Good spot if your looking for good authentic Mexican food, prices are decent, & the portions are huge(super wet burrito) as a local from the area I go occasionally but foodwise it hasn’t let me down yet, I would definitely recommend this spot to eat at if your craving some Mexican food

Call before you go to see if they’re open. Drove all the way from Sac because we heard about how awesome the food is and they were closed. Maybe next time.

When I left Southern California I thought I was saying goodbye to real authentic Mexican food. Finding this place was awesome. The Carnitas are amazing! Their Super Burrito is ginormous, and spicy as well. The staff were very nice and friendly. I highly recommend this joint! I will most def be a returning customer.

Always great food, quick. Just beware of the high school breaks and lunches because it gets packed.

Pretty delicious food and a decent spread to sit down and enjoy your meal– if that’s what you’re looking for. Today, however, I was looking to take some food and run. I almost skipped out on the place because it looked like it was sit-down only. Asked to take it home, one of the waitresses replied«yes, it’ll be about 10 minutes though» so I sat and looked around. I’d ordered the special– a taco and two enchiladas with rice and beans for $ 7.25 and when it came out, I took it home on my bike. Asking for salsa, I was directed to the rear of the dining room where they had prepackaged some salsas. So I grabbed a few«hot» containers. It came out of the kitchen in a styrofoam container in a plastic bag which I hooked on to my handlebar and rode home. Expecting it to be cold by the time I reached home, I was pleasantly surprised to find that reheating the container would have been redundant– it was still piping hot. The taco was the standard two small corn tortillas with cilantro and onions topping the flavored meat. Delicious. Two enchiladas swimming in sauce(a good thing) with melted cheese on top sat next to the very well flavored beans and rice. Also delicious. With the large number of seemingly similar establishments in town, I’m glad I tried this one.

I was here the other day and was noticing that everyone was doing a good job by attending customers and being very helpful and polite. There was this one girl short and skinny and colored eyes and she was very rude and ignoring us when we needed things. She saw us walk in and just stood there and didn’t help us, while everyone else is busy helping others. We sat down and she just stood in the corner and didn’t attend us.

Love the food at this place! The shrimp a la Cora plate is my go to here & the best I’ve had anywhere! The shrimp today were crisp & succulent but ultimately it’s the perfect blend of spices in the sauce which makes this dish so amazing! I’ve also had the shrimp fajitas which are awesome! The shrimp come out on a bed of red, yellow & green bell peppers sautéed together with white onions. So so delicious! The only constructive criticism I have for this place is in regards to their salsa & tortillas. If the tortillas were homemade & the salsa were more spicy/less tomato flavored, this place would get an A from me.

On Fridays, the special is a taco salad with your choice of meat, rice, & beans for less than $ 7. Food: I love the chips & salsa! I don’t eat spicy so the salsa was bold with just enough spice for me. The portions are large & both times I ate here, I needed to pack my food to go. The food also came out in less than 10 minutes both times. Service: I am always seated promptly & the waitresses are super nice! Water & chips/salsa were always brought out quickly. They also checked up on me regularly. The leftovers are still very tasty! I don’t live in Dixon but I would definitely come back if I’m craving some Mexican food!

What you get here is pretty simple. Great chips and salsa followed by generous portions of delicious authentic Mexican food of your liking. All at a very reasonable price. Not really sure why there’s all the negative comments about service, it really isn’t that bad. Might be because it’s not your typical restaurant. You seat yourself when you walk in, you might have to flag someone down when you need something but it’s not that hard to do and they respond very fast. I guess some people want helicopters hovering over them that refill glasses as they take a sip or something. And then you need to go to the register to pay, they don’t drop the check off at your table. OK, so it’s a bit different but not really that big of a deal.

We had an order to go – nachos, a crispy veggie taco, and a side of french fries for a quick lunch. The service is really pleasant, fast and our order was ready for pick up when we arrived. The nachos were a bit disappointing — the chips were really soggy, there were hardly any beans except for a few smears of refried beans at the very bottom of the container, the chips were topped with chopped tomatoes, white onions, and fresh cilantro and covered with sliced jalapenos, so it was not exactly what I was expecting and not very tasty. The veggie taco was o.k. and actually had some good spicy salsa on it that I wish had been put on the nachos. The refried beans were good too and wish they had put them on the nachos as well. The only negative — the entire taco was smothered in sour cream which made the crispy taco not so crispy. The french fries were a generous portion except quite a few had black spots on them so we had to throw them out.

Came in with 10 of us with no reservation. Had to wait to get seated, but not long. Service was great. They were very attentive. Food was good, but not great. Portions a little on the small side for the price, but not too bad. There’s a mariachi band there(we went on a Sunday). Very loud.

I ate here recently and can’t remember the dish but I DO remember loving it. The chips & salsa, the food, the service we received(even though it was packed), the décor, and the mariachi — Five stars all around! And I can’t wait to go back for more :] Great find in Dixon.

08/27/2015 I’ve probably only had ONE good service here. Amazing food. BAD service. Just went in again today and a girl there with black hair and glasses was extremely rude. Very unprofessional. Need to start hiring better waitresses with better attitudes.

My boyfriend and I tried this place out about 3 years ago and we love it! Every time we come to Sacramento or San Francisco we make it a point to stop her. It’s right off the freeway so it makes it easy to find. We love Los camarones a la Cora.

