Overall i had a pleasant experience and i think my friends enjoyed it too as they also did not have any food left either.

This place gets an a plus for its décor but the play area is not safe for children of all ages. The infants play area is right next to the play area for larger kids and the play section is extremely cramped. There is one large slide for the larger children that requires multiple climbing areas all in wood and to the left and right of the slide, is not closed and is about 6 feet off the ground. This poses huge challenges for kids in between from 2 – 4 that are walkers but may not have excellent motor skills. They can easily skip on their socks and fall out of those openings or slip on their wait up to the slide. The entire play unit is wooden which is nice but some of the rope and pole areas are really only for older kids and putting it so close to the infants area makes it very difficult to keep them off those areas. If the restaurant is full, the play place will be over crowded with parents and kids. I really like the place, but will have to wait until the kids are older, at least 4 – 5 to enjoy. Toddlers up to 2 will also do ok, but will need constant supervision to be safe from the older kids.

First of all, I really want this place to be good, I REALLY do! I have been looking for a place to bring my kid to a kid friendly playground/restaurant for a long time in this area. Unfortunately, I would have to say that this place has fallen short of being good for both. We went there on the second day after their grand opening and the experience was truely lackluster Décor(4): brand new restaurant, looks good but a little small for being a playground/restaurant. Food(2): Where do I start? Is it super expensive($ 18) oxtail stew that is not a stew, the almost flavorless ochazuke soup($ 7) or the ok tasting but pricey tonkatsu sandwich($ 10?) I get that this place is a catering more to kids but they don’t even have the tofu hamburger steak on the menu that day. Allow me to elaborate, the expensive oxtail«stew» is really cooked oxtail served with rice with no sauce to go with it but some oil hanging around the bottom of the plate. If you envisioned a stew with sauce on it then you will be super disappointed like I was. The Tonkatsu sandwich was pretty much mayo + shredded lettuce + small piece of tonkatsu + two white bread with edge chopped off, which I do not think is worthy of $ 10(?) price they are charging. Overall, the value is not there for the food and if you want to justify the price tag with the kiddy play area then you will be very disappointed there as well(see play area review below) Service(3): Nothing to write home about, as average as it get at a Asian restaurant. Play Area(1): Play area is almost made exclusive with wood. There is a small ball pit with a small slide, monkey bar, and a larger tubular slide. The composite wood playground does not seem durable as three ball-holds that’s suppose to give kid a holding point on the climbing wall has already fallen off, which terrified me a little when I saw one of the ball lying on the ground. It’s one thing that the play area is small but when it is also not safe then it gives me a lot of angst as a parent to allow my kid to play here. It’s getting the 1* because the safety issue(frankly 0* if I can give it). If you want to stay off from the playground set, there are also a couple toy bins and a train that goes around in a small circle that will distract your kid for … 2 or 3 minutes or so. Overall, a disappointing experience for myself as the parent, but since my kid did not get hurt and seems to have some fun playing here, I am giving it a 2* on Unilocal.I will not come back to this place and stick with Chubby Cheek close by.

Finally a restaurant to eat at that is kid and adult friendly with wifi! There really is no restaurant with good asian fusion food and a free arts and crafts area with an indoor playground for adults and kids. Nowadays, I can only think of McDonald’s that has an indoor kids playground with restaurant. The restroom is so cute too… small toilet for the little ones. The décor is rustic and homey. On to the food… I had the steamed organic eggs with minced pork. Looks like a bowl of cooked egg with pork… it was delicious with rice and soy sauce! I also tried the udon with clams and it was okay. Baby emilia enjoyed the spaghetti and also loved the indoor playground and toys. Note to self… no more spaghetti unless you want a huge mess everywhere. For dessert I loved the green tea affogato with an extra order of vanilla ice cream… that 2 together was off the hook! They also have sandwiches, coffee, tea, smoothies and juices. I’ll surely come back to try out the rest of the food. It’s a Great new spot to hangout and chill for a while for adults with young kids! :) Geat idea and concept for a restaurant… I can enjoy tea/coffee and a light snack with my friends and my child has fun too. There’s 2TV’S in the eating area with cameras so you can see your child playing while enjoying your food. :) Loved the experience!

I love everything about this place! Must try — Mini spring rolls — Chicken wings in garlic sauce — Oxtail stew — Chinese style scrambled eggs with beef In fact, I could list everything on this menu :) The workers were friendly and the restaurant had a pleasant ambiance. All to say, will for sure return to this place for their delicious food.

Our family visited this restaurant and playground space for its soft opening and we loved the look and feel as well as its delicious food. It was a little hard to find at first. The interior looks just like something out of a West Elm catalog with all the wood surfaces and modern furniture. The environment felt cozy and the food was tasty. We had the oxtail soup and chazuke with Salmon flakes. The playground area was very colorful, clean and safe. My niece just enjoyed it and I’ll be back.

First day of soft opening today. Took my daughter for a late lunch. Place is very charming though hidden from the street. Look for Paris Baguette, go inside of the building and turn right. I hope they put up a nice hipster sign outside to better direct patrons. There’s a very nice indoor playground adjacent to the restaurant for young children. I was surprised to find there’s a fee for the kids to play in it. I can understand if a family doesn’t eat at the restaurant to charge them for using the playground but I think it should be free for customers who dine there(perhaps at minimum amount of the dining bill). Since today was cash only(they’ll take cc in the near future), I only had $ 18 to spend. We ordered the chazuke with salmon flakes and the steamed egg with minced pork. They gave us a complementary plate of chicken wings while we were waiting and that turned out to be the tastiest dish we had. The two dishes we had were a bit underwhelming, even more so because they were a bit pricey. I may return to try other dishes and their drinks.
