Had the Monday night tacos today and the quality held up to its reputation. Great kind service by the young ladies in the front and good cooking by the gentleman in the back! Friendly environment, winters is lucky to have such a good restaurant in such a small town!

Best chicken fajitas around. Not a fan of the chips but great salsa. Usually really good service.

Very nicely decorated taqueria. I ordered their Chicken Enchilada and Chile Rellenos which came with rice and beans. Ordered a Crunch Chicken taco to round out my mexican feast. It was very well prepared. Their rellenos were very good. Really enjoyed my meal here in this quaint little town. Will visit next time I am in the area for sure.

Horrible customer service. Ordered a carnitas burrito, was filled with fat and zero lean meat. I let the cashier know, they split it open and added meat in there to try and make me look stupid! They then ask me if I want the burrito rewrapped. WTF? Nah I want a new burrito. Screw this place, I’d rather eat dirt than return.

We loooove Chuys, when we walk in our server always knows we want a large guacamole. Pretty cool of them to know what we like. My father-in-law loves the shrimp My hubby gets the bean and cheese burritos(I craved these when I was pregnant) Myself crunchy Carne asda tacos Everything we have here is always AMAZING! The ambiance is relaxed which I like when I’m just getting off. I believe they have a day that they’re closed. I learned this the hard way when I was craving a bean and cheese burrito! I will always recommend Chuys.

Mediocre. Tamales had a slight burnt metallic flavor, as if the steamer had run out of water. The masa was tough and kind of dry at the edges. Adobada tacos were very bland, strange for this dish. On the upside, service was friendly.

Waiter was nice. Atmosphere was good. Had the nacho fries, fries could be crispier but generous on the guacamole and sour cream. All in all delicious. Great for after winters/Berryessa gap wine tasting.

When I moved to Winters a few years ago my first question was where can I get good Mexican food. Aside from the infamous taco truck down the street Chuys hands down is so bomb! Really low key. Casual. Walk in and find a seat pretty much. The ladies are beautiful and super friendly. I’ve had quite a few things on the menu. They have really good fajitas, we always get the wet burrito. Otherwise I get fish tacos. But like I said I’ve had pretty much everything. I usually judge a place based on their rice and beans and they nailed it! I highly recommend the Micheladas if you’ve never had one! So yummy! Definitely come hungry CUZ your gonna wanna eat.

The food was not seasoned and the portions were little. The servers were nice but lacked training. Overall this place was not worth the money.

They have the best salsa in town!!! But their meat is disgusting. The staff are horribke when it comes to waitressing. Anything made without meat is pretty delicious though.

This is my FAVORITE Mexican place, I go here all the time. The food is great and the people are friendly. I always get the enchiladas, they are amazing. And the portions are huge.

A memorably bad experience — we came in on a Saturday evening around 7 pm, and the place had a few scattered parties here and there. Since we weren’t greeted by anyone or seated with menus, we walked up to what must have been the to-go counter(?). We grabbed a couple menus and sat down. Eventually a waitress came and took our order — 2 Margaritas($ 5/each), a Carne Asada Super Burrito(~$ 8), and a 2 Chiles Rellenos Combo Plate($ 10). Compared to the size of the restaurant, the prices were my first warning sign — they should definitely have been higher if I was going to expect quality food. Oh well, maybe it’s just a great deal! The free chips and salsa were great — fresh chips and spicy, delicious salsa. The margaritas came next — *AWFUL*, literally the worst margarita I’ve had in my entire life, and I’m a white kid that went to college in Santa Cruz… there were definitely some growing pains. Pure sweet-and-sour, no discernible tequila, half the ice was already melted by the time it got to us. Bravo to the staff for letting us take these off our bill. The burrito was below par of what we could have made at home, but was decent enough to eat. 3 stars. The rellenos were made with Anaheim chiles(slender, green, mild) v. the traditional poblano(wide, smoky, delicious), and were covered in a super-mild tomato sauce that bordered on marinara for me. I ate one and didn’t end up taking the other home. 2 stars. It took an eternity to get out of this place since no one checked on us after laying the plates down. The only thing I’m thankful for is that the food didn’t cost more. If you’re in Winters, check out Preserve or Putah Creek Café — for a good night out, avoid Chuy’s.