Went here yesterday, prices were much better than other Mexican restaurants in the area, however the service wasn’t. I didn’t have a bad experience, but it felt like once our food arrived, the waitress couldn’t be bothered with us anymore; even with the restaurant less than half full. Seemed like she felt a little agitated when I asked for more chips and salsa. Food was great though, so I might go again for that reason.

Some of the best carnitas ever, I just had them ad part of their Sunday lunch special. Very good deal for the price and I will be coming back when I am in Dixon. My parents meals were also huge and very tasty looking. I left very full.

We come here occasionally when we don’t feel like driving out of town. The food is pretty standard taqueria grub but the service can be painfully slow at times so we usually get takeout. On top of tacos, burritos, enchiladas etc they have a lot of seafood items and combos on the menu, and also offer some meats that you can’t find at every Mexican place such as lengua. Downside is that they don’t have Al Pastor which is my favorite(Adobada is not exactly the same). Prices are OK, the dining room is spacious, but the décor is slightly odd with those huge wooden chairs. I kinda liked the way it looked before they had a fire that almost torched the whole place down and forced the renovation. They also have a food truck in Winters so if you liked food there you will have no complaints here or vice versa. I just wish the service was more attentive and they would check on the tables more often instead of dedicating their time to endlessly scrubbing the floors with industrial strength cleaner. Both times we dined in lately, there was this really strong unpleasant smell of Pine Sol all over. Also, salsa bar and more variety would be nice instead of having the waitress all the time for refills of one salsa they have. Will update the review soon as there are not that many places to eat in Dixon so we will surely be back here… If they can pick up the service a bit I don’t mind bumping the rating by a star.

Some of my family went here last week and got treated like garbage. My uncle is a very laid back person and he didn’t enjoy his food. Told his family and they all tried it and agreed that it was bad. They said it was bad and wanted something else. They took the plate and gave him something new. Then they charged them for another plate! If your food isn’t up to par maybe you should take the small loss! They go there frequently and probably won’t anymore. And I know I won’t be giving them my money anymore.

Absolutely appalling the exceptionally rude, cold, and combative 3 muchachas who were working on the floor serving customers on Saturday, April 25, 2015. Seriously have not experienced anything resembling this nightmare in my life and I have worked in plenty of restaurants so I feel that I have a pretty keen idea of what is acceptable and absolutely unacceptable under any circumstances; as was the case at this particular establishment. Mindblowingly unprofessional! It’s difficult to explain the attitudes these servers had but it was best described as overtly rude and snotty. Examples would be slamming plates as they walked past the table and we were the only table being actively served so it wasn’t that they were rushing to attend to other tables. They truly treated us like they resented being there and they hated the sight of us. No exaggeration, honest to God. So many things happened that night in regards to the servers that it’s truly astounding.

Delicious food!!! Super FAST service!!! My family came in around 1pm on a Sunday with 9 people. They seated us in less than 5 minutes. Very friendly, fast and helpful. Took our drink & food order and brought our drinks immediately. Brought us chips & salsa — chips were perfect-not overcooked or greasy. The salsa was red, thick & chunky-so flavorful! Just enough spice, very mild. Food started showing up on the table –less than 10 minutes after ordering. I had the POTATO tacos(3-fried) comes with sour cream, salsa, cheese, guacamole. It also comes with a huge side of beans & rice. WOW. So tasty. We had the tortillas(home made?) — AMAZING!!! So much food, great service, really great prices. I wish I lived closer, I would eat here all the time.

We had the worst service tonight! I went in there with a group of friends at 8:30(they close at 10). We ordered and as we waited for our food the server started mopping the floor with Pine Sol. It smelled HORRIBLE! I kindly asked her to wait until we were finished eating and she said«I’m not doing it around you» rudely. She then went to the kitchen and slammed my friend’s plate on the table. She then continued to mop. She brought everyone’s food but mine. I finally got mine after a friend asked for me. They still continued to mop around us. I left. I couldn’t handle it. My friends and I will never be back. The snotty waiters were beyond rude! I would rather taste my food not Pine Sol!

I’m never disappointed with any food that I’ve ordered here. Most recently I’ve been eating their shrimp ceviche tostadas. I first ordered because of lent, but I’ve been eating a few times a week. Taco salad is awesome, fajitas are amazing… Everything is so good. The fajita veggies are super spicy to me, so I can’t go for those all the time. But they also always give us generous portions. Most of the time we call in our orders for pick up which I would suggest during the lunch rush. The ladies who serve are so very sweet. Great service.

The huge menu a little overwhelming, but we found most of the food to be very good. I had never heard of Alambres before, but it was particularly tasty and plentiful(as are most of the offerings). The one theme here that several reviewers have mentioned is the uninspired table service. We had to ask, twice, for enough utensils to go around after the first request failed to provide enough. No refills were offered for empty glasses. When our group of seniors asked for our check(so we could split it up at the table), we were told that all the checks were kept at the register and to pay there. So one member of our group went to the register to obtain the check, but was made to wait there for several minutes until someone noticed him. My preference for good Mexican food and friendly service in Dixon is La Cocina(out by Walmart). Even the youngest of the waitstaff there knows what real hospitality is.
