It took a few minutes to get seated upon entrance to the restaurant because there was no hostess at the stand. On the other hand, our waitress Liz was very friendly and checked on us often throughout the meal. The food more than made up for the lack of attention we received when we entered the restaurant. We got the pulled pork sliders as an appetizer to split(even though it’s made to be an entrée portion). The pork was evenly coated with BBQ sauce and the pepper jack cheese complimented the sliders well. There could have been a little more sauce on it. The buns weren’t toasted, but it didn’t really need it. Also, the addition of frizzled onions were a nice touch and added a crunch to the overall soft sliders. As entrees, we got the taco pizza and the hot pastrami sandwich. The taco pizza had a little too much pico de gallo. Because there were so many toppings on the pizza, it caused the dough itself to become a little soggy. The hot pastrami sandwich really hit the spot. It had that smokiness of good pastrami and that charred outer ring. The rye bread was toasted perfectly and the cheese was melted all the way through. It came with shoestring fries, that were very crispy and not oily at all. Overall, it was a great meal and we will be back.

We went today for brunch. Restaurant was only half full and our eggs took almost an hour to arrive. And when they finally did arrive, the entire meal was luke-warm as if they had been sitting a while. We didn’t send anything back because we were waiting so long and were starving. Yes, they bought us another round of mimosas — which was nice and appreciated, but we will not be returning. We were very disappointed by the whole experience.

We don’t go back since Wendy is not there anymore. Now is borderline mediocre food and service. If the owners are there they apparently have more important things to do than greet loyal patrons

A very casual local bar/restaurant with reasonably good food. The French Onion soup was actually pretty spectacular with a great balance of cheese, broth, onions and bread. It was a tad too salty for my wife but everyone else at the table devoured it(and were grateful we ordered two). The sliders — we went for the short rib and pulled pork — were also very tasty. They were larger than we had expected from the reviews and came three to a plate — the only downside was that you have to order the French Fries separately. Then there was a step down to the Nachos Grande which were just OK. And the Cobb Salad which was fine except for the bacon — barely cooked and not crispy at all. Somewhat surprisingly for a bar the beer and cider selection was disappointing — I settled for Guinness and my wife had to go with a lager. The service was exemplary until it was time for the check when our waitress disappeared for 10 minutes. And the décor(at least at Christmas-time) was festive and cheery with lots of light wood. Lastly, there are TVs EVERYWHERE — one over each table and a bunch more by the bar. Great I guess for a fall weekend afternoon but just weird when you’re trying to eat dinner with friends or family.

Unassuming place, good prices stiff drinks. The sea dog and the taco pizza are winners!

Haven’t been here in 10 years! Nice, clean, plenty of room, very clean bathrooms! Rainy, chilly afternoon. Comfortable inside. Friendly server, fresh coffee is always tops! Had the French Onion Soup, one of my favorites and Chicken Sliders, with shoestring fries! The soup was perfect! Hot, steamy, with plenty of melting mozzarella, bread, onions, tender and bursting with flavor! Happiness . Next, real chicken, identifiable, sliders, Chipotle mayo, with some heat, tomatoes and lettuce, not skimpy, and comes in threes! Perfectly preparred, flavorful and delicious! Shoestring fries, not greasy, plentiful and seasoned with just the right amount of salt and pepper! Paletable, delicious, yummy goodiness, that was so worth coming to Doubledays for! Great lunch! Spares to go!

Doubleday’s is a local bar with dining room attached; it isn’t destination dining, but it’s alright for a quick bite when passing nearby. I prefer the beef sliders to the burgers(which always seem to have noticeably shrunk in cooking from their advertised weight); the house salad is reliable, and I have a friend who swears by the chicken-parm sandwich, but the fries and onion rings leave the distinct impression of not being fresh made. The beer list is satisfactory without being distinguished. Street parking is free after 6:00PM in Dobbs Ferry.

Great place to hang with friends, good food, friendly bartenders who remember you. They have a plentiful amount of TVs that they show all the games. I would definitely recommend this place.

Stopped there recently on a break from work, just looking for a light meal. I sat at the bar as I was on my own. The service from the bartenders was okay, but not especially welcoming. I ordered the french onion soup and a side salad. The soup came out in a timely manner, but the cheese was was too well done, actually on the burnt side. Also, it was incredibly hot… and I burnt my tongue with the first sip. Okay, my bad… I should have checked first, knowing that this item is baked in an oven. But a good server would have warned me about it. Aside from the burnt cheese, it the soup was okay. The salad came next with a nice mix of lettuce, grape tomatoes, cucumber slices… and an average tasting balsamic dressing. Not bad.

I am going old school/old menu. Just for me. Lol To end a perfect night there’s nothing better that this. Lol The new menu is great and the special outstanding. This special was amazing and only $ 12. Its time for a nice long review about Doubledays new menu. Good to see friends. Good music, drinks and friendly crowd. They are never cheap at DD. If you order vodka with cranberry you get vodka. Lol Green salad with salmon was great, and my brownie w vanilla ice cream was to die for.

This review is based on the bar only. It’s a great place to sit and watch a game. They have a huge bar, friendly bartenders and an older– but fun crowd. They have Magners on draft, which I love, and free popcorn! The prices on beer are reasonable. What more could you ask for?

Started with the Nachos Grande which, I must admit, were plentiful and well-seasoned. Girlfriend followed with a Cobb Salad(honey brown mustard dressing) while I had the recommended Old English burger. Unlike the nachos these dishes were average. The beef seemingly unseasoned but thankfully just on the rare side of my requested med-rare. Ordered steak fries with the burger which when it arrived I thought were too few. No, there were just enough. Food came quickly. The Cobb Salad was likewise unremarkable but worth more than the two stars we see here. Service was pleasant and quick, albeit we could have been asked for another round during the meal as opposed to the end. Nonetheless, we were treated well. There were perhaps six other people in the bar. Girlfriend liked the amaretto sour she ordered but again, nothing superb. Overall, an average experience capped with friendly service and good nachos. Décor is turn-of-the-century sports player etched in mirrors throught this pub-style establishment. Tables were laminated diner quality, lighting fine save for our table which had no ceiling light .

Horrible food and service. Officially the worst bartender in the world. Walked past my empty beer 20+ times before I stopped counting. Don’t waste one second of your time or money here!

one of the local bars for the near by Mercy College crowd. Before we start. their fries are awesome, the best ever… the rest is just ok. Beer selection is good, prices are good, food is good. dont get me wrong, the only thing that reminds me of this place is the fries, they really aregood enough to take a drive up to Dobbs. I guess because the bar is a bit layed back, it has lots of potential and lots of room to walk around.