This place is pretty cheap and the portions are huge! I order the super burrito with carne asada and this was amazing. The meat and the avocado with beans, cheese and rice were heavenly. I came here with some friends after hiking Lake Berryessa and I still could not finish the whole thing. My friend order the pollo(chicken) super burrito with no beans and he said he regret ordering the chicken. The chicken is a little on the dry side. The burrito is huge by the way. I will come back here whenever I am near winters! The workers here are friendly and accommodating. The server split the check of a group of 8.

Fast food quality, but restaurant prices. Ordered salad and combo plate with diet coke and it was $ 30. Chips tasted stale. If they charged fast food prices to match quality it would be one thing, but this place is way too expensive for quality.

Chuys is absolutely THE best Mexican food in the area. If the chicken wet super burrito was a person it would be my best friend. Actually, I think I like that burrito more than most people. Actually I might be in love with it. Don’t ever change wet super burrito… cuz girl, you’re amaaaaaaazing just the way you are.

On our way from San Francisco to Mount Shasta, I needed a bite and was following a Unilocal recommendation to some Mexicab restaurant in a town off the 505 called Winters. As we pulled into the little adorable town, we saw Chuy’s Taqueria. It looked tasty but, gasp, it wasn’t listed on Unilocal!!!So we took a gamble. The gamble paid off. I got the flautas and they were stuffed with surprisingly fresh and tender chicken. My friend got the recommended fish tacos and they were equally tasty. The rice and refried beans that came with our dishes were standard but the entrées were above-average. The restaurant has multiple large dining rooms and big full-wall windows with lots of green and hanging plants. Nicer than I was expecting to find in this tiny town. Highly recommended!

First of all, Winters, CA is adorable! definitely an awesome stop for lunch or dinner as you venture north or south on 505. (+) — Chips and salsa was delish — Alex had the chicken enchilada platter and the sauce especially was great — I had one carne asada crunchy taco which was piled with guac and lettuce, the steak was nice and smokey — Also, very reasonably priced. (-) — Nothing really to write home about in terms of the décor. Simple, practical. Was a nice stop on our trip north. Will definitely drive back through when we are in the area.

Salsa heaven at this downtown winters mexican fav. Three varieties, pico de gallo, roasted tomato and spicy salsas are featured in a bar with lemons and limes. We ordered the garlic shrimp, 12! With tortillas, avocado, rice and beans for $ 12.95.great deal and enough for 3 meals. The shrimp were shell on, butterflied and grilled perfectly. I tried the pinto beans, delish with salsa x3. Rice was standard variety, guacamole served generously. Service was prompt and friendly, comfortable table seating, and a very large menu. Open on tuesday night when putah creek is closed.

The little town of Winters is slowly becoming a sort-of artisinal, farm-to-fork, go-to place to get out and enjoy the freshest local food and drink. Though Chuy’s might not be very organic, it is a Winters staple and such a contrast to all the generic Mexican food available widely in this part of Solano/Yolo County. I’ve been to Chuy’s about 5 times in total and came out with my belly full each time. Chips and salsa are delicious… it definitely helps that they have a salsa bar with about 4 different salsas each time and condiments to go with your meal. I got tacos on multiple occasions and even my Mexican better half attested the quality. Several times I got the Asada plate which is one of the better I’ve tried anywhere. Meat is soft and not overcooked and the beans/rice complement it perfectly. As is tradition they also have a pretty good selection of seafood dishes but I did not get a chance to try them. However, judging from the tables next to us they are delicious as well. I’ll make sure to try some next time. The waitresses are really nice and attentive and the prices are right. If you are in for some authentic Mexican dishes, hungry, and in Winters you won’t find any better options then Chuy’s. Highly recommended…5 stars no thinking.
